Chapter 3: The return of the Chunin exam; Shikamaru's puzzle.
Leaf village, Evening, Senju residence
Nowaki was in front of a mirror wherein a tael shirt with gray short sleeves and black shinobi pants and shoes.
Its Friday and school let's out early. And on the weekend students can either stay at the dorms or go home. So Nowaki came home first before Xion so he could get ready to meet up with for they're date.
"I still can't believe that Xion actually asked me out on a date? I didn't think she felt that way?" Nowaki said to himself. He thought Xion just wanted to hang out but that kiss she gave him made it abundantly clear what she wanted. "Last I checked I did tell her about Sveta, right? This isn't cheating is it? I mean we never confirmed to be a couple. And big sis and sister shizune said as the last know male Senju I have to take four or more wives. Darn it Xion why you have to go and spring this on me when I wasn't even thinking about it!" Nowaki said confused and frustrated. "Thank Kami those two are in a meeting right now. They never let me hear the end of it and embarrasses the heck out of me." Nowaki said before hearing a knock at his door.
He opened the door to see Xion wearing a black and blue no sleeve shirt with a small skirt with slim shorts and black stockings. Nowaki seeing this blushed which Xion noticed and smiled.
"Dammit! Why do I keep doing that! You look hot. I Mean! You look sexy! No! I mean you look Great! Yeah that's what I meant you look normally great!" Nowaki said turning crimson red from embarrassment.
This made Xion said laugh a little. "Thanks you look good yourself. So where are we going?" Xion asked confusing Nowaki. "You do know that it's the guy's job to lead right?"
"Yeah! yeah of course! in fact I just remembered where to go! It's something I wanted to show you for a while now." Nowaki answered grabbing Xion's hand and leading her outside. "I hope she doesn't realize I'm making this up as I go!"
"He's making this up as he goes." Xion said.
Hokage's tower, Meeting room.
Tsunade, Shizune and Shikaku are having an important meeting with Gaara, Kankuro and Tamari. Some of it was about the Chunin Exam and the relationship between the sand and the leaf. Despite the new peace treaty Both villages are still at odds with each other about the failed invasion plan. There was also about what they recently found out about the rock village.
"So it was the land of Fang and the Rock Village that destroyed half of twilight city?" Kankuro asked getting a yes from Tsunade who received a letter from Joe telling her of what happened.
"Why on earth would they do that?Attacking a city in the UN nations Unsanctioned is a serious offense, It won't just be their village that will get punished, it will be the entire Earth kingdom." Tamari said, she's very knowledgeable in political affairs. "Not to mention that Twilight city is an American city, It could be seen as an act of war. This could end up starting a second Vale War."
"We're all aware of that, but we got information from Joe stating that they will take care of this affair and that we should all try to keep ourselves separate from this. which is a good idea because if we get involved we might get our nations involved if this does turn into a war." Shikaku said.
"But what of Naruto and his town? Surely we can at least help them rebuild their lives after what the rock ninjas did?" Gaara said. Naruto helped him more than once so helping him rebuild his city is the least he could do.
"We already have plans to do that, but if the sand village want to help I'm sure no one will complain." Tsunade said. She then looked at a piece of paper with the number of genin teams that will be participating. "Let's see, looks like there are about the same number of participants from the last exam. there are quite a few sand ninjas then last time. The black spiders has sent a team for this year, and it looks like the Hyabusa and Mugan tenchi are doing a conjoin team this year." Tsunade said before noticing a name in particular.
"Well that's just swell and hear I was thinking the hyabusas were going to sit this one out, but now another team of spider ninjas too." Kankuro said feeling a bit depressed remembering how he lost in the 3rd round to Suzumebachi.
"For goodness sake Kankuro would you get over it already!" Tamari said to her brother, sure she lost to Tsuru in a three way match but she's already over it. "Anyway shouldn't we be getting back to the other matter?"
"You mean the Akatsuki. We still don't have any crucial information to go on, Jiraiya was gathering information on them along with Orochimaru but hes been missing in action for a long while now and the last thing that we got was the Akatsuki may start moving in 2 or 3 years." Tsunade said.
