Chapter 9: Indominus Rex Attack
On the watery area, a boat passed by some rocks before coming to a stop at a beachy area.
Stepping out of the boat, Logan, his family, and Randy came onto the grassy area of Ash Island.
They gazed at the TGRI building as Logan remembered the last building he and his family encountered two years ago.
"So this is it?" Riley asked one of their police acquaintances.
"Yeah, come on. We better find a way inside the lab without being seen." A police cop named Paul said.
Logan nodded. "Alright, let's go."
With Logan leading the way, they quietly sneaked past the rocks without being seen. Looking through a rocky builder, they saw Helen's agents guarding the gates of the building.
"Oh great." Terran whispered in frustration. "This is like when we went to Jessie's island."
"How are we gonna get past them?" Riley quietly asked.
Thinking of a way in, Logan spotted a large old broken open window leading inside the building.
"Come on, the window might lead us inside." Logan whispered to his team quietly as they went over to the window.
When they got there, they used a rock big enough for them to climb in. So one by one, Logan went in first, followed by Riley, then Terran, Ambrea, as well as Randy.
As they got inside, they quietly sneaked behind a wall, they noticed one of the agents on a balcony with a gun in his hands.
Quietly motioning his team to keep quiet, Logan sneaked up behind the agent who was paying any attention and whacked him against the wall, making the agent groan in pain before he went unconscious.
Smirking, Logan said. "All in a day's work."
Soon, the team quietly sneaked on the balcony without being seen by any other agents. It was so quiet that they didn't see anyone, but themselves.
"Why aren't we seeing any agents here? And where's Helen? And Mesogog?" Terran asked quietly.
"I don't know, but at least no one has noticed we're in here." Randy said.
Then they heard bellowing below the balcony and they looked down to see the dinosaurs in the cages.
There were herbivores, carnivores, and dozens of different pterosaur types.
The team couldn't believe their eyes as the truth was right: Mesogog and Helen did bring back the dinosaurs from the time periods.
"Oh man." Logan whispered.
"They did bring them back from the past." Riley said in the same whispered tone.
As they looked on, Terran noticed something glowing in a room.
"Guys, look." He quietly whispered to his team, which made them look to see the glowing light behind the door.
Quietly walking over to it quietly, Logan and his team came to a corner and hid. Peaking through the corner of the door, Logan noticed the Time Anomaly portal machine glowing with a bright yellow light. And inside the room there were dozens of canisters filled with mutagen, with dinosaur DNA combining with them.
But what else caught their attention was that in four separate cages, there were different kinds of lizards. One of them a Pit Adder snake, a Western Usambara two-horned chameleon, and a Gladiator treefrog.
They carefully studied them as if wondering why Helen would use their DNA for the Indominus rex before they quietly walked over to the Time Anomaly as they studied it carefully.
Then they saw some papers on a desk as Logan took them in his hands and they looked at them. But as Logan came to the last page, they were in for a real shock when they saw what Mesogog had in mind.
These were blueprints to create a giant anomaly portal that would be big enough for him to bring the dinosaurs to this world as well as mutating humanity in hybrids like him combined with the mutagen. Then they turned back to the machine.
"What is this machine?" Riley asked as he and his family studied it.
Ambrea studied it carefully. "Well it looks like a time portal machine. Maybe this is what Helen brought the dinosaurs back."
"If it is, what does Mesogog need them for if he wants to take over the world?" Randy asked in a whisper.
"I don't know, but we gotta find out. And I bet these notes will help us." Logan said as he placed the notes in his backpack. They were about to leave, when suddenly coming around a corner behind the door was Mesogog.
"Welcome." He addressed making them stop and gasp. "We've been expecting you."
"You." Logan breathed.
"You remember me, I trust?" Mesogog asked sadistically.
"Like I could forget a face like that? I saw you from my vision the other day." Logan glared at him.
"Um, which parts of his face besides that scar?" Terran asked nervously.
Mesogog smirked before saying. "Obviously, you are in need of some discipline."
He pressed a button on the wall as red smoke came out of some holes from above the ceiling and rained down on the team as Mesogog moved back.
Logan and his team coughed as the smoke began to cover their visions before they went completely black as they fell unconscious.
(Scene changes)
The screen opens up as Logan and his team were still unconscious before they groaned as they struggled to open their eyes.
When they woke up, they saw bones scattered around on a sandy ground, making them jump in surprise.
"Where are we?" Riley asked, a little scared.
They all looked around to see they were in a paddock with doors, and few trees around the place.
"It looks like we're in a paddock." Ambrea said, studying the place.
"A paddock for my engenius creation." Mesogog's voice came from above a balcony as they turned their attention to him staring down at them as Helen was with them.
"So you're Mesogog." Logan said as he glared at the dinosaur human hybrid.
