I was sitting in the counselor's office as she prepared to talk to me. I always come to her at the end of the day of school since I have nothing important to do. Or because the teachers don't want to deal with me.

They gladly let me change my schedule so I wouldn't have to deal with them either. I'm a junior and have most of my credits to graduate high school. Your senior year is basically a year you can relax and enjoy yourself.

As soon as the counselor had her pen ready she looked up at me and smile. "Well, hello Mr. Freeman, how is your day going?" she asked all excited.

"It's the same as always, Ms. White," I told her as she wrote that down.

"Nothing interesting is going on in your life?" she asked as I sighed.

"A little bit of a complicated relationship at the moment," I told her as she perked up.

"Did you say a relationship, like you're dating a girl, or guy if you go that way?" she asked getting more excited. Why does everybody keep assuming I would date a guy?

"It's a girl and I wouldn't call it a full relationship," I simply corrected.

"Then what would you call it Mr. Freeman?" she asked. "I call it semi-dating," I said.

"And what is semi-dating in your opinion?" she asked getting ready to take down some notes. "Semi-dating is when you try dating for a certain amount of time to see if you two would fit for each other. Throughout that time limit you set boundaries with each other until you're official," I clarified.

"Okay, well how does your semi-girlfriend feel about this?" she awkwardly asked.

"At first she felt like she couldn't do anything with me, for instance, kiss, hug, or some other stuff," I said mumbling the last part. "Other stuff, like what?" she asked cocking her eyebrow.

"Uhh, it's private," I said avoiding the question. "Private you say?" she repeated.

"Yes, private, which means I keep it to myself," I said defining it for her.

"Okay, I'm sorry Mr. Freeman," she said letting it go.

"So are you getting comfortable in the relationship with her?" she asked.

"I don't know, I'm still hesitant to do anything with her. This is my first semi-relationship and I don't have much experience with it. You see she's been in tons of relationships so she knows what to do," I clarified.

"Did you ever ask her if she is okay with you doing certain things?" she asked clicking her pen. "We recently discussed breaking some boundaries. She is okay with the kissing and hugging," I simply stated.

"Okay, but are you okay with the kissing and hugging?" she asked reversing the question back to me. "To a certain extent, I don't want to trigger anything," I said referring to my sexual desires.

I wouldn't mind Jazmine hugging me because I can handle hugging. Most of the time when she is being silly she makes the hugs awkward.

The kissing is another thing. Instead of it being one kiss, she goes overboard sometimes. She likes to bite my lip and move her tongue around a lot.

It gets worst when she plants kisses on my neck and starts grinding her hips on my dick. She can get it if she wanted to, but I'm going to control my hormones. I'll just simply make her back off if it goes overboard.

"Ok, to a certain extent," she repeated writing it down. "Have you guys gone on any dates?" she asked as I had to think about it. Jazmine and I only went on one date and that was at her house.

"Just one!" I said holding up my finger.

"Okay and how was that?" she asked. "It was nice, we weren't interrupted by our friends and family, and we got to eat food we wanted instead of wasting it at a restaurant that barely offers any," I said.

"Okay, when do you plan to go on your next date with her?" she asked smiling at me. "I honestly don't know Ms. White, me and Ja- I mean semi-girlfriend barely have anything in common," I told her.

"What's your girlfriend's name?" she asked almost catching the name reveal. "Nobody she remains anonymous," I sternly spoke.

"Are you sure you don't want me to know?" she asked once again. "Yes, 100%," I said as she sighed.

I looked around the room to see if I could find a lock so that way I could leave. When I was able to find one it looked like our session was about to be over. "Look at the time we only have a minute left," I said as she looked at it.

"Same old same old Mr. Freeman, we're not getting very far," she said shaking her head. "That is the plan, Ms. White," I said getting up from my seat and grabbing my bag.

I was about to leave until she said: "Huey, I know you like to keep to yourself and you hate change, but maybe you should take a shot at this semi-dating or whatever you call relationship," she suggested. "I'll think about it," I said leaving her office.

As I walked the halls everybody was in the middle of the passing period. I caught a glimpse of strawberry hair walking in the opposite direction of me. I looked to see Jazmine with her folder in her hand, most likely heading to the counselor's office.

I went to the room where I held my club meetings at. When I entered I had seen Aaliyah who was already in here before me.

"You know I'm starting to believe that your 7th period is close to this room," I said setting down my bag. "You guessed right," she said playfully snapping her fingers.

"But honestly, I sometimes leave early since I'm done with most of my work, and I come here since it's peaceful," she said smiling.

"Okay, well glad my club room makes you feel safe from the school," I simply said grabbing a file.

I took a seat not far away from her and she looked over at me. "So, how was your weekend Huey?" she asked trying to start up a conversation. "Alright I guess. Nothing special happened. My friends and I gathered up at my house and we did our monthly game night," I simply said as she seemed interested.

