Ladybug takes a few steps towards Hawkmoth, slowly, he doesn't even notice.

"He should be here any-" Ladybug is cut off as Mayura kicks her to the side.

"Mayura, what are you doing? You shouldn't be out of bed," Hawkmoth is immediately worried for the woman now beside him.

"She was trying to steal your miraculous. I couldn't let that happen," Mayura says with a sad smile before breaking into a coughing fit.

"Liar!" Ladybug shouts though her voice falls on deaf ears.

Hawkmoth tries to trap Ladybug but Chat Noir tries to ambush him. Luckily, Mayura is looking out for him, she protects him and ends up trying to fight Chat Noir until she gets light-headed. Hawkmoth isn't that successful either while fighting against Ladybug, though, of course, that's because he has one eye watching Mayura.

Hawkmoth pushes Ladybug aside as he watches Mayura close her eyes, groan, and faint. He manages to catch her in his arms.

"Please!" Hawkmoth begs, "ju-just let me help her!" the heroes look at him curiously and he tosses the yo-yo back to her, "I won't akumatize anyone for a week, just let us go."

Ladybug nods, Hawkmoth picks the peahen off the ground and holds her close to his chest.

"Please, be alright my dear," Hawkmoth whispers.

He sets her down on his bed not caring about the professionalism, or lack thereof, he just wants her to be alright. Her eyes barely open before she starts coughing violently. A mixture of blood and vomit comes up.

Mayura starts crying and unable to stop shaking as she does so.

"I ruin everything!" she says between sobs.

Hawkmoth runs a gloved hand down her face, which he swears is a paler blue than usual.

"The sheets can be washed," he tries to keep himself calm because working himself up isn't going to help, "I'm more worried about you right now, Mayura, are you alright?"

"I'm fine," Mayura manages to see but her breath is weak.

Hawkmoth wants to believe her but she clearly isn't. He remembers these signs in Emilie too and he knows that she didn't have much time after she had gotten this bad.

"I told you not to use it," Hawkmoth reminds her, "it's dangerous. They could've found out who you were."

"And they could've found out who you were," Mayura points out, "I'm not letting you get hurt, if your identity was revealed we would never get her back."

"No," Hawkmoth mumbled, "no, we're not doing this anymore. We're done."

"No, I'm fine, we can still do this. I'm fine, really," Mayura continues to insist, "your miraculous is flashing, there's a negative emotion," her words become faster, they are slurring together as she becomes frantic, "let's go and I can-" Hawkmoth cuts her off with a quick kiss.

"No more," Hawkmoth swears, "we are done."

"But- I," Mayura stutters, "what does this mean?"

"It means I care for you, Mayura."

"But-" Mayura tries to object.

Hawkmoth kisses her to cut her off.

"I'm not losing you the same way I lost her. I can't, I can't do that again. I'm not losing another woman I love due to that miraculous," Hawkmoth tells her.

Mayura blushes a purple color but doesn't say anything, she doesn't know what to say at first.

She takes off her miraculous and hands it to the villain, "I'll be here when you change your mind."

Hawkmoth shakes his head before transforming himself. He sits next to her on his bed.

"Rest, now," he tells her, "you need it."

He wraps an arm around and she cuddles close to him with her head on his chest. He's fairly certain he isn't going to change his mind about her.
