As soon as Ladydragon finished transforming eight bright lights emerged from the pendent manifesting into the eight Renlings. "We are pleased to meet you Renren."
Ladydragon gasped upon seeing them. While she was staring at them, King Cash shot his gold blades at her. The attack power behind the attack was weakened, but if it struck the Prodigious then the Renlings wouldn't be able to help.
Eucalyptus pushed Ladydragon out of the way and twirled his weapon to form a shield to block the gold blades.
Ladydragon used a crystal to help her get back on her feet. "Who are you and what can you do?" she questioned.
"We are the Renlings. We represent the attributes of humanity. To use our powers you must demonstrate our attributes and say our name," they spoke as one.
At that moment, Hawkmoth had landed close enough to grab the Prodigious. "That belongs to me!"
Before Ladydragon could cover up the Prodigious a green turtle shape barrier formed around her.
Peace Keeper had landed in front of her and was holding out her hands to keep the barrier up. Wayzz's kwami charm was glowing brightly indicating the kwami charm was at maximum level.
"Ladydragon, you might want to hurry up and learn how to use your powers! I can't keep this up forever." Outside the barrier, Hawkmoth was trying to push through as Ladybug tried to divert his attention back to her.
"Right," the new heroine replied. Looking at the floating eight spirits she asked for them to explain their powers quickly so she could join the fight.
The dragon was Long-Long and his attribute was justice. The eagle was Ying-Ying and her attribute was confidence. The snake was She-She and her attribute was courage. The praying mantis was Tang-Tang and her attribute was patience.
The bear was Xiong-Xiong and his attribute was calmness. The monkey was Hou-Hou and his attribute was compassion. The horse was Ma-Ma and his attribute was honor. Lastly, the tiger was Hu-Hu and his attribute was discipline.
"I know how to use my powers! Drop the shield so we can help the others!" Ladydragon informed Peace Keeper. The young woman did that and went after Hawkmoth, who had been successfully drawn away by the spotted heroine.
Ladydragon turned her attention to King Cash ready to give him a beating. "Xiong!" Transforming into a bear she charged the Akuma. It was payback time.
King Cash was endeavoring to cut Eucalyptus's arm off when Ladydragon used her massive paws to block the attack. She pushed him back and away from her fellow hero.
"Leave him alone Cash! Your fight is with me!" she bellowed at him.
"Get out my way! I'm not leaving empty handed!" He sent out a mix of sharp silver blades and the dangerous gold ones.
"Tang!" Instantly she was a small mantis jumping out of the way. Weaving her way around the blades she called on a different Renling. "Hou!"
As a monkey, she launched herself at King Cash's face. Once on, she began to scratch him madly. The Akuma didn't seem to feel the pain, just annoyed by her antics.
He reached up and grabbed Ladydragon by the scruff before hurtling through the air.
Eucalyptus ran in the direction she had been flung. As the teenager transformed back into her human self, she flailed in the air thinking she was going to hit the ground hard.
Instead, Eucalyptus leaped into the air and caught her before that happened. "Are you all right?" he asked as he looked over the new heroine.
"I'm fine!" she snapped as she pushed herself out of his arms. "Stay out of my way. Cash is mine!" Ignoring him she called on She-She to transform into a snake.
She slithered across the floor and dropped into a crack. King Cash smirked as he sank his fan into the crack and ran along with it.
Right before they both met Ladydragon shouted out, "Hu!" A massive tiger pounced on top of the Akuma.
King Cash struggled as he tried to push the tiger off him. The tiger roared and tried to bite his head. Using his feet, he pushed up her back end. The sudden shift in balance made her fall off.
"Time to collect your pelt!"
"I don't think so," Eucalyptus stated as he held the Akuma in a tight bear hug. Lifting him off the ground, King Cash struggled hard to get loose from his captor.
"Ladydragon! His fan is the source of his power! Destroy it!" the koala hero urged the girl.
