Systematically taking the island apart like a jigsaw puzzle, and sped along by the certainty of his feelings, his familiarity.

But now they were running again, so whatever this was, it apparently required both of them.

She pointed up in the sky. A figure in blue just seemed to be… floating there. And he, the Bat as he knew himself to be, felt a shock of recognition, similar to the one he felt when seeing the Cat. But this was different, he knew this had never occurred before – not here. The simple act of looking up at the figure struck a strange chord in him, like the note of a song he had forgotten.

He looked at her lips. She was standing very close.

We know him. She said. And he nodded. It seemed it was all going according to plan, then.

And then the timer reached zero.
