Chapter nine

Escape

Cassandra needed some emotional space from Mickey, she wished it were easy for her to do so, but she couldn't stop herself feeling horrible. She was never the type of person who would was capable of sleeping with another woman's man, but she did it.

She went through the motions of the week, and while Mickey never messaged her after the phone call, she didn't want to message him either, or she guessed it was because of his own guilt of what they did. Cassandra watched as Kali played in the lounge. The girl was in her own imagination, and Cassandra smiled trying to remember what really mattered in life, but today was Thursday and later Helena will pop by to pick her up for the night, and now Cassandra was faced with the fact she would be seeing Mickey for the first time since what they did.

"Agapiméni mou kóri faínesai tóso chlomí. (My darling daughter you look so pale.)" Helena held Cassandra's face at the front door seeing her.

She carefully removed the woman's hands, "Eímai kalá, mólis eícha mia kakí evdomáda (I am fine, I just had a bad week.)" it wasn't like she could tell her why she really wasn't feeling herself, and she knew that it could never be told to anyone.

All she could do was watch as Helena took Kali for the night as she was left alone with her thoughts as she got herself ready for work.

Cassandra knew she had avoided talking to people but confronted in the changing rooms wasn't something she was excited about. Gemini being the first one, and her eyes were trying to work something, "So where did you and Mickey disappear to?"

"I was sick, so I went home." She focused on her reflection doing her make up, she had to conceal her eyes from the dark circles from lack of sleep. "Mickey, I don't know." She added trying to keep her face guilt free.

Dominique was watching out of the corner of her eye, she knew something must have happened in the smoking area, but she didn't want to say anything, but she could tell that Gemini wasn't happy. "I completely forgot that Harley messaged me when she got home, apparently she spent all Monday cleaning her place of sick." She laughed, "I am thinking someone went too hard."

"I see," Gemini backed off going back to her locker getting herself some perfume out to wear.

Cherry putting her shoes on glanced up, "So I guess I missed a good time?"

"Oh yea, Harley, you missed Scott serenading Derrick," Dominique laughed, "Apparently they want Gemini to be a surrogate mother for them."

"I told them, I know I am a beauty, but I cannot afford to not be working." Gemini smiled remembering the moment, "They then offered me money to do it."

"That would be sweet…" Cassandra finished off her makeup, she wished for everything she could spend the who night in here, but she needed to earn money.

Gemini shrugged, "I would consider it," She turned as the door opened slowly.

Cassandra felt her heart freeze, but she relaxed seeing it was sky rushing in to get herself ready and turned to look at Dominique still watching her carefully.

Mickey didn't really talk to anyone as he entered the club, he headed straight to the booth, and told himself he wasn't going to do anything stupid. He didn't get one message from Cassandra and knew why; he knew she needed space. He had spent time thinking over everything, and every time it got to himself sizing up Chloe to Cassandra, he knew the reason was he loved Chloe, but he wasn't in love with her anymore. He wished he could make the magic come back, but it had been dying since that fateful weekend. He blamed her for the arrest, but it was more than that. She terminated a pregnancy she didn't even tell him about, and he confessed that he used her the first time they met.

Getting everything ready in the booth, he was glad it was Kylie's night on bar, so he would only have one of the bouncers drop his drinks off, and he planned to stay up here so he could focus on the music.

Dominique opened the door seeing Mickey in full work mode, she didn't want to know the details, but she tapped his shoulder, "Hey." She placed a lot of euros in his jar, "Harley and my tips for tonight." She said.

Mickey turned to look at her face, he didn't see anything different, "How is she?" He asked.

"She looks like shit honestly," was all she could reply with trying to work his face out. "I don't know, I don't want to, but sort yourself out Mickey." She left him alone in the booth.

"Fuck!" Mickey turned back to the deck, he was starting off seeing that Cherry was up, he started her set up. He wasn't going to let what Dominique said get to him, but as the night went on, he knew he was going to need to confront Cassandra and know why she was avoiding him.

Cassandra walked the floor, turning on the charm seeing that men were all giving her the eye. She knew her effect on them, but at the same time she was just trying to get enough money to be able to leave early. It was just her luck the night she wanted to leave early, was the night that slowed for the tips.

"Hey…" A man spoke confidently from one corner of the club, he waved a handful of note her way, "Can I get a private?"

Cassandra gave the bouncer the signal as her hand toke hold of the man talking to her. Part of Cassandra wanted to look up to the DJ booth, she wanted to see if he'd noticed her, but at the same time she wasn't sure how she was going to talk to him going into the private room that was free.

