The Power of The Quirkless Ch 8
Don and Midoriya start fighting with punches and kicks each trying to get an opening, but neither could do it they both jump away from each other "So you have improved Donovan well so have I" Midoriya's aura starts getting darker and darker until it was a deep dark green. Don stood there watching this happen *I'm going to have to use my combined power* Don starts to channel both red and blue auras in response "let's see if you can handle this" Don and Midoriya run at each other, but Midoriya is much faster than Don.
Don starts to get pummelled by Midoriya getting attacked from all sides before finally getting kicked in the head being flung to the opposite side of the arena "What you are doing down there I thought you were going to knock some sense into my head?" Midoriya starts walking to Don while don is getting to his knees "Midoriya stop this, and we can get you help" Midoriya grabs Don by his neck and lifts him off the ground "Please stop Izuku" Don sheds a tear and his aura fades.
"You lost the chance to call me that" Midoriya then thrusts his arm through Don's chest. Do shoots up from the bed he is on gasps for air and holds his chest where Izuku had his arm though. By doing this scares Mei Hatsume "Jesus" Recovery girl looks at Mei with tired eyes "you get used to it kid" Recovery girl walks over to don "lie down I have some bad news" Don looks at recovery girl concerned.
"What happened?" Recovery girl sighs "your right arm has 2nd degree burns up to your arm I was able to stop it from hurting you but that's all" Don looks at his arm and sees his arm a darker colour than usual with blisters on his arm. He sits up from the bed "well that is not going to stop me" Mei gets up and stops don from standing "yea no you need to rest" Don smiles "no I don't I need to show that I can take this it just means I'm down an arm" he looks to his injured leg "and a leg" he smiles.
Recovery girl sighs "Donovan I'm going to put this simply your arm is heavily damaged as well as your leg, I have already used my quirk on you twice a third will put you to sleep so if you get injured again you are out" Don's smile fades "yea I know but I have to prove that I am worth something" Don stands up gets up and puts on a new shirt "Oh and Don you're going to have to tell me what that is later" Mei points to his chest.
Don nods and leaves to go to the spectator stands he walks out seeing that the current match is Var vs Iida. As he walked in, he got surrounded by Ochaco, Denki and Momo "are you ok?" "That was awesome but are you ok" "is your arm alright?" Don smiled "I am fine, I know it was and my arm got burned but nothing too bad" the group of three still looked worried look. Don spotted Todoroki sitting in the front row of the stands, so he walked over and sat beside him "that was a close match huh" Todoroki looks to Don with a stoic face "why did you do that?" "Do what?" "You made me use my fire why?" Don looked at him with a grin "because you need to learn that your past does not define who you are now, believe me, I know that more than anyone."
Don got up, walked away from Todoroki, and saw Bakugo looking at him angrily "hey Bakugo what's u-" Bakugo hugs him for a second "I'm glad you're ok" Bakugo walked back to Kirishima and sat down *weird well I need to prepare for my next match who is against* "VAR WINS" *great him*. Over the next couple of matches which end up the same as the anime. Don is sitting in the waiting room waiting for his fight *Ok I have been dealing with this kid all my life and I have been able to watch his fighting style I just need to be faster than him*.
"DONOVAN KINGSTONE AND VAR WATU YOUR FIGHT IS NOW" Don gets up and leaves the room seeing Endeavour in the hallway in which he proceeds to point and laugh at him while walking away "WHAT ARE YOU LAUGHING AT," Don through his laugher says "at someone who overestimated me" Endeavour walks away angry and Don enters the arena "well I know you have been waiting for a day to beat me up without consequence Var".
Var narrows his eyes and gets in his fighting stance "oh no words this time ok" Don gets in his stance as well "Begin!" Don charges up his blue power and rushes Var punching him with his right arm in the chest var in response grabs Don's arm and proceeds to try and trap Don in stone. The stone starts to grab his foot but with the blue aura he can slip his foot out before it fully got Don's foot, Don then kicks Var in the chin realising his grip on Don's arm and Don backs up holding his wrist.
*Damn I forgot for a moment about that I should attack with my left arm* Var recovers from the kick and starts shooting rocks out of the ground at Don. Don tries to dodge but he gets hit several times in his injured arm and leg which makes him lose focus on his blue aura *damn it this is bad* the rocks that hit Don lying at his feet start moving to Don's feet "So Don why are you still fighting? I mean you're clearly injured and you're down a leg and an arm" Don grits his teeth and looks at Var "because I want to prove that I am not useless and that starts with you!" Don tries to move but finds that he can't seeing that his feet are covered in rock *your clever dick* Don stands there and looks at Var with defeat in his eyes.
