Chapter 32: Lexa

After Finn showed his ass, Clarke decided to head home. She said that she had an early morning at the hospital, but I think she is just upset. I ask her if I can take her home, but she says that she just needs some sleep and time to think. I ask, "Are you sure? I would feel a lot better if you would let me make sure you get home alright."

She says, "I promise, I'll be fine. He isn't stupid enough to try anything tonight. Besides, he is too drunk to drive. I will call you when I get home, and if he does happen to show up, you will be my first call."

"Fine, I will give you your space, but I don't have a good feeling, so please be careful."

She kisses me on the cheek and then walks out. I look over at O and say, "Shots?"

She looks at me and says, "Sure."

Clarke

On the ride home from the Dragon's Den, I replay in my head the confrontation with Finn and begin to wonder if I should have let Lexa follow me home. Finally, I conclude that my initial thinking was correct, and he is too drunk to drive over here tonight, so I should be fine.

When I get home, I get changed into my nightshirt, heading to bed because I have to be at the hospital at seven in the morning for morning rounds. I'm almost asleep when I hear someone banging and yelling at the door. When I get downstairs, I find Finn is the one doing the banging. I tell him to go away, but he doesn't. Instead, he says that if I don't open the door, he will kick it in. I'm so scared that I freeze and can't do anything but start to cry. Soon I hear the neighbor say that she is calling the police if he doesn't leave. I guess this puts him over the edge, and he kicks in the door. I try to run for my phone, but he catches me in the dining room.

I try to fight him off, but he is bigger and stronger than I am. He pushes me up against the table, ripping my shirt open. I smack him across the face, and he backhands me. He begins undoing his belt, and I try running, but he pushes me down face first on the table and rips off my underwear. Again, I try to fight him off, but he slams my face into the table until I lose conscience. When I wake up, he's holding me down with his forearm across the back of my neck and is already inside me. I make another attempt to get away by reaching around, scratching him, but it only pisses him off more, and he thrusts harder causing me to grip the table's edge and just shut down.

I try to think about Lexa and how I wish she were here to protect me and how I want to get to know her better. Anything to keep from thinking about what he is doing to me. Unfortunately, I can't focus on anything but the pain and his voice. He is talking nonstop about how he wouldn't have to do this if I had stayed with him. Instead, I had let that bitch get in my head, making me think that I wanted her, but I don't because, according to him, I'm not like her. He just won't shut up, and the pain is becoming unbearable. I feel like I'm going to pass out. Still, he just keeps talking about how after he is finished with me, no one will ever want to be with me because I'll be broken, and every time I have sex, I will remember that it was him that ruined me for everyone else, especially that bitch, Lexa. All I can do is lay there and cry.

Suddenly, I hear Lexa's voice, but that can't be right because how would she know that I need her. I didn't have time to call her. It has to be my wishful thinking. I hear Finn say, "Oh yeah, that's right. I'm almost…say my name, Clarke. You know you like this. That bitch can't make you feel the way I do." He yells, "Ahh…" as he comes, then he collapses onto my back. The next thing I know, he yells, "What the fuck!" and I feel him being ripped from inside me and off of me.

When I can stand, I turn around see Lexa, with him in a chokehold whispering something into his ear before slamming him to the floor and pummeling him. How did she know to come?

Lexa

We have a couple of shots and then dance for a while, but then I get this feeling in my gut that something's wrong. I can't pinpoint it, but I just know that I need to get to Clarke because something's wrong. So I find O, "I have to go."

"What? Why?"

"I think something is wrong with Clarke. I just need to go, now!"

"I'm coming with you! Let's go!"

When we pull up to Clarke's house, we see Finn's car parked sideways in her yard. I pull up to the curb and jump out. The neighbor comes running over and says, "I called the cops, but they haven't arrived yet. He's been here for about twenty minutes. He looked drunk and was banging on the door, but she wouldn't let him in. I came out and told him I was calling the cops, but he told me to mind my own business."

I look at the old lady, "Where is he now?"

She says, "I'm not sure, but I think he kicked in the door a little while ago."

