"What do you want Sean." Hanna sighed. She didn't want to talk to him. She couldn't believe that she thought she could love someone like him.

"I just wanted to make sure you were okay." He said putting his hands in his pocket.

"Yeah, I'm fine." She sipped her drink. She wanted to leave already.

"Hanna I do want us to go out again in the future. I meant when I said I really liked you." He explained with hope in his eyes.

"But I meant what I said about us being over. I don't want to give you a chance or anything. You aren't worth my time Sean." She said finally getting off what she had been wanting to get off her mind for days now.

Sean was surprised at what Hanna said.

"Now goodbye Sean." She said turning to walk away.

"Wait Hanna just listen to me." He said grabbing her arm.

"Let go of me." She said trying to pull her arm away but Sean wouldn't let go.

"Hanna if you just-" Sean started but was interrupted.

"you heard her, get the hell off!" A strong voice commanded.

She looked over to see Caleb looking at Sean with a fixated glare.

Sean let go of Hanna's arm and glared just as fierce " mind your business, phone boy before you get hurt."

"No you learn how to listen cause right now I'm seeing a scumbag who's begging to get their ass kicked and I might arrange that for you." Caleb walked towards Sean.

However, Hanna got in his way "stop! It's not worth it. Let's just go." She told Caleb. Caleb listened to Hanna and walked away with her.

Sean watched them walk away with a strong glare.

When the two were far from Sean, Hanna turned to Caleb.

"Thank you..." she trailed off not knowing what to say. He just shrugged "your welcome, if he bothers you again just let me know. I'll take care of him."

"Well I can handle myself and I don't want you to get in trouble even if you're a pain in the ass in my class." Hanna joked trying to make the situation a little lighter.

Caleb just chuckled at that " ah well trouble seems to have a way to find me, Princess."

Hanna just snorted "Princess?" Where the hell did he get that name from.

"You heard me. Princess." He smirked.

Before she could retort Emily walked up to them. "There you guys are! I was looking for you guys. Lucas is doing a drinking dare!" She said pulling Hanna towards the group.

Caleb just followed thinking about the blonde in front of him.

On Wednesday Hanna was sitting at Emily's house. She sat in her bed while Emily telling her more about Mya.

"She wanted to hang out with me this weekend at the movie theater but I'm not sure if I should go," Emily told her best friend.

"Why not?" Hanna asked. She remembered Emily telling her that Alison was acting differently when Mya was around her.

"Well, Alison wanted to hang out with me also," Emily informed her friend.

"Can't you just reschedule?" Hanna asked grabbing her phone looking at the time. It was 8:00 pm and she was wondering if she should Emily to stay the night.

They both heard knocking before Emily could reply. "Hey, Emily? You have someone here, she said her name is Mya:" Emily's mom opened her door.

Emily smiled calmly at her mom trying to contain her excitement "I'll be there in a second."

When her mom was gone Hanna squealed "go! go! Maybe this will clear up any questions!"

Emily had a big smile on her face "are you sure? I don't want to leave you here."

"No, it's okay! I'll just go! And I'll just use your laptop."

"Okay, my laptop is... wait where is my laptop?" Emily asked putting her jacket on.

Hanna looked around and didn't see it.

"Didn't you have it at school today?" Hanna asked remembering that Emily had it at lunch.

"Damn it, it's in my locker, do you want me to get it?" Emily asked.

"No, I'll get it! Go have fun." Hanna said putting her heels on and grabbing her bag.

"You sure?" Emily asked again.

"Yes!! Now go have fun!" Hanna laughed pushing Emily out the door.

Hanna sat in her room making sure she had everything and that Emily was gone before she headed out the door. She waved goodbye to Pam before heading to the school.

When she arrived she walked to the entrance and opened the door. The school was dark and empty. She grabbed her phone out of her purse and turned her flash on so she could see.

She made her way to Emily's locker and opened it. She saw her laptop but it had a sticky note on it.

"Grab new English book for Mr.Potters class"

Hanna remembered Emily saying she forgot Mr.potters book. She grabbed the laptop and closed the locker door.

Should I get it for her? I mean it's the least I can do right?

She headed towards the library going to the back of the library where the English section was.

She was looking for the book when she heard a weird noise behind her. She turned and didn't see anything. She turned back to the bookshelf now anxious to get out of the school.

Then she heard a loud noise behind her she jumped and turned around. She saw a faint light in the vent. She hesitantly walked towards it and saw a cell phone.

She looked at it questioningly and set Emily's laptop down on the table near her and tried to pull the vent off. After a little, she successfully got it off. She it her phone up so she can see in the vent better. She saw a phone, a sleeping bag, a familiar backpack, and a wad of cash.

She picked up the cash looking at it.

She was shocked, it had to be at least 500 in her hand.

Soon she heard a door open from the other side of the library. She froze quickly turning off her flashlight. There wasn't any noise. She prayed whoever it was couldn't hear her loud, rapid heartbeat.

Then she heard fast footsteps heading towards her. Hanna didn't even think, she quickly grabbed Emily's laptop, forgetting she had money in her hand, and ran away towards the door. She heard footsteps behind her but that only made her run faster with fear.

She ran to the other exit that was closer and tried to push open the door but it wouldn't budge. It was locked. She began freaking out as she heard the footsteps came closer.

She turned to face whatever was coming and quickly dug in her purse for something she could use as a weapon.

All she found was car Keys and hair spray. She grabbed the hair spray and looked up to see a person in a black hoodie, black jeans, and converse. She couldn't see the person's face but they were tall.

"Stay back!" Hanna called out.

The person seemed to relax and walked forward. Hanna screamed and sprayed the hair spray to the person's face.

