Everyone was partying and having a great time. I was watching as Evie had her picture taken by the press, and being broadcast on live TV. Suddenly fanfare music played. I turned my attention to Lumire standing up front.
"The future Lady Mal!" he said. I gasp as soon as I see Mal. She looks stunning. Evie starts clapping, and I do too.
"Whoo!" Evie yells.
"That's my best friend! Whoo!" I shout. Everyone starts to cheer and applaud Mal. Mal, Belle and Beast start to have a conversation. Evie gets Mal.
"Look, we're right here with you, okay?" I hear Evie say. Fanfare music began to play again. I look over to the front.
"King Benjamin!" Ben comes out. Ben comes down to Mal and bows. Mal awkwardly tries to bow.
"Mal, I wish I had time to explain." Ben says. I feel my hair fire start up. The fanfare music played AGAIN! Then, out came Shrimpy. I gasp, and stand next to Mal. Uma looks like she died and came back to life. Ben goes and takes Uma's hand. Ben bows and kisses Uma's hand! My hair must be blazing now.
"I'm sorry. It all happened so fast. Something happened to me when I was on the Isle with Uma. A connection." Ben says
"You just played my best friend! I swear I will-" I start. Carlos stops me. I cross my arms and glare at Ben and Uma.
"What are you saying?" Mal asks Ben.
"I'm saying…" Ben starts.
"It was love." Uma says. I don't believe this one bit! "It was." Uma giggled.
"I just… I realized how alike Ben and I are, you know?" They said some sappy thing and giggled.
"You're so beautiful." Ben said to Uma. I felt a fiery rage inside of me. Mal called Ben back to reality.
"Did you go back for her?" Mal asked.
"He didn't have to. I dove through the barrier before it closed, and I'm an excellent swimmer." Uma says. Ben tells her how amazing she is. I look at Mal, whose heart is breaking before her eyes. I focus on my powers.
"You were right. You knew that we weren't meant to be together. That's why you never told me you loved me." I hear Ben say. Rage courses through my veins. Ben shouldn't be with Uma! Bal not Buma! Uma hands her wallet to a random girl, and I take it with my powers. Ben and Uma share a dance.
"Not too thrilled I risked my life for him." Carlos says. Uma and Ben continue to dance.
"We're with you Mal." Lonnie says. We all go to leave, my hair ablaze.
"And now, for the unveiling of King Ben's masterpiece, designed especially for his lady." Fanfare music plays. I whirl around. The curtain falls, and I gasp. A stained glass picture of Mal and Ben. I applaud.
"Ben did that?" Mal asks.
"Yeah." Evie says.
"He did." I say, I know something isn't right. Mal takes mine and Evie's hands and walks toward the masterpiece. My hair fire goes out.
"Ben's known who I was all along." Mal says.
"He loves the real you, M." Evie says.
"A true love." mal breathes.
"Uma spelled him!" I whisper. Uma tries to get the masterpiece covered back up.
"Um, uh… why don't you tell everyone the present you have for me, ben?" Uma asks.
"I have an announcement!" Ben exclaims. I furrow my eyebrows. "Uma will be joining the court tonight as my lady." Ben says.
"Son…" Beast starts.
"Not now, Dad!" Ben explodes. "The…" Ben tries to compose himself.
"Uh, so as my gift to her, I'm bringing down the barrier once and for all." Everyone gasps. "Fairy Godmother." I feel my hair fire start up again. "Bring down the barrier." Ben says.
"I most certainly will not." Fairy Godmother says.
"I am your KIng!" Ben explodes, again.
"Obey him." Uma says. Everyone gasps. I turn to Mal.
"Ben's been spelled. True love's kiss." I say.
"Uma found your spellbook, Mal." Evie says. Mal walks up to Ben. Mal and Uma both try to get Ben to look at them.
"Bring down the barrier now!" Uma shouts.
