Chapter 18: Rooftop Rumble
The battle on the ground continues to rage as Logan's team, the dinosaurs, and the police as they continue to fight the Indominus Rex as well as the hybrids.
On the rooftop of TGRI, Mesogog looks on the battle with amusement as he knew that he was sure to win once the planet is his.
Helen came up to him with a strange red substance in a vile with a cork on it.
"Master, I have the substance for you. Just as you requested." Helen said, showing the vile to him.
"Excellent, Helen." Mesogog acknowledges her with an evil smile before turning it into a glare. "But there is one thing I must ask you."
Helen looked at her master with confusion as he turns to face her and walks up to her.
"Whatever made you think you could ignore the fact that Logan managed to slip past the security without being noticed from a short time while making a cure for me to get seperated from Henry?" Mesogog asked sternly.
As expected, Mesogog also instructed Helen to create a cure for him to separate him from Dr. Henry Hoskins and so she did, but didn't think Logan managed to get inside without ease.
"Wait, Logan is in here?" Helen asked in confusion. "But I didn't know-"
She was cut off when Mesogog began to tourcher her. At the same time Logan opens a door on the rooftop and saw the Time Anomaly with the portals still open. He sees Helen being tortured by Mesogog and jumped down while hiding behind some crates.
"But you have to believe me, Master!" Helen pleaded with Mesogog as he continued to torcher her while Logan peaked out from the crates as he watched silently. "I didn't realize he was in here while trying to find the cure for your weakness!"
Logan became confused. "His weakness? What?"
"Your foolishness has cost me dearly to know he is on his way here!" Mesogog shouted angrily. "Now it is you who must pay the price!"
He grabs Helen by the shoulders and tosses her aside to the ground, making Logan cringed at the sight.
"Please, my master!" Helen still begged as Mesogog approached her. "I pledged my dying loyalty to you! I won't do it again!"
Mesogog stares at her for a few seconds before kneeling down and cupped her chin with his right hand.
"I know you won't. Because there won't be a next time." Mesogog said before he takes the vile from Helen and stands back up before walking away from her a bit before he stops. He turns to face her. "You are right, however, about my weakness. As long as he exists, I am vulnerable. That is why I will see to it that Dr. Henry Hoskins never returns."
"What? What's he talking about?" Logan whispered to himself as he was really starting to get confused.
He drinks the substance all the way before dropping the vile as it shatters into pieces. Mesogog begins to change a bit before something or rather someone separates him from his body.
And that somebody was none other than Dr. Henry Hoskins! He still wore his white lab coat and black pants too.
This made Logan silently gasp in surprise and shock.
"Whoa. Okay, I did not see that one coming." Logan said as he disappeared behind the crate.
Henry breathed heavily as Helen gasped as she looked at her teacher while Mesogog growled sadistically.
"Get this useless creature out of my sight, once and for all." Mesogog ordered two agents as they dragged Henry away.
Then he turns his attention to Helen, who looked up at him fearfully. Mesogog then turns to two more agents and said. "Do the same for her! Take her to the storage room!"
"No!" Helen gasped.
The agents grabbed her as she continued to struggle to break free while shouting in protest.
"Please! You can't do this to me!" Helen begged.
"I'll miss you, Helen! Truly, I will." Mesogog said before he laughed maniacally.
The agents continue to drage Henry away, but not before Logan jumps on one of them and kicks him to the ground.
Logan got into a fighting stance and punched the other one unconscious.
He looks down to see Henry waking up. Thinking quickly, Logan grabs Henry by the shoulders and drags him to hide behind the crates.
Henry groans in pain for a bit before he adjusts his eyes a bit.
"Hey, are you okay?" Logan asked as Henry's vision became clear as Logan was kneeling down on one knee, looking at him with concern.
"Who are you?" Henry asked in confusion.
"I'm one of the Anti-Mutagen Team members." Logan introduced himself to Henry and explained. "You just got separated from Mesogog."
This made Henry's eyes go wide with shock. "What?"
But then he noticed Helen wasn't there. "Oh no, where's Helen?"
"She's been taken away from Mesogog's agents." Logan answered before they hear Mesogog laughing as they turned to see him watching the battle. "You might wanna stay behind and watch, Henry. I'll take it from here."
Nodding in agreement, Henry hid behind some storage crates as Logan silently moved to some of the other crates going behind Mesogog.
"Now all I need is to destroy every last one of these useless human beings, and the Earth will be mine!" Mesogog said in delight and sadistication. "Mine as I always dreamed it would be!"