"Well, it looks like I win" the rock starts to cover the rest of Don's body he closes his eyes waiting for the fight to end. "Don't give up that's not the hero way!" Don opened his eye's hearing a little kid from behind and then more and more people started cheering. Don started to smile, and his red aura started to grow but it was a bit lighter colour closer to pink than red and he smashes out of the rock that had climbed to his neck. Var got increasingly agitated at Don started throwing rocks and the ground around them.
Don with his roaring red aura walks towards Var punching every rock that was thrown and practically flattening the floor with the slams of his feet "this is why I didn't give up the people" Don shouts and runs to Var punching him Var does manage to successfully block but the force of the punch made him skid across the ground going from the middle of the arena to the edge of the arena "now face the wrath of the Quirkless".
Don closes the gap between the 2 and feints a punch but really kicks him in the stomach sending him out of the ring "VAR IS SENT OUT OF BOUNDS DON WINS" Don powers down from his state "good fight" Don walks away when he was out of eyesight he held his leg and arm in pain *my god how can people hide that for so long*. Mei runs down the hall to see Don holding his arm and leg "are you sure you want to go through with this you're probably up against Bakugo."
Don smiles and stands up straight still holding his arm "Oh I am ready" Don walks back up to the stands to watch Bakugo fight Tokoyami. Ochaco sits beside Don and asks, "are you sure you want to continue with your injuries?" Don looked at Ochaco with a grin "Yea of course what kind of hero would I be if I gave up and besides, I think I can take him, but it will be really close depending on a couple of things."
Denki jumps over the seats and sits beside Don on the other side "and what would that be?" Don turned back to the fight "well I have never actually felt the power of his quirk so it's a toss-up what will happen first I get launched or I get in close" "BAKUGO WINS TOKOYAMI SURRENDERS." "Well, that's my cue I need to go prepare myself wish me luck" Don walked away to the waiting room, and he sat there just waiting for the announcement for his next match.
*I got this I should be able to do this I mean I have made it this far I just need to push myself a little farther and I win* "DONOVAN KINGSTONE AND KATSUKI BAKUGO ITS TIME FOR THE FINALS" *why is he always so loud* Don gets up and walks out into the arena "So the finals don't go easy on me" Bakugo smiles "wasn't planning on it" "Begin!" Don stands there waiting for Bakugo with his hands up and ready.
Bakugo on the other hand wastes no time and rushes in with the usual big right hook which was blocked by Donovan he smiles "too obvious" Don punches Bakugo in the stomach and pushes him back "Come on you can't be that obvious" Bakugo gritted his teeth and ran in again this time rushes past Don with his explosions and kicks him in his injured leg making Don fall to one knee *well at least he isn't taking it easy*.
Don attempts to get to his feet but Bakugo is making sure that he does not get back up with light explosions *ok time to take him seriously* Don channels his red aura and starts to ignore the explosions "you gotta do better than that Bakugo" he begins to walk to him and through the explosions. Bakugo gets up close and uses the attack he used against Ochaco and fired a giant explosion right into the chest of Don.
Don takes the explosion full force in the chest and gets flung back to the edge of the arena a giant cloud of smoke surrounds the arena with Midnight trying to find out the condition of the students the smoke eventually clears and Bakugo is standing gasping heavily holding his arm and barely standing "did I get him?" the smoke cleared and everyone saw Don on the ground with his eye's closed "DONOVAN" before Midnight can finish Don gasped for air and started getting up "Nah Nah Nah we are not done here" he stood up shirtless once again showing off his chest scar "Donovan are you ok to compete?".
Don standing up holding his chest with his injured arm "yea I'm good to go" Midnight against her better judgement allows the fight to continue. Don starts running to Bakugo and Bakugo does the same, but each has exhausted their abilities to where Don can't activate his aura consistently and Bakugo can't use those powerful explosions and it devolves into a fistfight with the occasional explosion and red glow.
Don starts to get his second wind and gets back into the fighting getting faster and faster the same thing happens to Bakugo and suddenly the red aura covers Don's fist and Bakugo uses an explosion that propels his fist. Now the pair are fighting on equal footing, but Bakugo runs out of stamina first and Don gets a clean punch to the gut in which Don puts all his force into it sending Bakugo back skidding across the ground and just outside the arena.
Everyone was silent in the arena everyone was processing what just happened then from the sound system "I CAN'T BELIEVE IT DONOVAN WINS SENDING BAKUGO OUT OF THE ARENA" Don heard this and looked around with a fuzzy vision he looked confused and then the stadium erupted in cheers and clapping. He smiles and stumbles to Bakugo putting out a hand Bakugo looked up and took the hand where the pair start walking to the doctor's office.
