The Factory
Outside the darkened night of the forest, a dim light shone through the thick branches and leaves. Going past the treeline and over below the vast cliff, the once-abandoned factory site was now lit up, with spotlights lighting up the darkened plains around. A few small patrols were walking around from time to time, although they were zombies. They were Foot Soldier Zombies, each armed with a Z-1 Assault Blaster, ready to blast anything that poses a risk to their operation. Suddenly, one Foot Soldier Zombie pauses and looks across the fence and into the darkened forest. He then squints his eyes to get a better view in the dark before widening his eyes in shock. A single green pea flies through holes in the damaged fence and strikes the Foot Soldier Zombie head, flying off its torso. In an instant, the fence broke down, with a barrage of charging plants, from Peashooters, Sunflowers, Melon-Pults, Cactus, and Chompers. Almost immediately, the Foot Soldier Zombie patrols were overwhelmed, mostly getting slain by the plants, allowing them to gain access to the entrance into the factory. Going over the wreckage of the fallen fence, both Nate and Patrice approached the entrance.
"That was surprisingly easy," Nate commented.
"Too easy," Patrice replied.
Nate nodded at her and turned back at the shut entrance. Nate grabbed the handle and attempted to open it, but was locked. Getting frustrated, he took both of his hands and shook it with all of his strength, but to no avail. Annoyed, Patrice pushed him aside, "Let me show you how it's done."
Then, she pointed both of his fingers at the metal door.
"Alright guys," Patrice commanded the Plants, "Fire everything you got at that door!"
Immediately, every Peashooter, Melon-Pults, and Cactus fire upon the factory doors. Each and every projectile effortfully placed large dents on its surface. Finally, they ceased fire as the door fell backward inside the factory with a thud. Once passing over the fallen door, both the Plant and the kids suddenly felt a cold sensation of their spine. The entrance was just an entry hallway illuminated with flickering lights all the way into an intersection. As they approached the intersection, there were rusted signs attached to the wall as faint alarm sound rang across the right hallway:
ASSEMBLY ROOM -
- DELIVERY ZONE
- STORAGE/WAREHOUSE
OFFICES -
Zomboss's Invention! (Do not notice this sign.) -
Patrice went closer to the signs and analyzed as the Plants split up and guarded either side of the hallways.
"Hey Patrice, isn't it strange that there are no zombies trying to stop us here?", Nate asked.
"Yeah, I've noticed Nate, but just past the Offices hallway and into the Warehouse, we might be able to find this new invention of Zomboss's," she said pointing at the poorly written sign.
"And then destroy it before he has a chance to use it against us," Nate finished.
Both Nate and Patrice looked away from the sign and began walking to the right hallway with the Plants behind them. As they passed through a slightly opened wooden door, the reader's view stopped in front of the door and moved inside through the small crack. Inside the room, multiple sirens rang loudly across the vast room full of flashing security monitors, with a red light shining across the monitors. Going closer to one cracked screen, a warning icon appeared reading:
-WARNING: ENTIRE PLANT ARMY HAVE INVADED AREA: ACTIVATING PROTOCOL 1987-
After traveling through the dark, empty hallways, the group reached the entrance of the Storage room. Both saw up ahead in the middle of the room was a figure, wearing a laboratory vest, and blackish pants running down to his boots. Although it was his head that gave out his appearance, his head was larger than ordinary. It was Zomboss, who was grinning at his hands on his back. Both Nate and Patrice passed through the doorway, before coming face-to-face with their nemesis.
"Well, well, well. I've been expecting you, not quite so early although," Zomboss said, still grinning evilly.
Nate looked around the cramped storage room after Zomboss finished. There were loads of crates and a metallic walkway above them, leading to another office. Behind him, the Plants were looking back at the away from the doorway and guarding the hallway. Looking behind Zomboss were some unfinished robotic endoskeleton, standing deactivated in front of the window, which was sealed shut by a door. The endoskeleton itself was composed of many mechanical parts and animatronic devices including wiring, eye and mouthpieces, moving limbs and digits, and voice boxes, all of which come together to make a bipedal humanoid animatronic. Noticing that this was probably one of Zomboss's unfinished inventions, Nate turned to Zomboss and pointed his finger at him.
"Ha! You're not even finished with your so-called "weapon!", Nate teased the mad genius.
"It's over Zomboss, whatever plan you're doing in here has failed!", Patrice yelled triumphantly.
Zomboss then began walking around them, still grinning evilly at them as he spoke, "Oh, I may have lost, but there was something that I've learned from my mistakes."
He continued, "You see, the only reason why I couldn't take over Neighborville is because of my priorities. I've only had this intention of total domination over this town, but there would always be someone to command this resistance and repel my dreams. So, I'll devise my own evil plan, to kill my most hated rivals commanding this resistance," he then finally finished pacing around them and pointed his fingers at the duo while smiling evilly, "You two."
Both Nate and Patrice suddenly felt the same cold sensation of their spine, only this time, it was much worse.
Nate gulped and spoke, "Well...yeah, us. But what are you going to do with an army of plants behind us?"
Looking behind Zomboss's back, in his hands was a remote control with a single button with both buttons on the top and the bottom labeled DOOR. He pressed the top button and suddenly sent a metallic door crashing down sealing off the doorway between the duo and the Plants. The thudding sound made Nate and Patrice jump before turning back towards the shut doorway. Realizing what's going on, the two ran for the metallic door and tried to lift it up with their hands, unfortunately, it didn't even budge. Nate and Patrice both got up and stared at Zomboss with their fists tightened. Zomboss then revealed the remote control in front of them; now as slowly smirked and grinned in evil.
"Okay...just you and us. But you and what army?", Nate exclaimed.
"This army."
Zomboss hovered his finger over the bottom button and pressed it. Suddenly, the lights started to flicker, both Nate and Patrice looked above at the exploding light bulbs before looking down back to where Zomboss was, now gone. Just in seconds, all the lights went out except for a pair of red lights illuminating a metallic door retreating up and opening up the glossy window. Nate and Patrice held their fists up as they heard an unlikely grinding of gears coming closer, ready to engage it. Suddenly, the lights activate inside the darkroom, illuminating three figures and causing the kids to look in awe as they lower their fists.
In the middle was a light brown animatronic bear; wearing a black bow tie and black top hat. On accompanied with the bear was a purple bunny and a yellow duck holding a cupcake. Suddenly, their cartoonish eyes became glossy-black with a single white dot staring menacingly at the two. Finally, the endoskeleton in front of them twitched before moving its head up towards the kids. Its jaws snapping open and closed, ready to kill as the lights in the entire room went dark, as a strange voice that was very deep and a bit glitchy spoke.
"It looks like someone wasn't ready for Fr-Freddy to come to the p-party!"