"I suppose you already know who I am?" Mesogog asked amusingly. "Well, Logan Johnson, were you impressed with how I went in your dream the other day?"
"How did you get in there anyway?" He asked, angrily.
"When I was experimenting with dinosaur DNA along with the mutagen, it not only granted me special abilities, but I also gained a powerful psychic surge from a neurochemical I added to it." Mesogog began to explain. "I've heard alot about you and your family from the first year you took down that fool Angus Oldfield who was trying to turn the world into an apocalypse ruled by mutants. I was even impressed by what you did, especially when you took down Jessie Arach Parker as well."
Logan and his family turned to one another, shocked by this before they turned to him with a glare as Ambrea asked. "What do you want anyway? What's up with the time portal machine? And what's the big idea of turning people into hybrids like you?!"
"How rude of me not to explain my plan." Mesogog said mockingly before he explained. "The Time Anomaly was created by my student Helen Cutter. Its energy contains powerful electricity surges we stole from power grids around the world. When I open another Anomaly portal, I will bring back a huge army of dinosaurs at my command and bring back the glorious Era of their region. Humanity will fall at my knees once everyone of my creatures wipes them out for good. But first off, we will transform them into hybrids like myself with the mutagen combined with the dinosaur roots, starting with Salvatore Maggio."
Logan and his team were shocked by his plan before Mesogog turned to Helen.
"Helen, send out my creation." He ordered Helen.
"Yes, master." Helen responded back before she pressed a button.
The doors opened and a hallway was dark.
Logan realized something. "Wait, your creation? But Helen was the one who made the Indominus Rex."
"Actually, she only did part of it. I was the one who created her." Mesogog answered back, making the others gasp.
Then growling was heard as well as heaving footsteps walking to them.
"Have fun with my creation." Mesogog said as he and Helen walked away.
Then trees were heard rustling as a white body was seen coming through them, making Logan and his team gasp before he shouted. "GO! GO!"
Logan and his team ran to find an exit, but then a white three toed clawed foot stomped right in their way.
This made the five gasp as they stopped as they looked up with wide eyes to see the female Indominus Rex standing over them with hunger in her eyes.
She resembles freakishly large albino Tyrannosaurus Rex with longer arms resembling those of Velociraptor nublarensis, but closer inspection betrays her chimeric nature with four claws. Unlike a Velociraptor, her rugged, horned head proudly hallmarks her Carnotaurus heritage. The I. rex possesses rows of jagged, gnarly teeth, and her mouth bleeds profusely, as a result of her teeth cracking and growing in random directions. Fitting for dinosaurs born to scare visitors, her eyes are fiery red in color. Her body is coated in osteoderms.
The huge hybrid dinosaur growls before releasing a loud terrifying roar which makes Logan and his team stagger back before running away from her, but unfortunately, Randy is left behind and the I. rex grabs him with her claws as he screams in horror before being eaten alive by the dinosaur.
Logan and his family watch in horror of what happened to Randy before the Indominus turns to them with mass hunger in her eyes and unleashes another horrifying roar so loudly that the four covered their ears and cringed. The Indominus' roar was so loud it rivaled that of a T. rex.
"RUN!" Logan shouted as he and his family ran to a large log and went in it.
The Indominus came to it and grabbed the log in her teeth as the four screamed in horror while the dinosaur shook the log in her jaws before sending it above the trees and against a wall, destroying the log in the process as Logan and his team fell to the ground on their backs.
Ambrea then spots a control panel on a wall that leads to the outside.
"Come on, guys! The door." Ambrea shouted as they made their way to the panel. "I can get this door open, just give me a few seconds!"
She had her phone out and got to work on figuring out the code as Logan hears the trees crushing, meaning the Indominus was getting closer.
"Hurry!" Riley shouted as Ambrea tried harder to get the code on before she got a confirmation.
The door opens as Logan shouted. "Go, go!"
The four immediately went out the gates as the Indominus came out as she roars out and chased after them.
Logan and his team ran as fast as their legs could carry them as they came to an upper ledge of the watery area of the island.
They turn to see the Indominus catching up to them as Logan said to his family. "We're gonna have to jump! Come on!"
And just before the Indominus could catch them, Logan and his family jumped into the water as they screamed in horror before they dived into the water.
The Indominus tries to see if they might come up. She still stands on the ledge as Logan and his family remained in the water without being seen.
Soon they Indominus roars out in frustration before marching off back to her paddock.
As she left, Logan and his family emerged from the water gasping for air as the Indominus roared out.
They swam to another island and made it to shore and collapsed on the grassy part of the land.
"Man, that was intense." Logan said in exhaustion. His family agreed with a heavy sigh from what they encountered. Then he took out the notes as they were a little wet, but they still had the blue prints. "Well, at least these notes are still visible."