"It's been 2 years already and still no new Information, so the Akatsuki could strike at any time." Gaara said. As of right now the only Akatsuki members that they know of are Itachi and Kisame and that their goal involves the 9 tailed beast.
"Gaara, Are you sure you're willing to do this? I mean using yourself as bait to draw in the Akatsuki is a bit too risky. We have other spies I'm sure with a little more time we'll be able to find out more about the Akatsuki or Jiraiya's whereabouts." Tsunade said. Both villages Council came up with an idea of using Gaara to attract the Akatsuki by letting the the villages participating know that the Kazekage will be mostly supervising the 2nd and 3rd round of the Chunin exam. There hoping the Akatsuki will take the bait and the shinobi on standby will capture them or at least kill them if capturing is not an option. But Gaara will be taking the biggest risk exposing himself to the enemy. "If this plan fails you could be captured or worse."
"I understand your concern but they'll be coming after me sooner or later, at least this way we'll be prepared for when or if they make their move." Gaara said willing to take the risk despite his brother and sister not feeling comfortable with him risking his life this way.
"Kids got more bravery and conviction then his father did when he was alive. Let's just hope this doesn't cost him his life, the world needs more leaders like him." Shikaku said as they continue the meeting.
A small lake near the Ember city.
Nowaki took Xion to a lake near Ember city in the forest. Nowaki had to improvise considering he didn't really plan anything out for their date. He's never thought about this stuff much, the only type of romantic relationship he has is with Sveta and they barely see each other, and they don't really go out on dates (If you don't count spending time in their own mental world or talking with each other telepathically a date)
Nowaki thinking on how to make a date fun suggested they could make a sancastle as big as they can. Xion had no problem with that so they got to work on it however Xion did suggest that they should do it without relying on their abilities seeing it would be too easy which Nowaki agreed to.
After about 2 hours they finished making the castle about as tall as 200 Centimeters.
Xion thinking ahead made banto boxes which Nowaki enjoyed. "So what do you think?" Xion asked referring to the banto.
"It taste great. When did you start learning how to cook this good?" Nowaki asked still eating.
"Shizune taught me a few things about cooking, she's a really good teacher." Xion answered.
"Well she's been taking care of big sis for a very long time and training me also. She's like the ultimate maid." Nowaki said picturing Shizune in maid outfit. "Or if not the ultimate housewife."
Xion blushed at that statement. "Speaking of which what's your idea of a good wife? I'm just curious."
"Nothing really? Well... So long as they don't act like Sakura or big sis I'm good." Nowaki answered.
"Really? I heard most boys prefer girls that share some similarity with a mother/sister figure?" Xion asked confused.
"Really?" Nowaki said thinking about some of the females that he knows. "Well, I wouldn't mind if they were similar to Shizune especially in the body department."
"Huh? Ok that is surprising? I figured you would go for girls with big boobs like lady Tsunade?" Xion inquired.
"Well I don't mind big boobs but I'm more of a hip, legs, and ass kind of guy. If their breasts are medium or flat that really wouldn't matter to me." Nowaki answered honestly.
"So Nowaki likes them thect around the hips, huh?" Xion said taking a moment to look at her breast that haven't really developed much but looked at her thighs which are and inwardly cheered. "Soooo, It's safe to say that I'm your time, right?" Xion asked looking at Nowaki.
Nowaki unprepared almost choked on his food before washing it down with water. He then looked at his closest female friend's body and realized that he pretty much fell for a trap. Seeing no way out he answer the best way he could. "Well...yes." Nowaki said before going back to eating completely avoiding eye contact.
Xion smiled and laughed a bit at Nowaki's response. "Hey Nowaki, could you lean over for a minute?"
"Sure is there something you want to-" Nowaki was once again unprepared as Xion delivered a kiss directly to his lips. Xion taking advantage of his surprise push herself and him to the ground continuing to kiss while putting her arms around his head. On instinct or just not knowing what to do Nowaki wrapped his arms around Xion's back. Xion stopped the kiss to whispered something to Nowaki while blushing as she positioned herself so that she was sitting with her legs on each side of Nowaki's thighs before laying on him again to kiss him
Nowaki was surprised by the request but granted it none the less. He leaned up And placed his hands on Xion's thighs before rubbing them, he hesitated to go for a certain place but moved to grope Xion butt. Xion didn't do anything but continued the kiss showing that she didn't mind.
