Chapter 10: prison break

Jason pov

after we got inside the D.E.O Steve and I went to the lockers to change into something a little bit more fitting to spar with, after we were all set we went to a large room with a rubber mattress for a floor.

I had my gladius sword still in it's sheath and Steve had a machete sword, I raised a brow and he said "what? it's not like I just had a sword laying around in my place, i had to improvise." I nodded in agreement with his logic.

I took my battle sand and so did he, i could see in the corner of my eye Diana had taken a seat to watch the match, she shouted at me "Jason! just remember he's a mortal so no striking him with lightning like superman ok?" that caused Steve poker face to flinch just enough for me to see he was starting to regret his decision to spar with me.

it caused me to smile just a little, he looked at me and asked "well.. are you ready?" I looked at him back and asked "are you?" that caused him to chuckle and he said "I like your spirit but don't get cocky kid." and then we heard Diana hit the bell marking the match to start

-time skip 30 minutes-

I was on top of Steve with my sword to his throat, we both had sweat running down our foreheads, I can't tell how many times I was close to use my lightning on him but stopped myself at the last second in fear of what Diana might do to me if her boyfriend would have been hit by lightning.

Steve hit the mattress with his hand signalling that he Surrendered since he was to busy catching his breath, after I helped him up on his feat he said to me "that was impressive Jason, I am not an easy man to beat, and yet i was out of breath after 25 minutes."

Diana was in the spectators along with some D.E.O agents who were staring at us with their jaws nearly at the floor but Diana just smiled and said "Steve? would you mind if Jason and I had a turn?" he looked at her then me and said "sure go ahead." and went to the spectators to take a seat and watch.

Diana took out her sword and shield and just said "computer: set spectators safety to level 11" then we heard a voice reply "spectators safety level 11 set." I looked at her and she said "that way we can let loose and no one gets hurt." as she said that more and more agents started to fill the seats outside of the arena.

i looked at her and she just said "well it's not everyday they get to see the Director get beaten by a 17 year old." now I was shocked and she just laughed before saying "ok Jason are you ready?" I nodded and said "let's do this." as i finished we heard Steve hits the bell and the match started.

frank pov

after we met the gods Hasel and I stayed in the hall of justice with the remaining members of the seven, I can't say i was thrilled to meet this earth's ares since i have read that he was mostly war hungry (kind of like ours is) but also very unreliable when it came to somethings in wars.

but he seemed to be happy to meet me and after i told him what his roman side was like on my earth, he seem to rethink a lot of things and i think he kinds of approves of me even more now.

I had sat with hazel who had it the most hard to grasped since as she said "I remember reading the first superman comics during the war but now this..?" she said gesturing to the hall of justice, "it's a bit much to handle." of course I nodded , I mean she was burn in a different time period when the comic books superheroes industry had just started out.

all of a sudden we heard an alarm going off and we all rushed the main computer to see batman and Annabeth already there.

"what's wrong?" was piper's question , batman replied "someone seems to have broken out of arkham asylum, hold on pulling out security footage.. now" as he pressed a button and suddenly we saw the screen playing it and we were all shocked.

in the footage we saw medusa turning the guards into stone and making her way into one of the cells, we saw her take a key card from one of the guards before turning him into stone and opening one of the cells but before covering her face once again.

before we saw who left the cells however, she took a gun and shot the security camera, Annabeth looked at the screen and asked "how long ago was this?" batman answered "30 minutes."

and then he started to punch some key cards while I asked "what are you doing ?" and then we saw him reversing the video just a couple of seconds before it ended and he zoomed in on the cell door.

he then said "this is the cell number of that cell, if i can tap in the arkahm records it might help identify who was it in the cell." after a couple of seconds he got some results and his eyes widen with shock and he just said "you can't be serious." Annabeth asked "what? what is it?" batman answered "according to this file, the prisoner in that cell was a man named David Clinton, but he is more known by his supervillain name "Chronos"".

now we were all shocked and then batman continued "he is one of my villains, he has time traveling related abilities and he comes from the future, or so he claims." hazel then asked "but why would medusa would want his help? it's not like he is the Cronos she is looking for." Annabeth eyes went wide as a realization struck her and she said "she is going to use his as a vassal for Cronos to possess!"
