Trigger Warning: slight gore and death is mention. Don't worry, it's not insanely detailed or anything. Just wanted to make that clear.

I think that this story is K but because of the mention above, I don't know if it is K or T. If you think it's supposed to be T, please do let me know and I'll change the rating. I don't want to have my story be the wrong rating. This is my first story and I'm still learning as I go.

"CHASE!!!" Skye quickly ran over to the side of the cliff and looked down. Chase was barely hanging onto an old, not so sturdy, branch growing on the side of the cliff. He was constantly pushing himself up, trying get a better grip on the branch. But other than that, he was okay. But the same couldn't be said for Mabel. She laid on the ground, her body all crooked and a little pool of blood was forming around her. It was a nauseating sight.

"Don't worry Chase! I'll get my helicopter!"

"Hurry!" His paws slipped and he nearly lost his grip.

Skye sprinted towards the Lookout. This was the fastest she had ever ran. And she didn't dare to slowed down, even if the Lookout was about two and a half miles away. The fate of her friend literally rests in her four little paws.

'This is all my fault. If I didn't run away, Chase wouldn't be in this situation. I hope he would still like me after this...well if I can get to him in time.'

A bit of time later, the Lookout came into her view.

Back with Ryder, he was on the Lookout's balcony. He was there just in case his two pups returned. While he was looking around, he spotted a Golden Cockapoo dashing out of the woods.

"Is that? SKYE!" Ryder ran over to his fireman's pole and slid down. Once he got to the bottom, he opened the garage door and ran outside to meet his pup.

He picked her up and squished her in his arms with his hug "Skye! I was so worried! We all were so worried. There's this huge search party going on. Even Chase ran after you."

Skye would have gratefully accepted the hug, but every second counts. She desperately tried to wiggle out of his grasp, reaching for her puphouse.

Her reaction to the hug puzzled him. "What's wrong Skye?" He had a worried tone in his voice.

"Chase! Needs help! Quickly!" Skye was finally able to squeeze out of her owner's arms and ran towards her puphouse.

She stopped in front of her puphouse and grabbed her puptag, placing it around her neck. She then transformed her puphouse into her helicopter and took off above the forest.

After Skye took off in her chopper, Ryder came out of his garage with his ATV and followed behind.

This was the fastest Skye has ever flown her helicopter, she never made it go at maximum speed. She just had to get to the cliff as soon as possible.

Chase was hanging on for dear life, every now and then the branch would shift, making his heart pound harder every time. The weak, unstable branch was barely able to hold this German Shepherd's weight.

'What did I ever do to get into this situation?'

He kept struggling, trying stay on the branch, until he heard something. He heard a miracle.

Skye made it, she reached the cliff. She activated her camera on the bottom of the helicopter and turned on her screen (the screen is in the dashboard next to the yoke. I think the show uses a yoke but it really should be a cyclic stick because it is a helicopter. The camera is so she can see where to place her hooks and harness's).

She dropped her harness and activated her puptag. "Don't worry Chase, just grab the harness. I'll try to get it as close to you as I can."

"Oh Skye, you have no clue how relived I am that your here!" Chase responded though his puptag.

Skye constantly tried to make the harness get closer to Chase without making enough wind to break the branch, and Chase was struggling to reach the rope but it was still no use.

Skye turned her head to face her yoke to try to get closer.

After what seemed like forever

...CRACK...

Skye froze. That horrid sound replayed in her head over and over again. That branch was the only thing keeping Chase from falling to his death. Hesitant, she shakily shifted her eyes to the screen, imagining a horrific vision of seeing Chase on the ground, next to that horrible spaniel. Skye had never felt such an extreme switch of emotions. The Shepherd was barely hanging onto her harness with his mouth.

Slowly, Skye made her helicopter go up. Once they reached the top of the cliff, Chase had let go of her harness about two feet above from the ground. Once Skye landed her chopper, she jumped off and rushed over to Chase and gave him a huge hug, which Chase couldn't turn down.

After a while, they separated, they looked into each others eyes. Skye's eyes were starting to get moist, she couldn't stop the tears rolling down her cheeks. She rested her head on his chest, dampening his fur, but he didn't care. He gently rubbed her back with one of his paws and let out soft shushes, trying to comfort her, which worked. Although Chase was comforting her, she still couldn't stop her little sobs. This was so much for her to handle. In just two days, she was insulted, her self esteem was damage, she got hurt both emotionally and physically, she nearly lost Chase, and now...it was just too much for a little pup like her.

