The next day Hanna woke up to her phone ringing. Expecting it to be Sean she sat up and looked only to see it was aria.

"Hello?" Hanna sighed tiredly.

"Hey did you leave early last night? We saw Sean but didn't see you?" Aria asked.

"Yeah, I did... I hung out with Mona cause Sean was too busy playing his game. I left eventually." Hanna lied. She wasn't completely lying, right? Sean was playing his game.

"Okay well I was thinking we all could-" aria was interrupted by Ezra.

"Hey, have you seen my laptop?"

"It's not in the car?" Aria asked.

Hanna heard a knock on her door. She turned to see her mom.

"I gotta go Aria," Hanna called and hung up without waiting for an answer. She looked at her mom and smiled. "Hey."

Ashley smiled "I made you some coffee and I have some news."

Hanna just nodded and followed her mom to the kitchen.

There was a steaming cup of coffee. Hanna sat at the island " so what's the news? Did you get promoted?"

Ashley just smiled " I wish. It's about Tom."

Hanna's face went a frown. " What does he want? Did he ditch his new family?" She asked bitterly.

"Actually they're having a fancy anniversary dinner, and you and a Date is supposed to go." Ashley sipped her coffee.

"What? Why? I don't want to go!" She frowned at her mom.

"Sorry Han, you're going. You haven't seen your dad in about 2 years?" she guessed grabbing her phone.

"And that's his fault. He doesn't answer calls or anything from me unless it's to yell at me or lecture me." Hanna scoffed folding her arms.

The only time he ever really came around is to yell at her about grades and once shoplifting. Otherwise, he never called or show up to anything.

"Well, maybe this can open doors for you," Ashley said trying to be optimistic for Hanna's sake.

"Wait you aren't going? Didn't he invite you?" Hanna asked.

"He did but I told him I have to work. Only you will be going. But don't worry you'll have Sean." She answered putting the mug that she was drinking her coffee out of in the sink.

Hanna just sighed. She didn't want to go and now she has to find a date. She didn't know where she and Sean stood at the moment. She needed to use today to think about what she wanted.

Sean was making her revert to her bad habits. He thought something was wrong with her. What other reason was there?

" Okay I have to go or I'm going to be late for work." Ashley grabbed her purse next to her on the island and walked to her daughter, she kissed her cheek before heading out the door with a 'love you!'

Hanna sighed and went back upstairs to her room.

The next day at school Hanna went straight to her friends.

She sat with them deep in her thoughts. " hey Hanna." The girls greeted.

"Hi." Hanna sighed.

"What's wrong?" Spencer asked next to Toby.

"Nothing I'm just tired didn't get a lot of sleep last night," Hanna said.

She wasn't exactly lying. She was kept up later than usual cause of her thoughts.

"Well lucky for you I brought everyone coffee from the brew," Emily said handing Hanna a coffee.

Hanna looked at the table and just now seeing the coffee cups. She saw an extra coffee cup and was confused.

"Who's cup is that? Spencer's?" Hanna joked. Spencer had this coffee addiction. It was like every day She had to have 3 cups of coffee.

"Hey! I actually decreased my coffee intake by 8 percent thank you very much." Spencer glared jokingly.

"It's Caleb but he left a little before you came. Someone came to talk to him about phones." Aria said talking for the first time since greeting Hanna. She was too busy on her phone. Probably texting Ezra.

Hanna just rolled his eyes "that's not shocking at all."

Soon the bell rang signaling everyone to go to their 1st-period classes.

Emily took Caleb's cup and handed it to Hanna. "Can you give this to Caleb since you have a class with him?" She asked. Hanna screwed her nose up "do I have to?"

Emily just nodded which made Hanna sigh "fine".

Hanna stood up and looked towards the cafeteria doors and saw Sean looking at her before looking away. He walked out the door with Noel and Ben.

When she arrived to her class she took her seat next to Mona.

She placed the 2 coffees on her desk.

"One of those for me?" Mona asked putting her lipgloss on.

"Nope for the new kid," Hanna said looking at Mona's new lipstick.

"What was his name again cale? Cole?" Mona closed her mirror facing Hanna.

"Caleb," Hanna informed her.

