The Power of The Quirkless Ch 9
Don, Midoriya and Bakugo (in disguise) are standing in Midoriya's room in the LOV base Don leans on the door while Bakugo sits in a chair, Don takes off his mask "So what did you think about the sports festival" Midoriya sat on his bed and rubbed his chin muttering to himself "Yo Midoriya earth to Midoriya!" Izuku shot up "sorry old habit anyway after watching the festival it looks like the Todoroki kid has some reservations about his dad, the fact he is the number 2 hero maybe we can use that."
Don shakes his head "I'm not so sure he is hell-bent on being better than his dad maybe if we show him the problems in-hero society but it's a long shot" Bakugo spoke up with the voice changer activating "what about that explosion kid Katsuki I think his name was" Midoriya stood up from his bed and looked at Don with slight anger "he does not know does he?" Don shakes his head "well then let's educate him" Midoriya turns to Bakugo and explains the torture that Bakugo had subjected him to as well as getting his dreams crushed by Allmight on a rooftop where he left him alone.
"Allmight left me on a roof by myself after he crushed my dreams as well as what I thought to be my childhood friend told me to take a swan dive off the roof" Bakugo could only sit there in shock as hears why Midoriya hates him so much "Hothead wait outside and don't talk to Shigiraki I don't trust him" Bakugo nodded and left. After a couple of seconds, Don started laughing and sits where Bakugo was. "what's so funny?" Don calmed himself down "you will find out in time anyway here is a list of people who might be interested in joining. Midoriya looked at the list and saw the names.
Hitoshi Shinso
Ochaco Uraraka
Denki Kaminari
"So, what makes you think they would be interested?" Don leans back in the chair "Ochaco is trying to become a hero to help the financial issue of her family so offering her money for work should work if it isn't inherently bad and Denki is constantly called an idiot by his peers even though he is smart this must be putting a strain on his mental health." Midoriya nods "Ok what about Shinso?" "Well, he will be a bit harder to convince but with time I think I can befriend him and show him how I was treated in-hero society."
Midoriya snaps his fingers "oh right I was meant to tell you Stain came by here and had a meeting with the boss and it seems we have come to an agreement where if we ask for help he can determine if he is needed to take them down." Don nods "there is something I need to talk to you about" Midoriya looks at him with a big grin on his face "what is it?" "if I didn't tell you to not show up at the sports festival would you have shown up?" Midoriya nods "yes I would have" *well that is either a freaky coincidence or something is not right* "ok that's all well I best be on my way then".
Don puts on his mask and walks out to see Bakugo backing away from toga who has a knife "Come on let me cut you just a bit" Izuku calls out to Toga "what are you doing" Toga turns with a giant smile on her face "getting blood from our guest" Izuku face palms and cuts his finger on a knife which got Toga's attention "come on" toga rushes up to Izuku and drags him into his room. Don walks down and motions for Bakugo to follow him.
They both walk outside and climb on top of a building Don calmly changes out of his outfit but Bakugo is taking off his mask and staring blankly at the floor "So you finally got your reason huh" Don said as he was changing "I never knew I did so much" Bakugo's eyes tear up "Hey what's done is done the only thing you can do is learn from your mistake and apologise but I'm not sure when you will get that chance".
Bakugo griped the mask tight and looked at Don and Don sighed "look Bakugo I know it was painful to hear all of that but maybe in the future you can mend the relationship" Don walks over and hugs Bakugo "now we should probably go get the food for the class" Bakugo nods and wipes his eyes. The pair shop for food and return to the dorm rooms where Denki walks to Don "hey dude where did you go?" Don holds up the bags of food "shopping" Denki smiling "oh should have guessed" Don shrugs "it's alright anyway want to help me put this away".
Denki takes a bag "sure why not" both Denki and Don walk to Don's dorm, and they put away the food "thanks Denki for the help" Denki walks out "No problem dude" Don walks out after Denki to the common area and sits down "Today was something else" he sees Ochaco, Jiro and Aoyama sitting around him staring "what?" Aoyama speaks up "Well it's the first time someone like you has won the sports festival".