After a good 2 minutes the two finally separated and Nowaki finally came back to his senses. "What? What was that about?!" Nowaki complained his mind trying hard to process what Just happen.
Xion Although blushed in embarrassment smile before getting up. "Nothing really, just making it clear how I want things to be between us. We don't have to act differently in public, but when it's just the 2 of us... Well I'm sure you get the picture." Xion said before walking away saying it was getting late so they should head back to the dorms. "Also this place is beautiful, so not bad for just winging it."
"What?" Nowaki said still blushing with confusion and embarrassed as his eyes were now swirls. "That doesn't really answer anything!"
Ember Academy dorms, night
Nowaki and Xion went back to the dorms. Sure they could have went back to the leaf village but Nowaki needed to meet up with Emilio in the morning so they can prepare for the video project. Xion because of Kendo weekend training classes.
Nowaki couldn't sleep because of what happened with Xion and Desperately needed to talk to someone. He thought about Tsunade or Shizune but him and Xion deliberately kept their date a secret Knowing that those 2 would make a big deal about it and would have had them followed just to know what happened meaning even more embarrassment.
He thought of Choji or Lee but 50/50 chance if he told them then the others would know and might interrogate him for details.
Then he thought of Naruto and then paused. He heard about what happened to twilight city, and tried to call him but got no response. He thought about asking Sveta but realized that she doesn't carry a phone, any time they see each other it's when she comes to visit. "Oh what the heck I'll give it another try!" Nowaki once again attempted to call Naruto. After a few rings it went straight to voicemail. "Well that was another failure... oh well, I guess I should just suck it up and try to go to sleep, I have a job to do it tomorrow." Nowaki said turning in for the night.
In Xion room she was having a tough time sleeping herself thinking about what she did with Nowaki at the end of their date. "I still can't believe I did that! Making a big move on Nowaki like that! Who knows how someone as dense headed as him will handle it, he's probably overloading his brain trying to process this, I'm pretty much overloading myself right now!" Xion said bearing her head in her pillow. She won't lie that she had a thing for Nowaki for some time that grew into romantic feelings but just never acting on them because she liked being friends with him more. Bronya having feelings for Nowaki wasn't a big bother considering the CRA meant he can have multiple wives and figured she had plenty of time to go first given Bronya's more romantic scientific side and robotic demeanor made romantic development pretty slow.
However when Xion heard about Sveta from Nowaki mostly about her having a clear romantic relationship with him made her obviously jealous although she never admit that. And to make matters worse the last time she hung out with Sakura and the girls she, Hinata, and Tenten talked about a girl that they met from the black spider clan named Serenity who was clinging to Nowaki because he was immune to her poison. Nowaki was oblivious to it but who knows if they meet again and she might make a move.
Not knowing what to do Xion decided to ask for advice. She thought really hard about who she should go to, Sakura and Ino were her first choice but given that they didn't have boyfriends themselves their advice wouldn't be that helpful. Tenten was more interested in ninja training then romance so no on her. Hinata has a boyfriend so she was a good option so she went to her but Hinata said she didn't have any real useful advice to give her other than to just be honest with her feelings, she looking for more directive advice than motivational. The only other person she thought to ask was Kim.
Kim had plenty of directive advice one of which was to screw the whole wait for him to notice your charm and be direct with it. In other words be forward and make him notice your feelings. Xion wasn't sure she could be that direct but Kim assured her that if she knows that other girls are interested in Nowaki then it's best to develop their relationship now before the others do that It may determine how much time she spend with him and your place in the harem. (Well I mean It worked for her.)
"Well I can't say her advice didn't help, it did get my feelings across. But that 2nd advice about talking with Sveta seems a bit nerve racking." Xion said thinking about Kim's 2nd advice. She soon went to sleep.
