It was still in the middle of the night when Yu Na's mother arrived at the police station. She was full of tears and apologies about not noticing that her daughter was taken, and she kept on hugging the little girl close to her. She had clearly been in shock. You could smell the alcohol on her from miles away.

"I'm sorry Yu Na. I'm so sorry. Mommy shall stop drinking. It was my fault." She was borderline hysterical.

Moo Chi watched the scene and internally felt glad that he had asked the chief to not be responsible for this case as well. He already had enough on his plate and he always felt uncomfortable about crying and emotional people. And to be honest he didn't want to find the guy who stopped Kang Duk Soo. It felt too close to something that he himself would do.

They offered the mother and child a place in their resting quarters, so that they could have some space for themselves. In the morning they would try to interrogate the child to see what she could tell them.

The mother agreed, all to happy to not be home with just the two of them. The police would make sure they would stay save.

The sun was already starting to raise when Moo Chi finally left the precinct to go home to sleep. He rubbed his eyes, and stretched his shoulders. He was feeling tired and stiff.

He checked the backseat of his car, just to be sure no extra passengers where on there and drove home. He managed to stay focused on the road long enough to get home safely. He kicked off his shoes and laid down on his mattress, throwing his arm over his eyes to block out of the light.

He barely fell asleep when his phone started ringing. He swore and picked it up. It was detective Sang. This better be important, he sighed and answered the phone.

Apparently it had been important news. Not just one, but 2 murders had happened this night. He stood up, threw one more look of longing towards his bed, took his coat and left to join detective Sang. Perhaps he would sleep a bit more in a day or two.

Halmoni slowly blinked her eyes and groaned. Her head was pounding.

Immediately she could feel someone taking a hold of her hand.

"Are you okay, halmoni?" she recognized the voice of her Bong Yi.

"Aigoo," halmoni said again. She squinted her eyes, trying to focus the imagine and she saw her granddaughter sitting on a chair next to her bed. The chair besides her contained one of her friends. Chi Kook she thought his name was.

She tried to sit up.

"No, don't get up." Hands pushed her down softly, and she couldn't muster the strength to push up against that.

"What happened. Where are we?" she asked.

Her Bong Yi's eyes were surrounded by dark circles and red rimmed.

"Don't you remember, Kang Duk Soo hurt you. We are in the hospital." Bong Yi said, some tears escaping her eyes.

"Don't cry, it's okay." Halmoni said, lifting her hands to wipe the tears away, almost surprised that Bong Yi didn't pull away.

"I remember now. He had Yu Na with him."

Halmoni's eyes widened.

"Yu Na, is she okay?" she suddenly shouted, then started to cough. She could feel the congestion already building up in her chest. The cold, the rain and her age were a bad combination for her. She hoped that she would catch a cold or worse.

"She's okay. Someone got there and they beat Kang Duk Soo up. He's here in the hospital as well, but so far he hasn't woken up." Bong Yi petted her grandmother's hair, trying to calm both of them down.

"He's in here, still alive?"

"Yes, but he's not in good condition. I can't believe that the cops are trying to search the one who hurt Kang Duk Soo." Bong Yi huffed angrily.

Halmoni stayed silent. She could vaguely remember a dark figure standing over her, but she couldn't remember who it was. Perhaps it was better that she didn't mention this to the cops. That person had saved her life and made sure that Kang Duk Soo didn't hurt Yu Na, better not let the cops find out.

Bong Yi was so happy that her grandmother had awakened. She had stepped out of the room to warn the nurses. They would send someone to check up on her grandmother as quick as possible. In the meantime she also called the police. Chi Kook was staying with her grandmother until she came back.

She still felt really uncomfortable about letting her grandmother out of her sight.

When she returned she passed next to the corridor where Kang Duk Soo's room was. She saw that a police officer was sitting on a chair next to the door to make sure no one could get in or out. She shuddered slightly in disgust when she thought of him.

She was about to continue back to the room from her grandmother when suddenly the door opened and anther police officer came out.

"He woke up. I called a doctor in." he said to his colleague.

"Okay, I'll let him through. I'll call it in as well."

Bong Yi's stomach was suddenly in knots. She hated being so near that guy. She wished he would just die, and the fact he woke up right now really disappointed her.

When she returned to her grandmother, she had fallen asleep. Chi Kook had to go to work.

"Thank you for coming."

"It's not a problem Bong Yi. If there is anything I can do, let me know." She smiled at him and waved him of. She settled in the chair again and took another look.