She'd done this a hundred times, and while she danced, she used to have an empty mind. Tonight, she couldn't stop overthinking. Dancing on the man she knew bouncer was keeping the man in line, but she wasn't aware of what he was doing as she went over every tiny detail of that Sunday night, as the time was up, she glanced to the pile of money, and picked it up leaving the room heading to the changing room, she couldn't stop herself thinking, and it was going to kill her tips.

"I know you don't want to talk about it, but I want to know what I am covering you for?" Dominique had followed her back into the changing rooms.

Cassandra placed her money in her bag, she didn't want to look at the other woman, "It's stupid," She inhaled trying to make a mental note of the cash she'd gotten so far and knew she couldn't work like this. "I was stupid."

"You're never stupid," Dominique wrapped her arms around her shoulders as she rested her face next to Cassandra, she stood behind her, "But I'm guessing you got some."

"Dom!" She groaned.

Dominique looked to Cassandra's eyes reflecting back in the mirror, "Sorry, I should rephrase that." She turned the other woman to face her, "You and Mickey had sex."

"Shh!" her eyes glared, "And you cannot tell a soul!"

Dominique held her hands up, "I promise I won't tell a soul," She pulled an imaginary zip over her lips.

"I feel worse than shit," She finally said trying to keep it together, "And worst of all, I loved it." She closed her eyes trying to push the guilt of that.

Dominique tried so hard not to laugh, "Hey, he's also a party to this, so he is probably feeling worse about it." She stopped, "I'm curious, what was it like?"

"Dom…" Cassandra now laughed, "I'm not complaining about that." She took in a deep breath, "I can tell you; it was just." She stopped talking. "It doesn't matter how good it was, he cheated on his girlfriend." She pointed to her face, "And I'm the other woman!"

"So!" Dominique pointed out, "He is an adult, and you're an idiot." She said quickly. "I think you two can't avoid each other forever." She now headed out of the changing room, there was an hour left until closing, and she wanted to make the most of it.

Mickey finished cleaning up the booth area, he made his way down to the bar seeing the normal sight of girls counting their earnings for the night. He knew where Cassandra would normally count her money, he paused seeing her already in her clothes, she had her piles she picked up her shot drinking it.

He didn't know how to address her as he walked to the bar placing his own cash down, but he didn't speak as her face met his. "Hi…"

Cassandra studied his face, "Hi," She placed the shot glass down putting money back into her bag, leaving the hundred euro out. "I'm just going to give Demitri my rent." She got to her feet, she stopped herself walking away, "Can you walk me home?" She asked softly.

"Yea," He tried to not seem excited by it, "Everything okay?"

Cassandra handed him her bag, "No, but I'll be back." She headed for the office.

Mickey turned to see that Kylie was staring, "Can I help you?"

"you're a total idiot…" it was the first time that Mickey had heard her speak. "Dick." She walked off to the backroom.

Mickey did a double take, he wasn't sure what to do as he felt a hand on him, he could see Cassandra with him again, "Does she normally talk?"

"Oh, she talked to you." Cassandra laughed, "Guess she likes you."

"She called me a dick," He pointed out.

Cassandra handed him money over, "Here's your wage." Her eyes going to Kylie walking back to the bar with stock to refill the shelves for the next shift. "Night Kylie." She waved heading for the door.

Mickey didn't hesitate in following her out of the club, he handed her back the bag as she placed it in her tote bag. "I'm guessing this talk it about Sunday."

Cassandra didn't speak, she kept walking feeling there needed to be a way for her to think, but at the same time she couldn't stop herself. Her thoughts stopped when he grabbed her arm forcing her to finally look at him, "Of course it's about Sunday!" Cassandra felt tense, but at the same time her eyes going to Mickey, "I don't know what to do about it."

Mickey let her arm drop, "I'm not sure either."

"Mickey, I'm not sure what I feel about this, all I do know is that…" She brushed her hands into her hair starting to walk more, she didn't want to stay out talking about this.

He followed her, they both took the last of the way to her apartment in silence as he see her building, both of them stood in front of each other. "So…"

"Just come in," Cassandra said opening the door, she waited for him to go in first as they got to her home.

Mickey remembered the last time he walked into this place, but he pushed it aside as they were both painfully sober this time around.

"Drink?" she offered holding a bottle of beer coming back from the kitchen.