The next day, Leaf village, morning
It was now the day of the Chunin exam. Sakura was just leaving the Hokage's tower after talking with Tsunade about about Naruto. (Read NightFox 2 chapter 5)
She made her way to the Ninja Academy to meet up with Ino and Choji
There were alot of foreign ninjas waiting in line and Sakura saw her team waiting by a tree as they saw her coming. "Hey Sakura! Where have you been? I was worried that you might have changed your mind at the last second?" Ino said.
"Sorry about that I was just taking with Lady Tsunade about if she heard anything from Naruto." Sakura said causing an awkward silence. They heard about what happened to twilight city and went there to see how bad it was. It was definitely worse than they thought as many homes were destroyed and ruined and A lot of people died, and to their surprise and horror Hayner was among the casualties. Choji was the most sad about that considering they became friends during their field trip there. Sakura seeing how depressed the situation is decided to lighten it up. "Now come on you two! We know Naruto is probably hurting right now, but he would want us to concentrate on the Chunin exam. Us feeling sad won't help him and it definitely won't help us."
"Yeah! You're right! Let's do this! Not just for ourselves but for Naruto who's probably cheering us on from afar!" Ino said getting pumped.
"Yeah! Let's get this exam started! I'm gonna work extra hard for both Naruto and Hayner!" Choji said now fired up.
"Hey could you guys do one more Yeah for the Camera?" Nowaki asked holding a video camera.
"Yeah!" The new team 10 said before they notice Nowaki who was still video taping them.
Sakura and Ino were definitely embarrassed. "Delete that!" They both said.
"Spoil sports." Nowaki said deleting what he taped.
"Shouldn't you be with Emilio? I mean you are his camera man." Ino said.
"I'm just testing out the camera and taking some clips before the exam starts. Emilio said can, while he's taking notes about the participants. Although iI'll have to meet up with him to Interviewing Shikamaru and Tamari before the first exam starts." Nowaki answered.
"Wait? Shikamaru is the proptor of the first exam?" Sakura said.
"Oh crap baskets I wasn't supposed to say that, wasn't I? Just forget I said that, And also no I don't know what the first exam is gonna be." Nowaki answered.
"We weren't expecting you to." Ino said. They then noticed from a distance that Konohamaru, Udon, and Moegi walking away defeated after trying to go to enter the Chunin exams. "Hey isn't that Konohamaru and his friends?"
"Oh yeah I see them. I guess Konohamaru really wants to catch up to Naruto." Sakura said as she and Nowaki waved at them.
The young kids notice them and waved back although when Konohamaru noticed Nowaki he had a somewhat angry look on his face and ran away. Udon notice this and ran after him while Moegi did an apologetic bow before following after them too.
"Yep, that kid still has it out for me." Nowaki said sounding a bit saddened.
"I thought he would have gotten over it by now." Sakura said sounding a bit disappointed.
Choji and Ino were confused with Choji asking what they were talking about.
"Well you may not have noticed but that kid kinda hates me and my sister for basically taking over his grandpa's old job." Nowaki answered surprising them.
"I told you Nowaki it's not like that! Konohamaru is still dealing with the loss of the 3rd Hokage and Lady Tsunade suddenly becoming the 5th Hokage. And on top of that he wasn't exactly happy with Naruto leaving the Leaf village." Sakura explained. "He just feels like It was too early for us to have a new Hokage is all."
"That's kinda sugar coating it Sakura. But I'm not bothered too bad about it, I just hate that he glears daggers at me and my sister." Nowaki said. After Naruto left the village every now and again Konohamaru would challenge him to a fight for the right to be the next Hokage and who is Naruto's best disciple. He wins obviously but that doesn't help improve they're situation. If anything it makes Konohamaru dislike him More but train harder.
