The Final Push And A Hero's Sacrifice
What do you think this chapter means ladies and gentlemen? It basically means that we are now heading into the final part of the battle! Miami's forces are going to continue pushing back the enemy as far as they can go! Whilst this is happening, our heroes will now have to find this incredibly dangerous bomb that could ruin everything that they worked so hard for! But…at what cost? You will have to find out right now!
Unknown POV…
The death of Felix was the exact push we needed to help fight off his army and weaken their defences! But the only problem with this is the fact that not only will the remaining thugs not surrender…but they will do everything they could to get their wings on the staff and the cube that we had in our possession. However…I don't think any of us would of expected…a brave soul who sacrificed herself to save us all…however intense the situation may have been…I never expected that she would save…her…and I can't imagine how the others would be feeling after withessing what just happened…
Present Day…
Mimi continued to force the enemy to leave the battlefield by sending her soldiers into the enemy to finish them off for good.
"BACK OFF YOU DIRTY PRICKS!" Mini screamed as she rammed a machete through a birds skull, before elbowing another in the face.
"Mimi…we have them on the run! We can't hold these guys back any further!" A blue macaw spoke to his leader with a nervous look.
"Look! We have five…FIVE minutes until that bomb goes off! If I say we hold them back then we hold them back! No excuses!" She argued back as she threw a spear killing three marmosets at once. "Hahaha! Shush kebab anyone?"
"Why are they not giving up?! As they have less than fifty soldiers left?" A spix's macaw thought as she rammed her machete deep into a marmoset's back.
"I don't know?! You think I can read minds?!" Mimi growled a little as she rolled her eyes and chopped a marmoset's head clean off.
"Oh shit! I'm not sticking around to die! I SURRENDER!" A military macaw screamed in fear as he flew away in a panic after watching a few more of his army members die.
"What a baby!" Mimi giggled before smacking another one on the neck breaking it instantly.
"MIMI!" The blue female quickly turned around to see RDJ arriving with the samba club team and she immediately felt like she was going to feel satisfied with their result.
"What of Felix handsome?" Mimi cheekily remarked before slitting a military macaws throat. "YES! Ten down! Forty to go!"
"He's dead! And Thomas was also defeated by Jaime and Lexi! But we have bigger problems than that right now!" The blue and gold male replied with a troubled expression and took a look at the centre of the battlefield. "We need to find the bomb located in the centre of the battlefield!"
"We already found it and dug it up! It's not too far from us! You have to hurry!" Mimi frantically responded as she ducked quickly and threw another spear at two scarlet macaws. "Double trouble!"
"Jeez ain't Mimi! You definitely know how to fight?" Jewel remarked as she too dodged an attack and Apollo fired a pepper bill in the attackers face before Alex broke his neck with his new modified nunchucks.
"Great! Alex, Jameson, Tomada and Jacqueline! I need the four of you to clear away any of the attackers that might prevent us from disarming the bomb! Jaime, Emily, Lila and Nightfly! Help me defuse the bomb! As for the rest of you, I need you to stay here and continue pushing the enemy back!"
"What?! No! We are staying with you! Mimi can handle this on her own!" Blu remarked a little insulted by his choice.
"That's an order Blu! This is not open for negotiation!" RDJ responded in a quick way as he made his way to the centre of the battlefield with the chosen birds following him. Leaving everyone else baffled by the decision he made.
"I'm not going to stick around and watch my friend die!" Leona beamed in determination as she flew after her friend.
"LEONA! WAIT!" Eva piped up as she flapped her wings to make it over to them as well.
"Sure? Why doesn't everyone just go?!" Dominic sarcastically remarked as he shrugged his shoulders. Clearly not even being serious! But the others didn't take it like that at all.
"Yes we should! As I said, Mimi has this covered!" Blu replied as he clapped his wings together with emphasis. "How about we all go and help by covering him! We can't let any of the enemy prevent him from disarming that bomb!"
"Okay!" All of them replied in agreement and proceeded to fly after their friends. But Jewel decided that she wasn't going to go.
"I'll stay here with my aunt Mimi! You guys go!" Jewel replies as she got her fighting staff at the ready.
"Are you sure?" Blu asked as he gave her a curious look.
