And here is the last part. Eddie's parents are showing up and it's going to be a bit of a mess. Read my little note at the end of the story !

Good reading !

Eddie never thought it could be this good. Of course, when he is the one who gives pleasure to Buck, he sees how much his partner was enjoying it, but from there to imagine...

« Buck... »

« I'm here. »

Buck's mouth takes hold of his. Slowly, he slides his sex into him for the first time. Gradually, being careful because it was the very first time for Eddie. He has been preparing him for more than two weeks, teasing his still virgin anus with his fingers to facilitate the penetration. When Buck is entirely in him, his gaze pierces Eddie's, breathing as short as the other.

« If you want me to stop... »

« No ! » Eddie knots his hands behind his back to hold him in place, buried in him and lying between his thighs. « Keep going ! »

Powerful arms and a familiar body surrounded him as he poured coffee in two cups.

« Buenos Dias, mi amor* ! »

« Um, you're making progress. » Eddie smiles, hearing an almost perfect accent.

« I have the best teacher, and I have to tell you that he excites me when he speaks Spanish. »

Buck bit his ear.

« How do you feel ? » he asked. « I wasn't too brutal with you ? »

« No, it was perfect. » replied the young man, covering Buck's forearms, which surrounded his torso. « I wouldn't have let anyone but you make love to me this way. It was fabulous. »

« I love you so much, Eddie. »

Buck kissed him in the neck, and Eddie swung between his arms to take his mouth.

« Break your lease and come and live with me. » he mumbled. « I know you have two months left, but... »

« Okay ! » replied Buck. « Okay, I'm coming to live with you. And with Chris, of course. »

« Let's forget about the coffee and go in the shower. » says Eddie. « I need to... humpfh ! »

Buck cut him off with a fiery kiss.

Three months later !

Buck was entirely part of Eddie and Christopher's life now. He had moved in a week after Eddie's new request / supplication, and it all came together. A real family routine had set in between the trio, which had baffled their loved ones at first, but very quickly they had seen them for what they were. A family. At work, they remained so professional that Bobby, as well as the Chief of the Department after several surprise visits to see the team work together - and especially the couple - had nothing to say. Buck and Eddie had nothing to fear for their position at the 118.

« Buck, you've got two minutes to get out of there ! »

They had been called to the scene of a three fire-alarm in the middle of the night, and Buck was still inside the house while the other firefighters were out.

« Buck, answer ! » insisted Bobby on the radio.

At his side, Eddie felt a deep anguish. He had wanted to go back inside the house when he realized that Buck was still in there. The second floor of the house exploded under the flames.

« BUCK ! » shouted Eddie, taking a step forward.

But Chimney and Bobby prevented him from moving further. No, no, no, no, no, no... Eddie couldn't lose him. He needed him. Christopher needed him.

« He's here ! »

Buck emerged from the ground floor door, holding in his arms a shape covered by a thick blanket. He immediately walked to the ambulance and placed the victim, who was a seven-year-old girl, on the stretcher. The girl was crying, coughing, but she had no visible injuries.

« It's okay, we got her ! » said Chimney. « Are you okay ? »

Buck removed his helmet and nodded. Taking a step backwards, he found himself crushed in an embrace that he knew only too well. He closed his arms around Eddie, and did not formalize the swearing in Spanish which he mumbled in his ear.

« Why didn't you answer ? »

Bobby was furious. The couple parted to face the Captain.

« Buck... »

« I heard you, Bobby, but a beam fell behind me just as I was reaching the little girl and I went into a wall. The radio broke. » Buck explained. « I'm sorry ! »

And he showed the broken radio in question.

« I grabbed the girl and went back to the exit immediately. I was already at the bottom of the stairs when it exploded above us. »

Relieved, Bobby took him in his arms. For God's sake, this boy was going to give him grey hair.

« I want you to be examined, so you get in the ambulance and go to the hospital. » Bobby said.

He wanted to answer that everything was fine, but Buck crossed Eddie's terrified gaze, and abdicated. He went up to the front of the ambulance, which Hen was driving.

The ambulance returned to the house an hour before the end of the shift. Eddie, who had showered and changed, was walking in front of the locker room when Buck emerged from the back of the ambulance.

« I'm fine. » he reassured him. « I have a slight hematoma where I hit when the radio broke, but I'm fine. The doctor said I could work. »

« Here ! » Chimney threw an arnica tube at Eddie. « Put some on the hematoma once he's showered. It'll do him good. »

« Thank you ! » Eddie grabbed Buck by the hand and took him to the showers. « Take a shower. Right now ! »

Exhausted, Buck did not argue. He undressed and entered the shower stall. He washed himself meticulously, then went out wrapping a towel around his waist. He got dry, and put over part of his spare uniform. Sitting on the bench facing Eddie, he said nothing as Eddie passed from the arnica to the hematoma that adorned the right side of his torso.