(OK I feel I should explain this now because I know you guys are probably confused and surprised. You see I did intend to do this but at the time when I was writing Tales of the Elemental Nations I completely forgot about it, and Konohamaru for that matter. It's basically Konohamaru and his disapproval of Tsunade becoming the 5th Hokage. I know it was settled in one day but I wanted to expand upon that, creating a sort of conflict for Konohamaru to work over. As for his dislike of Nowaki it's because of his goal to also become Hokage which he still wants to do Except for different motivations now, details later. Also Konohamaru considered himself to be Naruto's rival/apprentice but with Nowaki being on the same team as Naruto he had more chances to learn under him because Konohamaru was in the ninja Academy while Naruto was on missions and training Nowaki in group training meet ups. So he feels like him and his grandfather are being replaced and no one seems to care which isn't true. But anyway back to the story.)
Ninja Academy
Nowaki and Emilio were watching as the participants were going into different rooms as Nowaki was video taping and Emilio was watching everything and taking notes.
He noticed Shikamaru and Tamari heading for a different room which caught his curiosity. "I'm Interested in how Shikamaru is going to test them. Do you have any ideas?"
"No clue, Shikamaru is crazy smart that I don't think anyone can figure out how his brain works." Nowaki said trying in vain to figure out what the 1st exam could be. "Hey sampai, wouldn't it be funny if this test was so hard that everyone would fail?"
"I hope not otherwise this video project would be way too short." Emilio said before walking towards the room Shikamaru went into and motioned for Nowaki to follow him.
When they entered the room they saw Shikamaru Explaining the exam. It was a paper test. Each member of each team has to answer a question to get points and after 30 minutes the test will be over and they will combine all the points of each team member. The goal was to get 100 points, any score lower or higher results in failure and they're not allowed to leave the room.
"Ok, you all may start!" Shikamaru said beginning the test. Shikamaru then turned his attention to Nowaki and Emilio. "So what do you two think?" Shikamaru said in his usual tone.
"I say you created quite a conundrum. How long do you think it will take before they figure out the real problem of your test?" Emilio asked observing the patients.
"I say maybe 4 minutes after shaking their heads about how confusing it is." Shikamaru said.
"What do you guys means? How hard did you make the questions, Shikamaru?" Nowaki asked.
"I didn't make them hard at all." Shikamaru said handing Nowaki one of the test papers.
Nowaki looked at the test and was now very confused. These questions weren't hard. two were mutable choice questions and the last one a written question. Then how is the test so difficult... "Wait? How is the team supposed to have an average of a 100 if they're in different classrooms?"
"That's the point." Tamari said. "This all depends on how well they know their teammates or if they can find a way to communicate with each other despite being separate. Honestly I think he did too good of a job making this test."
"What? They told me to make something challenging, And this is the most challenging thing I could think of. Besides There's no rule saying that they can't communicate with each other they just have to stay in the room." Shikamaru said observing the participants as they were now trying trying to figure out a way too communicate with their teammates from the other rooms.
"For them all to have an equal score of a 100, one group would have to pick the 40 point question and the other two pick the 30 point question. The only problem is getting that information to the others." Emilio said as he saw many genin banging on the walls calling out their teenage names. "That won't work, that's just making pointless noise."
Nowaki was astonished by how difficult this test was. If he was taking this test with either Sakura and Naruto he would stumped. He was running a scenario in his head in chibi form. How would he contact them without anyone noticing. Wait, why would he need to do it secretly if there's no penalty for them talking with other participants. Then noticing the banging on the wall he got an idea. "What if they all worked together to get a message through the wall? Like one group Decides to pick the 40 point question and then send a signal telling the other groups to go for the 30 point question? That way they'll all pass."
"That would definitely be better than all of them randomly yelling." Tamari said.
"Not a bad idea, and it looks like Neji came to the same conclusion." Emilio said as explained his plan using strong vibrations to send the message, they just had to hit the wall 3 times. A sand ninja offered to do it and hit the wall 3 times Until suddenly he hit it again. "Well, looks like we have ourselves some unfriendly competition."
"Why would he do that!? They were all going to pass!" Nowaki yelled Not understanding why the sand ninja would mess up Neji's plan. The Sand Ninja said It was stupid and pointless trying to help everyone pass the 1st exam clearly he wants to get rid of as many participants as possible meaning less competition. "What an asshole!"
