Chapter 8

Redstripe awoke in an all-too-familiar forest, and immediately recognized the hunting grounds of StarClan. He was dreaming.

He couldn't help but wonder, how did they reach him all the way out here?

That wasn't important now.

Redstripe padded through the forest, keeping alert for any sign of a StarClan cat that might have a message for him. It seemed like hours before he finally came to a grassy clearing, and inside it, a light brown tabby she-cat with dark paws was sitting there, along with another star-speckled cat, who was a large white tom with intense blue eyes.

The she-cat spoke first.

"Welcome, Redstripe. My friend Scorch here has a message for you. But I thought you'd like to see me. I am your mother, Coalfoot. I died when you were very young."

Redstripe stared in astonishment. He'd always believed that he had no mother. But here she was. He raced up to Coalfoot, pressing his nose into her soft fur. Coalfoot purred back, and for a moment Redstripe just wanted to sit there forever, knowing he was safe in StarClan with the mother he'd never gotten a chance to truly know. But Coalfoot eventually stepped back, and Scorch., the large white tom, padded forward.

"Hi. I've only got 15 minutes, so let's make it quick. basically, I want to tell you that reality is colliding with the Funnyverse. You are in danger no matter where you are. Follow what you truly believe, and don't shy away from the truth."

Scorch promptly started to fade, and ignored Redstripe's desperate cries of "WAIT!" and "HOW?".

Redstripe woke up in the same familiar, but yet so strange forest next to his RiverClan mate. Mathpaw was curled up nearby.

Something patted his shoulder. Redstripe turned to see the Gorilla King seated next to him, who had appeared out of nowhere. He made some gorilla sounds.

"Thanks, dude." Redstripe got up and made some coffee.

The Gorilla king was gone.
