The Power of The Quirkless Ch 7
Don walked off into the crowd of his peers when he suddenly got approached by Todoroki "Do you have a problem with me?" Don turned and looked at him with a tired look "well the son of endeavour has only been seen to use half of his quirk this entire time so yea I do" Don looked ahead to Midnight who was telling everybody about the first event the race around the stadium. *Wait they only had me up there to flaunt off their Quirkless student didn't they oh those motherfuckers*.
Midnight explained the rules and everybody went to the entrance *Todoroki is probably going to use his ice first so I need to jump on top of someone at the start or just jump and catch up I guess* the horn blared and Don jumped correctly predicting that Todoroki used his ice *well played* he started using his blue aura thinking about his past and started to catch up to rest. "TODOROKI STARTED WITH AN ICE ATTACK FREEZING A LOT OF PEOPLE TO THE FOOR BUT SOME OF CLASS 1-A DODGED".
*Ok Bakugo and Todoroki will be the biggest problem, but never mind that* Don starts to gain speed and manages to catch up to 3rd and get to the first obstacle the robots. With Don's blue Aura he's easily able to dodge the attacks of the 1,2 and 3 pointers and continues but he stops when he sees a bunch of 0 pointers *huh so this is how they ramped up the difficulty neat*. He watches as Todoroki freezes 1 *I'm going to use the chance* he speeds behind managing to pass through before the collapse taking 2nd place overtaking Bakugo.
Don catches up to Todoroki before the 2nd obstacle "hey there ice boy can't help at see you not using your fire well like I said if you half-ass this you will lose" Don starts to gain more speed as he thinks of worse things about his past and overtakes Todoroki. Don makes it to the second obstacle, but he has enough speed to jump between the pillars almost falling off the first jump." DONAVAN KINGSTONE TAKES THE LEAD AND QUICKLY GETS PAST THE 2ND OBSTACLE CAN ANYTHING STOP HIM".
*ok let's take it back on the speed we don't want to completely outshine the snowflakes* Don slows down but still has the speed to keep his lead he runs ahead not paying attention and gets taken out by a mine launching him back and hurting his leg "Ahhh what the why was that so powerful it should not have been that dangerous" Don is holding his leg in agony but pushes himself back up. With the constant pain, it's hard for Don to activate his powers so he starts limping to the end being careful not to step on any mines but with the lead he has he crosses the finish line at 10th.
Don limps into the stadium and sits down near one of the walls "ahh fuck my leg" he looks down to see his leg has a bad gash and is bleeding "you will not ruin my chances" Don stands up and goes to Midnight "I'm still going to participate but I need to see Recovery girl" Midnight nodded and directed Don to Recovery girl. Don knocked on the door and opened it "hey it's your favourite Quirkless kid" Recovery girl sighed "ok what happened?" Don shows his leg "I just need enough to allow me to stand I will be ok" Recovery girl complies and heals him just enough to where he can stand (it took the time of the other activities) "you're the best see ya".
Don walks out and back onto the field just in time for the description of the next game the Cavalry battle *well I'm screwed for partner choice* Don just stood there to see what the groups would be when he was approached from behind "wanna team up?" Don froze and turned around to see a purple-haired boy looking at him with a smile, but Don could see through the deceit and just walked away. Don sighed "well it's to be expected who's left" Don looked around and saw Bakugo was being left alone except for Kirishima as Bakugo had the 1 million points for coming in first but he quickly got 2 more teammates in Mina and Sero.
*well crap I don't know who else* "team with me Quirkless!" a voice came from behind him which sounded cheerful and full of energy Don turned to see who it was and saw a girl with pink-haired and a bunch of support items "Who are you exactly?" the girl introduces herself as Mei Hatsume from the support course "uh well I don't see any other option so sure lets team" Mei smiles and begins looking around for more teammates.