"This probably means he's found his own way to contact his team. Now let's see what Neji's going to do." Shikamaru said seeing the prodigy of the Hyuga clan hit the wall 3 more times which led to the sand ninja to hit it one more time and Neji hit it one more time too. Neji then called out asking if they could fight leading to Shikamaru to say over the Intercom for them to stop. After the room went quiet Shikamaru smirked. "Man, looks like Neji used me."
Nowaki and even Tamari was confused until Emilio explained.
"The wall was hit a total of 10 times, If the others were to interpret the signal it would be telling them to answer the 50 point question, bringing their points to 100."
"Then any point question they answer would make them go beyond 100, so how can they-" Nowaki was wondering out loud until the answer hit him. "Ohhh! So that means they don't have to answer a single question! Good idea Neji! ...wait is that allowed?" Nowaki asked Shikamaru.
"Yeah it is. I just said their teams total points had to be 100." Shikamaru answered.
"So what exactly is the premise of this exam? The 1st exam last time was about being able to gather information covertly and not giving up just because of an unknown challenge." Tamari said remembering Ibeki's writing test in first part of the Chunin exams.
"Yeah his was a good example, Although for this exam it's all about staying calm and think You're situation out while also seeing how much you trust your teemmates. That being said what I'm about to do is really going to put that to the test." Shikamaru hot on the loudspeaker agains as the timer finally reach 0. He unveiled a bonus question. "Your team is on a mission and you're surrounded by enemies, in order to get away one of your teammates has to stay behind to be the decoy, who should it be? Write your answer on the back of your paper, the team member that you pick will be disqualified from the exam. You have 3 minutes."
"What? What kind of question is that?" Nowaki wondered.
"Okay, I think we got enough footage here so we'll just wait outside." Emilio said and telling Nowaki they were heading outside. As they were walking Emilio spoke. "So Nowaki, if you were taking the test right now whose name would you put to be the decoy?"
"Well... most likely Me." Nowaki answered. Emilio asked why. "Well I'm pretty strong I'm sure I can handle those enemies, I say leave the guy that you know will make it back alive." Nowaki said.
Emilio smiled before pushing his glasses up. "That is a good answer and a very practical one, but that wouldn't get you pass Shikamaru's test."
"What do you mean?"
"Let's wait till the end of the first exam I'm sure he'll explain it." Emilio answered.
Outside Nowaki was filming as the participants were coming out. He noticed that a majority of them came out with all 3 members and only team Sajin, the sand ninja who tried to ruin Neji's plan had 2 members.
When Shikamaru and Tamari came out Tamari announced that anyone who doesn't have their full team is disqualified.
"What?!" The sand ninja whose name is Sajin yelled asking why he was disqualified when he answered the 2nd question.
"Its because in order to continue in the exam you still need all 3 members of your team. Everyone should be aware of that, that's why the 2nd question was obviously a trick." Someone answered and everyone turned to see a new arrival walks on stage. To everyone's including the leaf genin it was Koinzell who is now taller around the height of Neji wearing a short sleeve black shirt with a spider insignia on the back with standard black shanobi pants and shanobi shoes, he had fingerless gloves that reached midway to his elbow with metal on the knuckles, and his hairstyle was still the same.
"And Just who the hell are you!" Sajin yelled Not knowing who Koinzell is.
"I'm the preliminary proptor and I'm telling you that you're disqualified. So quit your Yappin, Get lost and better luck next time." Koinzell said.
"Oh yeah! Well what if I say no!" Sajin yelled angry that he was disqualified and ready to start trouble.
"This" Koinzell said snapping his fingers and suddenly Sajin disappeared without a trace shocking nearly everyone. The last member of Sajin's team was so scared that he wasted no time in running away. "Smart move. Anyone else have something to complain about?" Koinzell's question was answered by silence. "Good."
Almost all of the participants were either scared or intimidated.
"Wow! Koinzell is as Intimidating as ever, and it looks like he learned a new trick too." Nowaki said.
"It's been quite a while since I've seen that person." Emilio said. Since he was part of the graduating class of team Guy he was also there on their field trip when Koinzell attacked them in Unohana's test. "If I recall my information There was a rumor of him being related to your old teammate Naruto."
