Me: I had this idea and I thought it would be cute. There is none or very little of these stories.
So, I did one.
Tommy breathed in slow, crouching down next to a large rock, blades of grass bigger than him surrounding him. He was hoping his green-cloth clothes would help him blend in with his surrounding. The rock he was next to was giant to him, but to a hand much, much bigger than his, it would be palm size. The hammering his heart was doing to his chest made his ears ring, but his attention was focused on much bigger things to worry about.
Like, the five giants that decided to have their lunch right where he was.
They didn't bring a blanket as some other giants did, but instead brought their picnic basket and set it on the ground with them sitting down in a loose circle. The problem with that was Tommy couldn't hide as easily since there was no blanket he could go under, the giants were surrounding him could look down and see him moving at any time.
So, he was stuck in one place, blending in with grass as much as he could. He wasn't small, only a head bigger than a human's pointer finger. He fingered the metal dagger he made from a metal green bottle cap, knowing that it would be useless against the giants if they saw him. He leaned against the rock, listening to the conversation the giants were having.
"This is great. The fresh air, a nice day," the girl dressed in yellow said.
"Not to mention no attacks," the pretty girl in pink added.
They must be talking about the giant GIANTS. Tommy shivered. They terrified him. They were gigantic, taller than the buildings. They could crush him in seconds. He's lucky the attacks didn't happen in the park.
"Well, as long the Power Rangers protect us, we'll be fine," the guy in black grinned, looking around.
"That fact is true. As long as we, I mean, the Power Rangers are around, we're safe," the guy in blue stated.
The guy in red laughed, "Yeah, guys, we're fine."
Tommy didn't know what happened next. Only that more giants appeared out of nowhere, several grey giants and one giant gold monkey. Tommy recognized them as Goldar and Putties. Goldar laughed, the Putties surrounding the five.
The five human giants stood up, their smiles gone, replaced with a hard stare as they moved into fighting stances.
"Knew this day was going too well," Red said.
"I think your day needs a little fight Rangers," Goldar cackled.
"One day, just one day," Black complained.
"Get them," Goldar pointed his sword at the five.
Tommy yelped, hunkering down as close as he could to the rock as the world around him turned into a giant free-for-all. Rangers, Goldar called the five "Rangers". That meant the five were the Power Rangers. The so-called good giants. At least they didn't attack the environment. Or almost get him killed.
Tommy watched the fight going on around him and most terrifying, above him. Moving was suicide, but staying where he was wasn't life-saving either.
Going as low as he could to the ground, Tommy looked around, terrified. What was he going to do?
At that moment, Red was knocked to the ground, inches from where Tommy was. Tommy yelled and since Red was so close, he heard him. Red turned his head and saw Tommy. Red's eyes went wide, mouth opening a little in shock as he took in the sight before him.
Tommy didn't know it at the time, but Red took in the terrified eyes and how Tommy was trying to melt into the rock. Tommy didn't know that at that moment Red vowed to make sure Tommy wouldn't be that terrified again.
Red glanced up just as a shadow covered Tommy. Tommy looked up and choked on a scream because a grey foot was heading his way, about the crush him.
A shout, a "No!", and the Putty that almost stepped on him has shoved away. Tommy blinked, having enough time to place it together that Red just saved him when a hand grabbed him, lifting him off the ground.
Tommy gasped as the hand enclosed around him, plunging him into darkness. He hunkered down into a little ball, holding his arms out to grab at the hand around him.
"Jason! You okay," Tommy recognized it to be Blue.
"Fine," came from somewhere close. Tommy jumped, then realized that Red, Jason, was holding him close to his chest, like he protecting him.
Tommy felt safe, even though he was in the hands of a giant.
Tommy held on tight, finding the groove between the fingers, and held on. He felt fighting to go on around him through Jason. Every moment was jarring and pushed him in different directions, so he laid down the best he could. He could feel every movement Red made.
Eventually, the fighting stopped and Tommy heard a voice ring out.
"You Rangers may have won this battle, but there will be more to come," Goldar's voice rang out.
There was a strange sound and Tommy felt Jason relax, meaning that the danger was gone. But what now?
"Well, that interesting. Guess they didn't want us to have a free day," someone said.
"Jason, are you okay? You're holding your hand to your chest," one of the girls asked.
Tommy felt Jason move, felt him sigh. "I'm okay. But I'm not sure he is through."
Tommy gulped when the hand moved, pulling him away from Jason's chest. The hand opened up and Tommy closed his eyes against the brightness. He heard gasps and felt ice in his blood, but Jason protected him and Tommy placed his trust in Jason.
