Chapter 9: A Dangerous Game
"Hello No-I mean Lady Nobara" Yuji smiled warmly at her. The maid left the two be.
"Lo-lord Yuji! What brings you here?" He was the last person Nobara wanted to see. She knew Yuji had nothing to do with what Sukuna was plotting but she couldn't help seeing Sukuna anytime she glanced at Yuji.
"I am sorry to bother you. But I wished to speak to you for a long time now" Yuji couldn't help himself. No matter how hard he tried, Nobara wasn't leaving his mind. He told himself countless times that meeting her would be a bad idea; a really bad idea. However, Yuji couldn't take it anymore; he was tired of fantasizing and jerking off to her.
"What's the matter? Please sit down" Nobara proceeded to guide Yuji towards the back of the room where a set of sliding doors led directly to the pond. However, they stayed inside where a set of sitting pillows layed on the tatami mat next to the sliding doors, comfortably.
"It's nothing to worry about, haha" Yuji laughed while scratching the back of his head. They were sitting on the comfortable pillows now. Nobara thought how innocent he looked. Compared to Sukuna, he was the complete opposite. Nobara remembered Sukuna referring to himself as the evil twin; I guess Yuji was the good twin then. She thought to herself.
"Do you...do you really love Fushigoro?" Nobara was taken by surprise. Yuji's question seemed a little scary. If she answered truthfully, she would be in trouble. Yuji was Fushigoro's best friend, which means he will make sure that Nobara is sent home; she would have to say goodbye to her dreams.
"I do. He is a great person" Nobara didn't understand why Yuji asked that question. He should know that love wouldn't form so quickly; however, Nobara couldn't say no either.
"But it's too soon. You can't fall in love that fast!" Yuji declared. He looked at Nobara frantically. She was in shock. Is Yuji trying to break the engagement off? But why?
"I...guess you are right but I am marrying him" Nobara looked down with a sad expression. She knew she was admitting to not loving Fushigoro but there was no need to lie to Yuji, who promised to be her best friend too.
"I am so relieved" Yuji took her hands in his and smiled widely at her. Nobara looked at him puzzled. Relieved? Why?
"I don't understand Lord Yuji. Why are you here?" Nobara asked.
"Because I can't let go of this forbidden feeling" with that, Yuji kissed her. Their kiss was illuminated by the fireflies gathered outside the door. Nobara's room only consisted of a single lantern that barely lit the place.
"Mm" Nobara looked at Yuji as he closed his eyes and kissed her sweetly. Compared to Sukuna's rough touch, Yuji was warm. He made sure not to hurt Nobara in any way. It was like a kiss from a lover.
"I am falling in love with you and I can't help it" Yuji stated after pulling away from the kiss. His face formed a blush. How cute, Nobara thought. She didn't know what to say. Their hands were still intertwined; she just stared at Yuji, unable to say anything.
"I know it's crazy. It's also wrong!" Yuji looked down in shame. "Fushigoro is very dear to me. He is the one who introduced me to the whole jujutsu world. Him, Yuta, and I have worked together to save the world. I want happiness for Fushigoro but I can't help feeling this way towards you Nobara" he didn't care for honorifics; Yuji was spilling all his feelings out.
"I-I am sorry Lord Yuji but I don't know what to say" Nobara looked away. She was so conflicted. Fushigoro was going to marry her, his best friend, Yuji, is now in love with her, and Sukuna, who wants to kill Fushigoro, has a weird obsession with her. Nobara had her hands full with three men after her.
"I understand" Yuji looked disappointed, "But I am not giving up. I know I still have time" Yuji got up while Nobara followed. "Please wait for me until then" Yuji asked something that he knew Nobara wouldn't be able to do; however, that didn't matter.
"Lo-" Nobara's words were interrupted by another sweet kiss from Yuji. He pulled away again before she could respond with her own kiss, too afraid Nobara might push him away. Yuji exited her room.
"Lady Kugisaki, Lord Fushigoro wishes to see you in his room" Nobara was once again interrupted from rest. Seriously, how many people want to bother her today? The maid came in to inform her after Yuji's departure. Nobara followed the maid to Fushigoro's chamber. The hallway was dark with the only light emanating from the maid's small lantern. She never visited Fushigoro's room before. She wondered what he wanted. Nobara felt a little uncomfortable; she hoped her light kimono didn't reveal too much. It wasn't her fault that she was trying to get ready for bed after Yuji stopped by.
"Master Fushigoro, please excuse my presence. I have brought Lady Kugisaki as you requested" the maid bowed down while Nobara did the same. They stood at Fushigoro's bedroom entrance. He was wearing a silky kimono himself. In fact, Fushigoro was only wearing the first layer of a kimono. He must be getting ready for bed as well. Nobara wondered.
"Thank you Miss Jee" the maid left the two alone after Fushigoro dismissed her.
It was silent for a bit. Both of them didn't know what to say. Nobara wondered if he would ever invite her inside. What did he want this late? Fushigoro never showed any interest in her before so this was a surprise.
