Chapter 4

Optimus was very concerned about his charge being inside of Sector Seven's facility with the other Decepticons appearing now. He didn't like it anyway with her being so close to where Megatron was being kept; he didn't like it one little bit.

Mikaela turned her head; and she saw Alpha Trion in his human holoform.

"Mikaela, you need to go over to the Allspark and touch it; and then I will cause it to shrink. You won't be able to get it to Optimus; because he will try and sacrifice himself to protect you and Earth. You must put it into Megatron's chest; it will destroy him then." Alpha Trion said.

"Alright," she said as she took off over toward the Allspark alerting Simmons and Bandacheck.

"Hey, get back here!" Simmons yelled as he ran and tackled her after she managed to touch the Allspark; which gave Alpha Trion enough time to shrink it.

However the Allspark's energies managed to wake up Megatron; and he was not in a good mood at all.

"Oh no, "Mikaela whispered as Megatron growled as he looked at Mikaela and then the Allspark.

"The Allspark…? You, give it to me, you little maggot!" he roared as Optimus suddenly blasted through the walls and tackled Megatron.

Megatron snarled, and then threw Optimus against the wall making piece of the wall fall onto Optimus.

"Optimus, no..!" Mikaela cried out.

"Mikaela, you have no choice push the Allspark into Megatron's chest," Alpha Trion ordered.

"Alright," Mikaela said as she ran over and gripped the Allspark in her hands.

Optimus groaned and got up; he was still woozy on his foot pedes from his helm hitting the wall so hard.

"Mikaela….!" Optimus exclaimed.

"Optimus please stay back I don't want you to get hurt, okay?" she said as Megatron snarled at her.

"Does this bug mean something to you, Prime?" Megatron demanded.

Silence…

"Then by all means watch while I destroy her then," Megatron snarled.

"No Megatron, don't you dare!" Optimus shouted as he tried to stop Megatron just as the evil tyrant roared and started to try to reach for Mikaela.

Mikaela sneered at Megatron then.

"I am not afraid of you, you're just a bully." Mikaela snapped as Optimus looked shocked at her.

"I am going to crush you!" Megatron roared in anger.

"Fat chance, bolt for brains, "she said.

Mikaela got up avoiding Megatron's reaching claw; she was much quicker than Megatron and was ready. She shoved the Allspark into Megatron's chest cavity as he tried to claw the Allspark out of his chest cavity.

"You maggot I'll kill you for this….!" Megatron roared in pain as something suddenly hit Mikaela in her eye making her reach for her eye at the same time.

"Ow," she cried out.

The treacherous warlord malfunctioned and collapsed onto the ground and offlined; while Mikaela suddenly stopped and her eyes blinked as symbols shot through her mind just like they did for Sam.

She gasped.

"Optimus…?" she whispered as she dropped to the ground passed out cold.

"Mikaela….!" Optimus exclaimed as he went to her just as he realized she was passed out cold.

Starscream, Barricade and Frenzy escaped the confrontation between the Autobots and humans. Starscream himself headed someplace else to let a special being know; Megatron had perished by the hand of a human female.

Something he knew this being would not be happy about…..

Optimus used his holoform and knelt by Mikaela's side; who slowly started to come to. She saw Optimus and smiled sadly as her hand went to his face.

"Optimus," she whispered as she frowned as she saw those symbols once more; but tried to ignore it. She looked at Optimus; and her eyes rolled back and she passed out once more which startled Optimus.

"Mikaela," Optimus said as Ratchet used his holoform and tried to help Mikaela.

From afar, Tom Bandacheck did not look happy one bit NBE-1 was destroyed and the Allspark all in one shot because of the Autobots interfering and that girl. He pulled out his cell phone and spoke to someone on the other end.

"The Autobot leader seems very interested in the human girl who destroyed NBE-1; any thoughts on this?" Bandacheck asked the other person on the end of the conversation.

Silence…..

"Alright, I will take care of it," Bandacheck said as he stared evilly at both Optimus Prime and Mikaela. "Bet on it, sir," he added.

On a deserted planet in a ship…

Starscream arrived and transformed into bi pedal form and walked over to a being chained his legs and servos.

"Master, I bring bad news Megatron was destroyed by a human female; and the Allspark was destroyed along with Megatron." Starscream remarked.