"Sorry, busy right now! Ma!" Turning into a horse she galloped across the room expertly evading the uneven rocks and crystal shards. When she was close enough, she turned and kicked King Cash out of Eucalyptus's arms and into the ceiling.
"Ying!" she called out. She soared up to the ceiling and raked her talons across the giant coin. The Akuma groaned as the assault continued without any way to defend himself.
Hawkmoth was not pleased by these developments. This was supposed to be an easy task! Leaping on a nearby ledge, he took control of his Akuma mentally. Making the connection with King Cash, he mimicked pulling his arms free and punching someone in the face.
King Cash did the same. He came careening down on Ladydragon, partially cutting her right wing with his fan. He landed on his feet and she made an emergency landing.
Transforming back into herself, Ladydragon noticed that a thin cut had made its way through her uniform and onto her skin. A thin trickle of blood fell to the floor.
Snarling, she called on the final animal in her arsenal. The one that would help her get revenge for her father. "Long!"
The Prodigious flickered, but no transformation took place. "What the Long!"
Mei Shi lips pursed in dissatisfaction. "The dragon's value is justice. Your anger clouds your judgment."
"How does it cloud my judgment? I want revenge for my father's murder!" she screamed and stomped her foot.
"Revenge isn't the same thing as justice!" Ladybug called out as she ran up a pillar and flipped to the ground behind Hawkmoth.
Peace Keeper followed up by using her rope dart to knock the cane out of the villain's grasp.
"Of course it is! I'm making sure Cash is punished for his crimes!" Ladydragon proclaimed.
She was so distracted by her anger, she didn't hear King Cash as he snuck up from behind her.
The Akuma raised his weapon, planning to turn the girl into a golden statue. Instead, a hatchet pushed up against the weapon sending it flying through the air.
Everyone stopped what they were doing as they watched in amazement as Chat Noir jumped from out of the darkness and caught the fan. "Cataclysm!"
The fan turned into dust and King Cash screamed in fury as he returned to his human self. "Where am I? Treasure!" he exclaimed as he reached for a crystal shard.
Eucalyptus leaned over and gently "tapped" the man on the head, rendering him unconscious. He then held Ladydragon back so she wouldn't attack the helpless man.
"It's over Hawkmoth. Surrender!" Ladybug demanded. She and her teammates closed in on hi
"It's not over yet!" the villain proclaimed. He had one more trick left. Holding up his cane he redirected the freed akuma. "Evilize Mei Shi my little akuma!"
Ladybug flung out her yoyo in an attempt to stop the akuma before it connected only for Hawkmoth to strike the yoyo out of the way. The same happened with Peace Keeper's rope dart.
The akuma merged with the lion's orb as Hawkmoth's mask appeared over Mei Shi's eyes which had gone blank.
"YanLuoShi, I am Hawkmoth. The wielder of the Prodigious has proven unworthy. She can't tell the difference between justice and revenge. She has attacked both enemy and ally. You can't let this stand."
"I give you the power to punish this unworthy Renren and others like her. In exchange, I only ask for the Prodigious and Miraculouses she and her allies possess."
"Humanity will pay for betraying me." The dark purple smoke appeared and it grew bigger and bigger, destroying the ceiling in the process until the Akuma was as big as the Oriental Pearl Tower.
The smoke wafted away revealing YanLuoShi. The akumatized lion protector kept his statue-like appearance only the colors had changed. Instead of navy blue skin, it was now ebony black. Red lines of energy formed a maze across the protector's body.
Letting out a giant roar that caused the remains above to break into even smaller pieces, the Akuma eyes turned bright red and lasers burst from his eyes destroying the buildings across the street.
The heroes gasped in shock as Hawkmoth smirked. "If you want to save the city from destruction I suggest handing over your Miraculouses, Prodigious, and kwami charms."
He held out his hands to collect them. He knew they would never let innocent people get hurt.
Instead of complying, Peace Keeper reached into one of her belt pouches and hurled something right at Hawkmoth's head.
