Love Or Hatred

I think you can kind of guess what this chapter is going to be about without reading the authors notes! Yes, this chapter will be mainly focused on Alex and Siax, along with the jealous Keith who we will see at some point in this chapter! As we know so far, we have seen the flashbacks, we have seen the hurt and pain that our friends are feeling! But what if the enemy is listening to every little detail? Why don't we find out together eh? Let's get to it!

In Marmoset Territory…

In the territory not too far away from the assassins guild, Keith was in a part of the jungle currently explaining his plan to some of the thugs. All of them were a little unsure about his intentions, but they did listen to him at the very least.

"Keith…what you are asking us to do…goes against our master's orders? You do realise he could kill you for this?" A male marmoset spoke up to the muscular barn owl, who stood on opposite sides of a rock, near the jail cell that Rose, Jaime, Lexi and Princess Jamison were trapped in.

"I'm not looking for your opinion Alonso! Your master was murdered in cold blood by the assassin that was murdered eight months ago! He's already got his revenge and is now looking for the cube! I however joined for one reason and one reason only! To get Siax back and kill Alex!" Keith remarked as he bashed his wing on the rock, making him incredibly annoyed.

"But sir? Going against what Felix taught us? Surely he's going to find out where we are going?" A scarlet macaw piped up as he rose his left wing.

"Oh please! He's probably too busy with his new slut toy Rose, to even wonder about our whereabouts! All I want for us to do is go to the last place that we haven't checked yet! The Maracanã stadium! It has to be where they are!"

"Okay, so let's say we do find him, and you kill him, and you take Siax with you? Aren't you afraid of how Felix will react?"

"Of course not! I'm not afraid of him! If anything, he should be afraid of me! After all…I am the only one he can turn to! I think Thomas is still keen on being with Lexi! He hasn't got the guts to go against his orders!" Keith remarked as he tightened the grip on his spear.

"So…what's the plan?" A military macaw spoke up as he got himself prepared for action.

Keith smiled maliciously at the group of birds and marmosets standing in front of him, and he only said one thing to state his plan.

"We are going to the Maracanã! You guys will stand guard! I will go in alone, and kill Alex! Before taking Siax as my mate…by force!"

Back To The Maracanã…

Alex was currently stationed in one of the vip boxes on the top of the stadium. This is the place where famous celebrities and retired footballers would sit to watch the matches as they played. Might of even had legends such as Ronaldinho or someone like Carlos Saldanha? (See what I did there? I had to put something like that in eventually right? XD)

Anyway…He was completely in his own thoughts as he admired the beautiful sunset.

He narrowed his eyes perfectly to get a good glimpse of the beautiful orange sun lowering down into the ocean setting of clouds. Making the sky light up with an extremely beautiful glow.

"Wow…if RDJ was here…he'd describe it like the beautiful array of Lila's eyes?" Alex thought to himself as he sighed in happiness, leaning up against the wall. "God I hope he's ok? I think he might have survived?"

"You keep saying that? But it still doesn't sound like it's possible?" The snowy owl male looked behind him, and he softened his expression to a wide smile. As he glanced at his beautiful wife. "Hey sweetie, are you alright?"

"Yeah! More alright now that you are here! Come, enjoy the sunset with me!" Alex beamed as he opened his wing, and allowed the burrowing owl female to perch on the seat next to him.

"Oooh, how romantic! You my love, have clearly not lost your will to surprise!"

"Well, maybe it's because I'm so blinded by my own love for you, that nothing else matters! Well…except for our friends…I mean…family!" Alex replied as he noticed out of the corner of his eye, Lexi and Jaime cuddled up together on top of the commentators box. "You know? Lexi looks so more…relaxed with Jaime? With Malcom it was more intense! Not that we don't miss him of course?"

"Yeah, I noticed that too! Every time I see Lexi now she has this big smile on her beak! I don't think I haven't seen her upset since the day the samba club got destroyed!" Siax remarked as she leaned back against the wall.

Only A Few Feet Above Them…

Keith luckily managed to sneak into the stadium, with a few of his guards just standing as lookouts.

He landed on top of one of the advertisement boards with his spear in his wing. He had a pretty good view of the owl couple. And he didn't want to attack them just yet…because he wanted to observe his prey…before unleashing his predator instincts.