Don smiles "yea it's cool but I was seriously outclassed in some matches it was pure luck" Ochaco raises her voice "don't say that luck had nothing to do with it" she quickly covers her mouth with both hands activating her quirk causing her to float. "Well, I only won against Todoroki because I slammed my feet into the ground before impact and I won against Var because of that kid that cheered me on".
Jiro sighs "I think what Ochaco was trying to say was you should be proud of what you did today it's not often a Quirkless kid beats up some of the most promising students" Don nodded "thanks you guys that really helped" Don walks off towards his dorm, Ochaco releases her quirk and sits back down "what does he mean by that?" Aoyama shrugs "I'm not sure" Don walks to his dorm and lies on his bed falling asleep.
Don wakes up the next day not having any weird dreams and gets ready for class and arrives 10 mins earlier than usual, he sees Aizawa sitting there in his sleeping bag "Mr Aizawa are you awake" Aizawa opens his eyes "I am now what do you need" "I think we should add Shinso to our class since we only have 19 due to Midoriya Aizawa gets out of his sleeping bag and sits at his desk "I'll think about it" Don walked to his seat and pulled out his phone noticing there is a new message from an unknown number.
Unknown: Is this Donovan Kingstone.
Don: yea who is this?
Unknown: It's me Mei Hatsume.
Don: oh, yea I remember you who gave you this number?
Mei: a kid named Bakugo anyway can you meet me at lunch?
Don: Sure, ttyl my class is starting.
Mei: ok ttyl.
Everyone started to funnel in, and class started with an announcement Aizawa stood up "Ok before we start today, we have a new student come on in" Shinso walked into the class "introduce yourself please" Shinso cleared his throat "Hitoshi Shinso my quirk is Brainwash" Shinso walks to the only empty seat beside Don. Don had a smile on his face and said, "Hey sorry about getting intense at the sports festival sometimes I get carried away during a fight".
Shinso rolls his eyes "look I'm not here to make friends" Don smirks "well I can always help you train your hand to hand skills because you are essentially like me" Shinso looks at him confused "if your opponent does not reply to you you're practically Quirkless" Shinso looked annoyed but after thinking about it he agreed with the statement "I guess you are right" Don replied, "well I can train you in hand to hand combat maybe Aizawa can help speed up the process".
Aizawa raised his voice "Ok now we would have saved this for your second year but the principal has pushed forward the opportunity to do internships so to do that you first need to come up with hero names and since I am not suited for this I called another teacher to help" Midnight bursts through the door "I am going to help with your hero names so each of you takes one of these and write down what you want your hero name to be".
Don was the first person up and he wrote down The Quirkless Hero: Hope Midnight looked at the name "why hope?" Don smiled "because I want to give Quirkless people the push they need to try and achieve their dreams regardless of what others say" Midnight nodded and Shinso went next, and he put up the name Brainwave Which midnight loved everyone else went up and chose their names except Bakugo.
After picking their names Don left to go get lunch and find Mei *ugh where is she* Don sits down in the corner away from everyone and starts eating his food when Mei appears beside him "HELLO!" Don jumps up from his seat "how did you?" She shows a button and presses it turning herself invisible. Don smiles "clever" Don sits back down "so what did you want to talk about" Mei starts eating "2 things actually 1st I wanted to know if you would like to help in experiments?" *I guess this is my in for good equipment* "I don't see a problem with that so what's the 2nd thing".