Instinctively, he covered up his face only to hear a whirring sound. Opening his eyes he was shocked by a small red sphere hovering in front of him. It was a simple drone!
He swatted it away and moved to attack, but was shocked to see the heroes were gone. Looking up, he saw them reach the top of the hole and pull themselves onto solid ground.
The drone had merely a distraction so they could escape! He went after them jumping from ledge to ledge until he was out of the cave. Sprinting ahead, he caught up with YanLuoShi and jumped on the wall of the dojo staring at the city.
He watched the demolition unfold as city streets started burning. His Akuma took a few steps forward crushing cars and streetlamps with ease. The heroes would have to give up their magical items.
Then he felt his heart stop. YanLuoShi lasers had crossed the bay and were now obliterating The Bund! The wind carried the screams across the bay making him go cold.
"Adrien!" he whispered to himself. He needed to stop the attack. "YanLuoShi! Stop attacking The Bund! Go destroy a residential area!"
"I listen to no human!" the Akuma informed him before blasting Hawkmoth out of existence. Satisfied, he started marching across the bay intent on destroying the city.
The five heroes landed on the wall and took a close look at what was happening. It was worse than they thought.
"The entire city will be obliterated if we don't cleanse the Akuma," Chat Noir stated tensely.
"When we escaped I saw YanLuoShi swallow the orb. It's inside his body. How are we going to get to it?" Eucalyptus questioned.
"We'll find a way. We always do," Ladybug assured the new hero.
"Right now, our priority should be getting as many civilians away from The Bund as possible. With fewer targets around, it will be easier to get the Akuma's attention," Peace Keeper remarked calmly.
"I'll do what I can to help. Maybe I can unlock the dragon power by returning Mei Shi to normal."
"First, everyone recharge. We need to be at full strength," Ladybug reminded them. They all split up to take care of their individual needs.
The citizens of Shanghai were on the run. The Akuma's lasers had sliced buildings in half. His giant size was crushing the streets, cars, and anyone who didn't move fast enough.
"Humanity is flawed! It does not deserve to inhabit the Earth!" YanLuoShi roared. Half the cities windows shattered and large cracks opened up in the streets causing people to fall in.
The heroes arrived on the scene and went to work. Ladydragon and Eucalyptus rescued the trapped civilians. Peace Keeper was directing people out of the danger zone while Ladybug and Chat Noir were distracting the Akuma.
"Get as far as you can from here! Tell everyone in a five-mile radius to get out of her! Go!" Peace Keeper called out in Mandarin. Using the transmitter she had tested a few months ago she cut into every signal in the city and repeated her message over and over.
"Hopefully, this will keep people out of danger," she whispered to herself. Taking to the air, she zoomed down the neighborhood's streets and helping any stragglers.
Ladydragon changed into an eagle and flew down the crack. She spied a woman with a little kid. She gently picked them up and returned them to the surface. She quickly changed back. "You need to leave the area. Get as far from here as you can!"
"We will and thank you." The woman and child hurried off.
Ladydragon turned to Eucalyptus, who climbed out of the crack with the last of the civilians. He made sure they were okay and then set them on their way.
"That is the last of them. We need to assist the others."
"Right. I know what to do. Ying!" Ladydragon transformed into an eagle and took off before Eucalyptus could stop her. He frowned as she flew away before going after her.
Peace Keeper, Ladybug, and Chat Noir were hiding behind a newsstand as YanLuoShi fired more laser beams causing part of the street to plunge into the bay.
"Have all the civilians been evacuated from the area?" Ladybug inquired.
Peace Keeper nodded. "My thermal heat filter says that there is no one in this area besides us heroes for about twenty blocks."
"What's the plan, My Lady?"
"I haven't noticed any weakness. So I would suggest we first weaken him with Eucalyptus's power. Peace Keeper, you will carry him up there and drop him on the Akuma's head."
"As soon as both of you are in the clear, Chat you'll use your powers to break open his stomach area. I know you've never done it before, but you have to try and control how far your power spreads."