"Hmmm…maybe I should listen to what they are saying? Maybe it could be of help to me!" Keith thought to himself as he relaxed just above them, staying in the shadows.

Back To Our Beloved Owl Couple…

"So what do you think is going to happen?" Siax asked her husband sweetly, as they finally saw the sun disappear into the depths of the crystal white clouds.

"With?" Alex replied a little curiously, as he tilted his head to the side.

"About Keith? Do you think he is actually going to kill you?"

"I…I think he would! But I don't know why? Is it because he is still in love with you? Or is it because he hates me?" Alex responded as he relaxed into her fluffy chest feathers.

Keith got a little more intrigued with this conversation, and decided to descend to a lower advertisement board, so he could really hear this conversation.

"I don't know…but…he wasn't always like this…" The burrowing owl female sighed sadly, as a few tears started to stream down her cheeks.

"What do you mean he wasn't always like that? He tried to rape you back in Cairo? He tried to kill me and broke my nunchucks! He could have ended me if we hadn't of escaped?"

"I know! I…I know…ahhhhh…Can I be honest with you? About something?" Siax decided to get something off of her chest, and got herself into a comfortable position before telling him.

"Sure? What's going on inside that beautiful little mind of yours? Apart from thinking about what to do with that whip to me?" Alex cheekily remarked while winking at her.

"Oh…shut up will you? Hehehe!" Siax giggled and gave him a little playful shove.

"Oh brother!" The barn owl male rolled his eyes at this comment, and just got himself into a more comfy sitting position.

Siax took a slow deep breath in and then out. She looked Alex deep into his eyes, and she gave him a nervous smile.

"At one point in my life…I…actually had…feelings, for him?" She started off quite strongly, making Alex, and even Keith go wide eyed.

"What?!" Alex was shocked by this comment.

"What?!" Keith whispered in a surprised tone, and decided to lean in a little closer to hear.

"When we were kids…we used to play hide and seek, tag, and even Rock Paper Scissors in the garden! He was so charming, and sweet, caring, loving!"

"Yeah I get the picture!" Alex interrupted her slightly irritated, and rolled his eyes.

"Anyway! At one point I did have loving feelings for him!"

Keith relaxed more in his position, and he placed a wing on his heart. Feeling a few tears emerge from his eyes.

"So…what did you do?" Her husband asked, still a little shocked by this brand new information.

"After a while, I became more attached to him, and we became inseparable! But…" Siax paused after her sentence and lowered her gaze to the floor.

"But?"

"We ended up becoming so close…that…I didn't want to risk the friendship that we had? He was like…a brother to me! And I realised…that these feelings that I had…were only the feelings of loving him as a brother! Because I always wanted a brother!" Siax finished explaining and lowered her head down to face Alex. Who was completely speechless after what he had just been told.

"Siax…saw me…as…a brother?" Keith asked himself in a low tone, and started to feel a really heavy pain hit his heart.

But it wasn't the pain of sadness…anger…rage…in fact. It was something that he had never felt in a very long long time! He felt…guilty!

"Oh my god! What have I…What have I done?! I…I have to fix this!" Keith said to himself, as he was trying to think of the perfect idea to try and approach her.

Alex still sat there with that sane strange look on his face. He was completely in surprise!

"Oh wow…so…he wasn't always a deranged psycho?"

"Nope…he wasn't back then…but why he is now? I will never know! I just don't want him to take you away from me! Because I love you so much with all of my heart! You are the best thing that has ever happened to me…and I don't want Keith to take you away…"

"Don't worry…I won't!" A new voice emerged from behind Alex and Siax on top of the executive box.

Alex immediately recognised this voice and shot up to the ground, as he jumped in front of his wife and stood strong in front of him trying to protect her!

"Well well well…is it isn't…" The snowy owl male was about to say, when staring at the muscular barn owl who immediately interrupted their moment. Holding a giant spear in his left wing.

"Keith…yeah…it's me!" Keith remarked with a warm smile. But then another strange thing happened.

He dropped his spear on the floor, and he kicked it away towards Alex and Siax. Making both of them just look at him in a very weird manner.

"Okay…Okay…Listen to me! I don't want any trouble! Honest to samba!" Keith got down on both knees with his wings raised up while giving them a sincere look.

