A/N: Hey, guys. I decided to restructure the fanfic because a single one-shot this long and saturated would not work, so I decided to split it into five chapters. Anyway, Freddy and his friends performed in public for the last time, but a few weeks after Freddy Fazbear's Pizza closed, William Afton tricked them into and destroyed them one by one, and as they were possessed from the children he had killed in the past, he killed them for the second time. Unable to get rid of the spirits, he got into the Spring Bonnie suit, and that was a fatal mistake. Let's see what happens next, there will be so much to say.

Chapter 2: Michael Afton: Freeing the Souls

(''Submerged Castle- Pikmin 2 OST'')

Michael's POV

I'm Michael Afton, but I am not like my father. What happened after Freddy and his friends were destroyed? I will explain my misadventures to you. After my father died, the souls of the five children still could not find peace, and Spring Bonnie, now known as Springtrap, was abandoned for 30 years. His story is intertwined with mine. But let's start well before those events. In 1993, I became the nightguard of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza to investigate the disappearance of the five children my father had killed, working under the alias of Mike Schmidt. Another nightguard gave me advice and instructed me on how to deal with the animatronics in case they tried to attack me: To prevent them from entering the office, I had to close the doors when they were close and pay attention to the limited power of the building, due to to budget problems.

On Night 1, Bonnie left the show stage at 3 AM, and at 4 AM, Chica started moving too, but she didn't go very far, going to the dining area and then to the restrooms. I checked the door lights. There was nothing on the right. I checked to the left and Bonnie was standing in the doorway. He was staring at me. ''There's Bonnie! No, no, no, no, don't even try! Stay away!'' I exclaimed, closing the door. After five minutes, I turned on the light and didn't see the shadow of the rabbit, so I opened the door and realized he had left, so I let out a sigh of relief. Bonnie caught up with me for the second time at 5:15 AM, but I kept him at bay, and when it got to 6 AM, I left the building. As far as I knew, this job seemed like a walk in the park.

On Night 2, I received a call from the other nightguard. ''Hello? Hello! I see you've made it through the first night. Now that you know the basics, there is one thing I need to tell you. Keep an eye out for Foxy,'s stage, the Pirate Cove: he will slowly begin to exit, and when he leaves, he will be in the west hall. Close the door when you see him coming, but it will drain some energy, and he will exit faster if you don't check him for too long. If you hear footsteps, check the door lights for safety. Good night and see you tomorrow.'' he said.

I took his advice and checked out the Pirate Cove after the call ended, ten minutes later. There was a curtain, but it was closed, so I decided to wait and checked it out later. At half past one, Bonnie left the stage, so I decided to check where he was and saw him in the dining area. The cameras suddenly went static, and when they reactivated, he wasn't here anymore. I saw him in the backstage, where he seemed interested in a costumeless endoskeleton. This made me a little anxious. I remembered that the night before, the previous night watchguard had said that after closing time, animatronics saw humans as endoskeletons without costumes, and as this was against the rules, they tried to slip the night watchguards into a Freddy suit, which would be fatal because of the lack of space due to wires and machinery, especially in the head area. ''I really hope they don't put me in there...'' I murmured.

The cameras went static, but I didn't see anything through the door lights. At 2 AM, when the cameras reactivated, I saw that Chica had also left the stage and was in the dining area, but Freddy was still in his place. I checked the Pirate Cove. The curtain was open, and Foxy was about to leave. I looked in the backstage again, and Bonnie was still there, but this time, his face was much closer to the camera, and I was very frightened: his face was so close that I could see his endoskeleton eyes. Apparently, he and the other animatronics knew I was staring at them, and he was returning it all with his creepy glare.(1) Around 3 AM, I looked at the Pirate Cove. Foxy was gone, and the curtain was wide open. Through the cameras, I saw him running at high speed down the west hall, and in a panic, I punched the door button, causing it to close, and Foxy knocked rather aggressively before returning to his place. I had to be more careful, Foxy had made me lose some power, which was at 55%. Twenty minutes later, I checked the lights. Bonnie was out at the door, so I shut him out. At half past three, I checked the door lights again. I saw that Bonnie was gone, so I opened the door. I checked to the right. There was Chica. She was staring at me through the glass window. Compared to Bonnie, she rarely made it to the door, but she was particularly stubborn and stayed there longer, forcing me to waste power until she gave up, and in this case, it took half an hour. The power was at 37%.

I heard laughter around the building and I checked the show stage. ''Oh, no...'' I murmured. The show stage was empty.(2) Fortunately, Freddy was in the dining area, but I had my doubts. While I was keeping an eye on Foxy, I kept checking the others. Chica was in the restrooms and Bonnie was in the west hall, in the corner. He wasn't at the door, but he was close, and five minutes later, he tried to enter. I shut him out for the second time in an hour, and when he left, I noticed it was half past four. Chica was back in the hallway, while Bonnie was in the backstage again, and I began to keep an eye on everyone for the rest of the night. Freddy moved into the restrooms and I saw white dots. Bonnie arrived again at a quarter to six, but I closed the door again until 6 AM. The power was at 7%. As I walked home, I wondered what was happening to the animatronics and why they were doing this. It could have been a malfunction, but in the corridor I saw a paper about the five missing children. I had a bad feeling.