"I do not take orders from you!" Fairy Godmother says. Gasps fly around the ship. When all is silent, I hear Mal.
"Ben, I never told you that I loved you because I thought that I wasn't good enough. And I thought that it was only a matter of time before you realized that yourself. But, Ben, that's me!" Mal points to the stained glass window. "I'm part Isle and part Auradon."
"Ben, eyes over here." Uma says.
"And, Ben, you've always known who we were and who we can be." Mal says.
"Don't listen to her." Uma says.
"Ben, I know what love feels like now. Ben, of course I love you. Ben, I've always loved you." Mal says, and gives Ben his true love's kiss. Ben smiles.
"Mal." he says.
"True love's kiss." Evie says.
"Works every time." I finished. Uma makes a grab for the wand, but is stopped with chains I conjured. Uma goes to jump into the water.
"No, no! Stop, please! Stop!" Mal exclaims. "Uma, I know you. You are so much more than just a villain. And you have to believe me, because I've been there. Do not let your pride get in the way of something that you really want." Uma's necklace glows. Mal walks up to Uma, who then jumps into the water.
"No, no! Uma!" Mal shouts. Uma goes down into the water. Horrified, I think she died. Nope! Uma comes back up in sea witch form. My hair fire starts, and my necklace glows. Uma says something, but I'm focusing on my powers.
"Let's do this." I say. Mal walks away from the group and starts pacing. Her eyes glow green. Purple smoke forms around Mal. Mal then turns into a dragon. I take off my necklace, and throw it onto Mal's arm. I am then able to control the fire I was born to control and shoot it right at Uma. I allow myself a smile. Again and again, I shoot fire at Uma. Ben jumps in, and my mind starts to feel fuzzy. I watch Uma disappear under the waves. My head hurts. Mal turns back into a human, and Tosses me my ember. My headache goes away when I put it on. Me and Evie go and get Mal.
"So, I did not know I could do that." Mal says.
"Tell me about it!" I say.
"That makes three of us." Evie says. Mal's purple dress has a little flame, which Evie blows out.
"Thank you." Mal says.
"Shall we?" Me and Evie ask at the same time.
"We shall." Mal says. Mal goes up to Ben, who kisses her. I look away.
"I owe you guys so much." Ben says.
"That's an understatement." I say.
"Yeah." Evie says.
"Really." Jay says.
"Yep." Doug says.
"You got that right." Carlos says.
"Just a little bit." Evie says.
"If there is anything that you need, or anything I can do for you…" Ben starts.
"Um, actually, there is, Ben." Evie says. "I know a girl who would really love to come to Auradon. It's Drizella's daughter, Dizzy. She's like a little sister to me."
"Then she should come." Ben says.
"Okay!" Evie says with a laugh. "Okay, great!" I think Evie is done, but in true Evie fashion, she isn't. "Actually, um…" Evie burst out laughing. I laugh too. "Ben, there's a lot of kids who would really love it here in Auradon. Kids just like us, who also deserve a second chance. Can I maybe get you a list?" Evie asked.
"Yes, yes! Absolutely, please." Ben says. The crowd around us cheers. I smile. More kids coming to Auradon!
"M'lady Mal, we found your spellbook below deck. Uma had it."
"Ooh. Um… You know, this seems like the kind of thing that belongs in the hands of Fairy Godmother. Fairy Godmother?" Mal asks.
"That's me, thank you. Mm-hmm." Fairy Godmother says.
"This belongs in the museum." Mal says.
"It does, yes, and I'm gonna take it." Fairy Godmother says.
"Go for it." Mal says. Laughter is heard. I smile. Mal turns to Ben. "I'm not gonna be needing it anymore." Mal says.
"You can have her spellbook, but I'm keeping my ember for now." I say, jokingly.
"Yeah, you almost died not having it on." Jay says. Mal suddenly splashes Ben, and she laughs. Ben splashes Mal back. I smile, knowing this is where I belong.