At first, Alex thought that this was some kind of trick to distract them…but when he dropped the spear on the floor and surrendered, it does seem possible that he is being completely truthful to them.

"Question! Why now? Why have you decided you don't want any trouble now?" The snowy owl male asked, as he softened his grip on Siax and let his wings fall back to his sides.

"Keith?" Siax softly asked with a raised eyebrow, while being too scared to approach him.

"Listen guys…ahhhhhh…I thought that…I was only attacking you because I thought that Alex stole Siax away from me! And I hated you…SO much! That I wanted to ram my spear right up your…"

"Okay, not exactly defending your case here?" Alex remarked as he took a step closer to him.

"Right! Sorry! But listen…I came here…to kill you and to steal Siax back! But after everything that you just said Siax. About you seeing me as a brother…as family…It made me realise that…there is nothing I can do! Because what's the point of being in love with someone, who doesn't love you back? You two…were made for each other! I now realise that I made a terrible mistake joining Felix! But let's be clear! The only reason why I joined him…was so that I could kill you!"

"So I take it you changed your mind?" Alex asked as he took another step towards him.

"Yeah…because…I already lost my best friend once…and I don't want to lose my sister forever! Because I do love you Siax! But I now know that if I want to keep you close in my life…I should care for you as a sister…and Alex…as my brother!" Keith smiled as he slowly stood up onto his talons.

Alex stopped in his tracks and looked at the face that Keith used towards him. He instantly noticed a difference…he could tell that Keith was being truthful.

"Thank you guys did not killing me before I explained myself to you! And so…I'm gonna help you take down Felix…with this!" Keith went into his holster, and pulls out something that only Alex had seen once before. "You know what this is?"

"Some sort of…Medallion?" Siax asked as she glanced at the object.

"Not just that honey! It's the same one that RDJ wore! It's what his dad gave him when he was a chick! How did you get that?"

"See, can you guys now believe that I'm on your side? Because I don't want to see Felix and his men killing either of you now!" Keith beamed happily as he went to give his childhood friend a hug.

Siax was thinking about it, but she turned to face Alex before he approached.

"It's okay!" Alex smiled back while rubbing her head feathers.

The burrowing owl female felt a little overwhelmed, and she hugged her childhood friend tightly. And the two of them just sighed in happiness and warmth as they enjoyed this friendly gesture.

"I'm sorry for everything that I did to you guys! I am really sorry!" Keith apologised again as he departed from the hug.

"It's okay…I'm just glad that you finally see the light! I was afraid that you'd fully turn to evil!" Siax responded as she let go of him.

"Well…thanks to you guys I'm gonna be fighting with you! So Alex? You up for one too before I change my mind?" Keith now smiled at the snowy owl male, who was a little hesitant at first, but his wife reassured him.

"It's okay sweetie! He's not gonna kill you! Will you?"

"Of course not! Now come here!" Keith beamed as he tightly hugged him in a man hug. Causing Alex to widen his eyes in surprise. But after a few seconds he did chuckle and hug him back.

This little scene caused Siax to smile happily, as she finally got her childhood friend back. But what was going to happen now, was going to shock her.

Suddenly, Jameson came out of nowhere and tackled Keith to the ground, knocking him away from Alex and he pinned him down with his baseball bat.

"YOU! YOU GOT SOME NERVE COMING HERE!" The black owl screeched as he choked him with his extendable baseball bat.

"NO! ACKKKKK! SSSSTOP!" Keith panted as he tried to push him off. But where Jameson had gained a lot of muscle, he was able to keep his grip on him.

"Don't worry guys! I'll deal with him!" Jameson beamed as he tightened his grip.

"NO! JAMESON! GET OFF OF HIM!" Alex shouted as he shoved Jameson off of him roughly, and he let go of the barn owl. Who was slowly trying to gain his oxygen back.

"What are you doing?!" Siax screamed at the black owl, while slapping him on the back of his head.

"What am I doing?! He tried to kill you! I'm only protecting you!" He argued back as he went to attack him again, but Siax held him back.

"No! Please! I don't want any trouble with you guys! I'm on your side now!" Keith tried to defend himself, as Alex helped him back up onto his feet.

"What?! How can we be so sure that he's not gonna betray us? Just to get inside Siax's cloaca!" Jameson screamed in frustration, as he shook Siax off of him.