"I see you ditched jungle red. It was a good color on you." Hanna added referring to her lipstick.

Mona just shrugged "Yeah, but this color is better. Plus I saw Jenna Marshall wearing it and I wanted to barf."

Hanna laughed at Mona's words.

Soon Caleb walked into the class.

"Caleb!" Hanna called out.

Caleb look to see Hanna holding out his coffee. He walked over to grab his coffee, his fingers accidentally brushing against hers. She didn't know why her heart sped up. She also didn't know why she felt a shock where he touched her.

She looked at Caleb to see him making a surprised face before masking it. " Thanks." Was all he said before walking to his seat.

"Hanna! What was that!" Mona whispered yelled to Hanna.

"What was what" Hanna answered trying to act nonchalant.

"Don't play dumb blonde with me Han, we both know you're smart! You guys had a moment!" Mona smiled.

Hanna just blushed. "Oh my god, you like him!" Mona squealed.

"Shut up!" Hanna said so nobody heard. " and I do not like him! I don't know what that was."

"I do and what that was is the universe telling you who your soulmate was! And you might not like him now but you will." Mona said knowingly.

Hanna just rolled her eyes "you have to stop reading those novels."

"I'm being serious Hanna. You have a triangle now. What are you gonna do with Sean?"

The mention of her boyfriend's name made her sigh "actually I don't know." Hanna sighed.

Mona noticed Hanna's mood dampened "what's wrong what happened?"

"Well-"

"Wait, Ms.Harwell? Can Hanna and I go to the bathroom it's an emergency!" Mona asked.

The teacher looked up from her desk "one of you can go."

"But she has my feminine products." Mona smiled sweetly.

The teacher sighed "fine but hurry back.

When they got to the bathroom Hanna immediately told mona what happened at the party.

"You threw up," Mona said sadly.

Hanna nodded disappointment filling her gut.

"Look Hanna Marin you are too good for him. Any guy at school would jump at the opportunity to do anything with you. You don't need him. Who the hell is he to tell you aren't good enough? Or can't even communicate properly. He should be lucky your giving him interest anyways. He's not good for you mentally or emotionally. I had to learn the same with Noel." Mona told Hanna meaning every word.

Mona and Noel had an on-and-off relationship during their junior year. She finally stopped falling for his games and moved on. Even though it was hard.

"I was thinking about breaking up with him but I just wanted to hear his side," Hanna said.

"Just know your worth. You are better than him. Okay? Remember what I said." Mona told her.

Soon lunch came and Hanna knew what she had to do. She walked to Sean's locker hoping to see him there and he was, hanging out with his friends.

Sean noticed Hanna and turned to her. "Hi, Hanna."

"We need to talk." She said getting to the point.

Sean nodded and walked down the hall where they had privacy.

"Look all I want you to be is honest with me. I get not having sex. But any physical touch from me seems to freak you out? Is it me?"

Sean just sighed "I like aria and Alison."

"Wh-what?" Hanna said taken aback.

" I like your friends and I know it's not fair. I thought I would get over them when I dated you but it didn't. Plus I don't want to have sex cause I'm in this club. It's religious and I can't have sex." He informed her.

Hanna just gaped "so this whole time you pretended to like me?"

"No I did like you and I still do. I just don't feel right, I don't want to use you. I honestly like you a lot and I want to date you." Sean told her.

Hanna just shook her head "I can't believe you." Her eyes began watering.

"Look when I get myself together I promise I can fully give myself to you but-" he tried.

"No. We're over Sean. Leave me alone." She said storming away from him.

Sean wanted to follow but he knew she needed her friends and not him. So he went to his friends feeling bad about Hanna.

Hanna went to her friends ignoring Caleb and Toby.

"I need you guys," Hanna said trying not to let the tears fall. The girls got up and immediately headed to the bathroom concerned about their best friend.

Mona was in the bathroom fixing her hair when a tearful Hanna entered the bathroom with her 4 friends following behind.

Mona faced Hanna "what's wrong Han ?" She asked concerned.

Hanna didn't answer right away she just cried.

After she controlled her tears she explained the conversation that previously happened with Sean.