« I'm fine, babe. » he reassured him.

Eddie wiped his hand with a towel, closed the ointment tube and helped Buck to fully dress up.

« Eddie... »

« No, shut up ! » he said. « I know you're fine, but don't say anything. I'm going to take you home, and you're going to promise me that the next time you go looking for a victim, you let me know before so I can follow you. »

With his throat tied in the face of the distress he was reading in his eyes, Buck nodded before luring him in for a long embrace. Eddie clung to him but refused to cry. Still, he wanted to.

« I love you ! » whispered Buck.

« I love you too ! »

The shift ended, and Bobby's team gave way to the second team. Sixteen long hours. They were all going to be able to go home after sixteen long hours on call, and a hearty breakfast prepared by Bobby. While taking them home, Eddie kept one hand on the steering wheel, and the other on Buck's thigh, removing him only to shift gears when necessary. He was sleepy. It was nine o'clock in the morning, and it was Thursday. Christopher was already at school, and Carla would pick him up. Eddie had sent her a message to tell her about their last difficult intervention without going into details, and she had agreed to pick up the boy from school when the time came. Well, because Eddie had every intention of keeping Buck in bed all day.

« What... what is... » Eddie parked behind Buck's Jeep, and couldn't believe what he saw. « Tell me I'm dreaming ? »

« Your parents ? » said Buck. « Did you know they were coming ? »

« No ! » replied Eddie. « Damn, this really isn't the time. »

Unbuckling his seatbelt, he took his phone and called his aunt, who picked up at the second bell.

« Eddie ? Shouldn't you be at work ? »

« I just got home with Buck, and my parents are waiting outside my house. »

« What ? »

« Did you know they were coming ? »

« Of course not, I would have told you, you know that. »

« I have... I need them to leave, Pepa. This is not the time I... we almost lost Buck last night and... »

« Dios mio*, tell me he's fine ! »

« Yes, he is with me. It wasn't a very serious thing, but it didn't take much and I'm not really in the mood to manage my parents. »

Especially since they still didn't know about Buck. He had planned to tell them this summer, when they were planning to spend a week in Los Angeles.

« I'm gonna call your grandmother and I'll be there in a few. Eddie, in the meantime, try not to get upset. »

« I can't promise you anything. »

He hung up and turned to Buck, royally ignoring the playful sign of his mother's hand from the porch.

« Would you do me a favour ? » he asked Buck. « Can you go straight to our room and let me handle this ? »

« Is that what you want ? » asked Buck.

« Yes. » Eddie replied. « I know them, and they're not going to go easy on me, but I'd rather you don't get caught in the crossfire. Especially since they might raise how bad I am for Christopher. »

Christopher was Buck's sensitive point, and he fully understood why Eddie didn't want him to be there when the situation will escalate.

« All right. » Buck said.

They got out of the car, picked up their bags, and Eddie went first.

« Mama, Dad ! » he greeted them, without much enthusiasm.

Especially since he was very tired.

« Oh, Eddie, you could be happier to see us. » said Helena, who kissed him.

He exchanged a simple handshake with his father as Buck passed him to open the door.

« Mr. and Mrs. Diaz ! » he greeted them. « You'll excuse me, but it's been a long night. »

He shared an overheard look with Eddie, then disappeared into the hallway. Putting his bag in the living room, Eddie waited until the bedroom door and the entrance door were closed before turning to his parents, who had put their own luggage near the sofa. Eddie forced himself to remain calm. If his parents thought they were going to stay here, they were wrong.

« Can I know what you're doing here ? » he asked. « And without warning me ? I do not have time to receive you, Christopher's at school, and I have just chained a sixteen-hour shift. »

« We didn't want to wait until this summer to see Christopher. » Helena replied. « We both missed you, and I was worried about you. »

« But I'm fine, Mom. » Eddie replied. « What's it like to disembark unexpectedly ? »

« Talk to us in a different tone ! » said Ramon. « We flew several hours, and the least you could do would be to welcome your parents with more respect. »

« Because you have it for me when you arrive at my house without telling me ? » Eddie couldn't believe it. « I guess you came here by taxi from the airport. Pepa will arrive, and she will take you to Abuela and... »

« But we'll be fine here. » says Helena. « We can help you with Christopher. Besides, where's your friend ? Evan, right ? »

« Buck, and he's in our room. » Eddie replied. « I don't need you here. »

« In your room ? »

And here we are ! Eddie had done it on purpose to see if his parents would pick up, and they did.