"Not if I can help it, Mesogog!" An angry voice came from behind Mesogog, making him turn around to see Logan standing behind him with an angry look he shot at as he said. "Because I'm here to stop you!"
"WHAT?! YOU?!" Mesogog exclaimed in anger before he laughed menacingly. "Well, so glad you could join the fun."
"Where is she? Where is Helen?! Where did you take her?!" Logan demanded.
"Let's just say she is in storage." Mesogog simply said with an evil smirk.
"She better be alive or-" Logan was cut off by Mesogog.
"Or what?!" Mesogog interrupted him. "What will you do, Logan?"
Logan continued to glare at him as he said. "Fight you to the bitter end!"
Mesogog laughed amusingly and evilly at his remark before saying. "Fight me in any way you want. But when I'm through with you, the world will soon worship at my feet and this planet will be as it once was! In the claws of the mighty reptiles!"
Logan still glared at the insane mutant even more.
"You may have come all this way to stop me, but now this is where it ends. Since I've added the mutagen to my bloodstream, I will now crush your bones into dust and you will be no more than a mere footnote! WITNESS THE DESTRUCTION OF YOUR PLANET, YOUR FAMILY, AND YOUR FINAL BATTLE!" Mesogog roared.
Suddenly he began to change differently: his clothes began to rip apart before taking on a horrifying new form.
Logan widens his eyes in horror and shock.
Mesogog now has taken into a new hybrid form: his claws were now extremely sharp, his feet now had three talons, he grew a long tail, his mouth had incredibly sharp teeth, spines were protruding on his back and his eyes were completely yellow.
"Now that is really messed up." Logan quipped before he glared at Mesogog angrily.
The mutant unleashed a deathly roar that would have given Logan a chill, but it didn't work for him.
Taking out his katana swords, Logan got into a fighting stance as Mesogog laughed maliciously.
"Okay, Mesomess!" Logan taunted his enemy. "Let's see what you got!"
Logan charged at Mesogog, but the mutant responded back. "I'll show you what I got! THIS!"
He swipes Logan aside to the Time Anomaly, making it spark up, as he let out a loud grunt of pain as he fell on his ground.
Logan grunted in pain before he glared at Mesogog with his nose bleeding. "Okay, this dinosaur is tougher than I thought he would be." He wipes the blood off his nose before going back on his feet.
He grabs his swords and twirls them a bit before seathing back in his slots. Then he took out his sais before going into a fighting stance, facing Mesogog as the dinosaur maniac roars insanely.
Without a warning, Mesogog charged.
Logan blocked the monster's attacks and jabbed his sais into his thick hide, which was too late to be almost impenetrable as the tip of the sai became lodged in his claws. Mesogog took the chance to grip Logan by the arm and flung him to the ground.
Seething with anger, Logan charged at Mesogog, attempting to slice through his hide with his katanas. Mesogog easily avoided his attacks and drop kicked Logan to the ground, before picking him up and tossing him to the ground.
Mesogog tossed some rubble at Logan, but he moved out of the way and got back up to his feet.
He tossed some throwing stars at the dinosaur, but it didn't do well. Logan charged at him by landing a solid kick to his face, making Mesogog stagger back a bit and back fisted him in the face again as the dinosaur roared in pain.
Logan landed on the ground with a crouch as he glared at Mesogog as he growled in rage before they resumed their battle.
Henry watches everything before seeing the Time Anomaly sparking up as if somehow it must be malfunctioning.
Logan leapt into the air and brought his swords down upon Mesogog, but he was able to once again knock him away with a hard blow to the face. Logan spat blood as Mesogog stalked up to him. He tried to punch Logan, but he ended up punching the ground a couple times as Logan dodged his attacks.
On the battleground, Jay and his dinosaur friends charge the Indominus, but she overpowers them as she tail swipes them aside, grabs them by the claws and tosses them to the ground.
Mesogog tried to grab Logan by the throat, but Logan rolled out of the way knee kicked Mesogog's leg, sending the monster to the ground as he landed on his back.
As Logan got back on his feet, unbeknownst to him and everyone else, news helicopters have been hovering beyond in the air from the battleground as cameramen were recording everything and video clipping everything.
Logan continued to battle Mesogog as the monster ploud him around with no problem while mocking his performance. "Pathetic! Redundant! You are beneath me!"
He throws Logan aside as he bounced a bit before nearly falling off, but grabbed the side of the roof.
