Hello and welcome to the finale of chapter 1, enjoy.

"That will be 1000 yen," a shopkeeper said to both Xen and Sam. Both were in front of a store buying packs of sea salt ice cream. Xen handed the yen to the store owner and began to walk away with Sam, pulling out an ice cream and starting to eat it.

Sam looked at Xen with concern and asked, "Do you have to buy those every time you run out?"

Xen only gave a deadpan look to his friend. He responded, "Of course I do, I love sea salt ice cream! Don't think I can live without it."

Sam just shook his head. He responded, "But you've been eating so much, I'm surprised you haven't gained weight from it."

Xen gave a smug look to Sam while waving his ice cream at his friend.

"Well, I just burn it off by working out or sword fights," Xen replied. They both looked back to the road, Sam with both arms behind his back.

"Guess you're right, Xen, what could ever happen? Not like you're going to split into two beings to make an ultimate weapon!"

Both share a laugh as they continue walking Xen home, sea salt packs in hand. Thinking back to the time when he and Chase first met their ice cream loving friend or to be more accurate, when they found him. It was almost a few months ago when Sam discovered Xen washed up on a nearby beach. He didn't remember much besides the fact that his name was Xen. He was living in town and got used to how things work around here although he lives in his own place. At times Sam and Chase would visit his home to hang out and before they knew it, they all became best friends.

"You're sure you still can't remember anything about where you're from, Xen?" Sam asked. Xen looked at him and shook his head.

"I told you Sam. I just can't seem to recall anything, not even a memory of where I came from. If I did, I would have looked at the library for clues," he claimed. Sam decided not to push the subject further as they were both near Xen's house, small as it is Xen didn't mind the size of it for he preferred the simple things in life. Upon arrival, they both saw Chase training with his shinai sword in front of the house.

"Hi Chase!" Sam shouted. Chase stopped himself mid-swing and turned towards his two friends.

"Hello to you too Sam, Xen" He greeted with a smile as he sheathed his blade. They all bowed respectfully to one another before deciding to chill outside the house. Taking out three bars of ice cream, Xen passed them out to his friends as they felt a gentle breeze brush through their hair.

"Hey guys?" Chase spoke.

"Yeah man?" Xen responded as the three watched the warm orange sun set into the distance.

"Do you ever wonder what's out there?" Chase asked as he looked up to the peaceful sky. Both Xen and Sam looked at him in confusion.

"You mean besides the sea?" Sam joked. Chase closed his eyes and sighed.

"Guys, I'm serious. Do you even think that there's more out there than just this town? Worlds outside of our own that are just begging to be explored. Adventures through places we could only imagine, with new people and animals and food!'' Chase explained with a passion. Sam chuckled at his friend's enthusiasm.

"Hey, maybe they'll give Xen something that makes him forget about sea salt ice cream." He proposed sarcastically.

"No, not my sea salt ice cream!" Xen recoiled in horror. The three then laughed at mere thought, but the idea of multiple worlds lingered in their mind.

"Honestly Chase, maybe there are multiple worlds out there and maybe… just maybe… one of them can tell me who I am." Xen said. Both Sam and Chase looked at their friend in pity, wishing that there was some way that they could help him. Sure, they were good company but the two wondered if there was a part of Xen that felt sad and alone.

Xen finished his ice cream and jumped to his feet, a vigorous smile present upon his face.

"Alright guys, it's time for us to train. Especially you, Chase!" He claimed.

"Oh wow, the bonehead actually remembers something." Chase jabbed with a grin. Xen glared at him but decided to just shrug it off. Getting up Chase walked over to Xen's back yard as Xen and Sam followed him.

"So have you been keeping up with your training Xen or do I have to remind you again?" Chase asked, pulling out his shinai he aimed it at xen. Sam walked over to Xen with a wooden sword and handed it to him.

"The only reminder I need is how to kick your ass." Xen grinned as he took a battle stance. Chase readied himself as Sam stood between them with his arms raised to the air.

"Ready...GO!"

First Xen dashed at Chase and slashed at him but Chase was on the defensive as he moved his shinai to block each individual strike. The two traded blows, blocking and parrying in rapid succession.

Xen went for some quick and powerful strikes while Chase stayed on the defensive.

"Good, Trying to overwhelm your opponent with quick but concentrated strikes, huh?" Chase asked before he kicked Xen back. Xen growled and held his chest. He decided to change up his strategy and returned to his battle stance. He ran around Chase, waiting for an opening in Chase's guard.