"Nonsense, we can revive him with an Allspark shard; and we can get the information we need from the human's mind." the being snarled. "I want that retched planet destroyed and that last Prime as well; he is the only one who can destroy me. He must be taken out; so revive Megatron so he can take care of him." the being ordered.

"Yes master at once," Starscream said with a sneer not liking that idea of reviving Megatron.

He wanted to be leader not Megatron, and he didn't want Megatron back in leadership not again.

Back on Earth….

Mikaela was inside her guardian's cab and covered up; Mikaela snuggled down deeply in the covers. Mikaela smiled to herself; while thoughts of Optimus ran through her mind her wish was coming true. She hadn't realized just how protective Optimus would get about the fact an Allspark shard had gotten into her eyes. He went absolutely crazy with worry not knowing what exactly would happen to her; especially since Ratchet was not sure either that made it all the more upsetting.

So, when the president suggested a place for them to stay; and for the group NEST to be formed Optimus asked if Mikaela could be brought to the base in secret where he and his Autobots could protect her from harm.

The Government officials had no problems with that as long as she didn't tell others outside of her parents; and they kept everything to themselves.

Optimus pulled up at Mikaela's house along with Lennox inside of Ironhide; they were going to have to tell Mikaela's parents now. Mikaela had to pack up what she would needed for her apartment on the base; and she wasn't sure how to tell her parents especially knowing how her mom tended to be a little hyper with her baseball bat.

"She has to go where?" shrieked Judy her bat in her hands as she looked at who to hit with it.

"Mrs. Witwicky, it's for her own safety Optimus will keep her protected he is her guardian now." Lennox said.

Judy turned toward Optimus her eyes flared.

"You better take care of our girl; or I will turn you into a can opener, got it." she growled.

Optimus smiled.

"I give you my word, Mrs. Witwicky," Optimus said.

Lennox also told them they could not tell anyone about this or about the aliens; which both Judy and Ron agreed they wouldn't tell a soul.

Mikaela hugged her parents; and after her stuff was packed up she got into Optimus' cab to start her new life with Optimus and the Autobots.

Mikaela was fixing up her new apartment and adjusting rather well to her new home; Optimus came over all over time and the two were indissoluble. It was nice seeing Optimus so happy for a change. However one Autobot was not happy with the situation; and that Autobot was Ironhide; he did not approve of Optimus' friendship with Mikaela. It wasn't Optimus he would tell though; it was Mikaela who got his backlash.

"Hey Hide," Mikaela said cheerfully. "I heard new arrivals were coming today." she said as he just grunted and she shrugged not understand his tone with her.

Mikaela saw the new vehicles approaching as she realized they were early returning; and she was anxious to see the new arrivals but Optimus once more. She had recognized the ones coming in with Optimus. They were Jolt, Sideswipe, Skids and Mudflap, and she saw only Arcee and wondered about where her sisters were. She decided not to question though, because it would be rude of her.

Several hours later…

Optimus was in a meeting; and he was listening to the new liaison Theodore Galloway and was slowly losing his patience with the man. Lennox and Epps were just about ready to toss the man out; when Mikaela had peered inside the building and heard what Galloway said to Optimus.

"If I speak to the president you and your kind will be off this planet so fast it will make your heads spin and furthermore…"

"You need to shut your trap, Galloway; if it weren't for Optimus and his Autobots our planet would be screwed. They are what are keeping our planet safe now from Starscream and the leftover Decepticons so learn to be nice to them!" Mikaela snapped as Ironhide narrowed his optics at Mikaela.

"Stupid human femme," he snarled.

"You listen to me, girl; you may be here on this base. However you are not a soldier or an Autobot so get out of this meeting, now!" roared Galloway.

"Mikaela," Optimus said softly as Optimus motioned to Arcee who nodded and went over to Mikaela. "Please stay with Mikaela, Arcee." Optimus said his voice sounded tired then.

"Come on, Mikaela," she said as Mikaela suddenly felt bad.

"Sorry," she whispered to Optimus who had already focused his attention back to Galloway.

Mikaela turned and heard Ironhide's words; which made her heart sink then.

"She's a loose cannon, Prime," Ironhide growled as Optimus sighed.