Chat Noir nodded as Ladybug explained the last part of the plan. "Ladydragon can fly in and use her bear transformation to hurtle the orb out so it will crack on impact. I'll capture the akuma and restore everything to normal. Understand?"
At that moment, Eucalyptus landed next to them. "I heard your plan Ladybug. It's very good. The only difficulty will be getting Ladydragon to hear it," he calmly told her as he gestured to the air.
In eagle form, the new heroine maneuvered between the laser beams. As soon as she was over YanLuoShi she called out, "Ho!"
As a tiger, she tried to claw the Akuma's head as she tried to get inside and get to the akuma. "Mei Shi stop this! You're a protector, not a monster!"
"Humanity has betrayed me! You are misusing the Prodigious and you shall die for that!" The Akuma reached up and grabbed the squirming tiger. Like a cat playing with a mouse, he flung her into the water hoping to drown her.
"We have to help her! Peace Keeper, you save her and I'll try to Cataclysm the Akuma's feet."
"Right!" Peace Keeper replied. Just before she ran off she looked back at her partners. "Remember, we need to work together as a team to stop this Akuma. We can't hesitate to use all our resources."
Racing forward, Peace Keeper tapped a button on her wrist computer. Jumping into the bay, her mask changed into a full face mask and the boots changed into flippers.
Reaching in the back left compartment, she pulled out two tubes and attached them to the sides of her face mask. These tiny tubes were experimental technology from New Zealand.
They were mini air tanks. The government was testing them out to see if they could help with rescues where no one had scuba gear and needed to dive for a long time. They both held enough air for fifteen minutes.
Swimming downward she saw that the impact of the water had knocked Fei unconscious, causing her transformation to drop. She pushed herself harder and grabbed the girl before she could sink further.
Swiftly, she swam back up and hauled Fei onto the broken street. Peace Keeper quickly assisted Fei by getting the water out of her lungs. With a jerk, Fei awoke and unknowingly transformed in Ladydragon once more.
"Thank you for saving me," Ladydragon said.
They both heard the sound of the lasers getting closer. Peace Keeper shoved Ladydragon out of the line of fire telling her to run. Calling on Ma's power, she galloped away right before Peace Keeper was obliterated.
Ducking into an alleyway, Ladydragon changed into a monkey and climbed up to a small intact balcony. Dropping her transformation she started to cry.
"Peace Keeper is dead and it's because of me," Fei told the Renlings hovering above her. I thought for sure I would be able to change into a dragon before I hit the water, but I didn't."
"I'm sorry Father. I tried to get revenge for you."
Ladybug and Eucalyptus landed on the balcony. Chat Noir had been caught in the laser beams when he tried to use his power on the Akuma.
"Are you okay child?" the koala man asked.
Fei wiped the tears out of her eyes. "My father trained me to be the next Renren," she explained as she clutched the Prodigious in her hands. "It was my responsibility to keep this relic from falling into the wrong hands. To use its power wisely when needed."
She let the pendent fall out of her hands and leaving it to dangle around her neck. "All I wanted was to avenge my father so that our family honor would be restored. Instead, I endangered everyone in the city."
Eucalyptus lifted Fei's face by her chin. He smiled at her before calling out, "Balloon, Pouch Close." Wang Cheng sat down next to Fei as Balloon sat on his shoulder.
He took a deep breath and spoke to Fei in a kind voice. "You loved your father very much. I can tell that by looking into your eyes. His honor is yours now. Do you think he would be proud or disappointed that you were pursuing revenge in his name?"
Fei scooted back slightly and brought her knees up to her chest in a moment of vulnerability. "No, he would be very disappointed in my actions. I abandoned his teachings and ruined people's lives because I lied to myself. My father always did right by everyone. He was a force for good unlike me."
Wang shook his head. "You're still a good person. Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you should give up." He took Fei's hands into his and smiled kindly.