Chase slowly moves his shinai into position while he keeps his eyes on Xen. Chase raised his shinai as Xen charged at him with a downward slash. Xen twirled his sword to perform an upper slash that took Chase by surprise. Chase quickly steps back as the wooden sword grazes at his shirt.

"Almost caught me off guard there, Xen." He admitted with a smile. Xen had made so much progress with his training but that didn't mean he was going to let himself get outdone. Xen returned to his battle stance, his eyes locked onto his opponent. The two charged at each other, clashing their weapons in an attempt to outdo the other.

The two friends spar lasted for quite some time as Sam watches in amazement by Xen's progress, he was matching Chase blow for blow as an equal.

One of them has to let up, the only question is who? He thought. Not long after that thought passed his mind, Chase landed a strong blow to Xen's stomach.

"Agh!" Xen gasped as he held his stomach and fell to his knees. Chase pointed his shinai sword towards his throat.

"Give up now." Chase demanded. Xen grinned as he swept Chase off his feet and got on top of him with his sword pressed against his throat.

"Do you give up?" Xen grinned. Chase just smiled and decided to accept defeat.

"The winner of this spar goes to Xen!" Sam announced, Xen got off of chase and offered him a hand.

"Well you certainly have improved a lot Xen, how many does that make now? 30 to 1." Chase snarked.

"Hahahaha, yeah but I'll get it even one day, Chase." Xen retorted. Both friends shared a laugh with Sam joining in. They all relaxed and talked after a while,however, soon both Chase and Sam had to head home.

"Hey...Xen?" Chase stop right as he was about to leave, looking back at his friend

"Yeah Chase?" Xen asked, wondering what Chase was going to ask him

"If you ever remember where your home is ...will you still stay with us or leave?" Chase asked. The question throws Xen off, he never once thought about that choice.

"I'm not sure, Chase…. I mean, I would like to remember where I'm from but… I'm not sure if I would want to go back if it meant leaving you guys." Xen answered. Chase looked up to the sky in wonderment.

"Hmmm... then I wonder what you'll choose when the time comes..." He thought aloud, walking away while leaving Xen to ponder the question.

Would I stay? He pondered. Or would I go home? These thoughts stuck with him as He went inside his house.

-later on-

Lying in his bed Xen's mind repeated the question Chase asked him over and over. Would I stay? or will I leave to do whatever I want? I made so many memories here... what life did I live before washing up on shore here? He puts his pillow on his face as the thoughts just numb his mind.

*Krakoom*

"Ahh!" Getting up he looked outside at the clouds gathering around to a-"what the f-" A Red orb forms in the sky over the beach. "W-what is going on here!?" Xen gasps, he gets up to take a closer look.

Heart… Heart… heart...

Looking behind him Xen saw beings of shadows start to form, these beings were similar to the ones in his dream but they had a more shadowy look to them. "No… this isn't real…" He shook his head in denial. He runs out of his house and sees everything around him slowly breaking apart.

Heart… Heart… Heart...

The shadows were appearing everywhere in town. "What's happening here?...Chase??... Sam?!" Xen called as he tried to remember where to go if anything were to happen to this town. Now he remembered that all three agreed to meet at a beach nearby, Xen that runs to the beach to dodge out of the way of shadows beings.

-later-

Making it to his usual nap spot Xen sees Chase standing there looking up at the red orb in the sky "Chase! Chase!" Xen yells as he runs over to Chase, getting closer behind him he slows down and breathes heavily.

"Xen, the worlds are opening." Chase looks back at Xen with no fear in his voice "We can see what's out there." Reaching his hand out to Xen as a portal of shadows opens below them.

"Chase!" Xen runs over as chase is sucked into the portal, for that moment everything slows down. Xen can only watch as Chase sinks into the shadows, leaving him behind. "CHASE!!" He yelled at the top of his lungs. Xen stopped running, unable to go any further. He watched how the town and the entire world around it slowly disappeared.

"Why...how is this happening?"

Shadow beings appear all around Xen, slowly making their way to him.

Heart… heart… heart...

All he can do is simply watch them get near him

what can I do?

As the creature's of shadows near him. Xen begins to think of his friends. The times that had, memories

{} Light...

Time slowly resumes as the shadows jump at Xen only to knock back as a weapon appears in Xen hands.

Keyblade… keyblade… keyblade...

"W-what?" Holding up a weapon in his hands that was in the shape of a key "... a keyblade?..." Looking all around he notices the shadows are now acting differently, More hostile as those close in on him.

