Shrew'kit slowly awoke to the warm, milky scent of the nursery. Despite being protected and sheltered from the cold by the materials of the nursery, shrew'kit was still freezing. The warmth of her siblings and mother helped, but not enough for her to feel comfortable. She was incredibly worried, as she overheard the warriors saying-"this isnt that bad of a leafbare." if she absolutely hated this, how would she get through next leaf-bare? she didnt know, at all. She was startled when tawny'wing got up and slid out of the den, and she was left alone with her siblings, silverkit and shadekit. The nursery had been awfully lonely when leafkit, brackenkit, brokenkit, thornkit, and hawkkit became apprenticed, willowfern and sparrowfall left aswell. Leaving only her brother,sister, and mother in the nursery with her.
Shrewkit and silverkit were tussling inside the nursery, when shadekit walked up to them. "Hey," he whispered. "Wanna sneak out of camp? When we are apprentices we will know more than every other new apprentice." Shrewkit didnt bother to whisper. "Of course not mousebrain!" she batted her troublesome brother on the head with her sheathed paw. "We could get in trouble, and that would delay our apprentice ceremony! Just wait your turn, we will be apprentices in only 3 days." Shadekit glared. "Ok ms bossystar! Silverkit will come, wont you silverkit?" Shrewkit growled at shadekit. He was trying to take advantage of sillverkit! she was the runt of the three kits, and she was always gullible. "Well?" Shadekit mewed. Silverkit shuffled her paws uneasily. Shrew kit sighed and shrugged. "Alright, im just making sure you know- you will get caught. And you will delay your apprentice ceremony. Have fun staying kits for another half-moon!" she mewed before curling up in her mothers nest.
She awoke suddenly to her mothers worried expression. "My kits! I cant find my kits!" shrew kit walked over and asked innocently, "what happened mom?" "your siblings are missing- do you know where they might have gone?" shrew kits eyes widened in fake shock. "They snuck out? They said they were going to. I thought i convinced them not to when they said- "fine" and then i took a nap.." shrewkit lied. "Thank you for clearing that up, my kit. Where did they want to go?" shrewkit yawned. "The sky oak.." Tawny'wing smiled. "Thanks again, you should go get some more rest. Im going to ask Fernstar to have your ceremony tomorrow for your honesty." Shrew kit brightened up and fell back into her sleep.