I look at Octavia and say, "Get your phone out and ready to record in case something happens. I've learned that this helps when the cops ask for what happens."

I take off running with O right behind me. When I get to the door, I see that it has been kicked in. I hear crying and shouting coming from the dining room. I rush in and stop dead in my tracks at what I saw. I stop so suddenly that O runs into the back of me. He apparently doesn't hear us come in but what I see makes the monster explode from the darkness.

He has Clarke bent over the dining room table with her t-shirt ripped, and her underwear is missing. His pants are around his ankles as he thrusts himself into her while holding her down. He has his forearm across the back of her neck so that she can't move. She is gripping the edge of the table so hard that her knuckles are white. I hear him saying, "You know you like it rough like this, and your little dyke can't give it to you like I can. Say my name, Clarke. That's it…aah, doesn't this feel so good."

Clarke whimpers, "Finn, stop!" But he doesn't. He just keeps going.

It only takes seconds for me to evaluate the scene and take all of this in. Then, I hear O say, "Oh my God." Right before I grab him from behind in a chokehold pulling him off of Clarke.

He yells, "What the fuck!" Then, when he realizes it is me, he starts to laugh. I begin to squeeze tighter around his neck, and he says, "Sorry, bitch, she's worthless to you now that she has had a real man. She doesn't need you, right Clarke. Now that you have been broken, no one will want you, and you will always remember who broke you. You…"

He cannot finish his sentence because I cut off his air supply turning him blue. All I have to do is squeeze a little more, and I will snap his neck, but that is too good for him. It would be painless, and he deserves lots of pain. So I release the hold on his neck, and he stands, gasping for air. Once he is breathing again, he begins to laugh, "I thought you're a big bad killer, so why did you let me go?"

"I let you go because I need you to feel pain like Clarke did. The last person that raped someone I cared about lost his head to my sword along with his dick. Unfortunately, I had to kill him quickly, but lucky for me, I get to take my time with you."

He looks startled for a second and then lunges at me. I dodge his fist and sweep his legs so that he lands hard on the floor. As soon as he lands, I'm on top of him, landing punch after punch to his face. I hear Octavia and Clarke yelling for me to stop, but by this time, the monster has completely taken over, and I am on a mission to make him feel helpless, just like she did.

O finally tackles me, making me stop, but I throw her off, taking a step towards him. Clarke yells, "Alexandria Sahar Trikru, stop!"

Her voice stops me dead in my tracks along with that name, and the monster begins to recede back into the darkness. That is until I hear him grunt, "You were too late, bitch. I finish what I start."

I pull out my knife, diving onto him. I place the blade of my knife against his dick. "I may have been too late to stop you, but who is going to stop me from cutting this off and using it on you like you did her."

In my fit of rage, I didn't hear the cops show up until the male officer said, "I'm going to need you to get off of him and put down the knife."

I look up to see two officers standing there looking at me. I say, "I can't do that until I make him feel the way she did, helpless."

The female officer says, "It's okay now. By the looks of his face, I think he understands what it feels like to be helpless. So please just calm down and put down the knife. I don't want to have to use my taser on you or arrest you, so just put it down."

"You don't understand! He needs to feel the pain of being violated. Getting the shit beat out of you is nothing compared to how it feels to have someone force themselves on you like he did to her." I can feel the tears flowing down my cheeks now. I hate the fact that I can't control them.

Finn finally comes to his senses and says, "Get her off of me. She attacked me while I was having sex with my girlfriend because she is jealous." Then he notices my tears and says, "Is the big bad hero crying? Aw, you are so weak!"

That's it, I snap. I let the knife go landing a hard elbow to Finn's head, knocking him out. Then I roll off of him and get up. Clarke runs to me, and I open my arms to catch her. As soon as she's in my arms, she buries her head in my chest, crying. I just hold her kissing the top of her head until the female officer walks over to us and says, "Do you have any more weapons on you?"

I look over the top of Clarke's head, "Yes, ma'am, I do. I have another knife in the sheath on my belt and one in my boot. Would you like for me to get it, or do you want to?"

She says, "I would appreciate it if you would slowly take them out and hand them to me. Then we can figure out what happened here once I know everyone is safe."