« Yes, ours. Buck lives here with Christopher and me. I have all the help I need. »

Helena noticed the changes in the living room, including many photo frames hanging on the wall or placed on the furniture. There was Shannon with Eddie and Christopher, Abuela, Pepa, Adriana and Sophia, Eddie's sisters, parents. But not just that. A series of photographs in particular caught her attention, and was placed on the mantelpiece. Photos of Christopher with Eddie and Buck, or pictures of Eddie... and Buck. But they didn't pose as mere friends. In a photo that had been taken a month earlier, they were all at the park for a picnic with the whole family of the 118. Eddie was sitting on a blanket, leaning against a tree with Buck, sitting between his legs. May was taking pictures of each couple, and when she reached them, Eddie had closed his arms around Buck and kissed him on the head. And this photo was framed and arranged in the couple's living room.

« Edmundo... »

Eddie realized the tone was going to heat up. He had prepared for this eventuality, and he was not going to let his parents denigrate him, or insult Buck, let alone use Christopher as leverage. He wouldn't allow it.

« What does that mean, » she asked, taking the frame in question and showing it to her husband.

« Eddie ? » said his father.

« Buck is my partner. » Eddie told them. « We're dating. »

« No ! » slammed Helena. « No ! You were not raised that way. »

Taking over the frame from his father's hands, Eddie put it back in his place and faced them again.

« That's the way it is. » he says, trying to control himself.

« No, it's not like that, Edmundo. » his mother hammered. « You're not gay, do you hear me ? »

« I never said I was. » says Eddie. « But I fell in love with my best friend, and I decided not to ignore my feelings. »

« You don't realize how much this relationship is... bad for Christopher. » Helena was furious, but she didn't scream. « He can't grow up in an environment like this. »

« Christopher is not your problem. » Eddie retorted.

« Well, yes, he is. » slammed Helena. « We are his grandparents, and we don't tolerate this... this filthy thing that's going on between you and this man. I don't want... »

« You have nothing to say. » interrupted Eddie. « You don't have a say. Neither you nor Dad have a say. »

« Eddie, it's not healthy. » Ramon interjected. « Christopher needs a mother, and if you hadn't taken him with you... »

« Again that old-fashioned thing ? » spat Eddie, who was beginning to lose patience. « You're going to reproach me again for refusing to leave my son with you when I left El Paso ? No, don't do it again with all the spiel you've been serving me for the last three years. »

Eddie was finding it harder and harder to control his anger, and if Pepa didn't hurry, it was going to end up really bad between him and his parents.

« Nothing I've done in my life has you satisfied. Yes, I screwed up with Shannon and Christopher when I joined the army, but I made up for it with Christopher and we have a better life here. Here he is not stifled by the two of you who prevent him from living and experiencing. »

« He's disabled, for God's sake ! » slammed Helena. « You can't... »

« I forbid you to tell me what I can do with my son or not. » he interruptes her brutally « Buck, Abuela, Pepa, and my team, my family are there to support me, unlike you and Dad who kept belittling me constantly. »

« Enough, Eddie » tempered Ramon. « You don't talk to us that way, and there's no way we're going to allowed you to raise Christopher with a life that's not normal. »

« And what are you going to do ? Take my son from me ? » Eddie challenged him. « I'd like to see you try. You think I didn't know this was going to happen when you found out about Buck ? But I know you, and I've been taking the lead, and it's been a long time. Buck is my trusted person. If anything were to happen to me, he would raise Christopher. »

« We're not going to let that go. » refused Helena. « The life you are determined to lead... »

« Doesn't concerns you ! » slammed Eddie, as the door opened on Josephina. « We could have discussed this quietly this summer, when you'd come for the holidays, but you had to show up this morning when I'm not in the mood. I almost lost Buck tonight and then, when I should be with him resting and recovering from the fear I had, I'm here to tell you that I don't care what you can think of me, or how I live my life. Christopher is my son, Buck is my partner, and he will be much more than that when the time comes. If you don't like it, you're free to go back to El Paso, and don't expect to see Chris and me again until you accept that I live my life as I see fit. »

He turned his back on them, knowing that Pepa was going to take over...

« Edmundo, come back here right now ! »

But he didn't listen anymore. He joined Buck in the room, slammed the door and sat on the bed. He took his head in his hands and let out a choked sob, but he quickly resumed shaking his head. No, he wasn't going to cry because of his parents. It was over the time when he was seeking their approval. He was going to live his life as he would. Taking off his shoes, he lay still dressing on the bed, and Buck, who was not sleeping, turned to him.

« Do you want to talk about it ? »

He had heard it all, Eddie understood it in the tone of his voice.

« Not really. » he replied. « My parents will never approve any of my choices, and I decided I didn't give a shit anymore. »

Turning his head towards Buck, Eddie smiles at him.

« It's only you and Christopher who count. » he says. « I know I would make mistakes, but I would never do the same as I did with Shannon. I would never leave because I would be afraid. »

« I know ! » said Buck. « We should... »

A knock at the door interrupted them. Eddie got up, and opened the door to see Pepa on the other side.