"He's his older half brother, just as smart as him too." Nowaki said still filming.
"Ok now that that's taken care of back to the rest of you." Koinzell said looking at the remaining teams. "Like I said I'm a preliminary prompter. I'll say Congratulations on passing the 1st exam but there are too many of you so we're gonna have to Trim you down some."
"You're not going to have us fight are you?" A female Sand Ninja asked.
"No, it's way too early that. You all are gonna race to the next exam location." Koinzell said using Projection magic to show a map. "The Next exam location is in the demon desert in the land of wind and your team has to reach it in 2 and a 1/2 days, That's 60 hours from now. You're allowed to use any shortcut or method of getting there I don't really care which, You just have to show up with all members of your team. That's all, you may start." Koinzell said turning off the projection.
"Wait that's all? Aren't we allowed to ask questions?"
"Yeah, Besides it takes 3 days to reach the land of wind. How do you expect us to make it in 2?"
"Not my problem, Like I said use any means of getting there." Koinzell said not caring about their complaints.
"This is completely unfair!" A lot of the participants were complaining calling him harsh and unfair.
"I've just said you may start and All of you are wasting your time asking questions and calling me names?" Koinzell said Reminding them that the Preliminary test has just started. This made the participants that were complaining earlier start moving. "That's what I thought." Koinzell said feeling victorious.
"Geez! Leave it to Koinzell to throw them into a harsher challenge after just finishing Shikamaru's." Nowaki said. "So now what do we do?" He asked Emilio.
"Well we're not participants so we're taking the train from Ember city to Windmill city the land of wind's modern city. Then head to the demon desert from there." Emilio explained. "Go home and pack, we'll meet at the train station tonight." Emilio said before leaving saying that he'll see him tonight.
"Ok, I'll see later then." Nowaki said wondering what he should do until then. He saw Koinzell about to leave and quickly ran over the catch up. "Hey Koinzell, wait up a minute!"
"If It's for an interview then sorry to burst your bubble but I don't do that stuff." Koinzell said not looking to be interviewed.
"Don't worry it's not that, I just wanted to talk, I mean I wasn't expecting you to be a proptor for the exam." Nowaki said.
"Yeah me neither, Suzume was supposed to do this but she's doing an important mission right now. So me and Araya have to fill in." Koinzell answered.
"Where is Araya right now?"
"He's at Windmill city getting everything ready for the 2nd phase of the exam. "I'm going to take a train there to meet up with him." Koinzell answered.
"Why take a train? You can teleport." Nowaki pointed out.
"Because I like to travel and I don't like relying on it to much." Koinzell said.
"By the way, how do you expect them to get to this demon desert in 3 days?"
"That's up to them. If it's their own ninjas I'm sure they'll probably use another route that they know of, Everyone else still have to improvise or push themselves to take less breaks. But then they can just say screw it I'm taking a train there."
"But Isn't that cheating?" Nowaki asked.
"I said they can use any means of getting there. In Is some situations where you have to be somewhere at a certain time you have to consider all your options of transportation to get there. So think of this as a test to see how well they can Improvise." Koinzell said. "Well I think that's enough check chat for now I'll talk to you later Nowaki."
"Oh, ok then." Nowaki said as a parted ways. After a few minutes he realize Is something he also wanted to Koinzell. "Oh dang it! I Wanted to ask him if he heard from Naruto!"
Train, Ember city to Windmill city.
Later that night Nowaki and Emilio were on a train to Windmill city which should take them a day. The train they were on had rooms to stay in. They also noticed that Tamari and Shikamaru were taking the train too, and surprisingly there were at least 2 or 3 teams actually taking the train.
Shikamaru and Tamari were talking about the 2nd phase of the exam. Koinzell seem to be in a different cart of the train. Emilio and Nowaki were in their room with Emilio on the top bunk looking at the camcorder and writing his report on the Chunin exam so far, while Nowaki is laying down on the bottom bunk looking up. "So what do you know about Windmill city?" Nowaki asked Emilio.