"No time to wonder that now" getting into his fighting stand, he ran at the first shadows being in front of him and started slashing them left to right as he turned to smoke after getting hit by the keyblade.

Xen makes his way down to the beach as he starts destroying the shadow beings, but that keeps on coming like there is no end to them.

"There are so many of these things, How can I take them all down?" Soon through all the shadows that sink into the ground "huh?" The ground under him began to shake as it broke off and began to float up to the orb but stopped in mid air.

Looking all around the shadows all gather together former into a giant shadow blob but soon the blob takes shade into something familiar. A giant plant monster that was in his dream "y-you?" Staring in shock as the monster from his dreams standing in front of him. Rolling out of the way in time as the cages slam where he last was, he runs up and begins to slash the monster at its sides, damage it, the monster turns and tries to hit Xen with it Cage but he jumps over it.

"This time, I know what tricks you have up your sleeve" Slashing and dodges as the giant monster tries to hit Xen with it cages it prove unless as it was too slow, but it had one trick up it sleeve, it belly that begin to fill up as smoke leaks from it mouth "w-what?" Thinking quick Xen rolls back in trying to gain some distance from the monster as it releases fire from its mouth burning the area on broken pieces of land that were on.

"How does a plant monster breathe fire!?" Looking in shock at the plant monster breathing fire before it stopped, it looks back at Xen and roars as shadow grows under it as more of the smaller shadows beings appear out of it.

Getting back into the fight Xen had to take down the big one fast before he get overwhelmed by the small ones, dashing towards the shadows he jumps to hop on each of the shadow beings heads. which were luckily flat so he didn't slip but had to keep a balance as he gets close to the giant shadow.

The giant plant monster mouth emits smoke as it begins to fill its mouth with flames aiming at Xen. Thinking quick Xen jumps to the side as flames shoot out hitting many of the smaller shadows, creating an opening for Xen as he jumps off a shadow being towards the giant head.

Caught off guard the giant was hit hard by the Keyblade and was thrown back. "Got you!" Xen landed on the ground a bit roughly but kept his balance. Looking at the monster he was ready to finish this.

"Raaaaa;" a giant plant monster roared as it got lifted off the ground along with the remaining small beings, looking up Xen see a giant red orb in the sky. All around pieces of Xen home, the island is breaking apart and being sucked into the red orb "w-w-what!" Looking at the red orb Xen couldn't believe what he was seeing. When he saw his clothes started to lift up and point towards the orb "no no no!" Thinking quickly he stabbed his keyblade into the ground and held on tight.

His whole body rises up to the air toward the orb but holding onto his keyblade. Xen held out as long as he could as his home crumbled around him, that a stone hit him in the face as he lost grip of his keyblade and was flowing to the orb. "AAAAAAAAAAAA!!"

As the island finally crumbles and breaks down, Xen gets sucked into the red orb and passes out.

Some time later

Tazmily Village

Daytime

"Come on Lucas! Mom says dinner is going to be special tonight!" yelled out a boy with orange hair and a green striped shirt towards another boy with blond hair and a red and yellow striped shirt. ''Okay!" yells the blond hair boy as he runs up to the orange hair boy.

Tazmily village was busy with life as town folks were doing their daily life, farmers, mailman, lumberjack and all many different people continue on with their day regularly. Two boys can be seen running towards a roar path that leads into the forest.

These two boys are named Lucas and Claus, brothers and have been side by side since birth, both living happily with their mother and father, along with their dog Boney.

As the two boys head back home, "Boney?... Boney!" Lucas called out for his dog but he did not come. "Come in Lucas, Boney will be home, he is a smart boy." Claus pet Lucas on the back and walking ahead of him, one last look around Lucas decided to go home, Boney will come.

Unbeknown to Lucas and Claus there dog Boney was behind in-between two buildings side by side near the road path, he was next to a person who was unconscious, the person was Xen.

Waking up Xen opened his eyes to see a strange eye dog "w-what?" Getting up slowly to rub his head Xen tries to clear his mind, Boney gives him a lick in the cheek "ok ok I'm up I'm up!" Petting the dog to calm him down. Xen got up to his feet and looked around to find himself behind a building. "Why am I here?... wasn't my hom- !" Suddenly realization kicked in as he ran past the dog to out of the back way between two builders.

Taking a Look around out in the open, Xen couldn't recognize everything as it wasn't his home. his home… memory came back for what happened. the shadow beings. Sams and chase gone. everything of his home is gone but only one thought reminds him, why am I… still alive?
