Me: Been trying to find stories like this. Angel Grove reacting to the Green Ranger joining the Rangers.
Got disappointed when I found none.
So, I made my own.
The Power Rangers were their protectors. They protected them from Rita and her band of evil monsters. They saved people who were captured, destroyed the monsters, and saved the day. Without them, the people of Angel Grove knew that they would not have lasted the day when Rita first attacked.
The Yellow Ranger, who was so kind. She told the kids never to start a fight and to be fair. The Ranger said protecting the environment was just as important as protecting people. She told them to have the honor and helping the environment would help them in the future.
The Blue Ranger, who was so intelligent. He told others to not hide their brains under brawn, for their intelligence is their greatest gift. Saying that without thinking smart, the Rangers would have lost. That being smart was something to be proud of, not unshamed.
The Black Ranger, who was so fun-going. Showing that was he pranked his fellow rangers after a battle with a hose, getting them wet, and then proceeded to start a water fight. Daying that forgetting how to laugh is forgetting how to live.
The Pink Ranger, who was sassy. She showed that even as a girl who liked clothes and hair, that she could be tough and be one of the toughest ladies during a battle. That people should not be defined for what they are, rather who they are.
The Red Ranger, who was strong-willed. He led the Rangers to their victories and through their battles. He spoke about protecting those who needed it and about doing what is right. That power should not be abused, but respected and used right.
They loved their Power Rangers.
With their Zords, their weapons, and their powers, they showed time and time again their strength to protect Angel Grove. They always knew how to win their battles, and if they didn't, they found a way.
Until they didn't.
Rita had somehow got her own Ranger and he was not like their protectors.
The Green Ranger was cold and mean. He showed no mercy as he fought the Power Rangers. Every time they got back up, he struck them down. His laugh was filled with evil promises. He tore them down and left them defeated, forcing the Power Rangers to run away to regroup or hold on until the Green Ranger left. His power stronger than theirs.
The Power Ranger's first real defeat.
The people of Angel Grove hated the Green Ranger.
For an entire week, they watched as the Power Ranger bravely fought their enemies and when he appeared, the Green Ranger. When Goldar, Scorpina, and the Green Ranger attacked the Megazord during the eclipse., their hearts stopped when they saw the Power Rangers fall, as the Megazord fell apart and as their Zords fell into a fiery chasm that shut.
The Green Rangers dark and cold, "It's over," before vanishing.
Yes, they hated the Green Ranger.
When the Green Ranger appeared near Angel Grove Bay, sending the people there in a panic to hide and run away, they knew nothing good could happen.
The Green Ranger went to the top of a building and started playing a strange tune from his Dagger. Thins went from bad to worse as something came out of the water. It was another Zord, but it was clearly the Green Rangers. It destroyed what was in his way as the Green Ranger didn't care about damage.
But the Power Rangers still showed to stop the Green Ranger.
The Green Ranger had hopped on top of his Zords head, attacking the Power Rangers who had no defense. Then, their Zords came back, giving the Power Rangers their chance to win back.
The Power Rangers led the battle out of the city, where the battle continued. No one knows how the battle ended as there was no one close enough to get to where they were.
They only knew their Power Rangers won because they showed up to help with the clean-up.
They didn't always stay to help with the clean-up, but when they could, the Power Rangers helped, sometimes using their Zords with the heavy stuff. They appeared in a flash of multicolored lights like they always did. The people cheered, clapped their hands for their Power Rangers.
The Power Rangers laughed, waving their hands as they stood in a semi-circle, unlike the line they normally did.
"We knew you would win," someone called out.
"You always do," someone else had exclaimed.
"You always manage to pull through," someone said.
The Power Rangers laughed, nodding their heads as the people gathered close to them. The Power Rangers looked well despite clearly have gone through a battle. The Power Rangers looked around, taking a look at all the damage.
"What a mess," Black Ranger commented.
The other Rangers turned their heads to the Black Ranger, who held up his hands. He turned his gaze to slightly behind the other Rangers.
"Sorry," he said to someone behind the Rangers.
"How did you guys destroy the Green Ranger," someone asked.
The Power Rangers tensed, taking a step backward and closer together. By now, some people had noticed that someone else was with the Rangers, but the Rangers were blocking the view.
"Yeah, how'd you defeat him," came from someone else.