"Your soup hasn't been cooked yet. You still have time to fix the recipe and enjoy a delicious meal. You just need to believe you can."
Fei looked uncertain. "I don't think I can. Not after how I treated my first friend ever. Marinette will never forgive me."
"She already has. Tikki, Spots Off." In a flash of pink both Fei and Wang were shocked to see who Ladybug really was. Especially Wang, who didn't know what to think.
Marinette knelt and looked Fei in the eye. "I was angry about you stealing my things and lying to me. So angry I didn't notice how sorry you were. Not to mention brave in telling me the truth."
"I wasn't ready to forgive you before, but now I am. Fei, I forgive you."
"Thank you, Marinette. That means a lot to me." The two girls stood up and with Wang looked at where the Akuma was still rampaging. They had to stop this.
"This time we all need to work together. It's the only way we can purify the akuma and restore things to normal," Marinette said. The other two nodded and the heroes transformed once more.
They jumped off the balcony and landed near the water. Luckily, YanLuoShi was facing the other direction.
"Lucky Charm!" A giant Chinese vase fell from the sky. It took all three of them to catch it before it broke. What was she supposed to do with it?
Ladybug's eyes darted around and she figured out what to do. "Ladydragon, you need to use Long's powers. Stir up the bay as much as you can and get YanLuoShi to fight you."
Turning to her great-uncle she told him his role in this. "While Ladydragon and the Akuma are fighting, you'll sneak in behind and weaken his powers." She looked at Ladydragon again. "When he's roaring in fury that's when you send me into his mouth. I'll be hiding inside. Once in his stomach, I'll break the orb and purify the akuma. Everyone ready?"
The other two nodded as they split up. When everyone was in position Ladydragon took a deep breath. "I can do this. I don't want revenge anymore. I want justice for my father. I will restore Mei Shi to normal."
With an inner fire in her eyes, she called out for the last Renlings power. "Long!" This time the corresponding light lit up and she felt her body change.
Being a dragon was amazing. Her body was heavy, but she moved through the air with grace. Her tail was strong and flexible. Her senses were boosted to incredible levels.
The ultimate difference was the connection she felt with the weather. She knew how strong the air currents were. She could also feel the charged particles in the air and sense every droplet of water in the bay.
"Mei Shi!" she called out. The giant Akuma whipped around and saw the transformed Ladydragon. "You need to stop this! I just want to help you, please!"
"The betrayer of humanity wishes to help me? You lie wretched child! The Prodigious belongs to me!" YanLuoShi shouted firing his laser beams at her.
Ladydragon called on the lighting in the sky to aid her. The lightning strike came down from the sky and hit the beams. There was a massive explosion that pushed both of them further apart.
Before he could recover Ladydragon blasted him with a gust of wind that was so forceful that YanLuoShi couldn't move an inch. That was Eucalyptus's cue.
He jumped the long distance from the street and into the bay. He landed with a big splash that the Akuma couldn't hear over the roaring wind. Swimming closer, he started to tread water when he was just behind the right foot.
"Minimalist!" The dark blue dust spread across the massive foot and soon YanLuoShi was shrinking at a remarkable rate.
Soon he was half his former height and just the right size for getting a chill pill. "Mei Shi, time for your medicine!" Using her tail, Ladydragon stirred up the bay water forming a waterspout.
With a flick of her tail, the waterspout poured itself into the Akuma's mouth. While he tried to stop the water gushing in, Ladybug came out of the vase.
Using her yoyo, Ladybug cracked the orb releasing the akuma. Floating in the water she managed to snag it without too much trouble. With a quick purification, the white butterfly flew through the dissolving purple smoke.
The teenager was falling too fast to use her yoyo. She let out a shriek only to stop when she realized she wasn't falling anymore. She was on the back of a dragon.
"I got you don't worry," Ladydragon told her. Circling the bay, she spotted Eucalyptus holding onto the vase to keep him afloat. Diving, she picked up Eucalyptus and the vase.