"Really, what kind of games did you play?" she asked.

"It was brothers turn this month to pick a game, so he picked the lie detector test," I said as she looked at me funny. I wouldn't blame her for looking at me funny. Most kids would just play the truth game without a device but my brother wanted one to expose everybody.

"Lie Detector?" she re-questioned as I nodded my head.

"I wonder how that turned out," she said already getting bad ideas.

"It turned out both good and bad. We all got to discover some things about each other that we didn't even know," I said.

"What was so good about it, Freeman?" she asked smirking.

"The good thing about it is I gladly found out that my best friend and girlfriend aren't dating," I said as she gaped her mouth.

"Excuse me...your best friend and girlfriend?" she sternly questioned.

"Yes, my best friend and girlfriend," I sighed.

Aaliyah looked to be shocked at the moment. It's like it was the most unexpected thing she had ever heard in her life. She looked to be thinking to herself for a second until she spoke: "Why would your girlfriend be fucking around with your best friend if she is with you?"

"To be correct, she is my semi-girlfriend and my best friend doesn't know about me and her being in a semi-relationship," I said as she gave me another odd look.

"Huey, what the fuck is a semi-relationship?" she questioned just like the couceslor. "It's basically when you both test out dating," I clarified.

"Okay, why not just call that a relationship, or friends with benefits?" she asked.

"Well cause one, our relationship won't be official unless I want it to be, and two we're not fucking around with each other as friends," I corrected.

"Oh, so you and her had sex already," she said giving me a smug look. "Don't be nasty about it Aaliyah, we only did it once and agreed not to do it until we were official," I said ignoring her and whatever nasty thought she had in her head.

"So let's say you guys were official, would you only date her for the sex?" she asked making me glare at her. "Why the fuck would I only date her for sex?" I angrily asked her.

"Because at this age you guys are basically walking hormones, so all you think about is sex," she said. She's not exactly wrong, but I think more than just about sex.

"Okay, but that's not how all guys think, you know that, right?" I questioned as she started to think about it.

"I know not all guys think like that, but most guys think like that. Why do you think relationships are so complicated at this point," she rhetorically questioned. "Because neither one of the partners are compatible for each other. You always have one person working in the relationship while the other just expects you to keep giving," I explained.

This is very common in a lot of relationships. Most of the time I see women who expect their boyfriends to know everything about them, make occasional surprises, and give all sexual tension.

I never saw the irony in that on some occasions. I can understand knowing stuff about your partner but the other stuff not so much. In my opinion, I think people should just enjoy the little things from each other.

"True, you're not exactly wrong about that, but who's the giver and who's the receiver in the relationship?" she asked me as I had to think about it.

At this point in our relationship, Jazmine is the giver while I'm the receiver. She's not afraid to give me kisses, hugs, or sexual vibes whether I like it or not.

She's the one who gave me the proposal so I could get out my comfort zone, but I haven't made much progress. She's the one who asked me out on our first date together.

I didn't want to go to any of the restaurants because of their poor choices of food, so she decided to make a home cook meal for me.

Unlike her, I just been standing to the side like a jealous dumbass not giving anything in this relationship. I complain about Caesar because he does the stuff I'm supposed to be doing to her.

"Freeman," I heard Aaliyah exclaim as I snapped out of my imagination. "Again, who's the giver and who's the receiver?" she asked as I scowled at her.

"I'm the receiver but that's about to be fixed," I mumbled getting out of my seat and leaving the room.

I walked down the hallway towards the counselors office where I knew Jazmine was at. School was about to be over so I needed to make it quick before everybody left class.

Right on time, Jazmine came outside of the counselors office. When she had noticed me she smiled. "Hi!" she softly spoke giving me a small wave.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" I asked already knowing the question. I just needed to have small talk before I asked her. I can't just come up to her and ask, that would be random.

"I came to see about some possible academic scholarships from SAT and ACT scores," she simply said as I nodded my head. Jazmine did get one of the highest scores in the school, so there's no surprise schools would offer her academic scholarships.

"You find any?" I asked as I felt the vibe getting awkward. "A couple, but I'm not entirely sure yet," she shrugged.

"Oh, is there any specific colleges you're trying to go to?" I asked as she thought about it. "At the moment, I honestly don't know Huey, but I'll let you know when the time comes," she said as I nodded.

We both stood there in awkward silence which bothered me for the first time. It was my time to ask million dollar question. "Will you go out with me this Saturday?" I asked taking her by surprise.

She fixed her facial expression while I waited for her response. "I would love to!" she spoke.

"Pick me up 6," she said before the bell ringed. After that everybody started coming out of their classrooms and heading outside of the school. Jazmine was nowhere to be seen meaning she went to the dance studio.

Pick her up at 6, but the question is, what the fuck are we going to have our date at?