"You will never defeat me!" Mesogog mocked gloatingly. "Soon you and the rest of your family and friends will not stand in my way once you all will die at my hand!"
True as it may, Logan's family and friends were having trouble with fighting the war.
Finally, having enough of this, Logan immediately lost it. Having never before being this angry before to fight off his enemies, Logan was at a new level.
"I'M DONE WITH YOU, MESOGOG!" Logan roared as he jumped on the roof and charged at Mesogog.
This time, he was ready.
Logan dodged Mesogog's attacks as the human-hybrid mutant tried to hit him, but Logan dodged them easily and attacked him brutally by kicking him in the face multiple times, punching him in the gut, and grabbed a piece of metal and whacked it against the monster's head five times.
He then kicks him to the ground.
Kneeling down, Logan breathed heavily as he looked at his reflection on the metal piece.
"Fool!" He heard Mesogog beside him, making him turn and roll out of the way just in time after the mutant tried to grab him but only to grab the metal piece.
Logan backed away from Mesogog and up against the Time Anomaly as the monster stalked over to him.
"You're going down, Logan!" Mesogog said before he shouted. "AND THIS TIME, I MEAN IT!"
He charges at Logan and is about to kill him, but Logan quickly moves out of the way just in time as Mesogog hits the Time Anomaly.
Logan fell on his back as Mesogog was roaring in pain from the electricity surging through his bead and it felt pretty bad. Somehow, his powers began to fade into the machine too.
"Sorry, Mesogog. This time you're going down." Logan said as he throws a few kunai knives at the machine as it continued to spark up in rage as the three huge portals began to fade.
Then all of a sudden, a huge electricity bolt shot straight out of the machine and hit the Indominus Rex, who was about to finish off the eight dinosaurs but it was too late, as she roared in pain before she disintegrates before she exploded, leaving only her skeleton in the process as it fell to the ground. Then all of a sudden, the dinosaur-human-hybrids began changing as the police held their fire as they waited to see what was happening.
Even Logan's family and friends stopped what they were doing as they saw the mutants transforming back to normal.
"What's happening?" Ambrea asked in surprise.
Riley turned his attention to the roof of TGRI and saw the portal sparking up along with Mesogog. He smirked as if he had an answer.
"I think Logan's done it again." Riley said to his cousin.
Mesogog continued to roar in pain before letting go of the machine and glared at Logan fiercely.
"You've ruined everything!" Mesogog roared in anger before charging at Logan.
But this time, Logan was ready and just as Mesogog was about to throw a punch at Logan, he ducked before delivering an upper cut to the monster's chin, forcing him to step back.
"You want to have a better world with the dinosaurs, Mesogog?! You got it!" Logan shouted as he charged at Mesogog and double kicked him into the portal of the Triassic.
Mesogog roars in terror as he gets sucked into the past as the portals close up.
Then the machine started to spark up wildly and exploded as it sent Logan flying to the door he came through and slammed against it by the back.
He groans in pain before Henry comes over to his aid.
"Hey, you okay?" Henry asked as he helped Logan to his feet.
"Yeah, thanks." Logan responded back.
Suddenly an explosion was heard as the Time Anomaly was destroying the TGRI building.
"We gotta get out of here, now!" Logan said.
"What about Helen?!" Henry replied back. "We can't just leave her here!"
Logan looked at him for a minute before he nodded in agreement.
(Scene changes)
Helen continued to struggle in order to get freed from the agents, but it didn't work.
"Stop struggling, Helen, it will make things worse for you." One of the agents said.
"Let me go!" Helen ordered, but to no avail.
The more she struggles, the less they let her go.
"Keep it together, lady." The other agent ordered her. "Mesogog wants us to do what he wants."
"Didn't you hear the lady?!" Logan's voice came from behind them.
They turn around only to be met with Logan side kicking one of them to the ground and upper cutting the last one.
Helen looked up to see Logan standing over her and offered her a hand.
Even though they did start out as enemies, there can always be ones who deserve a second chance.
Accepting this, Helen reached up and took Logan's hand as he helped her up.
"Thank you." Helen thanked him, even after everything she did to him and his team.
Nodding, Logan led her and Henry out of the building as fast as they could as fire began to sprout everywhere.
Suddenly some debris came down and hit the ground, blocking their way. To make matters worse, fire rose up behind them as well.
"What do we do now?!" Henry shouted.
Just before Logan could think of anything, something big was heard from behind the debris and crashing something too.