Don puts his hand on her shoulder "I don't think that would be necessary we got this by ourselves" Mei laughs and grins ear to ear "I like your style so who's on top and who's on the bottom" Don goes red a bit from the phrasing of that question "you will on my shoulders since I can run really fast" Mei puts her hand on her chin "Ok so which baby could we use?" she pulls out some inventions Don looks at the inventions in awe "you made all of these we haven't been in school for long and you already have this much"
Mei is still searching through until she finds a pair of shoes "here use these" don looks at them to see what they do but Mei explains "they will make your kicks harder since you can run faster you will hit like a truck" Don looks at the bottom of the shoes seeing metal on them "ah I get it" Don puts the shoes on while Mei was strapping her hover boots on and a jetpack. Everyone gets into position with Don and Mei near the bottom in points.
"Ok 1 million points here we come" Mei shouts "no we will take the low scorers as to not attract any attention and if we take out enough of them we are guaranteed a spot" Mei sighs but agrees and the starting horn goes off but Don does not move "uh it started we can go" Don chuckled "we will wait for a while as since I have speed all we have to do is snatch up on of the top player's headbands".
"I thought we were going for the lower players" Don stops laughing "yea that was until I remembered a little vendetta I have seen that blonde boy with the guy that has pure white hair" Mei nods "were going to take all of his headbands near the end" the Cavalry battle goes on with Team Todoroki and team Bakugo fighting it out for most of the fight and everyone else fighting amongst each other except Mei and Don since they were at the bottom everyone ignored their headbands.
The final minute is called and don starts rushing his mind with thoughts "Mei it's time I will get you there you need to get as many as you can" she nods and ready's herself, Don gets ready and sprints off to Monoma taking him by surprise Mei grabs his highest headband "Mei get ready because I'm going to throw you" Mei looks down at Don and smiles "Do it!" Don starts flooding his head with rageful memories and throws Mei in the air, launching her past the stadium's roof.
With everyone distracted Don changed his thoughts again to some sad memory's *this is starting to get hard swapping emotions like this* went to Monama's group "quickly put up a barrier!" one of the boys on the bottom made the air in front of him solid but it was strong enough as Don's speed and his shoes make quick work of that. Monoma tapped another one of the boys and started spinning his hands to try and keep Don away from the headbands.
Don saw this and sped around Monoma jumping over him and grabbing the last of the headbands while kicking his arms backing away from Monoma's group and standing there. "You Quirkless loser!" Don smiled "your outta time" Don looks up and sees Mei floating down with the help of the boots and jetpack landing on his shoulders Don handed the headbands to Mei, she put them around her neck.
"AND THAT IS TIME EVERYONE LET'S TALLY UP THOSE RESULTS" the results were team Bakugo at 1st place team Todoroki at 2nd team Shinso at 3rd and team Hatsume 4th "SINCE THERE IS WEIRD NUMBER FOR THE FINAL ACTIVITY, WE ARE GOING TO PICK 2 NUMBERS OUT OF A HAT AND SEE WHO JOIN UP" the winner of the draw is Tokoyami and Ochaco. The brackets are shown to the kids *So I'm facing Shinso then if I'm not mistaken that's the purple-haired kid* "heh looks like we are fighting each other" Don sees Shinso and gives him a death stare which makes Shinso back off *I need to talk to his teammates from the last round*.
Don finds Ojiro in the crowd "So what is Shinso's quirk" Ojiro jumps a bit and turns "hey don't sneak up on people like that." "yea ok what's Shinso quirk" Ojiro sighs, "I tell you in the waiting room" Don and Ojiro go into the waiting room and Ojiro explains Shinso's quirk "Ok so he has brainwashing ok anything else" "when we were in the cavalry battle I nudged someone and it broke the hold on me" Don lifts the leg of his gym trousers "Sudden shock ok I can work with that" Don smiles a bit "Thanks Ojiro" Ojiro leaves quite quickly after that *oh I'm gonna annoy him so much*.
The first battle called Hitoshi Shinso Vs Donavan Kingstone the 2 teens walked out and Don bowed and the match was started but Don just stood there "So how was your day Shinso" Shinso kept a straight face "it was fine what about you *Got you dumbass* "its goi-"Don suddenly stopped talking "turn around and leave the area" Don stood there with a blank expression. Ojiro facepalmed "damn it I told him not to do that".
Don still stood in the middle of the ring to Shinso's and Ojiro's shock "I said leave the ring" Don smirked "my acting skills must be top-notch to fool you" Don starts walking towards Shinso "what no you should be under my control" Shinso was standing there looking angry when he noticed Don was limping "Oh you found my little secret didn't you" Don got to Shinso and it broke out into a fistfight where Don was controlling the whole thing punching him constantly and not letting up pushing Shinso back.
