Chapter 4: A Strange Crisis

The morning sun rose from the side of the Empire State Building as Logan groaned for a bit when the sun rays shined down on him.

Once he opened his eyes, he groaned for a bit as he got out of bed and went to his clothes.

He was now wearing a black t-shirt with buttoned-up short sleeve shirt with it unbuttoned, black shorts, as well as his choice of wearing a black bandana around his neck, his shark tooth necklace, and hunting hat.

Then he went out the door and down to the main lobby to get some breakfast.

In the main lobby, Logan found something to eat consisting of bacon, eggs, fried potatoes, a fruit salad, and a cold glass of lemonade.

He already messaged the staff that he was down in the lobby having breakfast.

As he was enjoying his meal, he heard his phone vibrate and took out to see that Liz responded back saying that they will be down in a minute.

A little while later, the whole group came down to join Logan and grabbed their own dishes for the time being.

"So are you guys excited to go back to the museum again?" Liz asked the students.

"Yup, we sure are." Ashleigh replied back.

As they were eating, Logan noticed something on the tv with breaking news.

"Here at the Museum of Natural History, a huge break in was seen last night whereas some security guards were found dead and witnesses say one of them saw something strange at the crime scene." A news man said as a picture on the tv showed part of the museum's left side had a huge hole in the wall.

"It was like some sort of huge dinosaur. It's body was all white with spikes on its body." A security guard said what he saw last night. "It came out of nowhere from the shadows and attacked my men."

Logan wasn't the only one watching the news, his friends and staff were watching the whole thing with curious looks.

"Take a look at this terrifying footage." The news man said as a video showed a few security guards walking down a hallway. Then a loud growl was heard as the ember eyes from last night were shown.

"What was that?" One of the security guards asked as then a huge freakish shadow appeared over them as they turned around.

Then they let out a scream as the mysterious creature let out a horrifying roar and the screen got disorientated, possibly due to the camera being knocked out. The screen changed to the other part where the creature bursted out of the left side of the wall and disappeared into the night without being seen.

"Scientists believe that this 'dinosaur' might have made a comeback, but are not sure if this is real or not. The local authorities recommend that if this creature comes back, everyone is to remain inside at all times." The news man continued as Logan watched the whole thing with suspicion.

(Scene changes)

At the Museum of Natural History, people are at a do not cross line, made by the police, and are taking pictures of the crime scene.

"Alright, I want a squadron team to secure every block in the city, and have one patrol the docks if that thing shows up by tonight." A police commander ordered his men, who complied and went off while some of the police officers stayed to keep everyone back.

While this was happening, Logan and his friends came over to check it out.

A women in the crowd saw them and said. "Hey everybody, look! It's the Anti-Mutagen Team! They're here to save the day!"

Everyone turned around and saw Logan and his friends come to the 'do not cross' line while everyone moved out of the way.

Logan and his friends looked at the big hole in the wall of the museum. The New York City Chief of Police came over to them, more specifically Logan.

"Logan Johnson, are you the leader of this team?" The chief asked as Logan nodded in conformation. "Most of my men have not been able to make it for the investigation, is there any chance you could be of service to us?"

"Yes, sir." Logan replied back. "We've dealt with this stuff before, maybe we can find any traces of that creature left behind."

And so, the group made their way to the big hole and looked at it in awe. Somehow whatever made this hole big, the creature would have to be fifty feet long.

"Alright, guys." Logan addressed the team. "Let's go find any evidence from last night's events and see if this 'dinosaur' had left something behind."

They nodded and with Logan leading the way, the four students went inside the building.

As they walked in the hallway, they did indeed notice some claw marks on the walls and ground.

Logan bent down on the ground on one knee and ran his right hand through one of the claw marks.

He brought his hand up to his face and rubbed his now dirty fingers together before he stopped.

"Hmm." He frowned. "That's definitely strange."

"Hey, Logan!" Ashleigh called from the right. "You gotta see this!"

Logan got up and brushed his hand off before he quickly came over to Ashleigh, who had bent down on one knee and was looking at something in shock.

This made Logan turn to it as he too became surprised as he bent beside Ashleigh. On the ground was a large three toed footprint, resembling that of a predatory dinosaur and was bigger than that of a T. rex.

"Is that what I think it is?" Ashleigh asked her friend in surprise.

Logan breathed. "If it is, I probably don't wanna know what kind of new threat we're dealing with. Maybe the news was right."

Dylan came over to them and said. "Hey guys. Betty and I found something, you gotta check this out."

Logan and Ashleigh looked at each other before they got up as Dylan led them to Betty. Betty was just standing over something as the others came to her and looked at what she and Dylan found.

There, on the ground, was a strange mutagenic blood fused in red and green.

"What is that stuff?" Betty asked her friends as Logan bent down.

"Hmm. It looks like some kind of mutagenic blood." Logan calculated as he placed his backpack on the ground, reached out a vile and collected a small sample of the mutagen.

When he was done, he got up, placed a cork on the hole and looked at the mutagen in the vile.

"You know, guys." Logan said to his friends. "It looks like it's deja vu for us all over again."