They landed next to Mei Shi who was looking at the damage he caused. "I did this? I'm supposed to protect humanity not harm it. I have failed as a protector."
Ladydragon touched his shoulder. "You weren't responsible for your actions. Hawkmoth is to blame," she assured him. She gave a nod to her teammates who threw the vase up and Ladybug shouted, "Miraculous Ladybug!"
The loveliness of ladybugs traveled throughout the city restoring it to normal. The people who had been obliterated appeared where they had last been. When the loveliness vanished all the heroes said, "Pound it!"
Mei Shi smiled happily knowing everything was right again. He turned to Ladydragon and noticed that all the spots were glowing brightly. "I see you have learned the difference between revenge and justice."
Ladydragon bowed to him. "Yes. I swear I will never make that mistake again. If you'll have me, I will be the best Renren you have ever seen."
Mei Shi bowed back to her. "You have proven that you are the true Renren. The Prodigious is yours to use and protect. I shall be your mentor for the rest of your journey."
In a flash of light, Mei Shi transformed into a kwami size creature. "We need to return to the Sacred Cave. There is some unfinished business to take care of there."
They made it back to the Sacred Cave just before Cash woke up in handcuffs. He struggled to get out of them while looking hatefully at the heroes. "You have no right to arrest me!"
"Sure we can. You've committed several crimes that the police are very interesting in hearing about."
The man laughed at them. "You got nothing! There's no evidence I committed any crime." He leered at Fei, the only one who had dropped her transformation. "There's plenty of evidence of your thievery."
This time it was Peace Keeper who laughed. She pulled a flash drive out of one of her belt pockets. "Oh, we have plenty of evidence. You freely admitted to your crimes on video without coercion."
The young woman loved the sight of Cash spluttering upon hearing that. He had no idea that when he encountered Ning, she was wearing special recording contact lenses or a digital recorder disguised as a watch.
"There is also the matter of your store being raided because of a tip you were in cohorts with a local human trafficking ring. By now, the police have gathered enough evidence against your illegal dealings," Eucalyptus informed him.
"The word of two heroes confirming you worked willingly with a terrorist will also be used against you," Chat told him. While Cash was not legally responsible for his actions as an Akuma, the Chinese court viewed him selling the bracelet to a known terrorist akin to giving a bomb to radicals.
The fact he didn't know he was selling the bracelet to a terrorist didn't negate the fact, he knew the relic was a priceless piece of Chinese history, which meant it wasn't supposed to be for sale.
"There's also the matter of your plans to extort a French minor by forcing her to pay a ransom to get back her stuff. The police have the video of you tossing the ID in the trash. With your store's high-resolution cameras it's very easy to see the ID picture and the girl in your store was the same," Ladybug stated in a matter-of-fact tone.
Fei approached the man glaring at him. Her bracelet was back where it belonged around her wrist. "You burned down my home. Murdered my father. Then made me a thief for your criminal activities. I'm going to work with the courts to ensure justice is met."
Cash gulped in fear. He knew some of his crimes were considered capital crimes. That meant he could be given the death sentence and be executed minutes after the verdict was read.
Fei knew what he was thinking. He didn't know that when he was convicted she would ask the courts to negate the death sentence for life imprisonment plus 10 years.
She was a heroine of justice not revenge after all. "Time to face the consequences of your actions." She transformed and used Ying's power to fly Cash personally to the police station.
"Well, My Lady. It appears Shanghai has a new protector. We should let Marinette and her chaperon know it's safe to return to her great-uncle's restaurant. Right after Eucalyptus returns the Miraculous."
Eucalyptus chuckled loudly and shook his head in merriment. "No wonder no one has discovered your identity, Adrien. No one would guess such a polite boy could be a jokester."
Chat Noir jerked. He was ready with an excuse of why Adrien wasn't Chat Noir when Ladybug gave him a reassuring look. "He already knows my identity. You can trust him not to reveal yours."
