Chapter 17: Elevator Escape
Inside the TGRI building, Logan had just sneaked in through the broken window and into the hallways before going up the stair grid.
He presses his back against a wall before silently peeking around a corner to see two of the mutant dinosaur-human hybrids guarding the elevator to the Time Anomaly.
"Oh boy." Logan muttered. "This is gonna be tougher than I thought."
He looks around for a moment, trying to figure out a way to get past them before he sees one of the mutants having a piece of meat on the left side.
This gave him an idea as he loaded a tranquilizer shock dart in his pistol, reloaded it, and aimed it at the mutant.
Then he fired his bullet and the dart struck the mutant, shocking it instantly as it growled a gibberish sound before it fell unconscious.
It alerted the other two and immediately went to him, giving Logan enough time to go to the elevator and pressed a button on it. But his presence didn't fool one of them as they noticed everything.
The elevator opened the doors and Logan went in it before he pressed a button on the control panel for it to close.
Logan rested his back against the wall of the elevator and took a deep breath.
"Whew. That was close." Logan said to himself. "Now all I have to do is ride this baby up to the top and it's 'good-bye, Mesogog!'."
But just as he said that, something banged against the doors by full force as it made him jolt in surprise.
Suddenly, something was breaking through the doors as three claws began to open it. Logan realized it was the mutants as he heard them roaring while trying to get in to stop him.
"Oh no!" Logan said as he looked in shock.
He looked up to see the door leading up on the elevator. Thinking that it might help him, he used his best to reach the top of the upper door, used one of his katana swords to open it.
Just then one of the mutants opened the doors as Logan had climbed up to the top of the elevator and closed the door tightly.
Logan caught his breath and looked up to the very top of the elevator shaft leading all the way to the top of the building.
"Well, it looks like I'm climbing up." Logan said disdainfully.
(Scene changes)
After a short while, Logan used the cable to climb up as he had a scowl on his face, knowing that this was going to be a long while to get up there.
He was just a few yards away from the elevator when he came across a door on the fifth floor.
"Maybe this might help." Logan said as he got up and kept his balance.
He uses one his sais to pry the door open and successfully does. He opens it, only to widen his eyes in surprise.
Some Mesogog's agents were there armed with guns as they aimed them at Logan.
"Gah!" Logan screamed before he closed the doors quickly while keeping his balance in check.
"I gotta watch my eyes." Logan said before he jumped on the cable of the elevator and began to continue climbing up through the shaft. Then the alarm was set off. This made Logan frown in annoyance before he added. "I just had to set off the alarm, didn't I?"
Suddenly he heard the sound of growling coming from below him as he looked down to see the elevator coming up, but one of the mutants barged out of the upper door and gave a roar.
Thinking quickly, Logan looked at the cable of the elevator. This gave him an idea as he took out one of his katana swords.
"Sorry, guys. But this is gonna hurt you alot more than it's gonna hurt me." Logan said as the mutants began to climb on the elevator as it rode all the way to Logan.
Lifting his katana in the air, Logan took one swipe from it and sliced the cable with it.
Then Logan held on for dear life as the cable was snapped from the elevator and lifted the boy at high speed.
The dinosaur hybrids roared in terror as they fell all the way down the ground.
"I better get ready. It's about to hit." Logan said with worry.
The dinosaurs continued to roar in terror before the elevator hit the ground, causing it to explode along with the hybrids.
But it also made Logan let go of the cable as he flew high into the air all the way up to the top.
"AAAAAAAHHHH!" Logan screamed at the top of his lungs before he placed his katana in his slot.
Then he grabbed a hold of one of the doors on the 10th floor with a grunt.
Logan looked down to see the ground from way up. He stiffened up a bit before he sighed in relief.
"When this is over, I'm seriously taking a vacation to Florida." Logan muttered before he got up and pried the door open with his katana sword.
Soon enough, he opened them and there was no one in the hallway. He got up and closed the door behind him before looking at the staircase, indicating that it leads all the way up to the very top of the building.
"Looks like I'm taking the stairs this time." Logan quipped before he ran all the way up the stairs to stop Mesogog.
But just as he was about to go up the stairs, something big smashed through the brick wall of the building.
Logan braced himself from the debris flying at him as well as the cloud of dust. Then appearing from the dust was none other than the mutated form of Salvatore Maggio.
"Oh no, not you again!" Logan said in exasperation.
Sal roared loudly before he unleashed his claws and began to attack Logan, but he dodged the mutated freak's moves and punched him in the face into a wall.
Growling angrily, Sal roared at his enemy before Logan in the stomach, flying to the upper step.
Logan groaned in pain before getting back up on his feet and took out his katana swords and got into a fighting stance.
With a roar, Sal ran at Logan with full speed. But Logan dodged him and he ended up hitting the wall before he tried to swipe Logan aside, but he kept on dodging the mutant's countless attacks.
Then Logan jumped on the wall and sliced Sal's face with one of his swords, but luckily he ended up giving him a cut on the left side of the gangster leader's head, even the face.
Sal roared in pain before growling at Logan viciously and charged at him, but Logan managed to avoid him.
Unfortunately, Sal swiped him aside to the fifth step of the staircase as he grunted in pain.
He gets back up before glaring at Sal and spotted a crack underneath the mutant. This gave him an idea.
"Come on, Sal. Is this really all you got?" Logan taunted the mutant with a smirk.
Sal roared in anger before he charged at Logan, but that proved to be a mistake. Logan jumped up and grabbed a hold of the metal pipes and kicked Sal in the face, forcing him to fall on his back.
Then a cracking sound was heard as Sal growls in pain before he stops as he widens his eyes in realization.
Logan smirked as his plan worked.
The cracks continue to form around Sal as he says only one thing. "Oh boy."
Suddenly, a hole formed around him as he falls to his doom, roaring in horror before he disappeared in a cloud of dust.
"Phew, that was close." Logan said in relief before he turned his attention to the stairs.
He resumes his destination to the top to stop Mesogog once and for all.