I do as I'm told, slowly handing her the knives. She introduces herself as officer Ava Allison, and her partner is officer Kaden Ware. I, in turn, introduce myself, O, and Clarke. Then I say, "The scumbags name is Finn."

She asks, "What happened?" and before I can answer, Octavia and the neighbor told her that they have most of it on camera.

While they look at the evidence, I just hold Clarke. Whispering in her ear that everything will be alright. Once the paramedics arrive, they start to work on Finn. It doesn't take long for him to wake up and begin yelling and screaming for them to arrest me for assault with intent to kill. Once he is stabilized and cleared by the medics, officer Ware cuffs him and puts him into the patrol car listening to his side of the story.

Once everyone realizes what actually happened, the paramedics ask Clarke if she wants them to do a rape kit so that she can press charges. She looks at me like she wants me to tell her what to do. I say, "Ya Amar, it's up to you. I support whatever you choose to do."

She turns to officer Allison asking, "If I do press charges for rape, will there be a trial?"

She replies, "More than likely given who his parents are. I know their type. They will try and make out like he is innocent…it won't be pretty. I do suggest going ahead with letting them do the kit and collect the evidence just in case you change your mind, or they try and turn it around on your girlfriend."

I start to stutter, "What? We-we're not…she isn't my-my girlfriend. She's just a…wait, what do you mean turn it around on me. I didn't do anything but protect her."

Officer Allison says, "I know, and we have the cell phone video to prove that along with everyone's statement, but his dad is the mayor, so there is no telling what they will try."

Clarke speaks up, "Fine, I'll let them collect whatever they need for evidence as long as they can do it in the ambulance. I don't want to go to the hospital because I work there. I want this to stay between everyone here, and I don't want anyone else to find out. So I don't want to pursue the rape charge, but I do, however, want to get a restraining order against him since he did break into my house."

Officer Allison turns to the paramedic and says for Clarke to follow her to the ambulance. Officer Allison says, "We will need to get your statement. We usually call the rape crisis center to send out a counselor to be present while giving the statement, and the evidence is collected. Is that alright?"

Clarke says, "As long as I don't have to go to the hospital. I don't want everyone that I work with to know what happened."

Officer Allison nods as Clarke reaches for me. I take her hand, following them to the ambulance. Once Clarke climbs into the ambulance, I say, "Clarke, I'll be right out here if you need me. Do you want me to call Abby?"

"Lex, please don't leave me!"

"I'm not going anywhere. I will be right outside waiting. I'm going to call Abby and let her know what's happened. Is that alright with you?"

"No, I don't want her to know. She will want to come immediately, and I…."

"Sweetie, I really feel like she should know. I'll make sure she knows that you don't want her to come, that we have everything under control."

"I don't know…." I give her a pleading look with my best puppy dog eyes. Finally, she groans, "Oh my God, how can I say no to those eyes. Now I know why you get whatever you want. It's because of those puppy eyes. Fine! But she better not come home because of this. Do you understand?"

"Yes, ma'am. Now be a good patient and let them do what they need to."

While the paramedics check out Clarke, I call Abby. Unfortunately, her phone goes to voicemail, so I leave her a message to contact me as soon as she can. About an hour later, the cops have all the evidence they need and the reports filed. She leaves us her card and tells us to call if we need anything. They take Finn with them, charging him with breaking and entering, public intoxication, and DUI.

The paramedic looks at Clarke, "Ma'am, you really need to see a doctor. You have some pretty significant tears that should be sewn up. Plus, you should really take the emergency contraceptive. But, unfortunately, we aren't allowed to carry it, so you will have to get it from a doctor."

Once they are gone, I ask Clarke, "Where do I need to take you to see a doctor?"

"I'm fine. I told you that I'm not going to the hospital."

"Honey, I understand that, but you heard what they said. You need to see a doctor. I can have one come to you if you prefer, but you need to see one."

"What I want to do is take a shower and go to bed."

"Fine! Do you want me to stay here with you tonight, or do you want to come home with me? I'm not leaving you alone."