"Indeed. Balloon, Pouch Close." Chat's jaw hit the ground when he saw who had been wielding the new Miraculous.
"Shifu Cheng! You were the one who helped us?"
"There's no reason to shout Adrien. I figured we might need a little help when it came to protecting the Prodigious so my father sent me the one I requested."
Peace Keeper removed her mask and looked at the old man. "By the way, my existence is an international secret issued by the UN Security Council. Don't go telling people about me okay?"
Wang promised he wouldn't tell anyone about their identities. Nor did he plan on revealing his own heroics of today. Some things were better kept secret. "Goodbye, Ms. Balloon. I hope our paths cross again someday," he said as he handed over the bangles to his great-niece.
"I look forward to that, my wielder. Until next time." Balloon went back into her dormant Miraculous. She couldn't wait to share her adventure with her "siblings."
On the way back to the restaurant, Adrien insisted the Gorilla not be aware of his superhero status. It was hard enough to find time to be alone. If the Gorilla knew the truth, Adrien could find himself under lock and key again.
Wang chuckled again and he promised. The blond let out a sigh of relief. A few minutes later they arrived back and Fei was waiting for them outside.
Fei launched herself at Marinette giving her a big hug. "Cash is in jail! The police promised he wouldn't be allowed out until they transport him to court for his trial."
"I'm happy for you! Come join us for dinner. We're celebrating my great-uncle's 60th birthday tonight."
Once inside, Adrien checked on Gorilla to make sure his ankle injury wasn't too serious. At the same time, Bastille flew out of the kitchen to greet the women before singing the birthday song.
There was a knock on the door. Wang checked who it was and a few seconds later he was leading the three boys from earlier towards Marinette.
"They found something of yours Marinette and would like to return it." Jiro presented her with her necklace making Marinette cry tears of joy.
The trio smiled as Marinette thanked them over and over. It made the boys feel good about themselves. Tonight, they were heroes for a teenage girl.
Soon dinner was served and everyone watched as Wang slurped down his noodle. Fei explained it was a tradition to celebrate the longevity of a person's life.
Then it was time for Wang's present. "I hope you like it. Mom said it was extra special because you're celebrating your birthday for the first time." Marinette thought that was a weird tradition.
When her great-uncle opened the box his eyes filled with joy. "Ah, Sabine remembered." He lifted out a squeeze accordion showing it to everyone. "I have always wanted to learn to play. Sadly, I never had the chance to before."
He squeezed it and a horrible sound came out of it. "I'll have to find someone who can teach me to play."
"I can. My father also enjoyed musical instruments from other cultures." Taking the instrument from Wang she began to play.
It was a beautiful melody. Even Gorilla swayed to the music while he relaxed for a few minutes.
Everyone clapped after Fei finished her performance. Wang smiled at the teenager in joy. "You truly are a magical girl Ms. Wu. I was wondering about asking you something."
Fei perked up interested in what he had to say.
"It is unwise for you to remain at your father's dojo after tonight's events. Therefore, I am offering to let you live here with me until your old enough to take possession of the land."
Fei sputtered in disbelief. She was not expecting this. "But my father's land, the city will take back possession of it if I'm not there."
Ning chuckled. "Don't worry, it's already been taking care of. I've got connections with the government. The deed to the land will be transferred to Mr. Cheng until you are old enough for it to be transferred back to you."
"You can rebuild the dojo anytime you want."
Fei couldn't help herself. She hugged Ning and Wang before hugging Marinette and Adrien. "Thank you. Thank you, everyone! This means a lot to me." She looked at Marinette. "I hope you don't mind me being your new sister."
"I don't mind. I'm overjoyed that my family has grown. This is truly a momentous occasion."
"A toast! To Wang, for making the most delicious food in the world. To Fei, for becoming part of the Cheng family," Ning saluted.
Everyone cheered for that. As they all turned their attention back to the meals, no one noticed Mei Shi peeking out from Fei's jacket.
"I think this is the start of a wondrous relationship," he remarked.
