"What?" Ceilia asks.
"Paine and Paxton!" I exclaim. Harry furrows his eyebrows. "Pain and Panic's sons. Paine is Pain's son, and Paxton is Panic's son." I explain. Ceilia and Harry nod. "C'mon, let's go." I say, going to get up.
"Now?" Harry asks.
"No, tomorrow." I say. Harry gives me a look. "Yes, now!" I say, rolling my eyes. Ceilia jumps up.
"I'm ready!"
"Good. We might need muscle, so I'd advise Harry to get up and stop being lazy." I say. Harry glares at me before getting up. "I'll be back whenever I'm back. I had an idea, and I'm taking Harry and Ceilia with me!" I shout. "Come on, someone probably heard."
"I want to meet goblins." Ceilia says. I smile and walk outside.
"Okay, they like to hang out at the pub on the Isle." I say, mostly to myself.
"Who?" Harry asks.
"Pain and Panic. If I can find them, then I can probably find Paine and Paxton." I say.
"Smart." Harry says.
"Yeah, let's go." Ceilia says. We walk to the ledge where we can see the Isle.
"Fair warning, this might not work. And I hope you can swim 'cause I can't." Ceilia looks at me, confused. "Fire and water don't mix well." I take the ember and try to teleport us to the Isle. "Ha! It worked!" I exclaim. The people who stayed on the Isle look at me weird. "Out of my way losers." I say coldly to the onlookers.
"The Isle in you never really left, did it?" Harry asks.
"Nope." I say. As we were walking, I get a tap on my shoulder. I spin around. "Hi."
"Hi, Hadie. Fancy seeing you here." Uma says.
"Mm-hmm. You didn't follow me, did you?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
"She did! Uma told me to follow her follow you." Gil adds brightly.
"Thanks sunshine boy." I say. Gil smiles. "Let's go find Pain and Panic so we can find Paine and Paxton." I say. We start walking to the pub that Pain and Panic hang out at in silence, mostly because of threatening glares sent every which way. Then, something rather unpleasant happened.
"Hi, Hadie." A voice says from behind me as we walk past Dragon Hall.
"Anthony." I reply coldly.
"Oh, you just show up, and think you can talk down on me like that?" Anthony says. In my peripheral vision, I see Harry raise his hook and take a menacing stance. I place a hand on his arm.
"Actually, yes. I think I can." I say taking a step towards Anthony. Ceilia stands next to Harry, messing with her cards and glaring at Anthony.
"Well, hate to break it to you, princess, but-" Anthony started. My hair lit itself on fire. Uma and Gil stood on my other side, Uma glaring down Anthony, and Gil being Gil.
"I'm not a princess, Tremaine." I snarl.
"Oh, sorry. Right, you're a goddess." he said, mocking a bow.
"And you aren't royalty." I say, arching an eyebrow. Anthony glares at me. I continue, "I hope you learn not to mess with me, Anthony. You can hurt me temporarily, but I can trap your soul forever." Harry slings the arm without his hook over my shoulder.
"Oh, I thought you were over that, just like how I thought you were over Harry." I clench my jaw.
"Oh, right, you aren't in the loop. Sometimes, extreme measures are called for." I say leaning closer to his face. I know for a fact Anthony has a crush on me. "And as for my feelings for Harry, they never went away because I love him." I pulled back, and kissed the side of Harry's mouth. Harry blushed and spun me around so then I hit his chest.
"That's my girlfriend." Harry says. We all walk away, and I smirk as Anthony stands there, dumbfounded.
"I flirted with two guys at once." I say with a laugh.
"Who?" Harry asks, then it dawned on him. "Oh. wait… Anthony likes you?"
"I mean, who doesn't?" I say, looking up at him.
"Even I did while we were in separate gangs." Harry admits. I smile.
"'Course you did because you're a softie." I say.
"Uh-uh! I am not!" Harry exclaims.
"Okay…" I say in a singsong voice as we reach the pub. "Pain! Panic!" I call. I get dirty looks from some of the other goblins.
"Yes, your goddess-ness." Pain says, bowing.
"I wouldn't be here if your dad hadn't ordered us to listen to you or have our souls trapped forever." Panic complained.
"Keep it up and it will happen, Panic." I snarl, then quickly regain composure. "Where are Paine and Paxton?"
"Oh, yeah. Paine is at our house, getting ready to move to Auradon for school." Pain says. I nod.
"Paxton is at the arcade." Panic says, trembling slightly.
"Dr. Facilier's arcade?" Panic nods. "Great, thanks. I will find them both, your services are greatly appreciated." I walk back outside. "Paine is at the house they live in, and Paxton is at the arcade." I say to the group.
"I know where Pain and Paine live." Gil says. "Dad is right across the street."