"Enough, Ironhide," Optimus said in an annoyed tone of voice.

Ironhide huffed, but became silent. He was not happy about that human femme; she was trouble of that he was certain.

Starscream was told by the fallen where to locate an extra Allspark shard; so he went to retrieve it and take a few Decepticons to go and retrieve and revive Megatron. This didn't take long for them to do, when Megatron had powered up and took off into the air toward where his master his processors only hitting on one thing and one thing only. He wanted revenge on his brother and the human female he protected for her killing him and destroying the Allspark.

"I will make her pay!" Megatron roared in anger.

"Master she is protected by your brother," Starscream remarked sourly.

"If she is harmed or taken from the Prime, he will come for her, Apprentice." the fallen said with a sneer.

Silence….

"Use the human female to get to your brother," the fallen remarked bitterly.

Silence…..

"Then revenge will be ours," the fallen remarked.

"Yes," Megatron said with a deadly smile.

Arcee had taken Mikaela for a ride around the base; and as she raced around Mikaela suddenly had the symbols hit her once more. She gasped, and then fell off of Arcee making Arcee spin around and transform going to Mikaela.

"Mikaela….!" Arcee exclaimed going to the fallen human female.

::::::::… Arcee to Optimus, come in Optimus…..:::::::

:::::::….. Optimus here go ahead Arcee….::::::::

:::::::….. Optimus come here quickly, it's Mikaela….:::::::::

::::::::… WHAT, what happened to her….:::::::

::::::::…You need to hurry and bring Ratchet with you….:::::::

::::::::….. I'm on my way….:::::::

"What's wrong, Prime?" Ironhide asked.

"Something is wrong with Mikaela," Optimus said as he hurried and got Ratchet as Ironhide looked furious at the mention of Mikaela's name.

"Slagging human femme," Ironhide growled as he went over to where his leader and Prime stood with Ratchet and Arcee along with some NEST soldiers who had gathered around to see what happened.

Ratchet took Mikaela to the medical bay; while Ironhide stewed in his increasing anger which flowed through his energon boiling it completely.

Arcee could tell something was bothering Ironhide; she hadn't served with him for vorns not to know when he was concerned about something.

"What is it, Ironhide?" Arcee asked.

"This human has Prime torn in so many directions I just don't think it's safe for him is all. He is our leader and she has him so different now." Ironhide said.

"I'm sure Optimus knows what he's doing." Arcee said.

"I hope you're right, Arcee; because I just don't like this hold she has on him." Ironhide said as neither Autobot realized Mikaela was awake and had heard everything Ironhide had said about her.

Ironhide went after Prime and Ratchet as Arcee stayed behind with Mikaela and realized Mikaela was awake.

"You're okay; you can bet Optimus will be glad to hear that." Arcee said as Mikaela remained silent. "Mikaela….?"

Mikaela remained silent as her heart felt heavy now learning the truth about how Ironhide felt about her.

"What is it; what's wrong, Mikaela?" Arcee asked.

"Ironhide doesn't like me much, does he?" Mikaela asked.

Arcee stopped and eyed her with a strange uneasy silence at first.

"I heard him talking when I woke up please don't let him know, Arcee." Mikaela said. "I need to go for a ride." she said softly.

"But Mikaela…." Arcee started to say until she saw the expression in her eyes.

"I'll take Bumblebee with me I'll be okay." She said.

Before Arcee could stop her she had gotten into Bumblebee and he sped off buzzing passed Optimus, Ratchet and Ironhide.

"Where's Bumblebee off too?" Ironhide asked as Arcee called out for Optimus.

"Optimus, come here." Arcee said as Optimus gazed over at Arcee.

"Yes, report." Optimus said.

"Mikaela woke up…. "Arcee started to say until Optimus interrupted her.

"She did?" Optimus asked heading back in and looking for her. "Where is she?" He asked when he didn't see her anywhere.

"That's what I was trying to finish saying to you she took off with Bumblebee." Arcee said.

"What? She needs to heal properly and completely first." Ratchet replied as Arcee saw Ironhide watching her with that 'I told you so' expression on his face.

"Starscream and the Decepticons could be looking for her; we need to find her and Bumblebee." Optimus said as Ironhide was silent alerting Optimus to his strange behavior.

"What is it, Ironhide?" Optimus asked him finally.