"Go! I'll be fine my love!" She responded sweetly as she lightly kissed him on the beak. "Now go! Help RDJ defuse the bomb…so we can finally finish this stupid war!"
We Go To RDJ Now…
"MOVE OUT OF THE WAY! MOVE IT!" RDJ screamed at the locals who joined in on the fight, as they immediately obeyed and flew off as they went to help Mimi and Jewel defeat the remaining soldiers.
"MENTOR! OVER HERE!" A young blue jay beamed as he waved his wing frantically as he saw the head of the assassins approaching from a few metres away.
"Thanks kid! Now go back to the stadium with the other remaining assassins! We have to save as many as we can!" RDJ beamed before patting him on the shoulder.
The young blue jay nodded his head and flew away to gather his troops! Luis even decided to give him a helping hand by running around and picking up injured birds to bring them back to the stadium for Tiago and Hazel to work on.
Lila landed right besides her beloved and gazed at the bomb that was sitting just in front of them. Which now had three minutes left on the timer. "Sweetie? You sure you know what you are doing here?" The blue spix's female asked in concern as she felt a huge amount of pressure build in her heart from this tense moment.
"I have no idea! But Jair told me when I activated the cube that the two artefacts together can combine and stop anything! Maybe this is what he was trying to tell me in the very beginning!" The blue and gold macaw male explained as he leaned his wings back and rammed the staff into the ground to prepare it for action. "Be very careful! This could get a bit dangerous!"
"Dangerous or not! I'm sticking with you!" Lila beamed as she grasped his wing tightly, making him smile lovingly at her.
"How the hell did I get so lucky to find a girl like you in my life?"
"Luck didn't have anything to do with it! It was all fate that brought us together!" Lila giggled as she stepped back and prepared for any strange activity. But before he did do anything…out of absolutely nowhere. Lila vomited a little bit…causing her fiancé to stare at her worryingly.
"Honey? Are you okay?"
"Y-Yeah…probably something I just ate!" Lila responded a little edgy…because clearly she was hiding something from him…but he didn't think anything of it and continued what he was doing.
RDJ placed his medallion on top of the staff and locked it into the key hole, before saying the words of the assassins when killing a target.
"Descanse…Em…Paz!" He shouted in a loud booming voice, trying to summon the effects of the ancient tools.
Suddenly, the entire staff exploded with this huge blast of energy that formed around the outside of the bomb, preventing it from spreading anywhere! But as this was all well and good for the birds on the outside…what if a certain…someone got trapped on the inside…?
The energy shot right in between RDJ and Lila…splitting the two of them apart! And not only that…but it trapped her on the inside!
"LILA!" RDJ screamed in a panic as the force field of energy split the two of them apart, making Lila trapped inside with the bomb. "NOOO! SHIT! HOW DO WE TURN IT OFF?!"
"I DON'T KNOW?!" Lila screamed in fear as she tried to walk right through it. But as she prepared to do so…her wing caught on fire and her feathers were burning like no pain she had ever endured before in her life. "AHHHHHHH! MY WING!"
"HOLD ON! LET ME TRY SOMETHING!" RDJ shouted in a huge panic as his heart was racing like crazy. Like the day he saw his parents dead in the tree hollow many years ago. "DESCANSE…EM…PAZ?!"
Unfortunately for the two of them…nothing happened this time. And it only made them even more petrified by the minute.
"RDJ?! WHAT THE FUCK HAVE YOU DONE?!" Alex bellowed in bewilderment as he saw what was going on right in front of him. "WHAT DID YOU DO?!"
"I DON'T KNOW! It just…happened?!" He report in fear as his friends tried to break the shield down…but nothing was working.
"What sorcery is this shit?!" Keith asked in surprise as he took some damage in the process of breaking the e energy apart.
"Lila! Can you try and use your weapon to dig yourself free?!" Jacqueline asked quickly as she saw the difficult situation that her best friend was in.
"I can't try!" Lila responded in fear as she already looked at the floor…the shield was passing through the ground to prevent her from escaping. "HELP ME! IM TRAPPED!"
"LILA! LILA NOOOO!" RDJ screamed again as he tried to burst through the shield himself, but as he did so he got shot back a few paces and he landed on his back. "ITS TOO POWERFUL! I CANT STOP IT!"