"You should come in" Fushigoro tried his best to restrain himself. He has been waiting for a chance to touch his future bride. He wanted to show that he didn't care; afterall, he didn't want the old man Naobito to think he won. Fushigoro showed disinterest towards Nobara despite falling for her slowly.
"Ah, yes" Nobara cursed at herself for not saying "Lord Fushigoro". She had to remind herself to use honorifics all the time. It was hard referring to these royals. She never was in this kind of environment so everything was new to her. Nobara slid past Fushigoro as he closed the doors behind her. Inside, Nobara instantly recognized Fushigoro's personality through his room. The whole decorations were simple, clean, and neatly kept. If Yuji was messy, Fushigoro was the opposite.
"Yuji stopped by. He mentioned how lucky I am to have you" Fushigoro said to her. Nobara turned around to look at him. He wasn't drunk; she doubts he even drinks. But his cheeks seem to be a little pink. Was Fushigoro blushing? Nobara definitely didn't expect him to have any expressions aside from his usual uncaring look.
"I see. He is a great man" Fushigoro looked at Nobara and closed the distance between them.
"What about me?" He asked as he was so close to her. Nobara could feel his breath. It was filled with sweet green tea.
"Wh-what about you?" Nobara was getting nervous. She didn't know what Fushigoro was going to do. Was he aware of Yuji visiting her after him and declaring his love to her? Or worse, about Sukuna?
"Dammit. That old man really knows how to tempt me" Fushigoro had an annoyed expression but he softened when he locked eyes with her. He slid his right hand behind her back to Nobara's surprise. Is he going to kiss me? This guy?! Nobara was baffled.
"You seem to hate me. I understand why" Fushigoro continued to talk, "it's unfair to both of us that we were forced into this situation. However, you did consent to this on your own".
"Yeah but I am sorry that you didn't have a choice despite being the successor and all" Nobara felt sorry for him.
"Don't worry about me. A beautiful wife is a bonus in this situation" Nobara blushed instantly. She couldn't believe Fushigoro could just complement her with a straight face. Fushigoro grabbed Nobara's other hand with his left hand and leaned down to kiss her. His body was cold against her warm skin. His lips were also cold.
"What are you going to do?" Nobara had to fill the silence. After he pulled away, the room was uncomfortably still.
"Teach you to kiss me back" Fushigoro replied. He pushed Nobara on his bed. Her head lay on his soft white pillows. While everyone's beds were futons, Fushigoro's was the only one that had a frame. It was made out of wood to blend in with the rest of the furniture. Fushigoro got on top of her. One of his hands was next to her hair on top of the white bedsheet while the other hand was placed next to her waist. Fushigoro looked below him to lock eyes with Nobara again. The two were breathing heavily.
"I didn't think you were interested in me" Nobara truthfully stated.
"If you are going to be my wife, my interest doesn't matter" Fushigoro lowered himself to kiss Nobara's neck. She couldn't believe this was happening. Fushigoro, of all people, was now touching her. She already knew she had to do this stuff after they were married but Nobara didn't expect it to be so soon.

The dark and dingy lair of Sukuna is only lit up by his firepower. Not even a lantern decorates the place. Furniture is a no-no; everything would get smashed anyway. "Boss, where were you these past days?!" one of the curses asks Sukuna. He looks like a monster that a human would watch on television. His body is meshed with many colors, a tail trails down to the floor, and he has horns.
"None of your business Gato" Sukuna's thoughts of Nobara were interrupted; he was angry.
"Sorry, sorry boss. We have just been wondering about our next move" Gato pleaded while two other members entered the room. One of them was tall; a giant. Probably eight feet while the other was a short four feet creature, who had a deadly stare; his usual expression.
"Gato is right. We will follow you to the ends of the earth but we need a new challenge" the tall figure stated while the short agreed with him along with Gato.
"Zano, someone will provide me with intel on Fushigoro. I will surely kill that brat this time!" Sukuna laughed menacingly.
"Who is giving us intel?" The short one wasn't convinced yet. "Can we trust them?" He was worried about any betrayals.
"Someone I know for sure. They are going to send me information about Fushigoro's location and I will ambush him from there" Sukuna looked at the three, "Deto, Gato, and Zano. Don't question me you brats or I will fucking kill you!" Sukuna was deadly serious.
"Yes, boss!" The three feared him but followed him nonetheless.
"I have news as well Master Sukuna" Uruame used her ice to glide into the room. "An alliance proposal".
"From who?" Sukuna wasn't interested. Any fuckers who didn't come to him by themselves are weak. A letter would be sent from a coward.
"Noritoshi Kamo. He wants to join our group and kill the leader of the Kamo clan, Yuji Itadori" Uruame continued, "he can't get his hands dirty but will provide crucial information about Yuji's whereabouts so we can annihilate him" Uruame stopped reading the letter and looked at her master for his response.
"Haha!" Sukuna laughed again. "So we have two traitors who will help us take out two of the three great sorcerers: Yuji and Fushigoro! Alright you bitches, let's get started" Sukuna exclaimed while the rest of the crew hyped up. They were ready to kill…