Ironhide was silent first not wanting to annoy or anger his leader and friend, but someone had to tell him what was going on.

"I say good riddance, Optimus, let her stay away from you. She's changed you, Optimus you seem to care more about her more than leading us on our missions!" Ironhide roared.

Optimus gazed over at his friend and fellow Autobot and studied his expression knowing Ironhide was completely one hundred percent behind what he was telling him.

"I have always cared about other life forms; it is our job as Autobots to preserve life and protect lives not take them." Optimus said.

"Really, you mean to the point of going after her without using your processors. This goes beyond simply caring about other life forms as a prime an Autobot; you are in love with that human, aren't you?" Ironhide demanded. "First, you insist on being her guardian which is fine; but then you are constantly with her day and night spending all your free time and more with her." Ironhide snapped.

"Stand down, Ironhide; I am your leader." Optimus remarked.

"Then act like it, Prime, stop favoring that human over us." Ironhide said as Optimus looked at Arcee and Ratchet.

Optimus wondered if Ratchet and Arcee felt the same way as Ironhide.

"Do you two agree with him?" Optimus asked.

"No, Optimus; we don't." Ratchet replied.

"No, Optimus, I don't either." Arcee said as Ironhide became very agitated by the fact no one took his side on this matter.

Ironhide was not giving up on this subject matter it concerned him and intended to make Optimus listen to reason.

"Prime, she's going to lead you and the rest of us straight to our destruction mark my words." Ironhide replied as none of the Autobots had any idea Mikaela had Bumblebee listening in and her heart sank at Ironhide's words.

She had heard everything Ironhide had said about her Bumblebee hadn't wanted her to do that; because of what she might've found out. He felt the pain inside of her heart; and it bothered him to see her so heartbroken.

"I told you I didn't want to spy now you've ended up hurt." Bumblebee said.

Mikaela was silent.

"Kaela….?"

Mikaela couldn't believe what Ironhide had accused her of, but yet there it was she had heard it for herself.

"Ironhide really does hate me and mistrusts me." She whispered as Bumblebee was tired of seeing this human being hurt by Ironhide.

Bumblebee switched frequencies and sent a special commlink to send audio and visual about what they were saying. So, the Autobots especially Ironhide could see what his words did to her.

Optimus, Arcee, Ratchet and Ironhide received a hologram of Mikaela and Bumblebee talking.

"What's going on?" Arcee asked as they all watched and heard for themselves just how much Ironhide had hurt Mikaela.

Bumblebee sat by Mikaela, he could see she was crying and made sure that was seen too by the Autobots.

"I had wanted a once in a lifetime chance to be with Optimus and then I wanted to change all the badness that happened. I made a mistake I know that now; we can't be together we are too different. Ironhide will never let me have Optimus; he will always be trying to keep us apart." She said as Optimus couldn't believe what he was hearing from this sweet but confused human.

"Mikaela, no…." He whispered as Ironhide glanced away feeling guiltier with every word she spoke now.

"She thinks you hate her, Ironhide and that she doesn't belong here with Optimus." Ratchet said annoyed with Ironhide.

Bumblebee had to ask Mikaela one last question that kept racing around in his thoughts.

"What about the Decepticons?" Bumblebee asked her.

"Yeah well, they need me because of those stupid symbols floating around in my head. Then if Megatron who will end up coming back along with the other Decepticons; if they lose it and kill me then Optimus and the other Autobots will be safe. I guess you could call it a last gift to them so to speak." She said as tears ran down her face as Bumblebee moved closer and moved a metal finger close to her face.

"Please don't cry, Kaela." He said.

Optimus was both angry and upset both by this new turn of events.

"I don't care what it takes you stop this insane nonsense regarding Mikaela, whom I choose for a charge and friend is my concern and no one else!" Optimus ordered.

"Yes sir," Ironhide said as he felt so guilty now.

"Prime, let me bring her back it's my fault she left in the first place." Ironhide said as Optimus was so furious with Ironhide. "I should have known she was special to begin with I'm sorry, Prime." Ironhide said.

"Affirmative, go ahead but make sure you let her know you're sorry about those terrible things you said about her." Prime said.