"Because I'm the only one who knows how we can beat Felix! But you have to trust me!" The muscular barn owl spoke up again before he was once again attacked! But by another bird this time!

"YOU BASTARD!" Lila came out of nowhere and struck Keith down with a metal pipe that she found in one of the rooms, and bashed Keith across the face, making him spit up some blood. "YOU HELPED FELIX TO TRY AND KILL MY BOYFRIEND!"

"NO! LILA! STOP IT!" Alex flew up to his blue macaw friend and held her back, while she tried her best to wriggle herself free.

"LET ME GO! I WANNA BASH HIS FUCKING BRAINS OUT!"

"Wow, and I thought I was the one with the fiery attitude?" Keith remarked, as he spat out the blood in his beak. "Look, you guys got the wrong idea here!"

"Oh? And I suppose we are just supposed to forgive you after what happened on the cliff eight months ago?!" Jameson retorted, as Siax held him back again.

"No guys! He is telling the truth! He gave us the medallion!" Alex beamed as he pulled it out of his holster.

Lila took one good look at the medallion in the snowy owl's wing, and she immediately softened her expression. As she remembered that it was exactly the same one that her beloved was wearing.

"How did you get that?" Jameson asked in surprise as he finally calmed down and gave in.

"After Felix kicked RDJ off the cliff, before that he explained that he ripped it from his neck! He told me to keep it to try and find the cube! That was originally going to be my plan! But after Siax told Alex that she loved me like a brother, I knew that I was fighting for the wrong side! So I'm giving this to you now! Because I think we could possibly use this to find out where RDJ is!"

"What? You also believe that he is alive?" Lila gave him hopeful eyes, while she gazed at the barn owl.

"No…I know he is alive! Because I've seen him…"

8 Months Ago…Keith's POV…

"Keith! You check the left hand side, and I will take the right! As soon as you find his body, let me know!" Thomas beamed as he started searching his area of the bottom of the cliff, while the barn owl just sighed and groaned.

"Why do I have to do this?" He thought to himself as he flew into the trees that were on the edge of the jungle.

He flew past a few of the trees at the front, and saw that there was nothing there. He thought that this was just a complete waste of time!

"What the fuck are we doing? He's not…not…" Suddenly, his eyes fixed on a group of birds on the jungle floor. Two hyacinth macaws were standing there, while dragging a third one across the floor. And he knew exactly who this third bird was. "There he is!"

As he was about to go down there to confront the trio of birds, he noticed from a distance that RDJ's chest was still moving! And he instantly concluding this as a sign that he wasn't dead.

"He's still alive? Huh…But why are they…"

"Florence! Get down here! It's RDJ!" One of the birds called out to one of the tree hollows, revealing a remake hyacinth macaw who poked her head out of the hollow and instantly descended to the ground.

"Oh my god! Just like Fernando said would happen! Quick! Get him inside so I can patch up the wound to avoid him getting an infection!" The female beamed as the two hyacinth makes lifted him into the hollow, and out of sight.

As Keith watched this happen, he had a little think to himself. On one hand, he could tell Felix that he wasn't dead…but his plans to kill Alex would be delayed! So he had to make the only logical decision, that would benefit him.

"I better tell him that RDJ was eaten by a predator! Don't need to keep delaying my real goal…" Keith whispered to nobody in particular, as he spun around and flew back to the cliff…completely going against his master's orders.

End Of Flashback…

"SO HE IS ALIVE?! YOU GOTTA TAKE ME TO HIM! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!" Lila begged to the muscular barn owl, who just felt a little scared of her behaviour.

"Okay! Okay! Listen…I can take you to him! But you guys have to do one thing first!" Keith pondered as he took a look at the medallion.

"ANYTHING!" The blue spix's female beamed excitedly while screaming in his face.

"Easy hot head!" Jameson remarked to Lila, who only shot him a cold glare.

"Will you shut the…" Lila growled at her black owl friend, before she got shushed by a white wing.

"Can we not do this right now?! What's on the medallion?" Alex asked as he took a little look on the edges.

"It's written in Latin? I can't translate it! But I know someone who can!" Keith remarked as he took a little look at Siax, who immediately started to feel quite anxious.

"I don't know Keith? We haven't studied Latin together since we were kids?" Siax replied as she felt a bit unsure of her capabilities.