"SO YOU ARE JUST GONNA LET HER DIE?!" Jacqueline bellowed again as she turned to face him with a really enraged glare. "YOUR OWN FUCKING GIRLFRIEND?!"
"OBVIOUSLY NOT!" RDJ argued back as she stood close to her face. "YOU KNOW I WOULD NEVER DO THAT TO HER!"
"Guys?! Don't do this!" Nightfly tried to interject but Jacqueline cut him off rudely as she continued their argument.
"YOU ARE JUST GIVING UP TO SAVE YOURSELF!" Jacqueline piped up and gave him a little shove.
"NO I AM NOT! I WOULD NEVER DO THAT TO LILA!" RDJ cried as he swatted her wing away gently.
"THAT'S WHAT YOU ARE DOING RIGHT NOW!"
"NO I'M NOT!"
"YES YOU ARE!"
"STOP IT BOTH OF YOU!" Tomada bellowed in rage as he immediately burst onto the scene and broke up the argument that was clearly getting way out of hand. "Us standing around arguing isn't going to solve this is it?! We have to think of a way to get her out of there! There must be something that we can do?!"
"Hold on! Hold on!" RDJ immediately closed his eyes for a beige moment as he tried to remember something. But as he did have a good think…the only thing he could remember regarding the staff…was something that instantly killed him inside. "It wants a sacrifice…"
"WHAT?!" Everyone screamed in unison, including Lila as she started shivering feeling petrified by this.
"Am I gonna die?!" Lila sadly choked while shedding a lot of tears, causing her fiancé to run up to the force field and stand close to her.
"No! Someone has to fly into the shield to sacrifice themselves for the bomb to be disarmed!" RDJ beamed as he gave her a reassuring glance. "It's the sake way that Jair got trapped in there!"
"How do you know this?" Emily asked as she was surprised by how he knew so much about something that hasn't even happened yet.
"Because this was how Jair got trapped inside the staff! He didn't want anyone to sacrifice themselves as he prevented an explosion in Belarus many years ago after the Great War Of Rio!"
"So he got trapped in the same situation? What does that mean for Lila?" Tanya asked in concern as Nightfly hugged her in a comforting manner.
"I…I don't know…" RDJ replied as he was very scared for his beloved right now.
"SO HOW DO WE SAVE LILA?!" Jameson growled as he started to become impatient.
"Someone…must sacrifice themselves for the energy of the artefacts to completely destroy the bomb! Like an EMP!" RDJ sadly spoke as he lowered his hood and gazed at his friends. "That is why I'm going to be the one to do it!"
"WHAT?! NOOO!" Lila cried in shock as she narrowed her eyes at him. "YOU CANT DO THIS TO ME!"
"Why not? Because if I don't…then you get trapped inside the staff!" He replied sadly as he placed a wing on his face to wipe away his tears. "I can't let you die because of me! I already lost too much in my life! I can't lose you too!"
"But if you do…then you will be dead before you meet your children!" Lila simply spoke in a choked up voice as she returned the sad gaze.
"CHILDREN?!" Everyone in the area including RDJ screamed in response as they widened their eyes in surprise.
Lila placed a wing on her belly as she continued to cry…the tears completely dampening her cheeks. Signalling you're the others that she was…pregnant.
The blue and gold male stared at her beloved in shock…and stared directly into her eyes. You're…pregnant?"
Instead of responding with words…she slowly nodded her head as she rubbed her belly affectionately. "I wanted it to be a surprise at the wedding! But…with one minute left on the timer…I suppose it doesn't matter now…"

"No! Don't talk like that! I…I can find another way?!" RDJ tried to reassure her that everything was going to be fine…as the tears were getting more frequent from his eyes. "There has to be another way!"
"I'm sorry…But I don't think there is another way? I think my time is here!" Lila sadly replied as she lowered her gaze to the floor. "Figures…I didn't think this would be the way that I'd go…"
"NOOOO! NOOOOO!" RDJ cried as he tried to bash through the force field with his weapons, but nothing was breaking through! As the bomb was now on forty seconds. "FUCKING THING! LET HER GO! LET HER GOO! I SAID LET HER GO NOW!"
"Honey…it's okay…it's gonna be okay!" Lila softly spoke as she rose her wing up and placed it on her heart. "Thank you for everything my love! I will always be with you! If it weren't for you…I would never know what love would be like!"
