April watched as Jackson rested his arm on Maggie's back. They really were a beautiful couple. Still, she couldn't help but think back on the times when it was her wrapped in his arms. After the shooting, when they leaned on each other to get through the day. When she almost slept with Alex, Jackson protectively held her as she wept. When she kissed him for the first time, and his arms pulled her into him. When they slept together, bodies becoming one. When they celebrated their first pregnancy, dancing as they basked in happiness. When he held her to him after Samuel's diagnosis. In Montana, when it seemed like everything was going to be perfect, but it wasn't.

"You really gonna marry him?" a voice cut through her thoughts. Her best friend sat beside her, running her fingers through her blonde hair and looking into April's eyes.

"Hey Arizona," April replied weakly, "Where's Sofia?"

"Running around here somewhere, Jackson is keeping her company" The peds surgeon responded, "I can hear her laughing, she's fine. Are you?"

April gazed down at her hands, which had begun to nervously wring together without her consent. She moved her fingers to her head and gently massaged her temple. Was this really happening? Was she really about to marry Matthew?

"April?" Arizona urged, "Are you sure about this?"

April looked up just as Jackson passed, chasing Sofia in a game of tag. Harriet had the world's best father, it's too bad that April would never get to have another child with him. Her mind wandered deep into her imagination, picturing Jackson running through the field with Samuel, Harriet at his heels, another one in her own arms. As tears pricked her eyes, she forced herself back to reality.

"Do you think he's happy?" April slowly looked towards Arizona, "With... Maggie? Is he happy?"

A pause filled their surroundings. Of course they were. Maggie didn't torture him, or move half way across the world to save herself. Maggie was good, kind. He deserved Maggie. They deserved each other.

"I think he's happier with her than he was alone," Arizona stated, letting out a sigh.

"Good," April nodded, "That's all I want. I want him to be happy."

"Are you happy?" Arizona questioned.

A small broken sound escaped April's throat.

"I'm-" she shakily responded, "I'm getting married. So yes, I guess I'm happy. Or I will be? Matthew is good, and even if we're both just making do with each other, at least I won't be alone."

"Why are you settling, April?" Arizona ran her fingers through her hair, "You can wait, and find someone-"

"There is no one else, Arizona," April gave her a watery smile, "Jackson is… I have to settle, there is no one else for me."

Tears filled the blonde's eyes as she saw the look of resignation on her best friend's face.

"He's happier with her than he was alone," she repeated, "But he was happiest with you."