"I know! But you were always better at Latin than me! I focused more on my guard training than focusing on my books! Please, I think this could be the key to finding RDJ! If you don't do this for me…at least do it for Lila?" Keith asked as he gave the medallion to the burrowing owl female.

"Well…" Siax was about to protest against it, but her blue female friend decided to really…put on a convincing face.

"Siax…pleaseeee?! If it could help me find him! We have to give it a try?" Lila sadly asked while giving her puppy dog eyes.

"What the hell are you doing?" Keith asked with a very confused look.

"It's more of like a begging face!" Alex whispered to the barn owl, who got what he was saying and just nodded his head in understanding.

"Ughhh Fine! But don't expect any miracles!" The burrowing owl female giggled while rubbing her friend on the cheek. "Let's take a little looky here!"

Tenebrae…Factae Sunt Diaboli Continuo Exoritur Magnum Cum Propheta Excutit!

"Huh? That's odd?" Siax pointed out as she took a closer look.

"What? What is it sweetie?" Alex asked in concern as he wrapped a wing around her.

"Devil…Darkness…Rises…When…The…Prophet…Awakens? That's what these words roughly translate?" Siax responded as she placed the medallion back in Keith's wing and started scratching her head.

"What does that mean?" Jameson asked in surprise as he tilted his head to the side. "Hold on! Do you think it might work with this?!" The black owl went to his bag, and pulled out the shock cube that Tomada gave him, and he gave it to Siax.

"Huh? Maybe that could work! Keith, put the medallion in the centre of the keyhole!" She ordered her friend, who nodded his head and placed it in the centre of the cube.

All of a sudden, the cube started to glow a bright yellow, and everyone in the room started to feel a slight buzz of nerves.

"Okay…what is happening right now?" Lila asked as she held onto Jameson, who was equally confused.

"I don't know? Give me the cube for a moment!"

"Are you sure?" Siax wondered with a scared look.

"Yes I'm sure! Pass it to me!"

"Okay…here you go!" The burrowing owl female passed the cube to her friend, and he stood there staring at it in confusion. But he knew that he had to try something, even if it meant he had no idea on what was about to happen.

"Okay…here goes nothing! Tenebrae…Factae Sunt Diaboli Continuo Exoritur Magnum Cum Propheta Excutit!" He spoke the words of the medallion, and closed his eyes as he awaited for the cube to do something.

After a few more seconds of waiting…the cube suddenly stopped glowing and returned to a plain and dead object. Making the black owl just sigh in disappointment as he wanted to see something cool happen.

"Well I guess that just settles it huh? I guess it doesn't do any…HUH?!"

Suddenly, the cube made a huge blast of energy shoot out of it, not powerful enough to blow anyone away. But it was definitely large enough to scare anybody in the room.

"Ughhh Siax? What did I just do?!" Jameson asked his friend in fear, but she just shook her head as she had no idea.

"I don't know! What is going…" Siax immediately got taken out of her thoughts, when the cube started to change colour from a bright yellow into a bright red. And it started to shake violently, while hovering in space in front of Jameson.

"Guys?! GUYS?!" Jameson kept speaking to the others, but they just stood there in shock, while witnessing this moment.

Then out of completely nowhere…

"The Prophet Has Awoken! And I…AM HOME!"

The red energy from the cube shot out of the cube, and went straight inside Jameson's beak, like he had been possessed. Making him scream in terror, while this energy just fired straight into his body.

"JAMESON!" Lila, Keith, Alex and Siax screamed simultaneously as they watched this happen. But none of them could do anything, because they were too scared to move.

After a few moments had passed, the cube finally stopped rattling and dropped to the floor. But not only that…Jameson collapsed on the floor, and immediately passed out.

"DUDE! DUDE!" Alex ran over to his best friend and picked him up to take a good look at him, and he immediately became concerned. "Shit this is not good! We need to take him to Raul!"

"But what about RDJ?" Lila asked sadly as she was comforted by Siax.

"I know that you are going through a lot right now Lila, and I really do feel for you! But the sooner that we get Jameson to a medical specialist, the quicker we'd be able to find out what to do next! Do you get what I mean?"

"But…" Lila was about to protest, but then Keith decided to interject and get involved with their business.