"NOOOO! I CANT LOSE YOU! I CANT LOSE YOU! I SAID LET HER GO!" RDJ screamed louder and louder with every swing. But the more he tried, the worse it made him feel. "LILA PLEASE! I LOVE YOU MORE THAN MY OWN LIFE!"
Everyone stood there in complete silence as they saw this horrible situation unfold…but none of them at this point was ready for what was going to happen next…
"I HAVE TO FIND ANOTHER WAY TO SAVE YOU! PLEASE! IS THERE NOTHING I CAN DO?!" RDJ bellowed again as he instantly felt the barricade building up around his heart again…until…a certain someone spoke up in the group.
"No…but there is something that I can do…"
Everyone slowly turned around to face Eva…who stood there with a really defeated look as she glanced at the blue and gold macaw male.
"Eva?" Blu asked quietly as his jaw dropped a little bit. "Eva…what are you doing?"
The female toucan slowly turned around and gave him a saddened smile. "This is what my Rafi would have wanted me to do!"
"What?! What do you…" Blu was about to reply, but Eva immediately started flying towards the force field.
"Goodbye my friends…" She whispered to the group as she was about to fly straight into the dangerous energy. "I love you all…"
"Eva? EVA?! NOOOOOOO!" Jaime bellowed as she was metres away from the wall of energy. But before she could have even stopped herself from flying…it was already too late…
The female toucan flew straight into the force field, incinerating her body instantly, making everyone's jaws drop in horror.
"EVAAAAAAAAAA!" Everyone including RDJ and Lila bellowed in horrific tones, as they saw this horrible moment!
Suddenly, the energy separating RDJ and Lila sunk to the ground, allowing Lila to quickly fly out of there towards her beloved…but they were not done there!
"WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING?!" Lexi cursed as the energy from the staff and cube caused the bomb to defuse, but the ground started to rumble and it caused everyone to start panicking when it hit them.
"GO! MOVE! MOVE!" RDJ bellowed as he started ushering his friends to fly away from the area.
He took a good hold of Lila and carried her away in his talons as everyone else made a quick fly for it. Not knowing what was going to happen at this very point!
As the ground started to shake even more violently, the energy shot right back into the staff, and the staff came flying at RDJ at a vigorous pace. Causing him to quickly take a look behind him.
"RDJ! LILA! LOOK OUT!" Jaime shouted as he saw the staff was heading straight toward them.
"HUAAAA…AHHHHHH!" RDJ threw Lila out of the way as she went flying into the air with her damaged wing. But Tomada quickly managed to get to her to catch her in his large talons.
"I GOT YOU!" The peregrine falcon beaned as he safely caught her in his talons and hovered in mid air.
The staff collided with the head of the assassins, and knocked him straight into the sand head first. Before landing directly besides him…completely motionless.
"HONEY!" Lila screamed in fear, as everyone started to make their way towards their blue and gold macaw friend…who laid there face first in the sand. "RDJ? Are you okay?!"
"Mmmm Mmmm SNNNND…" he muffled quietly as he continued to have his face buried in the sand.
"What?" She asked curiously cocking her head to the side.
"Mmmm saiddd…I hate sand!" RDJ spat in disgust as he spat all the sand out of his beak and wiped the rest off of his feathers.
But as soon as he did so, Lila tackled him to the ground and gave him a passionate kiss on the beak, as she still had tears streaming down her face. "Oh RDJ! I thought I was dead! I thought I would die not knowing what would have happened to us!" Lila cried as she nuzzled her face against his face. "I thought I would die in there!"
"I know baby I know! I was so scared too! I thought I lost you! The love of my life! The most important bird in the world to me! Promise me you will never ever do anything like that ever again!" RDJ cried as he hugged her tightly in his wings. "I already had eight months without you! I couldn't live a single day knowing that you wouldn't be by my side!"
"I promise my love! I promise! I love you so much! I love you so so much!"
"I love you too! I love you…and I love you!" RDJ spoke referring to his unborn children as he placed a wing on her belly. "I can't believe we are going to have a baby! I'm gonna be a daddy!"
"I know! And I'm gonna be a mom…wait…oh my god!" The blue spix's female immediately got taken out of her own thoughts when she remembered what happened only moments ago.