"How you're not even using that red thing" Don gut punches Shinso which made Shinso stumble out of the ring "because you are weak" Don is announced the victor to a mixed response, but don just ignored it and walked off. When he was out of view from the spectators he leaned against the wall and looked down "worth it heh" he sees his wound busted open again slightly "Hey I saw your match you were pretty great" Don looks up to see Hatsume "yea I was told his little trick so I did something I didn't need to win heh" Hatsume looks at his leg "Do you need Recovery girl or" "no I just need to bandage this up" Don gets his backpack and starts to bandage up his leg.
While he is sitting there a giant man with flames covering him rounds the corner "ah the person I was looking for" Don and Hatsume looked up in confusion "how can I help you endeavour" Endeavour smirks "oh I don't need help I'm here to warn you if you continue you will get beaten by Shoto and I don't want a death at the sports festival" Don finishes wrapping his leg and stands up to stare at Endeavour.
"Endeavour you have 5 seconds to apologise" Don is starting to build up his red aura "or what are you going to hit me, sure kid, I'm the future number 1 hero" Hatsume puts her hand on Don's shoulder "Uh Don we should go the next match is going to start soon" Don's red aura starts getting smaller and smaller until it is gone "Endeavour the next time you do that you better hope there is some here to stop me".
Don walks past Endeavour with Hatsume close behind "So your ability is tied to emotion then?" Don looks at Hatsume while they are walking to the stands "how did you know?" "Well, he was clearly angering you and started your glow thing back there so I kinda just put 2 and 2 together" Don smirked a bit and stopped "well this is my class see you after your match" Hatsume nods and runs off waving. Don walks in to see the whole class looking at him "what?" "Who was that?" Mina asked nudging his side.
Don got a bit red but kept a straight face "that was my teammate from the cavalry battle" Don walks over to the wall to the right of the class Denki looks at this and asks, "why are you not sitting down and why do you have bandages?" "My leg got injured in the 1st event and to bypass Shinso's quirk I made it hurt more so I would get snapped back and for why I'm standing here" Don starts counting down with his fingers from 5.
When he gets to 1 Monoma pokes his head over the wall where he is immediately slapped in the face by Don "that's why I have no tolerance for his crap" a couple of class members snicker at this "so are you done treating me like a villain" the group goes silent for a while and it looked like Ochaco was going to say something but gets cut off by Present Mic "OUR NEXT FIGHT SHOTO TODOROKI VS HANTA SERO".( The fight ends up the same way as the anime)
Shoto walks back up to the class and sits down "still half-assing it Shoto" the class looks at Don "I don't use my fire in battle I will never use my father's power" Don just facepalms "look Shoto I'm fighting you next and if you don't use your fire you are going to lose" Don walks away from the 1-A stand and Bakugo goes after him. Don walks into the bathroom sits down and checks his bandages while he does so Bakugo walks in and sees the bandages.
"looks a little more than what you described anyway what was that about" Don focuses on his bandages "do you know how annoying it is for me to be Quirkless and be bullied most of my childhood and I see that prick thinking he can get away with only using half of his power" Bakugo sits down beside Don "well I want to fight him at his full strength as well and it is frustrating but that just means you will show him he needs to use his fire".
Don finishes rewrapping his bandages and stands up "well let's go and see the rest of the fights" Don and Bakugo walk back to the stands and Don watches Shoto's fight "let's see what he is gonna do ice" Shoto shoots out the giant ice attack "well then that's a bit overkill" the Denki fight happens, and he loses. (Then Iida and Hatsume's fight happen the same as in the anime). Don ran down to the hall leading to the field meeting up with Hatsume "why did you quit you could have won that match" Hatsume grinned "Meh I just wanted to show off my babies to the businessmen and women up at the top".
"Well, I guess it saves you from having to fight me then" Hatsume punches Don the shoulder "I could take you on no problem" Don chuckles "sure well let's get back up to the spectator's area. The rest of the fights happen without any difference. "Ok EVERYONE WE WILL BE STARTING THE SECOND SET OF THE BRACKETS SO TODOROKI AND DONOVAN PLEASE GET READY". Don gets up and walks off going to waiting room 2.
