Startled Luigi almost choked on his drink, with Daisy giggling at how her very presence was enough to send Luigi into his usual stuttering and frightened personality. Luigi quickly turned around to face Daisy putting his hand over his heart.
"Daisy for the love of - don't do that, my heart can't take all that excitement" Said Luigi.
Daisy only giggled mischievously again.
"Why are you expecting something to happen?" Asked Daisy in a playfully seductive tone.
Luigi's face turned to a deep shade of red.
"Oh Luigi you're too easy, always the fraidy cat, you're lucky you're funny to equal it out" Said Daisy.
"Y- you think so? That's me" Stuttered Luigi sheepishly.
Luigi yelped when he felt something bite down on his right calf, he looked down and saw a small chain chomp biting down on his calf.
"Nice to see you too Rocky" Said Luigi trying his best to contain the pain in his leg.
"Rocky how many times have I told you, only bite Weegee when I say it's ok, now let go of him" Said Daisy trying not to laugh.
Rocky chuckled lightly before letting go of Luigi's leg.
"Sorry about that Luigi, you alright?" Asked a concerned Daisy.
"I'll be fine, at least he didn't try to go for something a little higher like he tried last time" Joked Luigi weakly.
"No I downed the drink because I saw Richard and your mother" Said Luigi as he grabbed another glass of the nearest alcohol.
"Yeah seeing my dad can do that to you" Confessed Daisy as she also reached for a drink before downing it.
"Oh you certainly know how to pick em Luigi, hehehehehe we could certainly have some fun with her hehehe" Said the voice.
"I don't understand why he doesn't like me, I've done nothing but try to impress him" Confessed Luigi.
"Don't worry he's like that with everyone" Said Daisy.
"He doesn't seem that way with Mario" Said Luigi as he pointed out Richard being all chumy with Mario.
The sight of Richard congratulating Mario, patting him on the back, having a drink with him, offering him a cigar made Luigi's left eye twitch as if he was about to snap but his timidness and the fact that this was a formal party kept him back. When suddenly one of his visions appeared, it was Luigi...somewhat as he took the cigar out of Mario's mouth and pressed the burnt end into Richard's eye. Suddenly Luigi snapped back to reality as he just stared at the two.
Daisy just sighed.
"Don't worry weegee, one day you'll get the credit you deserve" Said Daisy finishing her drink and tracing her gloved finger along Luigi's chin. Her gloved hand felt like silk and velvet all in one.
Luigi cracked a weak smile but a smile nonetheless, Daisy always knew how to make Luigi feel better no matter the situation. For a brief moment he felt genuine happiness as he stared into Daisy's sparkling ocean blue eyes, it was no secret to anyone not even Daisy that Luigi had feelings for her, whether or not she reciprocated those feelings was another question, she never actually admitted her feelings for him but she did enjoy teasing him with her body and sexual undertones.
"Look at you, staring at her like some obsessed stalker, why don't you grow a pair of balls and just ask her out, or do you want Mario to do that for you too" Taunted the voice.
"Um Daisy I - I was just uh just wondering if y- you're not busy I wanted to know if you would-" Started Luigi before being interrupted by the clinking of a glass.
The clinking was coming from where Mario was, he was clinking a utensil against a glass call for a toast.
"I'd like to call a toast, to my lovely bride to be but also to the man who helped me every step of the way to rescue her when Bowser kidnapped her all those years ago, my younger Brother Luigi, where would I be without you?" Said Mario after raising his glass.
"Still fixing toilets" Joked Luigi, earning laughs from everyone especially Daisy.
A few hours passed as the party was nearing its end in the early evening as the sky turned to a bright orange. Most of the guests had left for the day, only a few of the guest remained and were seated at the dinner table enjoying the feast that was prepared as well the alcohal especially Richard with his scotch. There was laughing and chatting amongst them all, with the marriage date of Mario and Peach being the main question at the table. Luigi was not especially paying attention as he decided to let Mario and Peach deal with all the questions and speculation of their un scheduled but encroaching wedding. For once Luigi was smiling at how for the first time in how long that Mario was being put on the spot and looking uncomfortable, he would have felt guilty about taking pleasure in his brother's misfortune however the alcohol made Luigi's true feelings scrape the surface.
"Say Luigi I was thinking of staying in town for a couple of days, could you help me find a hotel?" Said Daisy a little tipsy.
Just as Daisy had asked Luigi, all the voices seemed to stop allowing everyone to hear Daisy's request.
"Oh now we're getting somewhere" Said The voice.
Luigi did not want to turn as he could already see the looks he was receiving without even looking at them. Snickers from Mario as well as Peach could be heard, and could feel the daggers in Richard's eyes pointing straight at him.
"Daisy you never mentioned that you were staying in the Mushroom kingdom for a few days" Said Daisy's mother Lillian trying to relieve some of the tension filling the air.
"I just decided only a few seconds ago" Said Daisy confidently.
"Aside from discussing it with us I wish you would have asked one of our guards instead of the sidekick" Said Richard spitefully.
"Pompous old bastard!" Said the voice, almost escaping Luigi's lips.
"Luigi is perfectly capable of keeping Daisy safe, you have nothing to worry about King Richard" Assured Mario.
"And he's no sidekick" Said Daisy, her cheeks red with a light buzz.
By the time the party had officially ended, night had befallen the kingdom, Luigi waited near the entrance as Daisy said goodbye to her mother before Richard walked up to Luigi and whispered into his ear.
"You touch my daughter you die, get the picture goombah" Said Richard before departing for Sarasland with Lillian.
"You and what army? I'll watch the life drain from your eyes as you beg for mercy" Said the voice vengefully.
As King Richard and Lillian floated off in their airship Daisy, Peach, Mario and Luigi all waved goodbye, although the others were waving goodbye with sincerity Luigi spaced out while waving and imagined the airship flying into a mountain and exploding upon impact.
"Luigi hello earth to Luigi" Said Daisy trying to snap Luigi out of his demented imagination.
"Oh sorry Daisy we should get going shouldn't we Mario" Said Luigi.
"Um yeah about that Luigi, well I was thinking of spending the night at the castle, me and Peach have our own presents to exchange" Said Mario.
"She's gonna bake me a cake if you catch my drift" Whispered Mario to Luigi.
Daisy hearing what Mario had said to Luigi giggled mischievously.
"Have fun you two" Said Daisy to Peach.
Peach only lightly blushed at Daisy's remark.