Skye's crying eventually ceased. She lifted her head back up to lock eyes with him.

"I don't know what Mabel told you, but I'm sure whatever she said, it's a lie. You are so loved, by many. Not just those in the PAW Patrol, but throughout Adventure Bay and beyond. Trust me when I say that." Chase said with a soft, quiet voice that couldn't be heard from a foot away.

Skye couldn't help but smile a bit. She stood on her hind legs, and wrapped her forelegs around his neck, giving him another hug. Skye then slowly nuzzled the side of his head.

"Thank you." She whispered.

A reddish tint appeared on the Shepherd's cheeks

"Y-yeah...of course."

"CHASE! SKYE!" A voice echoed though the trees.

The two pups turned their head to where they saw a figure coming out of the brush.

"RYDER!" The pups dashed towards their owner, knocking him down and licking him all over the face.

The boy laughed. "Okay, okay, I'm excited to see the both of you too." He then hugged them tightly.

Even though Ryder was cutting off some of their air, they didn't struggle out, instead they just embraced the hug. It's not often they get a hug from their owner.

Once they separate from the hug, Ryder pulled out his puppad and called his pups and the Mayor to notify them that they have been found. When the young boy put way his tablet, the young Cockapoo nervously stepped up.

"R-Ryder..." this caught the boy's attention.

"Hm?" He hummed.

"I'm so, so sorry! I let some stupid lies get the better of me and caused a whole lot of trouble. I deserve any punishment you choose for me, but please, leave Chase out of it. He's been through enough already."

This surprised Chase. "What? No! Knowing you, those lies must've been really bad to make you run off like that. If any pup is to blame, it's me. I ran off on my own mission without telling Ryder." he said to Skye.

"You got hurt!"

"So did you."

"You nearly died!" Skye cried. She rushed up to the young German Shepherd and gave him, yet again, another tight hug. "You nearly died and I would've been all my fault. I brought you into this mess. All of you. Everyone in Adventure Bay, just because I believed some stupid lies!" She was crying all over again.

Chase and Ryder gave each other sympathetic looks and both rubbed her back comfortingly. Skye calmed down and looked at them both.

"Well, you both seemed to have already gotten your punishment already so I'll let you both off this once." Ryder told his two pups. He gave them both one more quick hug before jumping on his ATV. Chase joined Ryder while Skye hopped into her helicopter and flew towards the Lookout with Chase and Ryder following behind.

They arrived to the Lookout and were greeted by not only the pups, but the entirety of Adventure Bay. They all expressed just how worried they were when they heard the two ran off like that and were ecstatic to have heard they've been found. The two pups were smothered by the affection of the people (both literally and figuratively).

When the two pups were finally given room, Chase gave Skye a smug look and said "See, I told you." To which the Cockapoo responds with a roll of the eyes and a playful punch.

After everyone left, Mr. Porter gave the pups a celebratory dessert of pup treat cupcakes. The pups thanked him and he left to go back to his restaurant.

About a week has passed since the incident. The cast has rehearsed every day for the performance and the day has finally arrived. Currently, everyone was getting into their costumes and doing last minute practices behind the stage.

Zuma walked over to Chase and Skye, who were going over their lines, and asked "You two awre going to kiss, wight?"

They both whipped their heads to look at the chocolate Labrador. "Huh?" Chase questioned.

"The kiss. You two awre going to do it, wight? You guys have been avoiding it all week. It's a major pawrt of the film!"

"Oh-uh...y-yeah," Skye stammered. "R-right, Chase?"

"Uh huh." He replied with a nervous tone.

"Phew, that's a welief. Now, you two better hold yourself to it. The play's counting on it." With that, Zuma walked away, leaving the two pups to stare at each other nervously.

Mayor Goodway knocked on the stage side to get their attention. "Everyone, get ready; the show's starting. Everest, Tracker, get into position. Ryder, time to be the narrator." The said cast walked up to the stage to start the play off.

"Well, it's now or never, I guess." Skye muttered to them both before she walked up onto the stage.
