"What the hell?" Ranger turned and looked at Tank and Lester.

"Not sure what's going on boss." Tank said.

"I'll go find someone." Les said as he started walking down the aisle.

A few minutes later, Les came back down the aisle smiling.

"What happened?" Ranger barked.

"They didn't get married."

"What?!"

"The priest said they got to the part about objecting and both the bride and groom raised their hands. Come on, I know where they are. The priest said they made an announcement that they were still going to have the reception and celebrate their decision."

Joe and Stephanie were standing at the bar.

"Cheers! To us not being husband and wife." Joe held up his glass to Stephanie.

"Cheers." Stephanie clinked glasses with Joe.

"So who's mom is going to be mad longer?" Joe asked.

"Oh, definitely mine hands down."

"I don't know. When my mom finds out I'm quitting the police force to be with Terry, I think she'll be mad longer."

"Yeah, but at least you'll be with someone. My mom is going to hate that I'm single."

"Sorry Cupcake. Why don't you date Lester? He kind of looks like Ranger. The family resemblance." Stephanie hit Joe.

"Seriously Joe!"

"I just want you to be happy Steph."

"I will. Maybe. One day. But I have to get over Ranger first. I'm glad you have Terry. I don't feel as guilty about all this." Stephanie waved her hand at the party going on around them.

"Nothing to feel guilty about Cupcake. I went along with all of it. It was easier than the truth."

"We are so messed up." Joe pulled Stephanie into a hug.

"We both will be fine." Joe's phone buzzed in his pocket. "It's Terry. Do you mind if I head out?"

"Not at all." Joe kissed Stephanie's check. "Tell Terry I said hello."

Joe walked out the door of the hall when the black SUV pulled up.

Ranger got out of the back seat. Joe walked up to him.

"Holy fuck you're alive."

"I am."

"If you hurt her again like that or any other way, I'll kill you." Ranger nodded.

"I'm done working for the government."

"Good. Go make our girl happy." Joe stuck out his hand. Ranger took it and shook it. Joe nodded at Tank and Les and left.

Ranger, Tank and Les all walked into the hall together. Ranger was scanning the hall looking for his Babe.

Stephanie was standing by the bar talking to Mary Lou.

"I can't believe you guys called it off." Mary Lou stated.

"Well since Joe decided to quit the force, he can be with Terry. No reason for us to both be miserable." Stephanie started to rub the back of her neck. She was feeling a tingle sensation. I must be imagining Ranger would be watching me from a far on a day like today.

"Well hopefully we can find you someone not to be miserable with." Steph rolled her eyes at her best friend.

"There are worse things than being single." Mary Lou noticed everyone turning to stare at the doorway.

"Um, Steph, I think you need to see this." Mary Lou, took Stephanie's arm and started to turn her around.

Steph continued to rub her neck as Mary Lou was moving her. "Is my Grandmother doing…"

Stephanie's voice trailed off as her eyes locked with Ranger's across the room. "It can't be."

Mary Lou gave Stephanie a little push forward. "If you are hallucinating, everyone here is too."

Everyone moved as Stephanie made her way to the center of the room. She was now standing in the middle of the dance floor.

"Well what are you waiting for?" Les asked Ranger.

Ranger started to walk forward. He stopped at the edge of the dance floor.

"I thought you were dead."

"Sorry about that, Babe."

"When did you get back?"

"About 15 minutes ago. Then Santos and Tank told me we had a wedding to stop. My surprise when got to the church and there was nobody there."

"You went to the church?"

"Babe." Stephanie couldn't stand the distance between them anymore. She had thankfully had taken off her heels as soon as they got to the hall. She lifted up her dress and ran to Ranger who engulfed her in his arms.

"I've missed you."

"I've missed you too, Babe. I won't be leaving you again."

Stephanie looked into his eyes. "Promise?"

"Forever." He leaned in and kissed her and everyone in the hall started cheering.