Aria felt horrible for Hanna. She didn't even know Sean. They've never had a conversation besides her asking for math homework in freshman year.

"I'm so sorry Hanna I don't know why he would like me. I never even talked to him." Aria said sad and confused.

"It's okay. It's not your fault." Hanna sniffed.

"Don't worry you deserved better anyway Hanna," Emily said hugging her.

"Yeah, he's a huge shit bag you don't need him," Spencer said.

"I swear I'm gonna-" Mona started angrily but got interrupted by Hanna.

"Don't. It's fine I don't need him anyway. I'll get better." Hanna said pulling away from Emily wiping her tears. She went to the mirror and fixed her makeup.

After 5 more minutes of Hanna being comforted by her friends they soon left the bathroom.

Mona went to hang out with her other friends while Hanna and the other three went back to the table with the two guys.

"Is everything okay?" Toby asked concerned.

"Yeah, Hanna." smiled masking how she really felt.

She sat at her desk wanting to go home.

She was so into her thoughts she didn't even know Caleb sat in his assigned seat next to her.

"Hello, class! Welcome back to the best class English. Now today we will be having a project. Now the project is to write a story about your life with visuals. That goes as family pictures, pictures of schools, or even yourselves right now. But there is a twist, you will be working with a partner. So you both will be combining your autobiography and after how each other affected each other's lives and what impact your partner had." Mr.Sharpe stated excitedly.

Everyone else however wasn't enthusiastic.

The teacher just cleared his throat "now before you guys start pestering me about partners. I already decided the person to your left is your partner and before your ask, no you cannot ask to switch. And that means you will have to spend time with this person so you can see what impact they left on your life and for your autobiography's to be combined. Lie and I will give you a 0 and you will fail this semester. " He added the last part annoyed.

Hanna felt her stomach sink as the person to her left was no other than Caleb Rivers.

He looked at her and gave her a smirk and she gave him a glare.

"So partner are you gonna write a novel about Justin Bieber's hair or actually take this seriously?" He said leaning back and folding his arms with that taunting smirk on his lips.

Hanna's glare deepened "if you are saying just because I like Justin Bieber means I can't take a project seriously you're wrong, And you don't know anything about Justin's hair."

Usually, anyone would run away or cower over her hostile attitude but Caleb just seemed to be amused by it.

He just put both his hands up in surrender.

Hanna rolled her eyes and spent the rest of her class period writing. Or at least trying. What would she write about? Her family's divorce? Her eating disorder? How she use to be fat? But hey at least her thoughts were keeping away from Sean.

Plus she had to work with him. She snuck a glance at Caleb and he looked bored.

"Are you okay? With the situation at lunch." He said awkwardly.

Hanna was taken aback. She didn't think he cared.

"I uh- yeah... I'm okay." She said awkwardly.

He just nodded but she knew he didn't believe her.

The bell rang shortly after that and they left the class.

Nearly a week went by since the break up with Sean it was Friday night and it was another party.

Hanna was wearing a black tight dress that showed off her frame. It also had a small slit going up both thighs that were mesh.

She had her hair in bouncy curls with her makeup done in a simple way. Emily, Aria, herself, and Spencer walked through the doors of the Noel khan party. Hanna followed her friends until they saw Toby. However, she was surprised when she saw Caleb.

After a while of talking with the others trying to forget everything on her mind, she wanted to drink.

She left to where the drinks were and got one. But unfortunately, someone saw and headed her way.

"Hey, Hanna," Sean said rubbing the back of his neck.

Hanna turned around with a drink in her hand. She frowned at the sight of him.

"Hi." Was all she said. She spent 3 days crying and dealing with her emotions before she got herself back up. After pep talks from all her friends, she realize that she did deserve better than him. She wanted love and something physical and he couldn't give him that.

"Can I talk to you in private?" He asked her.

She just sighed and followed him not seeing Caleb walking by looking at the two curiously.

A/N: this is probably my fastest update ever LMFAOOO. I'm trying so hard to distract myself from my stupid life that I'm writing this story like crazy. And I'm sorry I kinda lied but I didn't want Hanna and Caleb to be rushed so you WILL be seeing more haleb next chapter. And something big happens next chapter.
