One day later Captain Kim entered the Sick Bay extension to speak to the Doctor
"Good evening Captain, how was your first day?"
"It was hard work, how are Tom and B'Elanna doing?"
"Why don't you go and talk to them yourself?"
A few minutes later
"Look B'Elanna, it's the Captain."
"Hello Starfleet, how was day one?"
"I hope you don't mind if I occasionally come to you for advice."
"Just make a suitable donation to our replicator rations and then ask away."
B'Elanna "So did Miral get promoted."
"Just like we discussed with our meeting with the Doctor last week. Commander Paris is now Chief Engineer, Commander Wildman is first officer and Lieutenant Commander Chakotay is second officer. Congratulations Tom and B'Elanna, you must be very proud of your daughter."
"She has been a great help to me in Engineering over the years. Did she explain why we can't easily get above warp 9.6."
"Yes she did. So how are you two enjoying your new quarters?"
Tom "We are enjoying the novelty of being able to relax and spend some time together. The Doc checks on us every day. We are hopeful of being mobile enough to get to the next shutdown party. It's up to you Harry to get us home as fast as possible. Hopefully some more advanced medical care will help prolong our lives."
B'Elanna took hold of the Captain's hands "Get us home Harry."