Optimus glanced back at the hologram; and he sighed he was starting to feel something for Mikaela. He didn't want her out of his life at all; and he was disgusted that Ironhide was trying to create problems for them.

"She's special to us all and you just treated her like she was just some little human pest." Optimus said as Arcee got a lock on where Bumblebee and Mikaela were.

"I've got it, Optimus." Arcee said.

"Good, Autobots roll out." Optimus said anxious to get Mikaela back.

Xxx

"You're awful quiet." Bumblebee said.

"It just stings, I had no idea Ironhide hated me so much; I knew he didn't approve of Optimus being with me. Because Ironhide sees it another way, he thinks I am a waste of time and space." She said as Bumblebee saw Optimus pull up and transform; as Mikaela turned her head and saw him walk up.

"Optimus," She whispered as he wearily turned his head hearing her voice hoping he wasn't imagining it.

"Optimus, I care about you so much," she said as Optimus gently moved a metal hand low to the ground and Mikaela climbed on.

"You are so very much a part of me now, you are part of this family more then you'll ever know, Mikaela." Optimus said as he added in his sexy baritone voice. "You mean everything to me; I believe I have fallen in love with you. I know I do not want you apart from me, Mikaela,"

Mikaela grinned, when he said that to her.

"You are falling in love with me?" she asked.

"Yes," he answered.

She beamed with so much emotion then.

"I don't have to guess I know I am falling in love with you, Optimus," Mikaela said.

"I would like to try something; if you do not mind being adventurous with me?" Optimus asked.

"Of course I would love to try anything with you," she said.

Optimus, Bumblebee and Mikaela heard Ironhide pull up; and Mikaela narrowed her eyes at first waiting for Ironhide to make a nasty remark.

Ironhide transformed, and then he had a serious expression on his face when he stood in bi pedal form.

"I owe you an apology for everything I ever did and said to you, Mikaela." Ironhide said as she smiled.

"It's forgotten, Ironhide." she said.

"You're okay for a human." Ironhide said.

"Thanks, Ironhide."

"You're welcome," Ironhide replied as Optimus glanced down at Mikaela in his hand as she glanced up at him and smiled.

"She's special, Ironhide." Optimus said as Ironhide glanced over in Mikaela's direction once more.

"Go back to NEST; I am taking Mikaela someplace private for a bit." Optimus said as Ironhide and Bumblebee nodded.

"Okay," Ironhide and Bumblebee said as they both transformed and took off.

Mikaela glanced back up at Optimus and grinned.

"So, I guess I am all yours now," she said as he glanced back down at her and smirked.

"You belong to me, Mikaela," Optimus said in a possessive tone of voice making Mikaela shiver completely. "Here, let me transform and take you someplace more private; and then we can experiment." Optimus said in a playful tone making her very interested in what he had planned for her now.

(NEST BASE)

Ratchet and Ironhide were talking then about Mikaela and Optimus' relationship; and Ratchet had to chuckle.

"What's so funny, medic?" Ironhide asked.

"Do you remember when Optimus first started to feel something for Mikaela?" Ratchet asked.

Ironhide chuckled then.

"Yes, I sure do," Ironhide said.

(Flashback starts)

Optimus was getting an exam in the medical bay; when Mikaela came in just after she had formally moved onto the base after her parents moved away for safety reasons. Mikaela had walked into the medical bay and that was it for Optimus then.

"Hello, Mikaela."

The second Optimus Prime saw Mikaela was when his spark started to jolt and jump alerting Ratchet to the change in his friend's spark.

"What's wrong, why are you here in the medical bay?" She asked putting her hand on his enormous metal hand making his spark jump and jolt once more.

"It's nothing, little one; I am fine." He said as she kissed him on his metal cheek with a cute little smile. "You're an awesome leader and sweet Autobot, Optimus; but you're a terrible liar." She said as she looked up at him with a silly little grin on her face.

Ratchet watched the playful interactions between his leader and Mikaela and slowly came to a conclusion he didn't realize could be possible for their leader to do again. Their leader had come to care more for Mikaela then he let on to even himself. Ratchet saw Mikaela leave the medical bay so he went over to Prime.

"Optimus, those jolts and jumps do they only occur when Mikaela's around you?" Ratchet asked as Optimus looked over at Ratchet with a strange expression on his face.

"Yes."

