The policemen all gathered in the room, whispering and wondering what the urgency was at that moment. Norman walked into the room holding a small briefcase, standing on the stage and looking at the men and women present. He would be lying if he didn't say he wasn't nervous, but the situation was more important now. Adjusting his microphone and tie, he took a deep breath and spoke firmly.

"Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen...I already apologize for interrupting your work but I wanted to inform you of something that happened today...and I hope you will stay tuned." He opened the folder where there were some notes. "As you all know, Scott Shelby died during a police operation and there is absolutely no possibility of his crimes continuing..."

"Did you call us for this, Jayden? The case is over, stop rubbing it in our faces that you killed him!" A woman said in the background and some policemen laughed in debauchery, crossing their arms.

Norman stared at the woman, not saying a word, and shook his head.

"If you think I came here to do this you can leave the room now, Wanessa!"

The policewoman just rolled her eyes and sat down.

"...My point is that we have a copycat, and that person stole all the files about the case inside OUR house!"

Everyone in the room looked at each other, some skeptical and some surprised, and soon the noise began to form.

"How the fuck did you come to that conclusion? They might have just taken it somewhere else." One of the policemen said.

"They would have informed me! Nothing gets past there without me knowing about it!"

The discussion escalated further, no one seemed to believe that there were any copycats or any threat to Scott's level in that area. Because Norman was so secretive and talked little to his co-workers, everyone saw him as an arrogant person or one who just thought he was superior to everyone else because he was from the FBI, even though they knew he had settled in Philadelphia and wanted to stay in the profiler position (and contrary to what they thought, he didn't want to be a captain on the homicide line). He had a great reputation outside the police department but in there nobody liked him and everything was treated with tolerance in his presence.

But Norman didn't see any tolerance at that moment.

"You can't just call us here because you think there's some idiot out there wanting to impersonate a serial killer! You may even have more knowledge but something like that will never happen again in this town, Jayden!"

"How can you know? Any town can have something like this happen, Wanessa! Any town!"

"Your withdrawal is getting to you, Norman…"

He didn't see who said it, but it was the last straw for him. A few people laughed and disguised it when they saw his angry expression.

"All right! That's enough! If you think everything is perfect and you don't want to help me, you can leave! OUT!" He pointed outside, aggressively. He was holding himself back from having a relapse right up there.

"I miss Blake, no matter how much he has a finger in the case and is behind bars." The policewoman said, in a tone of debauchery.

Norman slowly lowered his arm and waited patiently for everyone to leave. What a disaster. He thought he was going to have some support or someone who would believe what he was saying, but he didn't even have a chance to explain about the messages he received. In fact he was alone in this, completely isolated. He didn't want to admit that he missed Blake too, even though he hadn't helped much, but at least Blake was making room for his ideas and deductions. What else could he do? Let it happen? Wait for the villain to make his first attack so that everyone can trust what he says?

"No. I can't let this happen...I need to prevent this person from doing something serious...even if no one believes me." He thought to himself with trembling hands. "...Fuck...I need to get back to my room...I need to…"

"Norman Jayden?"

He quickly snapped back to reality and saw in the corner of his eye a black woman, with long black curly hair and a blue suit, holding a glass of water and a shoulder bag. The profiler shifted his posture rubbing his hands on his pants to remove the sweat from his palms, smiling nervously.

"H-Hello, it's me yes...! Sorry, I haven't seen you around here before…"

"I'm Erinna Johnson, your new captain!" She held out her hand and waited for Jayden to return the shake, but didn't get it. "I was...watching you from outside. You didn't seem to be having a good presentation, I presume?"

"Oh, I was..." He looked down at the folder and quickly closed it, sighing. "I was just going over a new case."

"I see...you...you seem nervous. Would you like to sit down?"

"Sure! Sure, I'd love to! I couldn't stop today except for lunch, I need to relax." He picked up the briefcase that was on top of the stage and walked down from it. "I was already getting worried if they were going to replace Perry, being without a captain is absolutely terrible."

"I'm glad to be able to get back on track! Since I just got here let's discuss work later, I want to meet my team first…"

"Right, although I don't have much interesting things to tell you…"

The two walked between the tables in silence until they reached the room that used to be Perry's, everything was still there - even the sign with his name on it. Norman closed the door and sat down in his chair, crossing his legs. Erinna straightened her hair and put her belongings in one of the closets, including her perfectly folded jacket, and sat down.

"I've seen you at the few shows you've appeared, you were responsible for ending the Origami Killer case, correct?"

"Yes, I had arrived a few days here. Unfortunately the people in charge didn't seem very interested in solving it, however, I admire the efforts of the police. It's not easy to catch someone at first, even more so someone as methodical as Scott Shelby was."

"That was impressive, Jayden! Have you ever solved a case this difficult before?"

"No, no! It was my first time...I confess..." He crossed his arms and looked down at the floor. "...I was pretty scared. I thought I was going to go crazy."

Erinna watched him look vacantly around the room, then decided to change the subject.

"Do you have a good relationship with your co-workers?"

"I'd say so, although I don't talk much." He replied, sighing.

"You're a reserved man then?" She said, smiling.

Jayden was getting a little uneasy and uncomfortable with the conversation, he didn't really like talking about him. Even more so after what happened in the conference room.

"Yes...uh, so - you're really going to take over here?"

"Well, I've allowed myself to come here and see if I can get used to the atmosphere, if all goes well I'll move in."

"Trust me, you'll die of boredom..." He said sarcastically. "If you'll excuse me, I need to take care of some business before my shift ends, so we'll talk more tomorrow."

"Oh -" She raised her eyebrows, surprised. "No problem, it was nice to get to know you a little better!"

Again she offered her hand and Norman ignored it again, walking out of the room with his small briefcase and leaving Erinna alone in her new room.

"Strange little man..." she said to herself.
