Ch2 Tawny Wing.
Tawny'wing awoke. Wincing slightly as the rays of the dawn sunlight came spiking through the nursery brambles. The other queens awoke slightly as well, enjoying the silence before the noisy kits got up to play. Tawny'wing stood, careful not to wake up any sleeping kits, she slid out of the nursery. Her eyes adjusted to the light and she went to join Starling'flight, (her mate) under the high rock for a meal.
Tawny'wing's brother, Russet'fang, was dropping off a thrush at the elder's den when he spotted her. He quickly padded over to join them. "Morning Tawny'wing!" Russet'fang mewed, then quickly added. "And starling'flight," Starling'flight nodded in reply.
As Russet'fang settled down beside her, Tawny'wing asked. "How is Bramblepaw's training going? I heard he will be getting his assessment today." "great," Russet'fang replied. "Do you think he's ready?" Tawny'wing mewed hesitantly. Russet'fang gave her an offended look playfully, "of course he is, i trained him." Tawny'wing chucked and finished the rest of her prey in swift gulps before padding off to join the other queens, who were watching their kits playfight outside the nursery.
Leafkit tumbled into a fern bush nearby, by brackenkit who yowled in triumph. "Im brackenstar! mighty leader of thunderclan, die you nasty shadowclan cat!" his mother, Sparrow'fall, batted him lightly on the head with her paw. "Be nice to your sister! And any warrior would know that you shouldnt kill to win a fight, its against the warrior code, brackenkit." the kit rolled his eyes. "Now, apologize." mewed Sparrow'fall sternly.
Brackenkit stumbled over to his sister, leaf'kit. In a mocking tone, he said "im so so so so so sorry that i was dealing with the shadowclan threat once and for all." sparrow fall growled and picked up bracken kit by the scruff harshly. The kit squealed slightly. "Thats it, youll be staying in the nursery for today, possibly tomorrow" bracken kit whined "But mom! Leafkit gets to stay outside!" "well, leafkit didnt push her sister into a fern bush, while shouting against the warrior code." Sparrow'fall retorted, setting down her kit in the nursery, "Tawny'wing? Will you watch Bracken kit, i dont want to spoil leafkits fun because he did something wrong." she mewed, flicking her tail towards brackenkit. Tawny'wing nodded, she settled down in the nursery and swiped her tail around brackenkit, to ensure he didnt sneak out while she was sleeping.
Soon, bracken kit yawned, and fell asleep next to her.