"First, I want to take a long hot shower, and then I want to go home with you. I just need to get my work clothes and a few things. Is that okay with you?"

"That is perfect." I look at O and hand her the keys to the jeep and say, "You take the jeep, and I will stay here and drive her back to the yacht. We will see you at home in a little while, and remember that she doesn't want anyone to know about this."

Octavia takes the keys and says, "I understand. I will see you at home."

While Clarke gets a shower and collects what she needs, I rummage around the garage and find the materials required to secure the door until we can have it repaired. While I'm fixing the door, my phone rings. It's Abby, "Abby, thank God!"

"Lex, what's wrong?"

I can feel the tears threatening to come and try to hold them in unsuccessfully. "Sorry, I don't mean to…." Finally, I get myself composed before going on. "Abby, I need to tell you something, but you have to promise that you will not be on the first flight back home. I have the situation under control."

"What the hell are you talking about? I can't leave, or they will extend my contract for another six months. I'm due to come home in a few weeks."

"Exactly, that's why I need you to promise not to come now. We have it under control, and everything will be fine until you can come home for good."

"Lexa, I swear to God if you don't tell me right now what is going on, I am going to come through this phone and strangle you!"

I chuckle, "That would be a neat trick! Look, Clarke was attacked by Finn…."

She interrupts me, "What! How? Why? Is she okay? Let me speak to her!"

"Whoa…hold on and let me finish. Clarke's alright for the most part. She has a concussion, a few bruises, and cuts. She is refusing to go to the hospital even though the paramedics told her she should. I was hoping that you could call her doctor and have them come to the house just to check her over. Then I will be taking her home with me until we figure everything out. I promise I won't let anything else happen to her."

"I need to speak with her. Where is that asshole now?"

"I will have her call you when she gets out of the shower and checked by the doctor. Finn? Oh, he is headed to the hospital and then jail."

"Good! Thanks for calling me. I'm sure she didn't want you to. I will have a doctor over to the house soon. Don't let her leave until she gets checked out."

"Sure thing, Abby. I promise I'll take care of her."

After about thirty minutes, I begin to worry since Clarke still hasn't come downstairs. Finally, I head up the stairs when there is a light knock on the temporary door. I open the door to find a woman holding what looks like medical supplies. "Hello, may I help you?"

She looks at me with a quizzical look, "I'm looking for Clarke Griffin. Are you Lexa?"

"I am."

"I'm Dr. Charlotte Norman. I understand that Clarke was attacked and needs to be seen by a doctor."

"She does, but she isn't going to be happy about it. Are you an OB doctor?"

"Um…no, why?"

"Well…I didn't want to tell Abby, but Clarke was rapped. The paramedics said she had some significant tearing that would require stitches and needed emergency contraceptives. Are you able to help with these?"

"Although it isn't my specialty, I should be able to handle whatever she needs. Where is she?"

"I was just about to go check on her when you knocked. Please have a seat, and I will see what is taking so long."

As Dr. Norman sits, I head up the stairs in search of Clarke. I knock on the closed door of the bathroom, "Clarke, honey, are you alright? You've been in there for a long time." I can hear the water running but receive no answer. So I knock again, this time opening the door enough so that I can see inside. I can see her standing in the shower and hear her crying. I want to go in and take her in my arms to comfort her, but…I don't think it is a good idea. So instead, I say, "Clarke, you need to get out now, sweetie. You've been in there a long time now."

She says through her sobs, "I can't…I can't get him off me. I feel like…like he is still…and I can't get the bleeding to stop."

I begin to panic when she says that. "What! Why didn't you tell me? I would…"

"It's not so much that I will bleed to death. It just won't stop."

"Baby, I need for you to get out and dry off. Put on a shirt and lay in your bed. I have Dr. Norman downstairs, and she is going to come to fix you up."

"What? I told you I was fine and didn't want to be checked out."

"No. You said that you didn't want to go to the hospital or see anyone you knew. So, I had Abby send someone over. I didn't tell Abby everything, only that Finn attacked you. She would like you to call her after the doctor has finished."

"Fine! Give me a few minutes, then send her up."