Mickey took the bottle, and for a moment felt comforted by her, "Thanks," He sat down on the couch watching as she joined him with her own beer. "I can't leave her; she's done too much…"

"I'm not asking you to leave her," Cassandra said placing a hand to his knee.

Mickey glanced to her, her hand on him, he put his hand on top lacing their fingers together, "I wish I could feel bad, but at the same time I."

"Mickey," She stopped him talking placing her bottle down, "Why don't we keep this simple." She smiled, "I know I care about you, and I know you obviously care about me." She sighed, "But you have to figure what you want, because I don't want to break you up for nothing but a very."

Mickey cut her off pressing his lips to hers passionately, he didn't want to hear the logically explanation. She didn't push him away, and her free hand went into his hair pulling it, deepening the kiss.

Cassandra wanted to feel him on her again, she knew it was wrong, but he felt good. Her hand let his go exploring his chest, down his stomach, opening his belt buckle as her fingers worked into his pants freeing his erection.

He knew this was going to happen, her kiss moving from his lips to his neck, her hand teasing him, knowing he wasn't going to stop her decent as she took him into her mouth, he moaned relaxing into the couch.

His hands in her hair, Cassandra moved slow at first, speeding up with his hands guiding her. He was groaning, she could feel him pulsing in her mouth as she carried on, she wanted to please him, he lasted longer this time, and when he came, she glanced up to his face chasing him with her beer.

Mickey smirked now, "I think I owe you…" He pulled her up on the couch.

His lips embraced her bottom lip, he bit down lightly as she arched her back into him, his fingers working on the shorts she wore, fingers gliding over the fabric that covered her. Mickey knew every touch was making her squirm under his hand, he brushed aside her underwear to feel her smooth skin, her lips swollen for him, pushing his index finger inside to feel the wetness, teasing her clit, but not hard, feather light to make it harder for her to breath.

Cassandra wanted it to stop, she was tense, and he moved his kisses to her neck, he knew what he was doing, not quickly rubbing her, but just enough for the blood flow to her clit, making her lightheaded as used a free hand to pull on her hair, taking his time to push his fingers inside her now, "How much do you want it?"

Her eyes went to his, she couldn't form words, but he was staring at her face, she could see the desire in his eyes, and she bit onto her lip wanting more. Her face felt flushed as now he moved down her body, she felt empty without him inside her, she wanted it so badly.

It was easy for him to remove her shorts with her underwear, he couldn't stop himself pulling her thighs apart, to admire the fact she was turned on, she was hot, and he was going to give her sweet release. His started his kisses at her knee, trailing into her inner thigh biting and licking feeling her pulse against his face, he knew what he wanted to do to her, he ran his tongue over her, he used his fingers to help guide him. He watched her chest rise and fall as he worked over her clit, slow rhythm, her fingers in his hair as her legs curled around his shoulders, her hips moving into his face. He pushed his fingers in her once more, going in sync with his tongue, he licked right, sucked making her shiver, she pulled on his hair, she was sweating as he got her close to the edge, but stopped now getting to her face, his dick slipped into her easily, but he held her, becoming part of her pushing her into the couch.

Cassandra couldn't breathe, his kiss on her mouth, he pushed her harder each time, she wanted him deeper, she wanted to drag her fingernails into his skin. Mickey was holding her thighs, he kept his pace, and she was pushed over the edge screaming in her pleasure, knowing now he was watching her.

He came hard, he panted as he could see she was doing the same, he laid his head on her chest, closing his eyes for a second trying to justify what he just did.

Cassandra brushing his hair with her hands, she felt the sweat sticking her hair to her face, he heart pounding was all she could hear closing her eyes for a second before opening them to see Mickey was looking at her. "I'm happy we worked this out." She now laughed at herself.

"This was a very intriguing conversation." He added moving to sit on the couch beside her, "I think we need a plan."

Cassandra turned her face to look at him, "You think," She exhaled slowly. "So, are we going to admit that we are both dumb fucks?"

"Dumb fucks," Mickey's turn to look at her, "I'm not using you…" He pointed out.

Cassandra brushed a hand to his cheek, "I know, but you kinda are using me to escape…" She shrugged, "And maybe I'm using you to save money on batteries."

Mickey burst into a fit of laughter, "Okay," He calmed down, "So, we just keep this between us, and see how it goes." He now thought back to Chloe, and he knew he wasn't feeling the guilt he should feel, at the same time he needed to work a way to keep Hector in his life, and not have to be with Chloe anymore.