"Well other then it's not in the desert part of the land of wind nothing really. Although I did hear that They're building something called a magnet trolley. It's supposed to be a way to easily traverse from the grass plains of the land of wind to the desert." Emilio said.
"A trolley in a desert? Won't that defeat the purpose of escort missions?" Nowaki said.
"Yes It would. Lately the government of that country has been going through lots of changes, It's gotten to the point that there's no longer really dependent on the sand village. How ironic that it's decisions like this that made the sand attack the leaf 2 years ago." Emilio explained.
"...Hey senpai, do you think the Sand will do something drastic during the Chunin exams again because of this?" Nowaki asked thinking back to his dream about Black Shukaku.
"Who knows, but from what I've seen of their ninja so far their desperate enough to do anything." Emilio said.
Nowaki then got up. "Hey I'm about to go for a walk I'll be back."
"Okay."
Nowaki was wandering around walking into a different cart but saw no he knew. However he did notice one group of sand ninja and then something strange happened the whole train cart changed into a trolley and all around him were scared and depressed people. Some civilians and some ninjas. "What? What is this?"
The silence then ended when a civilian man walked over to the ninja. "This Is all your fault! Every time something good happens to this country you you sand and just always have to ruin it for everyone else!"
"Hey! Who do you think you're talking to! We had no idea about that Iron monster! It just showed up From underground and started destroying stuff, Our team barely survived and escaped!"
"And While you cowards were escaping We all were getting crushed to death by a monster That said it was created by one by you Ninjas!" the man said as he and the ninja began to argue.
"Why are they arguing about this now? Aren't any of them worried about lord Gaara!? He had to fight that monster on his own and no one has seen him since!" A woman said worried and crying.
"He was such a great leader more than his father was. I only wish he knew how much we appreciate him and regretted for how we treated him as a kid." A man said looking regretful.
Nowaki was all sorts of confused as he looked out the window to see From a distance that the sand village was destroyed and all around the area dead Sand ninjas. "Excuse me sir there a problem?"
Nowaki looked Add the direction of the voice to see that he was back on the train as people were looking at him weirdly and then suddenly it cut back to the dreadful trolley cart. This kept happening over and over as people were arguing on the trolley cart and people on the train asking him if he was OK. "Oh God I'm losing my mind!" Nowaki said holding his head as he slipped in-and-out of dream and reality.
"Make it stop! Make it Stop! MAKE IT STOP!" Nowaki yelled as A powerful shockwave admitted from him knocking out everyone on the train cart he was on. But on the bright side divisions finally stopped. "What?!" Nowaki said seeing the unconscious bodies. "What just happened?"
"You just made it easy for us to get you alone." Nowaki hard a voice from behind and turned to see Sin at the train cart. Her hair was mostly the same although it grew out a bit in the back. She was Is wearing a purple trench coat with with black shorts and long dark purple stockings with matching shoes. As for her height she was a round Sakura's.
"Sin! if you're here then... He standing right behind me isn't he." Nowaki said turning around while summoning his gartlets and pointed them at Yuyake now in his nightmare uniform.
"Hey Nowaki it's been awhile, hasn't it." Yuyake said nonchalant.
"What do you two want, and what did you do to these people?" Nowaki demanded.
"To your 2nd question, We didn't do anything that was all you." Yuyake said while motioning for Sin to do something as her concealed yellow eye glowed. "As to your 1st question, we need to talk."
End of ChapterAnd finally done! Once again sorry for my less frequent updates I was trying to get this one out Last week but Unfortunately I was suffering from writers block. Right now after this I'm working on Green brother and the next chapter of NightFox.
Hopefully I'll get this done quicker since I'm in a good mood. After all my job just got bought by a new company that Bringing in new things and I just got to pay bonus, So yeah I'm very happy right now!Also, like I said before the Konohamaru dislike for Tsunade and Nowaki is for character conflict. This will play apart in the story just give a time. Let me know your thoughts on this.
Also what do you make of Nowaki's visions? It's not really future Vision But more similar to Cisco's ability. And I shall let you know Naruto does not have this ability, Which probably leads to the question why was he able to see visions in the last story. I obviously know the answer but let me know if you figured it out.
