Fortunately, he didn't have to. He disabled the rest of the satellites with little problem, and as he returned, following the directions Superman gave him, he saw that was well in hand too.

Lois snapped a couple of good pictures as the police put Luthor in hand-cuffs. Superman had to stay to explain why he put a hole in the wall. Standard procedure. Hard to argue with a good entrance.

"Serves Luthor right for not letting me in. Lucky for me, Superman gave me a way to get in contact with him. While Captain Atom took care of the satellites, we -" she coughed, to portray her own involvement, "took care of Luthor on this end. Before he could do anything rash."

Lois couldn't resist getting close enough to poke in a couple of jibes at Luthor at the same time, who was glowering only a few short feet away while a police car pulled up. His face flickered in annoyance as he ignored her barbs, concentrating on just one thing that bothered him.

"How did you know it was me, Lois?"

"Call me Miss Lane, Lex, like the rest. And I didn't. Doesn't mean you weren't the first suspect. Doesn't mean you wouldn't know who it was. Either way, good reason to get you into an interview booth. You should have let me – my interviews would probably have been less embarrassing than with the police."

"Not likely," he said.

As Lex was put into the car, to be put into prison she could only hope, Captain Atom approached her and Superman. Superman turned as he spoke up.

"It was a close call." Captain Atom said.

"I knew you could handle it," they shook hands with smiles. Jimmy wasn't too slow, either, his camera rapid-firing its shutter – he had already moved to a good angle. They said the usual things, "glad you could be there" and "glad I could help out", that sort of courtesy. Even the police officers, for good measure. Wouldn't want to leave anyone out. Which just left her. Superman looked at her for a moment, didn't say anything, but flew off with a smile afterward.

Lois put her hands on her hips, and pursed her lips. "Right, at least now I can finish my story."

THE END