"What?!" RDJ replied a little wide eyed as he rubbed her sides.
"Eva…" she sadly responded as she laid her teary face in his chest feathers. "She…She saved me!"
"She saved us…" Both RDJ and Lila looked up to see Blu approaching them with a really defeated look on his face. "She…She saved all of us!"
RDJ slowly stood up onto his talons and pulled Lila up onto her feet, before slowly approaching the saddened blue male.
"I'm so sorry Blu! I know that she was like a sister to…" The blue and gold male immediately got cut off when Blu tightly hugged him and started crying on his shoulder. Thinking about the bird who just scarified themselves for them.
"My sister…my sister is gone! All because of that fucking Felix!" Blu snarled as he broke away from the hug.
"Blu…you know that I did offer to do it…"
"I know! I know! But that asshole had to come along and cause so much destruction!" Blu responded angrily as he threw his machete on the floor in frustration.
"Blu…" RDJ tried to calm him down, but unfortunately for him, he was already at the agreed stage of grievance.
"FELIX KILLED ALL OF THEM! RAFI? DIANTE? BELTRAN, ALICE, CHLOE, MICHAEL, SANDRO, EVA, SERGIO, KIPO, TINY EVEN FUCKING MALCOM! HE WAS THE CAUSE FOR ALL OF THIS!" Blu ranted on as he felt the blood in his body boiling even more.
Everyone else in the area just stood there in shock as they saw him reacting this way. They obviously knew that Blu was close with Eva. But they haven't seen Blu this angry since Rafael was murdered by Nigel almost a year or so ago.
Alex was the first one to try and settle him down by pulling on his wing, but it wasn't enough as he just easily shook him away.
"Why did…he do this?! What did we ever do to him?!" Blu carried on ranting as he was so enraged that he couldn't even control his emotions.
"I don't know Blu…all for power! Once he got a taste of power he tried anything he could to keep hold of that power…even after all these years…he wanted to use the staff and cube for himself! To control us! To enslave us! Felix was a stubborn fool who thought chaos upon the world would make him feel powerful…but all it did was make matters worse…" RDJ explained as deeply as possible as he placed a comforting wing on his shoulder.
"What do you mean?" Blu asked as he wiped away the tears in his eyes.
"Blu…take a good look around you right now!" RDJ beamed as he placed both of his wings on his shoulders and showed him all the birds that have now finished killing off the remaining enemy, and have come to support them in this difficult time. "All these birds…were once slaves for the birds who worked for Armando and Felix. All of them have one thing in common…hope!"
"Hope?" Alex asked curiously as he wrapped his nunchucks around his waist.
"Yes, hope! All of them in some way suffered because of what they went through in their past! All of them individually broken by different situations! But…when they all shared that little spark of hope…they all came here! To fight! To take back what they lost many years ago! Yes we've lost a lot of good birds in the past few years! But everyone together managed to fight for freedom! For whet they believe in! And now look at us…ALL OF US!" RDJ shouted the last part as he flew on top of a tree branch overlooking the entire army of birds standing in front of him. All of them glueing their eyes to him in admiration. "ALL OF US FOUGHT TOGETHER! WE DID WHAT MANY OTHERS FAILED TO DO! WE STOOD UP TO THOSE WHO CAUSED US SO MUCH PAIN! WE FOUGHT FOR OUR LIVES!"
As he continued his powerful speech, Jewel flew next to her husband and laid her head on his chest.
Siax, Kelly, Martin, Douglas, Roberto, Cabot, Jamison and many others came to listen to his speech as the head of the assassins stood there with such pride and honour. That all of them were in awe of his inspiration and wisdom.
"I LOST MY FAMILY EIGHT YEARS AGO…I THOUGHT THAT MY LIFE WAS OVER…THAT I HAD NO PURPOSE…BUT I WAS WRONG!"
"This is so freaking beautiful!" Max started to tear up as he was comforted by one of his army members.
"EVERY DAY I HUNTED DOWN THE BIRDS WHO WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR MY FAMILY'S MURDER! NOT KNOWING WHAT REALLY MATTERED! BUT AS I STAND IN FRONT OF ALL OF YOU NOW…I NOW KNOW WHAT MY PURPOSE IS! I AM RDJ! SOON TO BE HUSBAND AND FATHER TO LILA AND OUR FUTURE CHILDREN!" RDJ remarked as he blew a kiss towards his beloved who was really moved by his words. "BUT MY WORK IS NOT OVER YET!"