"I can take you to that hollow where I saw him! Siax can take Jameson to your doctor friend and I'll take you and Lila to the hollow!" Keith suggested as he picked up his spear.

"You would? Would you really do that for us?" Siax asked as she went to pick up Jameson.

"Of course! But the only problem is, there is a group of Felix's army on top of the stadium, and we have to deal with them before we leave!"

"I can get Tomada and Roberto to help us deal with them! Then you take us to RDJ! Deal?" Alex pointed out as he stuck his wing out.

Keith nodded his head and shook his wing. "Deal! Now get your friends and meet back here! We leave as soon as we can!"

Lila beamed happily in excitement and tightly hugged the barn owl male, who was a little surprised by this.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" She kept thanking him, while hugging him tightly.

"Hahaha You are welcome!" Keith responded as the two of them departed from the hug. "Don't worry my friend…we will find him!"

Somewhere Near The Cliff…A Few Moments Earlier…

"Florence, I'm getting really worried about you? You've been sitting in here too long and you need some fresh air?" Mason spoke to his wife quite scared of her behaviour because she spent all her time just sitting next to RDJ's unconscious body.

"I can't leave him Mason! We already did that when he left to go to Argentina! But now look at him…on the verge of possibly death!" The hyacinth female sadly responded as she dabbed his forehead again with a rag.

"Come on sweetie? He's gonna be okay? I can tell!"

"Oh and how are you supposed to know that? For all we know he could be like this for the next…"

"HUAAAAAAAAAAA!" RDJ suddenly breathed heavily in a really powerful breath, causing both hyacinth macaws to immediately shoot their eyes towards him.

"Oh my god…he's awake!" Florence beamed excitedly as he started to massage his wing.

"Well I'll be dammed!" Mason smiled widely, as he stood next to his wife, waiting for their friend to notice them.

The blue and gold male slowly started to open his eyes, and check his surroundings in the hollow, only to see that two birds were just standing there staring at him. But because his sight wasn't very good…he instantly thought it could be the two birds he thought of.

"Florence…M-M-ason!" RDJ croakily spoke, while clenching his head tightly. "Ahhhh…where am I?"

"We almost thought we lost you there! It is so good to see you!" Florence beamed as she gave him a hug. And after he got his consciousness back he returned the gesture, only to stop halfway through. "You're in a tree hollow! You've been in a coma for eight months! But we took care of you!"

"OW! Ooooh…my wings!" He groaned in pain as he laid down and started coughing. "Bloody hell…you guys took your sweet time! Eight months huh? I didn't plan to be out that long!"

"Hey, we saved your life don't forget? It's not our fault Fernando was late deliver the location!" Mason responded as he patted him on the shoulder. "I thought that too! Fernando said you'd be awake in a month tops!"

"Well I'm glad you guys followed instructions…because I need to get out of…ahhhhh…" RDJ went to stand up, but the pain in his body showed him that he still couldn't move. "Fuck…this isn't good!"

"You aren't going anywhere mister! Not until you are fully healed!" Florence sternly but sweetly spoke as she made him feel more comfortable. "You hungry?"

"Starving!" RDJ responded as he felt his tummy rumbling. Causing Florence and Mason to chuckle in amusement.

"I'll get you some star fruit! There's a tree nearby!" Florence beamed as she flapped her wings and shot out of the hollow, making her husband chuckle.

"Hahaha You suddenly wake up and now she wants to go outside? Clearly she missed you?" Mason chuckled as he saw RDJ smiling at him. "It is really good to see you again! I see you've changed a lot in the past few years!"

"I could say the same for you! So what's new with you?" RDJ asked as he shifted into a more comfortable position.

"Well…me and Florence are married! We have two children who are back in Venice with my cousin! We run our own guild in Venice like you asked! And…I gained some muscle! To impress the lady like you suggested!"

"I'm surprised you remember me saying that?"

"Well…You were the hero who saved my life? Why not tell your story while I'm at it? So…what is new with you?" Mason asked as he tilted his head to the side.

"Well…apart from being the head of the assassins! I have some good friends here! I gained my emotions back! I fell in love…With Lila…LILA!" RDJ beamed in concern as he tried to stand up again, but Mason laid him back down again.

"Wish woah! Where do you think you are going? Shouldn't you be resting? Who's Lila?" Mason asked him in concern, as his friend finally relaxed.
