Chapter 5 - Storm
"I sold my soul." Kat explained. "In exchange for yours, Dean."
Sam and Dean both looked like someone had hit them with a truck.
"You…?" Sam faltered.
"You did what?!" Dean practically spat out the words.
Kat suddenly found it hard to breathe. And then the oddest feeling passed over her. It was an icy feeling, like her body was frosting over. But at the same time, it was almost so cold that it burned. It passed quickly, and Kat didn't understand what had changed at first, but then she looked down and saw her body sprawled on the ground. She was standing in the middle of her own corpse, looking at it through silvery, translucent feet.
Sam and Dean screamed and sobbed, yelling expletives at Crowley, who had remained where he was. Kat heard a snap behind her, and suddenly she was in a dark, dungeon-like throne room. There were lit torches along the stone walls, and they flickered ominously.
She turned to see Crowley seated upon an intricate, ebony throne. Besides him stood a smaller throne, marble-white. Crowley gazed at her pointedly and gestured to it. She slowly crossed the room and sat.
When she faced forward, there were suddenly over fifty people in the room. Some had black or red eyes: demons. Others formed a line in the middle of the room and were chained, many crying and moaning. Kat looked over to Crowley, who met her eyes.
Welcome to Hell, Kat jumped and stared at Crowley. He hadn't spoken, she'd been watching his face the whole time. But she was positive it had been his silky British voice she had heard. Yes, I'm speaking in your head. You can talk back to me in it too. I have a lot of power down here. And I have to make sure I keep that power. You'll see a different side of me down here, one that is crucial for me to keep up appearances and stay in power.
With that, his face was darkened with a cruel smile. He snapped his fingers and shackles flew to secure her wrists to the arms of the marble throne, and a twin pair snatched her ankles.
It's alright, Crowley assured her in her head. I'm not going to hurt you, not actually. But you have to help me sell this if you want to stay out of the pit. I've laid claim to your soul, but other demons want it, and they would torment you for all eternity. You won't be here long, but you want to stay with me while you are here.
Though his tone and words were meant to be soothing, Kat's look of fear as she faced the line of chains was not fabricated.
