Chip awoke with the feeling of being rocked from side to side. He opened his eyes to what appeared to be a ship. Of course, Chip being unaware of anything leading up to the point where he was struck by a coconut.

Chip stood up and touched his forehead. He then looked in the mirror and saw himself wrapped in bandages. "How did these get here?" He wondered.

Chip then looked and saw a door.

Chip opened the door and was greeted by a hallway. "Hm, I wonder where everyone else is?" He thought to himself.

He proceeded down the hall and through a side exit door onto the lower deck. There stood in the distance was Dale. He was leaning on the railing and gazing out at the vast Atlantic ocean. Chip walked over and leaned on the railing next to him.

"You okay, Dale?" Chip asked.

Dale didn't respond. He continued his wandering gaze.

Chip tapped Dale's shoulder. "Anyone home?" He teased.

Dale turned and immediately tackled Chip with a hug. This caught Chip off guard and caused him to fall backwards.

"You're okay! You're okay!" He said, hugging tightly.

The commotion caused the others to come outside.

"Goodness lad, you're alright." Monterey Jack said.

Dale helped Chip back onto his feet and the others gave their welcoming hugs.

Chip brushed his hat off. "What happened? How long have I been asleep for?"

Dale's smile faded. "It's been three months, Chip." He said.

Chip's expression was of shock and disbelief. "T-Three m-months?" He stammered.

Dale nodded.

It's a long story, but why don't I tell you when we get home." Dale said.

The scene faded and reappeared when the Rangers arrived back at their treehouse in New York City. They entered the home to see it dusty and cobwebs everywhere.

"Golly, this place looks like it could use a really good cleaning." Gadget said.

"Yeah, but maybe tomorrow Gadget." Chip said.

"Alright, well I'm going to go and unpack." Gadget said, heading towards her workshop.

Monterey Jack and Zipper both left to their own respective rooms to do the same. There left Chip and Dale alone in the quiet living room.

Chip sighed. "It's good to be home." He said, smiling.

"Yeah," Dale said.

"So you never told me what happened on the island. How did we get on that ship?" Chip asked.

"Why don't you have a seat on the couch and I'll explain," Dale said.

Both sat down on the sofa and Chip finally saw Dale's bandaged forearm.

"Goodness, what happened to your arm?" Chip asked.

Dale winced. "It's a long story."

The scene flashbacks to the night after the Rangers received Chip.

Chip led Dale and the others to Fat Cat's hideout.

"Where are we going, Chip?" Dale asked.

"You'll see, it's just around this bend." Chip said.

Just as they turned the corner, a cage fell and trapped the Rangers, excluding Chip. Wart walked up and cut rope restraints on Chip's paws.

He snickered. "You fell into my trap as easy as you believed I would take you to Fat Cat." Chip said with an evil grin.

"Y-You lying phoney!" Dale stammered in an angered tone.

"Oh hush up, you'll give yourself an aneurysm with all that anger." Chip said.

"Good work, Charlie. You finally caught them." Fat Cat said.

"Thank you, sir. However, I remembered my name, it's Chip." He replied.

"Chip, hm, alright." Fat Cat said.

"What is the plan with them?" Chip asked.

"Anything you'd like, just as long as they are destroyed." Fat Cat instructed.

Chip scratched his chin. "Anything I'd like, huh?" He muttered.

Fat Cat sat down on his make-shift throne. "Well, go on." He said.

"Wart, Mole, bring out the one with the red nose." Chip ordered.

Wart and Mole pulled Dale out of the cage and restrained his arms as he was pushed to his knees in front of Chip. Chip devilishly glared down at Dale as Dale looked up with a look of pure terror. He struck Dale in the face as hard as he could. Blood splattered everywhere. The horrific scene stained Monterey Jack and Gadget's faces. Zipper however was nowhere to be seen.

"P-Please stop." Dale pleaded in a whiny tone but was quiet as he was falling in and out of consciousness.

"What was that? I couldn't hear you?" Chip asked as he snickered.

Zipper overhead thought out a plan to stop Chip's reign of terror. He then had a brilliant idea. Down below, things between Chip and Dale were becoming dire, Zipper had to act and act soon.

"Snout, pass me that knife." Chip instructed.

"Here you go." He said, passing the knife.

Dale looked up to see Chip's arm raise with the dagger in his hand and closed them slowly as he saw the swift motion of his arm coming back down.

There was no noise, all was silent. Dale figured he was dead at this point at the paws of his best friend. He opened his eyes and felt the cool summer wind rushing past his tattered fur. He was lying on his side, beaten but alive. Fat Cat was nowhere in sight, neither was Chip.

"Ahoy there matey!" Captain Jolly Roger said.

"Huh? Where did you come from?" Dale asked in a weak tone.

"We docked here to find some treasure and what we found was a rather ripe blood bash. You nearly had your head cut off if it weren't for the smart thinking of that fly friend of yours." Jolly Roger said.

"He must mean Zipper," Dale thought to himself.

"Come on, let's get you aboard and get you home." Jolly Roger said.

Dale was placed on a stretcher and two of Jolly Roger's crew carried Dale aboard.

The scene fades back to Chip and Dale on the couch.

"The rest, I can't remember. It took me a month before I could even walk on my own." Dale said.

"I had no idea, Dale. I feel so horrible." Chip said.

Dale smirked and patted Chip on the back. "Don't be, I attacked you with that pen, remember? I think you can call us even." He said.

Chip sighed. "It's not the same." He said, exiting the room outside.

Gadget entered the living room and approached Dale. "You told him everything?" She asked.

Dale sighed. "Yeah." He said.

"How is he?" She asked.

Dale looked up to Gadget. "It's going to be a while." He said, staring out the window at Chip.

"This whole trip was a shipwreck, I hope we never have to test any more boats." Dale thought to himself.

The End.

The scene reappears on an empty stage. In enters Chip, Dale, and Todd.

"Thank you for reading this story. The writer would like to express his gratitude to all of those who have written suggestions and contributed reviews and support to his work." Todd said.

"Yes, but unfortunately all good things must come to an end eventually. Therefore, it is our regret to announce that ReadingsWorthSharing will be retiring indefinitely from FanFiction." Chip said.

"Wait, that means no more adventures? I thought we were having fun?" Dale asked.

"We were and are. There will always be another adventure, Dale. It's just time for this adventure to come to an end." Chip said.

There was an awkward pause before Chip nudged Dale.

"Oh, right, and with that, we just like to say thank you and goodbye," Dale said, rereading his printed lines.