"Agghh!" A male voice yelled backing away from Hanna.

The person turned to Hanna rubbing their eyes "what the hell Hanna!"

She immediately froze "Caleb?"

"No shit!" He snapped trying to make his eyes stop burning.

"Why the hell are you chasing me like a fucking lunatic serial killer!" Hanna snapped.

"Cause you took my money!" He snapped back.

Hanna looked down realizing that she still had the money in her hand.

She reached out to give him back his money. He snatched it back clearly still peeved about being sprayed.

"Oh calm down it was light hold!" She said rolling her eyes

Caleb just scoffed and headed back to the library. Hanna stood there for a second before deciding to follow.

"So that was all your stuff in the vent?" Hanna asked curiously.

"Yup." He said putting his money back in the vent.

"Why do you have a sleeping bag in there? Did you run away from home?" Hanna questioned.

"Something like that But I live here. It has water, food, and a bathroom so I'm fine here." Caleb sighed facing her with folded arms.

"Does the school know you're here?"

"No, and I intend for it to stay that way." He said looking at her hoping she wouldn't tell anyone.

"I won't tell anyone... wait so does that mean nobody knows?"

"You're the only one Han. So let's not tell anyone." He said rubbing a hand through his hair.

Hanna opened her mouth to ask another question but Caleb stopped her " no more questions at least for tonight?"

Hanna kept her mouth shut and nodded.

"Sorry for spraying you and taking your money, I honestly didn't mean to take it." She said scratching slightly embarrassed.

"It's okay...but why were you at the school? It's like 8:30 pm." He asked confused.

"I was trying to get Emily's laptop but then I saw she needed a boon from the library so I wanted to get it for her." Hanna shrugged.

He just nodded "I'm just glad you didn't have a taser in there."

Hanna snorted "I will next time."

He just shook his head "see you tomorrow and thanks for not telling anyone."

"No problem." She said with a small smile. When she left she couldn't help but look back.

A few days in the morning she drove to school and walked on the campus but she saw Caleb by the trash.

"What's going on?" She said watching him pull a backpack and a sleeping bag out of the trash.

"The janitor found my stuff." He sighed looking at his food-covered sleeping bag. Throwing it away he walked away.

"Wait so what does this mean now?" Hanna called after him.

"What does what mean?" He looked at her.

"Like where are you gonna stay now." She asked him.

"I'm not sure but don't worry about it, I'll figure it out." He said with a shrug.

As he walked away she knew that she had to help.

"Caleb!" She said jogging to catch up with him.

He faced her once more and looked at her questioning. "Why don't you come to my house?"

Caleb looked at Hanna surprised "well that's nice and all but I don't think your mom is gonna let me stay there. Don't worry I'll figure it out."

Hanna folded her arms "she doesn't have to know and you can have your own space in my basement, it's not as gross as it sounds. Plus there's a bed and you can use anything you want. just not when my mom's around, but she's barely home anyway." She told him.

"Hanna it's oka-"

"I'm not taking no for an answer. Meet me after school so I can take you to my house. My mom won't be home so don't worry." She said before walking away.

All-day during her classes she had her mind on Caleb.

Caleb just wouldn't leave her mind. Especially when he didn't show up to any of his classes. He wasn't even at lunch.

"Hey, Toby?" Hanna asked him.

He turned from talking to Emily and gave her his full attention while Emily began talking to aria and Spencer conversation.

"What do you know about Caleb?" She hesitated.

"Why? Do you like him?" He smiled.

She just rolled her eyes "no! He's just my partner in my English class. Plus he's in our friend group and I don't really know anything about him."

"Mm, well I can't tell you much, he's really funny and pretty caring in a way." He shrugged.

"That's it?" Hanna asked wanting to know more.

"I just met him like two weeks ago." He said putting his hands up in surrender.

She just sighed. Guess I'll have to find out myself.

After school, she waited at her car. She hoped he'd be there but her hopes went down as she saw nothing but her car.

What was she kidding why would he want to live with her?

"Hanna. I'm uh- ready to go..." Calebs voice said behind her.

She jumped looking at him " will you stop scaring me!" She snapped.

He just smirked and headed to the passenger seat.

She unlocked the doors and both of them proceeded to get into the car.

Hanna soon started the car and drive. The drive was quiet. Nobody said a word and the thing they heard was Hanna's Taylor Swift music.

"Why do you want to help me?" He asked quietly.

Why did she want to help?

Hanna just shrugged "I don't know. I think you aren't that bad and don't deserve to be sleeping outside of a house."

Caleb just nodded ending the conversation.

Soon they arrived at her house. She got out of the car with him following her.

She opened the door walking in while Caleb walked in looking around in awe. The houses he were use to were ran down, are we're filled with a lot of kids.

She brought him upstairs showed him everything he needed to know.

Her mom's room and not to ever go in there. The bathroom that was open upstairs and her room if he needed anything.

She showed him the kitchen, living room, and finally where he was staying in the basement.

The basement wasn't what he was expecting. He was expecting a room full of junk. But it wasn't cluttered and it had a spare mattress and down there. It looked expensive. Hanna went to the boxes and gave him a towel and blankets and pillows.

" my mom doesn't like coming down here so when she's here, stay down here and be quiet. I'll bring you food and stuff and I'll come to you to tell you when she's gone. I've told you her working schedule so don't worry..." she explained grabbing her phone out of her pocket " give me your number."

Caleb looked confused but did as was told.

"That way if you need to tell me anything you won't risk getting cause just text me or call." She smiled.

Caleb nodded processing everything she told him.

"Anyways my mom won't be here till like 7?" You want some takeout?"