Mei pokes at Don's chest "you said you would tell me about that" Don looked down at his chest "ahh yea that well if you don't mind I would rather go somewhere a little more private" Mei looked a little concerned "I have this gadget that can give us total privacy" she pulls out a small black cube and puts it on the table turning it on it gets larger creating a dome over them that has 1 sided glass where they could see out but others can't see in. "is this soundproof" Mei nods "Ok well I guess I can tell you now"
Flashback (1 year ago)
Don is sitting on top of a building in his vigilante outfit eating a sandwich when he heard a massive explosion near him *ahh shit that's not good* Don puts on his mask and runs to the scene he sees a man with white hair standing there with a couple of goons *ok so the guy in the white hair looks to be the leader so I should try to take him out first* Don climbs down to a nearby alleyway waiting for the guy to walk past.
"BOSS SAYS WE NEED THESE 2" the man with white hair passes by, Don reaches out grabbing him into the alleyway and throwing him further down. "oh look a hero" Don gets in his fighting stance "wrong" Don rushes the man *he seems to want to grab me can't let that happen* Don keeps the man's hands away punching his forearms but that only lasted for so long. Don had the man on the ropes he kept landing hits and he was about to knock him out with a kick to the head but the man ducked last second and placed his hand on his chest slamming him into the ground.
Don got winded by the attack and could feel a sharp pain in the chest seeing that the man has his hand on dons chest and the material, as well as his skin, started to unravel itself he quickly kicked the man and stood up holding his chest "what did you do to me" the man smiled "answer me!" Don rushed forward to attack but missed his punch the man grabbed his chest again further damaging it, Don broke away from his grasp and back up towards the street.
Don hears heroes in the distance and he turns and runs away looking behind every couple of seconds seeing that the man gave chase but was not fast enough to catch Don. Don made it out into the street and the man backed off running in the other direction *who was that guy*.
End of flashback
Don is looking at his food while Mei is looking at Don concerned "so you're the Quirkless then" Don nods "Don't worry I won't tell anyone does anyone else know" "Katsuki Bakugo that's all though" Mei presses the button on the device closing the dome "well if you need anything just send me a text" Don nods and continues to eat. Ochaco walks over to Don "hey Don I just wanted to apologies for how I treated you over the last couple of weeks" Don looked up with a cheerful smile "It's fine I'm used to that kind of stuff but thanks" Ochaco sits with Don and the finish their food.
"So are you, Denki and Bakugo the only people that will talk to me?" Ochaco thinks for a second "Jiro and Aoyama seem to not mind you but I'm not sure if anyone else" "well that is unfortunate anyway how are you" Ochaco talked about her day and her family problems "well that money situation is something" Don looks at Ochaco thinking "what would you do if you could help your family?" Ochaco replies "anything".
The bell rings before anything else is said "well we should get to class" Don gets up and with Ochaco and they walk back to class everyone sits down and Aizawa stands up "ok so now you all have your names we will start handing out your internships here are the totals: Don with 3,976, Shoto with 3,232 and Bakugo with 3,006 (the rest are the same from the anime) Aizawa handed out the forms to everyone "ok now you have 3 days to hand in your forms now you're all dismissed" the class got up and packed away all their stuff.
Don waited until everyone had left the room and walked up to Aizawa "Sir I don't want to take part in the internships" Aizawa looked up curious "Oh and why not" "because at this point so close to the sports festival it feels like they want me to boost their own agency in popularity" Aizawa takes the form from Don "well I can't force you but you know it will make it a lot harder later down the road" Don nods and leaves the room.
Don searches for Shinso and after 10 mins he finds him in Midoriya's old dorm room "looks like you found your dorm room" Shinso looks back "yea I just finished unpacking so what do you want?" Don smirked "training" Don holds his injured arm. Shinso walks to Don "are you sure you can train with your arm like that" "yea i-" Shinso activated his quirk "why do you want to train with me" Don replies "because I see potential in your abilities" Don shakes his head "you know it won't work while I'm too injured" Shinso sighs "yes I know I just wanted to check" the 2 boys went to a training area for a couple of hours where Don was able to easily best Shinso and Shinso showed potential in his fighting.

So only 3 people know Don's secret of being the Quirkless vigilante and I have had him sit out the internships because he is still injured from the sports festival as well as his trust issues.