The Power Rangers looked at each other, then looked behind them at the person standing there. They shared looks behind them and the mystery person. After a couple of seconds, they turned and looked back at the crowd.
"The thing about that is, we didn't destroy the Green Ranger," Blue Ranger said.
"But we defeat him," Yellow Ranger spoke.
"Well, Red Ranger beat him," Pink Ranger corrected.
"So he's still around," someone asked.
"Well, about that," Red Ranger said, stepping to the side, the other Rangers doing the same thing.
Everyone gasped as this revealed the Green Ranger himself. The Green Ranger had curled into himself when he was revealed to their sight. People backed away from him, fear dancing in their eyes as they remembered what he did to their home.
"There's no need to be afraid of him, not anymore," Black Ranger said.
"He's one of us now. He's on our side," Yellow Ranger waved.
The people looked at them in disbelief. One of them? How was the Green Ranger one of them? What happened that caused this?
The Green Ranger stood up straight, walking out from behind the other Rangers. He looked around, taking in the buildings and the debris that were laying around. The other Rangers watched him as he slowly turned in a circle, taking in the damage.
Green Ranger stopped, getting down on his knees to pick up a fallen piece of a sign that was broken in half. He sighed, bringing his head down.
"I did this," he said, his voice filled with shame and self-hate, "I did all this and I didn't care. I didn't feel regret, I felt happy. I've destroyed all this and I laughed, even as the people screamed. I was too focused on you and attacking you. I did all this and I didn't care."
The people of Angel Grove were surprised to hear the hate in the Green Ranger's words, words aimed at himself.
Red Ranger stepped forward, placing a hand on the Green Ranger's shoulder.
"You can't blame yourself. You had no control over your actions. What matters now is how you go forward from this point. You can blame yourself for this for a long time, maybe even forever, or you can do something to make up for them," Red Ranger spoke.
"It's not your fault Rita put you under a spell or for having you try to destroy us," Blue Ranger added.
"The one at fault is Rita, you should not have to take the blame," Pink Ranger said, pointing at the Green Ranger.
Red Ranger turned his head to look at the crowd, not taking his hand off the Green Ranger.
"What we said is the truth. Rita placed the Green Ranger under a spell and forced him to attack us. I destroyed what was keeping him under her spell with help from my friends. The Green Ranger deserves a chance to show who he really is, not for what Rita's spell made him be. He's with us now," Red Ranger spoke.
Red Ranger turned his head to look back at Green Ranger, who had stopped looking at the ground upon listening to the Red Ranger.
"Who do you want to be?"
Green Ranger looked at the Red Ranger for a couple of seconds more before replying.
"I want to show Rita that what she made me doesn't define who I really am. I want to save people from her monsters. I want to show her that she made a mistake in picking me. I want to be a Ranger."
Green Ranger stood up, Red Ranger taking his hand off his shoulder.
"But most of all, I want my friends by my side as I do so," Green Ranger declared.
The other Rangers laughed, clapping at what their new teammate said.
"Where do you what to start," Pink Ranger asked.
"Right here, with cleaning up this mess," Green Ranger gestured around.
"Then let's get started," Red Ranger said.
The people of Angel Grove then saw a different side of the Green Ranger.
They saw how kind-hearted the Green Ranger was. He helped his fellow Rangers when they struggled with something. When they came across some lost kids, it was the Green Ranger who managed to calm them down and smile. How he wouldn't let some civilians into a building that looked unstable, just because he didn't want them to get hurt.
At the end of the day, when the Power Rangers stood together to leave, they saw how in place the Green Ranger looked. The Power Rangers were right, the Green Ranger did belong with them.
Over the next couple of battles, they saw more of the real Green Ranger.
They didn't have five protectors anymore, they had six.
The people of Angel Grove soon came to love the Green Ranger just as much as the other Rangers.
The Green Ranger, who showed them redemption. He told everyone that admitting their mistakes and making up for them the best they can is the right thing to do. He showed just how loyal he was by fighting by the other Ranger's sides. That anyone could change for the better.
Yes, the Green Ranger was with the other Power Rangers.
He's with us now, Rita, thought the people of Angel Grove, you lose. He's with us now.
Me: I hope you like this little piece.
With you want me to do another one, let me know! Or what kind of one-shot you would like to see happen. Please note these will mostly center on Tommy Oliver, but I got some ideas that include others. And I will have crossovers.
Hope you read my future work!