Don and Bakugo enter the office and get their healing to where they are ok and able to walk. "Well, it still hurts but like you said if I got a proper go I would be asleep, so I don't mind" Recovery girl just nods and heals Bakugo who is as good as new but really tired. The two sit and recover as best as they can until they are asked to come to the award ceremony, they both walk out there and then Allmight came down and handed out the awards Tokoyami and Var got bronze Bakugo got silver and Don got gold. Allmight leaned in and asked, "I need to talk to you after this meet me in my office" Don looked confused but nodded. After the ceremony, Don looked at his medal and pulled out his phone.
Quirkless: You see the festival.
Deku: Oh, you bet I did I am surprised you made it to the end.
Quirkless: that Todoroki kid would have taken me out or if Bakugo had better aim.
Deku: yes, how did you survive that blast.
Quirkless: most of the blast missed me but I did take a hefty amount to the chest.
Deku: well anyway what are you going to do now?
Quirkless: well, Allmight wants to talk to me in his office.
Deku: all right ttyl
Don put away his phone to see Bakugo standing in front of him staring at him, "Hey what's up?" Bakugo scoffs "you need to be more careful" Bakugo pulled out his phone. Don got the message and nodded "I need to see Allmight but meet me in my dorm tonight" Don walked past and headed to Allmight's office. Don gets to the office knocks on the door "Sir are you in there" "Yes come on in!" Don opens the door and sits down in front of allmight "So sir what do you need?"
Allmight sits there and sighs "Young Donovan I have something to ask of you" he stands up and paces around the room "With your display at the sports festival you have shown me that you have what it takes to be a hero" Don fiddles with his pocket turning on the recording feature on his phone. "So, I ask you Donovan Kingstone do you want to be my protégé?" Allmight has his face in a big smile.
Don stone-faced asks "what would I gain from becoming your protégé?" Allmight sits down opposite Donovan "you will get my quirk and personal training from me" Don looked at almighty confused "your quirk?" Allmight continues to explain the in's and out of One for all which leave Donovan looking at the ground emotionless "Izuku Midoriya" Allmight reacts to the name "what?" "Izuku Midoriya does that name ring any bells" Donovan looks back at Allmight with a hint of anger.
Allmight studders "I uh well yes it does" Allmight sighs, "You told a kid that was just attacked by a villain that he could not be a hero just because he was Quirkless!" Donovan stood up "You were his hero but that does not matter anymore because he's a villain so no I will not take your power and don't worry I won't tell anyone your secret." Don storms out of the room and back to his dorm. Allmight had sat there in shock and sadness after what he heard he eventually pulled out his phone and called Nezu "Sir Donovan Kingstone knows I thought he would have wanted to take the quirk, but I was mistaken."
Don was sitting in his dorm room sitting on his phone until he heard a knock on his door he got up and opened it "finally I was waiting forever" he saw Bakugo standing outside his room "what do you want?" "We're going out to get supplies again for the class" Don dragged Bakugo into the room "here take this" he hands him the mask from before with a bit of a modification "it has a voice modification device on it so you can talk without being noticed" Bakugo puts the mask in a backpack and walks out of the dorm with Don.
"So same place Don?" Don smirks "yep" he texts Izuku saying that he is going to make an appearance and continues to walk. They arrive outside the LOV hideout "all right put on your mask" Bakugo puts on his mask and Don puts on his outfit. Don positions himself in front of the door and looks at Bakugo "ready?" Bakugo nods so Don kicks the door down the same way he did before "sup fuckers I'm back" Shigiraki looks at Don angrily "We just had that fixed god damn it!" Don chuckles a bit.
Toga appears out of nowhere and jumps in front of Don "hello Mr Quirkless nice to see you again" "nice to see you again Toga, was it?" Toga blushes. Don notices Dabi in the corner "what's up pyro?" Dabi waves "I'm going to let that one slide because of Stain" Don looks at Shigiraki "so where's Deku?" Shigiraki replies in his raspy voice "why should I tell you?" Don sighs "Kurogiri where is Deku?" Kurogiri is shocked "how do you know my name" "Deku" Kurogiri nods as best as a shadow man can and directs him to the room "Thanks Come on hot head" Bakugo walks in after Don and moves to avoid the others.
The pair stand outside Deku's room and Don knocks on the door "who's there" Don replies, "who do you think" Midoriya opens his door and greets Don "uh Quirkless who's this" Don shrugs "sidekick call him hot head" Deku looks at Bakugo suspicious "ok fine come on in let's talk."