Her grandmother was pale and the bruises looked stark on her skin. She just realized how old and fragile she really was. The passed night she had a feeling that she could have lost her, this filled her with so much pain, she hadn't even realized she could hurt this much. She resolved that she would try to be nicer to her grandmother from now on.

An good hour later the police officer arrived to interrogate her grandmother.

Bong Yi reluctantly woke her again.

The police officer greeted her grandmother politely.

"We would like to go over the events with you Madam." Halmoni nodded slightly, shakingly drinking a bit of water to wet her parched tongue.

"Do you remember what happened?" he took out a notebook and held his pen poised.

Grandmother told all about how she encountered Kang Duk Soo. She had seen him holding hands with a little girl. Of course she had recognized the girl as Yu Na, who didn't live that far from them.

She had known who Kang Duk Soo was and she knew he didn't have good intentions with the girl, so she had followed him, scared that he would do the same to her as he had done to her granddaughter.

When she told this the police glanced at Bong Yi, and she could feel herself blush at that look, bile rising in her throat.

She had tried to take the girl away from Kang Duk Soo, but he had proven too strong for her and had hit her over the head and even kicked her a few times.

"Did you see someone else afterwards?"

Grandmother could not really remember his face, in the dark and rain she hadn't clearly seen it, but she did remember that he was young and tall. She did not say it to the cops.

"I saw someone." She said, the cop leaned forwards. "when I was lying in the rain, I prayed for god that someone would stop Kang Duk Soo. Then I saw an angel." She said. The cop looked at her in disbelief.

"An angel?" he repeated hesitantly.

"Yes, I could not see his face, but his aura was blinding." She kept her face straight. "I could hear the music from the church and then I knew my prayers were answered and that Yu Na would be safe."

The cop nodded at her, clearly thinking she was senile. For once she found it a good thing.

Soo Jin arrived at the police station. She went to register at the front desk and was told to wait until they got her, it shouldn't take long.

They had given her the file about the case, which she had read through. It contained some information about the circumstances they had found Yu Na in and her familial circumstances. It didn't take long to finish. Of course, they still kept her waiting.

She took out her phone and looked on the social media. She saw that the outrage she started was snowballing. People called out to not give any hints about the person's identity to the police, claiming it took a civilian to sort out their problems.

The police hadn't reacted yet, probably not realizing how big an issue this was becoming.

"Miss? You can come now." A young officer led her into an interrogation room that was designed to look like a sitting room. The child was sitting there together with her mother.

She introduced herself to the two and took the seat opposite them.

"So Yu Na, I'm going to ask you some questions about what happened yesterday. The police just wants to know what happened. They also want to find the person who helped you." She said, seeing the child listen to her. Now she had be careful.

"The police are afraid that the person who helped you is dangerous. What happened to you yesterday must have been so scary. Now you are here, you don't have to be afraid of him, the police will make sure he will be safely locked away." She said. The child's stare hardened a bit. Good, she got it. If the police found her saviour, he would be locked away, just for doing what no one else did, helping her. She would not betray him.

Moo Chi was looking over all the evidence from the murder cases. He was now convinced that there were two serial killers going around. Both had 2 kills, all kills were female. For now he couldn't find any connection between the victims except that they were all female.

The rope knot killer preferred his women to be younger, both victims were in their early twenties, they lived alone. One of them had a boyfriend, the other lived with her dog. They're jobs were different, they didn't go to the same hobbies, their family and friends were both different.

The womb-stealer cut open his victims, and took away their wombs. One of the two was in her thirties, the other one had been in her forties. Again, nothing of their social live matched.

He was stuck on both cases and he didn't want to admit it. He had demanded their medical records, but seeing as it had to go through the proper channels it would take some time to arrive, but he should get it this week.

He had ordered detective Sang to do an extensive background check, in the hope of finding any criteria of how the victim were chosen. That would narrow the search down by a bit.

He rubbed his eyes, sighing. He was tired. He had barely slept yesterday and the day before.

He took his jacket and went home. Perhaps if he slept for a little while he could look at this case again with a fresh start.

While Moo Chi slept the new spread about Kang Duk Soo waking up. People on social media demanded that he should go to jail for live and even get the death penalty for what he did. Before the day was over, Kang Duk Soo had a lawyer and seeing that he could not do anything about his crime because it was already the second time he did it and no jury would let him of easily, he decided to go after the guy who tried to kill him.

The news was reporting that Kang Duk Soo was planning to find the guy who tried to kill him and sue him for attempted murder.

The police couldn't do anything since it was clear that somebody had tried to kill him, the handprints on his neck were a clear sign of that.

The social media exploded. How did this guy dare to do that. First commit a crime and then suing the one who tried to stop him.