"What do you mean?" Mimi asked as everyone felt a bit taken aback by these words.
"I HAVE TO TRAVEL TO BELARUS, TO RETURN THE STAFF AND CUBE TO A BURIEL CHAMBER! BUT I CANNOT DO IT JUST YET! RIGHT NOW, ALL I WANT TO DO IS BE WITH MY FAMILY! MY FIANCÉ! MY FRIENDS! MY CHILDREN! BECAUSE IN MY WORLD...BIRDS OF THE RIVER...MUST ALWAYS...STICK...TOGETHER!" RDJ finished his speech in a powerful manner and then saluted the army.
Everyone saluted him in response and stood there with pride and honour.
"We may have lost so many loved ones along the way…the most recent being Eva our beloved toucan friend! Who is now at peace with Rafael in heaven! She like all the others we sadly lost, will be truly missed!"
"So what do we do now? Now that the war is over?" Iris asked as she felt really proud of her little brother leading the crowd with his powerful speech.
"I suggest you all go home! Live your life! Rest at ease knowing that you can live that carefree life where we shall never be hurt again! Because all of you…ARE FREE NOW!"
"FREEDOM!" One of Mimi's scarlet macaw army members beamed in a powerful voice.
"YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" The whole army cheered as they started celebrating, all hugging and dancing with each other as the war is now over! And they have won the war against the thugs.
"HAIL RDJ! HAIL RDJ!" The crowd of assassins kept chanting as they bashed their wings against their chests in a determined manner. "HEAD OF THE ASSASSINS!"
RDJ bowed in front of the army as they all turned around and cheered as they celebrated the end of the battle. But as he saw so many smiling and relieved faces out there…his gaze was mainly focused on his friends. As they all huddled together in grievance for Eva.
The blue and gold male made his way down to the samba birds, and he slightly brushed past the crowd as he made it into the centre. Only to see that Blu, Jewel, Nico, Pedro and Luis all cuddled together with tears in their eyes.
"I'm sorry you guys…I…I wish there was something I could have done…" RDJ simply spoke as he lowered his head sadly.
Jewel looked up at the saddened male and wiped away her tears, before slowly standing up and bringing him into a warm hug. Which he returned the gesture and hugged her back.
"There is nothing that you could have done RDJ…this was her choice…she sacrificed herself…so that Lila could raise her family with you!" She sweetly responded as the tears continued to roll down her cheeks.
"I know…she was my hero! And I can't even thank her for saving my life!" Lila remarked as she stood besides her fiancé, hugging the two of them in a group hug.
As the three of them continued to hug each other warmly, Alex tapped RDJ on the shoulder, and he slowly turned around to face the male snowy owl.
"So…what do we do now?" Alex asked innocently as he too wiped away his tears.
"What do you mean?" RDJ replied as he was a little confused by the question.
"What do we do now? The war is over! What are the rest of us supposed to do now?"
"Whatever you feel! We are free now Alex! We can do whatever we want to! And as for me…I'm going to start raising my family with my wife! And seeing my friends of course!"
"But what about the club bro?! They destroyed it almost a year ago? Where the fuck are we supposed to go?" Pedro asked as he still felt angry about what happened to their samba club. "Eva would know what to do…"
RDJ placed a wingtip on his chin to think…he started to think about somewhere that they could set up the new club. He knew that they needed to go somewhere where they can take their mind off of what happened, but at the same time they do need somewhere to plan a funeral for Eva. And after a few seconds of the samba birds staring at him hopefully, he clicked his wingtips and formed a small smile as he thought of somewhere. "I know the perfect place! Follow me!"
And that is the end of the epic battle! We've had a lot of big moments in the last few chapters! Everyone that was involved throughout the entire story all joined together to fight against Felix and his thugs! RDJ finally got his revenge and killed Felix! Lexi got her revenge by shooting Thomas killing him instantly! Mimi has arrived at the very end to help out in the battle against them bringing along the army of spix's and scarlet macaws! The staff and cube combined together to stop the bomb from exploding! Lila almost lost her life…and she is now pregnant with RDJ's children! And…Eva…poor Eva!