« Tell me they're gone ? »

« They're in my car. We'll take care of it with your grandmother. » Pepa reassured him. « Buck and you, rest. »

« Thank you, auntie ! »

He followed her when she went away, and he saw his mother near his aunt's car. Helena wanted to talk to him and advance towards him, but Eddie closed the door and locked it. No, if his parents did not accept his choices, his decisions, then he would have the least contact with them. Returning to the room, he undressed and joined Buck in bed.

He is awakened from his dreamless sleep by a mouth on his skin. Eddie mumbles Buck's name before opening his eyes.

« What are you doing ? »

« I take care of my man. »

Buck tickles his nipple with his tongue while sneaking a hand under the blanket and then under Eddie's underwear before grabbing his sex. Eddie grunts and moans at the same time, letting himself be shameless.

« Tell me what you want, Eddie ! »

« Your mouth ! » Buck kissed him, and their tongues danced against each other. « Um, suck me, Evan ! »

On the large sink in the bathroom, the phone rang. Eddie cut the water from the shower, wrapped himself in a towel and looked at who could call him. His mother again. He sighed but did not pick up. He was not yet willing to speak with his parents.

« Your mother ? » asked Buck, who entered the bathroom, whose door had remained ajar.

« Yeah ! » breathed Eddie. « Where's Christopher ? »

« He's doing his homework. » Buck approached and kissed him. « Don't worry about your parents, if they want to stay in your life and Chris's especially, they'll get used to it. »

« I don't really believe it, but thank you for believing it for me. »

Eddie dressed in shorts and a t-shirt before joining his men in the kitchen. Christopher was doing his homework while Buck was emptying the dishwasher.

« Are you done soon, my boy ? » asked Eddie before sitting next to his son.

« Yes ! »

It took him only a few minutes to finish his exercise. He put his things away.

« Dad ? »

« Yes ? »

« Why are you sad ? » asked Christopher. « Is it because Buck almost d… di… »

But Christopher doesn't finish his sentence. Buck had explained to Christopher - after Carla had said that the two men had a very difficult night - that he had come out in extremis from a burning house, before assuring him that he was fine, and that he would be more careful next time. Eddie felt his heart tighten.

« Yes, I'm sad because of that, but not just for that. » Eddie had decided not to hide his grandparents unexpected arrival from his son. « Your grandparents showed up this morning without telling me, and they don't like your daddy being with Buck. »

« They don't like Buck ? » says Christopher.

« They don't like me being in love with a man, because for them you need a mom, » Eddie explained, before taking a deep breath and continuing. Might as well tell him everything. « There are people who think that two men have no right to love each other. »

« But it's not true. » says Christopher.

« Yes, that's not true. » Eddie nodded. « You don't choose who you fall in love with, my boy. I didn't choose to fall in love with your Bucky, but it happened, and you know what ? »

« What ? »

« I've never been happier in my entire life than I've been since Buck came into our lives. » says Eddie, smiling. « And I promise you that he will never leave us. I would tie him to the bed if I had to. »

Christopher chuckled. Eddie looked up at Buck, who was holding back his tears.

« Are you getting married ? » the little boy suddenly asked.

« When the time comes, yes. » Eddie replied.

« Maybe I have a say, don't I ? » joked Buck.

« No ! » replied Eddie. « You're stuck with us forever. Right, Chris ? »

« Yes, forever ! »

« Okay, why don't we order a pizza to celebrate ? » said Buck. « I don't really want to cook tonight. »

« Yes, pizza ! » agreed Christopher. « Can we watch a movie ? Please ! »

« Okay ! » said Eddie. « But instead we're watching a cartoon, okay ? It's a school night. »

The little boy nodded. When the pizza arrived, the little family landed in front of the TV, and ate while watching an episode of Scooby-Doo. Christopher fell asleep for half of the third episode, so Eddie took him in his arms and took him to bed. Fortunately, he had showered and put on his pajamas before dinner. His phone started ringing again when he closed the door to his son's bedroom. Eddie did not answer, and put the device in Do Not Disturb mode, after sending a message to his aunt to warn her that he would not answer his phone until the next day. If Pepa or Abuela wanted to talk to him, they could always call Buck.

« I love you ! » said Eddie, cornering Buck against the fridge. « Do you know that ? »

« I know ! » said Buck, who then mumbled between kisses : « And I love you too. »

IT'S AN END !

*Spanish Lexicon:

- Buenos dias mi amor : Hello my love

- Dios mio : My God

I hope you liked this little three-part fiction as much as I liked to write it.

So I didn't linger on Eddie's parents, simply because I have other planned fictions where they'll appear and stick their noses into Eddie's business. I have to tell you that I don't like Diaz parents at all for the way they treat Eddie and Christopher. Pfff !

See you soon, and take care of yourself.