"Perfect! Lead the way, Gil." I respond. We walk down towards the docks, then head back up to Gaston's cottage. We walk into the goblin residences. Gil stops in front of a dark brown house with the roof caving in. I look at the grimy surface of the steps leading up to the house. The exterior walls have stains on it. I push the oddity aside, and walk into the house. "Paine!" I call. Paine's blue-ish hair pops out from a doorway.
"Hi, Hadie." Paine says, walking into the room. "What brings a goddess like you to our humble home?"
"I decided to make you my henchman." I reply shortly. Paine raises an eyebrow. "I was thinking maybe you and Paxton could help me show everyone what good is, and prove that even goblins deserve a chance." I say smoothly.
"I'm in! C'mon, let's go get Paxton." Paine says. I smirk, knowing how to get through anyone's thick skull. We walk outside.
"I did it." I say with a grin.
"And I didn't even say my line." Uma says.
"Then say it." Harry replies. Uma smirks and her, Harry, and Gil get in a circle. Ceilia looks over at me and I shrug my shoulders.
"This is a job for pirates!" Uma says. We all laugh. A chill flows through the air. I mentally curse whoever made everyone hate me. I see a greenish glow from afar, and a slight growl escapes my throat. Mom appears.
"Hello, my little goddess of a daughter."
"Mom." I address her presence.
"Oh, don't be bitter, Hadie. It doesn't suit you." Mom says.
"It doesn't suit you either. I can do what I want, by the way." I say my smirk grows as her's diminishes. "Anyways, why are you here?" I practically spit out.
"Hadie…" Harry warns. I glare at him, before giving him a quick kiss. Mom gags.
"Hadie, I'm here for the ember." Mom says, my hand immediately flies to the stone around my neck. "I need to get some of my powers back." Mom continues. I laugh.
"And why should I give it to you? You've done nothing but plague my life." I say. Mom opens and closes her mouth. She goes to speak, but I hold up a hand. "Hold that thought." I say, my smirk growing. "Listen, mother, You're talking to a goddess, And I don't wanna hear the drama. Kindness ain't my brand-" I sing.
"Oh, I guess that's why you ran." I furrow my eyebrows. "Try being married to your Papa!" Mom sings, before I can respond.
"You stink at being a mom!" I exclaim.
"Poor Hadie, are you sad?" Mom asked.
"Not as sad as you without your powers." I counter.
"I didn't come to fight, For once, do something right-" Mom sings, frustrated.
"I help steal souls, were you expecting flowers?" I interrupt.
"I only need you 'cause I came here for something." Mom sings.
"I've given you everything, by giving you nothing!" I sing. "I did what I had to do."
"No, you only did what's best for you." Mom sings.
"Well, you could learn a thing or two, When push comes to shove you do what you gotta do, yeah." I sing, pushing Mom, who glares at me while my friends stare in awe.
"You were never there. Guess you don't have a phone, You never called to say, 'I miss you'." Mom sings, and I can see how this affected her, but I don't care.
"Ha ha ha, are you kidding? Is this a joke?" I ask.
"You need to let it go, You're stronger with those mommy issues." Mom sings.
"Oh! Thank you!" I say, relieved.
"Show me some respect, It ain't easy to neglect. My attention would've made you softer." Mom sings.
"Ooh-hoo! Should I be proud? Don't turn this thing around." I sing, looking into her eyes.
"I guess you are your father's daughter." Mom mutters. "Don't think I need you, I just came here for something."
"I've given you everything, by giving you nothing." I sing. "I did what I had to do, I made it on my own, no thanks to you. Oh, you could learn a thing or two. When push comes to shove you do what you gotta do," I sing, shoving my mother, and earning a glare from her in return.
"How 'bout I go with you and we'll spend some time?" Mom asks.
"How 'bout you stay here 'cause you're out of your mind!" I respond.
"Let's make new memories, you can show me the town." Mom offers.
"No, you can keep your memories now." I reply.
"Get over it." Mom snarls.
"I am over it!" I snarl back.
"I'm over you being over it!" We say at the same time. Paine throws me a tambourine, and a light bulb goes off in my head.
"Let's dance!" I declare. I started doing a tambourine solo Dad taught me. Mom looks unimpressed by my antics. I throw it to Mom who throws it at Harry's face, but I catch it just in time and hand it to him with a smile.
"I did what I had to do." Mom and I sing at the same time. "No, you only did what's best for you. Well, you could learn a thing or two. When push comes to shove, you do-" I shove Mom. "When push comes to shove, you do-" Mom shoves me. I furrow my eyebrows. "When push comes to shove-" I shove Mom, harder than previously. "-You do what you gotta do, yeah!"
