This was where I originally started "I love Niffty" that's why if you read it already you can recognise parts of this chapter begin copied there.

Few days later at noon two ladies from the Basco family took their purses and went to the Rosie's Emporium for a wedding dress. Doe was glad to go shopping with her mom, since she was quite busy with all the preparations, but also because Ton-Ton was learning how to fly and his sister was the only one with wings to help him. They could always hire an imp nanny, but they were quite short and Alastor didn't agree on hiring succubus for the job. There was also a problem of his heavenly nature, as some demons would just simply refuse to babysit, even for good money.

The other pick was Stolas, who also possessed wings and had experience with flying children, but he wasn't always available, even if he claimed that he could just ditch all his responsibilities to go and have fun with the toddler. Then again, Bascos seems to have a grudge for his romance with Blitzo, whom he protected at all cost making it impossible for Radio Demon to get rid of the imp.

- What do you think about those shoes? - Niffty took out a white heels with small roses out of the shelf.

- Mom, do I have to have heels? - those hooves are killing me! And I fly most of the time anyway.

- Right…

When her mother left to search for outfits in another part of the store, Daria was sitting on a stool picking a veil to choose. She wasn't really that interested in that, so she stood up and took a look at other bridal accessories.

- Looking for something blue? - A female voice asked her from the other side of the counter. Behind her eyes there was a Spider demoness with silky grey bun with light pink spots.

She had two arms, three pairs of legs, and massive hips covered by the black gown, but Daria was quite sure it was a wedding dress. She could swear she looked familiar.

- Maybe… - I don't know?

- Oh, adorable, this must be your first one, then? I can help you, this is not my first ride. - A demon smiled. Doe noticed that she had really pretty long lashes. - But you are awfully young… Arranged?

- Yeah…

- Oh, one of mine was too! How exciting isn't it? You never know what will happen with those. Like, I knew I would kill him, but I still had no idea what to do with him so he lasted quite long! Love is so mysterious that way!

- That's… charming? - Did she just say "kill"? - "One of yours"?

- Oh, I had a few! I tell you, managing those marriages here is quite a chore. My first and fourth are arguing all the time! And seventh wants his own room instead of a shared bunk bed with my tenth…As if! I need to make some space for a new one! But I must admit, the poor thing is afraid of heights after I pushed him from the plane during our honeymoon so maybe I can ask a third to give him his bed instead.

She seemed really cheerful.

- This sounds… busy… - Deer smiled politely. Oh God, who was this lady?! She knew she shouldn't judge, as it was this kind of place but… - So you're getting married, too? Good for you.

- Oh, yes! I just love weddings! And my nephew is getting married soon too! He does seem a bit too flamboyant for a marriage, if I'm being honest. - She sighs.

- I hope the bride knows what she is doing. I once liked a boy of this kind, and later was quite heartbroken when I found him with another man…

- I'm sorry. - Daria replied coldly.

- Don't be, there were some good things about that situation. This was my first time killing, you know? Fun memories! And he tasted good too!

Holy Fuck where this conversation was going!?

- But, darling, you don't seem to be enthusiastic for a new bride? - The spider lady noticed with concern.

There was no harm in talking to her about it, right? It was just some random demon, Daria wouldn't meet again, and she wasn't able to be honest with anybody about it. Chances are that spider didn't know who she was. There were probably dozens of deer looking demons. And If she was to say anything to her dad or mom they would know about her faking it, and Tony would stop the wedding if she showed him any doubt. She wouldn't allow it. He was so close to being free from that pimp.

At the same time she was on edge of panicking. She was pretending for far too long that this whole situation didn't bother her at all. Or at least no one really listens to her.

- My husband and I… Well, we aren't exactly in love.

- Well, arranged marriages tend to do that, sweetie…

- And this whole thing is going all too fast, we weren't prepared for this. We just wanted to play around…

- Are you pregnant? - Spider asked. She had a serious expression.

- What? No, no! - Doe blushed.

But the spider woman just nodded and let her say whatever Daria was feeling now. And it was so refreshing after holding it up.

- I told dad I want it, I can't say that I don't, not now. But what if uncle Tony changes his mind after he gets his part of the deal when we get married? We're friends, but he is still a demon... - She started to list all the bad endings she could think of off the back of her head. They were improbable but not impossible...

Spider looked at her confused, she decided that "deal" must be about early baring of the child if at all, but she did notice she referred to her groom as "uncle" in her panic. Something was clearly horribly wrong about that doe's big day. Daria realised her mistake too, she nervously giggled.

- Ragazza, I know this is Hell, but if you need a place to hide…

She looked at her. For a moment, the idea was tempting... She seems perfectly nice and helpful. Surprisingly normal for this kind of place… Wait, no! The lady just admitted she ate one of the lovers.

- Um, no, no, I'm fine. - She replied. - I take this pin. - She said taking random things from the counter.

- Lapis lazuli! Good choice! - Spider waved to say goodbye. - I'm working here, if you want some advice!

Daria flew away to the other side of the shop to try some wedding dresses. She decided that she had enough of this lady for now.

Niffty smiled a bit and entered a room where Daria was sitting. She showed another piece of clothing to the doe demon.

Daria smiled back, she needed to be strong and don't let anybody see what was bothering her. A wedding is a joyful occasion after all!