Ratchet smiled and put his hand on Prime's shoulder.

"There is nothing wrong with you, Prime." Ratchet said as Optimus looked at him oddly.

"But I do not understand why is my spark going haywire then?" Optimus asked.

Ratchet glanced over to where Mikaela was talking with Jazz and Bumblebee. Optimus followed Ratchet's gaze and when he saw Mikaela once more his spark jolted and jumped in his chest.

"What are you saying?" Optimus asked.

"You my friend have strong feelings for her." Ratchet said as Optimus shook his head.

"What?"

"You've acquired more human feelings, my friend." Ratchet said.

"But how, Ratchet; how is this even possible?" Prime asked.

"Prime, your compassion and wisdom exceeds all of us. Why shouldn't you be allowed to have something special with Mikaela?" Ratchet said as Prime felt so unsure of the feelings he was experiencing for the fiery brunette.

"You're saying I am falling in love with her?" He asked Ratchet.

"Yes Optimus that is exactly what I am saying." Ratchet said.

"She has already expressed the fact she cares for me, do you think it would work, Ratchet?" Optimus asked.

Ratchet knew she secretly felt something for Optimus Prime and Mikaela already was willing to have a relationship or she wouldn't have wanted this new life she had wished for.

"Prime, you deserve to be happy." Ratchet said as Optimus glanced over at Mikaela his spark continuing to jolt and jump proving he was truly falling in love with Mikaela.

Optimus kept trying to think of how to tell Mikaela he loved her. Ratchet was right he did need Mikaela very much, he loved her very much.

Optimus walked over toward Mikaela who was talking with Bumblebee about something when he slowly approached her.

"Mikaela, can I talk with you please?" he asked as she smiled and looked up at Optimus.

"Sure you can, Optimus." She replied.

Optimus lowered his metal hand and she climbed on. Optimus walked toward the rock cliff that held the Autobot/NEST stronghold secret. He lowered his hand and let her climb off.

She watched him as he looked like he was having trouble with his thoughts. Optimus could feel once again his spark jolting and jumping as he looked down at her. He slowly and gently sat down on the ground beside her.

"Optimus, what's wrong?" She asked in a concerned tone of voice.

"Mikaela, what would you say if I told you I was acquiring feelings for you?" He asked as a beautiful warm smile touched her lips.

"You are, really?" She asked as she looked at this giant alien robot that held her life in his servos.

"Yes, little one I can feel my spark jolt and jump whenever you're near me. I need you by my side constantly." He said as there was a catch in this big Autobot leader's voice.

Mikaela watched as this strong amazing Autobot leader poured out all his emotions to her. "I never knew I could feel such things again it confused me that was why I was in the medical bay. I felt strange my spark never did those things before. I would like for us to try this and be mates, if you would like to try this with me?" He asked as Mikaela looked up at this compassionate leader of the Autobots and with tears in her eyes she told him her thoughts and feelings to what he had just told her.

"I would like to do that I believe it would be just as awesome, Optimus, I really do." Mikaela said.

Optimus looked down at Mikaela silent at first as his spark jumped harder in his chest.

"I knew what you told me when we first met, but I was still concerned I am an alien being that is made from metal not flesh and blood." Optimus said.

"No, you have compassion, Optimus." She said as he looked at her. "You are special, Optimus." She replied as she felt tears slide down her face. "I had felt something for you since the moment I met you remember, Optimus." She said.

Optimus eyed her as his spark charging up and racing faster driving Optimus crazy; because everything was so new to him.

"Our relationship can't be like humans, Mikaela; please think this through because if you accept me now. Then grow tired of our relationship or bond whichever you want to call it I don't know if I could handle it…" He said not wanting to think of losing her.

"Optimus, you think too much there is so much more to love then all the basic normal things humans usually do." She said.

Optimus made a sound Mikaela had never heard before; she looked up at him and knew he was weighing heavy thoughts once more about the situation.

"Optimus, we'll explore this, but together." She said as he gazed at her.

Mikaela motioned Optimus to lower his hand; she climbed on and once close to his face. She kissed his metal cheek and just ran her hand gently over his face which caused another sound from Optimus. He was losing this battle it was clear to him now, he had to surrender because truth be known he couldn't survive without her. It was clear she was now a part of him.