*Ok so he most likely start with a giant ice attack* Hatsume opens the door "hey I have an idea" Don jumps "oh sorry didn't hear you come in what is it" "so have you tried combining the emotions of your blue and red powers" Don sighs "I have tried but I can't find the right balance but I think I have something that will work" "DONOVAN KINGSTONE VS SHOTO TODOROKI YOUR FIGHT IS NOW" Don gets up and walks out giving a thumbs up to Hatsume.
Don walks out and bows to Shoto "before we fight Shoto I want you to know if you don't use your fire you won't beat me" Don gets in a fighting stance "We will see" the fight starts and as expected Shoto starts with a giant ice attack *think about Midoriya and what happened to him his dreams crushed this is it* Don starts glowing with the usual red aura and punches his way through the ice but It quickly surrounds him keeping him in place "Donovan is im-" "Midnight I'm not immobilised I can move" "uh kid you in ice" Don smirks *concentrate try to harness both of them* tears start to come out of his eyes but he kept his face of rage and disdain "this fight is not over!" Don breaks out of the ice.
Don stands there with a roaring red aura with his blue aura at the base of the red aura "So Todoroki this is my power what about yours" "I will never use my father's power" Don rushes up to Todoroki's face and slapping him "If you don't fight at your strongest then you're not worth the time" Don backs up from Todoroki who is still holding his face in shock "Now Todoroki show me your fire or you can walk out of the arena it's your choice".
At that Todoroki's fireside lit up in flames "you want my max here's my max" Todoroki using both his fire and ice prepares for a massive attack "Yes this is what I was wanting! bring it on!" Don and Todoroki charge at each other while the teachers try to stop the fight. Don shouts at the top of his lungs "THIS IS THE MIGHT OF THE QUIRKLESS!" an explosion similar to the one in the anime happens.
"Can you see the students Cementos" "No I can barely see through the smoke" the giant dust cloud started to disperse, and everyone saw Todoroki outside the arena lying on ice and Don out of his aura standing panting with his feet in the ground completely shirtless revealing a big scar across his chest "TODOROKI IS KO'D DONOVAN WINS" no one was cheering or booing they were all whispering between each other. Don stands there getting his feet out of the ground and stumbling barely able to keep his balance.
Don smiles and walks to the grass and just lies down on the grass *thank got I smashed my feet into the ground or else I would not have won that* his vision goes blurry as he blinks, he can make out that 2 people were standing over him. One was really pink, and the other was kind of yellow "sleep now" and don falls in and out of consciousness hearing "oh god his arm!" and "is he going to be, ok?" but one he heard loud and clear "I can't lose another friend!".
Don flutters his eyes and manages to open them seeing that he is still in the arena on the grass with his shirt back on "what the hell?" he notices that Midoriya standing in the middle in a well-tailored suit holding Bakugo by the neck with blood on his hands. "You see Kachan you were right I couldn't be a hero, so I became a villain and I strive to be the best villain there is" he throws Bakugo across the arena. Don runs up and shouts "What are you doing Midoriya!" Midoriya turned his head, and all Don saw was a crooked smile "and who's this did Kachan make a friend" Don walks over to Midoriya with a worried look on his face.
"Midoriya why you could have still been a hero he has changed from those days" Midoriya started cackling like a mad man "Really you think he can change" Don clenched his fist until it was white "I know so and if you don't let go of him, I will make you!". Midoriya drops Bakugo and kicks him off the stage "I was only here for him, but I guess you will do as well" Midoriya stands there and starts glowing a bright green.
In response, Don starts glowing red "I'm Quirkless just like you so why can't we talk this out?" "Because you are friends with that monster over there and what's even worse is that you're blind by your classmate's one bad thing and they turn on you!" *Ok so he has all of the memory's I guess* "If I have to knock some sense into that thick skull of yours I will" after that Midoriya and Don rushed at each other clashing fists.
Authors Note:
Var made it to the finale as well he placed 6th in the race and was a part of Shinzo's team in the cavalry battle but did not give up his spot like the other 3 people. He replaces Denki in this situation.