Then clearing the debris away was none other than Jay! The Allosaurus roared to his master.
"Jay!" Logan called back to his companion before he ran to him and hugged his snout. "Thanks, buddy!"
Jay lightly purred before he turned to see Helen and growled at her, after everything she put him as well as his friends too.
"It's okay, buddy." Logan assured the Allosaurus as it settled down a bit before looking at Henry with confusion. Logan saw him and said. "Long story. Right now, we gotta get out of here!"
Jay hesitated for a moment before he recomposed himself and allowed the two to ride with him and Logan.
Logan was the first to jump on his saddle before turning back to the two.
"Quick, come on!" Logan said as he beckoned them to climb on.
Henry and Helen hesitated for a moment before they got on and held on tightly to the saddle. Then the building started coming down.
"Come on, boy! Move it!" Logan ordered his companion as Jay roared out before making a run for it with Logan and the passengers riding on him.
Jay quickly made his way past the debris and jumped over the fires as fast as he could.
(Scene changes)
Back outside the TGRI building, the tower was still on fire as explosions were heard. The police officers, Logan's family and friends had everyone of the changed people of London to a safe distance with their dinosaur companions, but Jay went in to find his master.
They all couldn't believe it.
"I can't believe it!" Dylan exclaimed.
"Logan!" Maggie cried in tears.
"He's… gone?" Riley asked, horrified.
"No! No, he can't be!" Terran said, not wanting to believe it.
They all thought they lost him again when… Jay came bursting out of the doors with Logan, Henry, and Helen riding on him as the Allosaurus roars in victory.
Everyone cheered for them making it out as the other seven dinosaurs roared in reply to Jay.
"Dude!" Terran shouted happily to his cousin.
"You made it!" Riley said with joy.
"Logan!" Ashleigh exclaimed.
Maggie was happy that she shed tears of joy, seeing Logan alright.
Logan had a brave expression on his face as he said. "Mesogog… is finished."
Jay went over to them with the three riding on him.
The three climbed down from the Allosaurus as Logan's team came over to him.
"You did it, Logan!" Maggie said, while hugging Logan as he blushed. "You saved the world." Then she kissed him on the cheek, making him freeze up a bit before he smiled.
Rebbeca and Lennox came over with the policemen right behind them as Lennox said to him.
"What happened up there?"
Logan looked at him for a moment before he breath in.
"Well, you're not gonna believe this, but look who got separated from Mesogog." Logan gestured a hand to Henry as the others were surprised to see Dr. Henry Hoskins alive.
"Dr. Henry Hoskins?" Dylan asked.
"Hello, everybody." Henry greeted before he explained everything.
Once it was done, Lennox and Rebbeca went to him with smiles they had.
"Well, we're glad you're safe, Henry." Lennox said to him.
"Welcome back, Dr." Rebbeca said as she shook his hand with hers.
Then Dylan spotted something.
"Uh, guys?" Dylan asked. "Look."
Then heavy thudding was heard as Jay and his friends turned to see an Apatosaurus arrived with a Saltasaurus.
They then saw an Iguanodon, a Stegosaurus, and a gang of Daspletosaurus arrived as well. And then a group of Velociraptors, Pyroraptors, a herd of Parasaurolophus, Edmontosaurus along with a youngster, two Maiasaura youngsters, a group of Ankylosaurus, a flock of Gallumimus, a herd of Scinoceratops, Baryonyx, Allosaurus, Triceratops, Pachyrhinosaurus, 2 Aucasaurus, and four Carnotaurus. A Giganotosaurus arrived as well and even another Spinosaurus came. Then an Argentinosaurus and Brachiosaurus arrived.
Then landing beside them was a flock of Pterosaurs of many kinds. Dimorphodons, Pteranodons, Tapejara, Ramphorhyncus, Ornethicorus, and Quetzalcoatlus. They screeched out.
Jay and his friends narrowed their eyes with a firm glare as the Allosaurus snorted.
The expression on the pterosaurs then lowered, and they all bowed to the eight dinosaurs.
Jay then looked over and snorted as the four Carnotaurus bowed as well. Then all the other dinosaurs bowed to the eight.
Logan, his family, friends, and allies were amazed by what they were watching.
Then Rex twirled, knocking over a tree as he and his dinosaurs thunderously roared with Skyler screeching with her wings out.
It was finally over. The gangster gang was gone, and so was Mesogog. Now all of the dinosaurs were now not under the Indominus Rex' control.