Tommy opened his eyes and moved to his knees, slowly looking up. When he did, he saw the sight the giants made.
Their clothes looked rumbled, they did come out of a fight. But Pink, Yellow, Black, and Blue were staring down at him, shock dancing in their eyes. Tommy looked down and saw that Jason had placed his other hand under the one Tommy was one like a second platform.
Tommy looked at Jason, who was looking at him in slight shock and worry. Jason was on his knees on the ground.
"You okay? That Putty almost stepped on you," Jason asked.
Tommy breathed out, nodding his head. "Yeah, I'm okay."
"What the heck," Pink exclaimed.
Tommy flinched at the noise, moving slightly closer to Jason. Jason glared at his friend.
"Kim. Careful," Jason said, keeping his voice low.
Kim winced, following Jason's lead and going to her knees. After a couple of seconds, Black, Blue, and Yellow followed.
"Sorry," Kim said, looking down at Tommy.
Tommy felt himself smile, despite the shaking of his arms at what happened right now and the fact he was almost stepped on.
"My names' Jason," Jason said, bringing Tommy's attention to him, "What's yours?"
"Tommy Oliver," Tommy said.
"I'm Kimberly."
"Zack."
"Billy."
"Trini."
Tommy looked at each of them when they spoke, feeling himself grow a bit safer. Tommy looked at Jason.
"Thanks for saving me from getting stepped on."
Jason grinned, "Well, I am a Power Ranger. Protecting others basically is what I do. Seeing you about to be stepped on, well, I couldn't let that happen."
"Jason," Billy said, looking at him in shock.
"Really," Trini added.
Jason sighed, "If Tommy was here when we got here, then he was when Goldar showed up."
"I was," Tommy admitted, "I couldn't leave when you all showed up."
"Why," Zack asked.
Tommy gave him a look, "I'm a tiny, you guys are giants. Do I really need to give you all pointers as to why?"
Zack rubbed the back of his neck.
"So, you were hiding from us when we came, and when Goldar showed up with those Putties, you ended up being in the middle of the fight," Trini said.
Tommy shrugged, "Yeah."
"If I didn't grab him when I did, he would have been crunched," Jason stated, moving the hand under the one Tommy was on. He held out his pointer finger at Tommy.
"Glad I saved your life, even though this is the craziest thing that happened in my life," Jason grinned.
Tommy laughed. Standing up, he steeled his nerves, reaching out a hand to shake Jason's finger.
"And I'm glad you saved my life, even though this is the craziest thing that happened in my life," Tommy said, looking around at the five giants around him.
Tommy knew he should be afraid. He was in a hand of a giant with four other giants looking at him. But even though the smiles, they keep giving him were bigger than his own, he couldn't help but feel safe. He didn't know why he felt safe, but he finger it was because they were Power Rangers. He couldn't explain it like some energy was telling him that they were safe.
His thoughts were interrupted by a loud rumbling. Tommy blushed, realizing that it was his stomach.
Laughter and the hand he was standing on shaking made him aware that it wasn't really quiet.
"Hungry," Kimberly asked, smiling.
Tommy nodded.
Billy frowned, "How hard is it getting food?"
Tommy looked at him, "Not really easy. I used to live in the walls of a house, but the people moved out and the house was going to torn down, so I hitched a ride here. I've tried hitching a ride to a new place, but that isn't easy either. Getting food isn't easy when you are this size. Or having a place to live."
Jason lowered Tommy to the picnic basket, letting him jump off his hand. Trini had grabbed a grape, handing it to Tommy, who took it with glee. Tommy missed the looks the five were giving each other, the whispered words they said over eating his grape.
"Tommy," Zack said, getting Tommy's attention, "Do you want to stay with the five of us?"
Tommy froze, looking up at the five of them. After taking a moment to make sure they weren't joking, he asked, "Really?"
"Sure," Trini stated, "None of us will be able to think right if we wonder if you are safe or getting food if we leave you here."
"Besides, I can make a mini communicator for you, one that is just like ours," Billy said, looking eager at the thought.
"You could be our own honorary Tiny Ranger," Kimberly said.
Tommy couldn't believe it, but, it was happening and he couldn't say he was against it, because he wasn't. His little home was a hole in a tree, made rainy days suck and food was harder to come by. This was an offer he wasn't going to refuse.
"Yes, I would love to. How is this going to work," Tommy asked.
"Well, we thought you can stay with all of us, but different weeks," Jason explained.
As Tommy listened to the plan, he found that he liked his giant new friends, Power Rangers or not.
Me: I got this idea, got upset when I couldn't find any.
So, I made my own to make up for it.
Hope you liked it!