(''Ambiance 3- Five Nights at Freddy's OST'')

If the first two nights were quite quiet, the third one was a sign that the animatronics were starting to get serious. I got another call from my colleague. ''Hello? Hello. Wow, you've made it to the third night! Nice job. Few have made it here. No, if you ask me, it's not because they're dead. Look, I'm not gonna wast your time this time, this is serious now. Freddy and his friends get more active as the week goes on, but if you keep an eye on them, there's no need to worry. If you noticed that Freddy moved last night, you must know that he is more active in the dark. He moves to the right side, in the darker areas of the rooms, you may only see his eyes flashing white. He won't go back, so keep him at bay. See you tomorrow. Good night.'' he said.

For an hour, all quiet, except for Foxy who was slowly starting to come out of the Pirate Cove, but I was surprised to see that this time, it wasn't Bonnie who left the show stage first, but Chica.(3) Bonnie had stayed on stage with Freddy, but around 2 AM, he left too. Foxy left the Pirate Cove, so I closed the door. I had hallucinations from the words ''IT'S ME'' and the faces of crying children on the wall of the east hall to the faces of Freddy and Bonnie in hyper-realistic version that disturbed me. The Freddy poster in the corner of the west hall changed, showing him ripping his head off, then an eyeless goldenversion of him, Golden Freddy, popped up right in front of me, but I ignored him when I looked at the cameras. Despite having an endoskeleton, he almost seemed not to possess it, as he was in a nearly dead-like position. Chica was in the restrooms, while Bonnie was in the backstage, but during the night, they cooperated more often, and I heard a loud noise at 3 AM. I checked the kitchen camera and saw nothing, but the noises were coming from there, and it seemed like someone was dropping something, maybe dishes, and I thought it was Chica. I found Freddy the restrooms, and looking at the white light in his eyes, I saw hiding him in the girls bathroom. But he was male, what would he do there? Maybe he didn't want to be seen, but he was staring at me. At four AM, both Bonnie and Chica were in the opposite halls. Bonnie was in the left hall and Chica was in the east hall. Around 5 AM, Bonnie and Chica were ready to go inside, which scared me. I didn't want to die. ''These guys at Fazbear Entertainment should really invest in a new power generator.'' I thought, not wanting to imagine those two robots killing me.

Freddy went into the kitchen, where he played a song, but footsteps alarmed me. Bonnie was leaning out of the doorway, and Chica was at the door too. ''Please leave...'' I murmured, closing the doors in panic. They were both side by side, and half an hour later, only Bonnie had left. The worst was also that Freddy was in the east hall. At least 6 AM came before the power ran out. I went home, shaken and scared, thinking incessantly about the animatronics. I had discovered that the killed children had been placed inside them, and that their killer was a nightguard. Four of them were named Gabriel, Jeremy, Susie and Fritz, but the identity of the fifth child was unclear. They wanted to get revenge on their murderer and caused the animatronic to become aggressive at night. Also, the nightguard uniform was purple, and my father had not only worked here, but was also associated with purple, and some night guards had been killed by the animatronics. The night the five children were killed was also Gabriel and the fifth child's birthday. Maybe the animatronics were confusing me and those poor fellows for my father because that was the only information they had from those vengeful spirits, and part of me felt sorry for them, but I was more concerned about my life.

(''Bigmouth Galaxy- Super Mario Galaxy OST'')

On Night 4, things got disturbing. The other nightguard's call ended with a robotic sound and then static, and I knew he was dead. I was silent for half an hour without moving, but I saw Foxy and realized that I had forgotten to check on him, but I closed him out in time. Bonnie also began to resort to underhanded tactics. At 2 AM, in fact, he was in the supply closet, but a few seconds later, he ran into the hallway(4) and I barely managed to lock him out. He and Chica kept attacking, and I also had to keep an eye on Freddy and Foxy. I tried to hold on, but I was seriously worried, and at 5 AM, when Bonnie and Chica were both at the doors again, I closed them both and didn't do anything for the rest of the night. This made me run out of power, and the doors reopened. ''Oh, no... Freddy will kill me...'' I murmured. But he didn't come. It was six o'clock, and I left the office, relieved. I began to think back to my adolescence, and to the prank gone wrong that had caused my brother's death. My father had given a harsh punishment that had to do with distorted versions of Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy and even Fredbear, which caused me terrible nightmares, but the worst of all these distorted robots was Nightmare, a monstrous semi-transparent black bear with a golden yellow hat and bow tie and what looked like a brain was visible on his forehead.

On Night 5, what sounded like a call were just distorted sounds that appeared to be coming from the robots. Bonnie and then Chica left the stage after a few minutes, and Freddy did the same when it was only 1 AM. Everyone was getting faster and faster as time passed, but despite the fear, I tried to be brave, which was easier said than done. The repeated assaults of the animatronics quickly reduced the power, and towards the end of the night, it ran out again. Freddy walked into the office from the west hall and played a song from an internal music box, which I had heard two nights before, and got closer. ''Don't do this, Freddy... please...'' I pleaded. I heard a sound and I looked at my watch, sighing in relief to see that it was 6 AM, and Freddy looked at me with a serious look. ''You're just lucky it's 6 AM, otherwise I would have already caught you. Don't forget that.'' he said sternly. I got my weekly pay, 120 bucks. Sure, it was a pretty lousy pay, but those were the nineties.

In a few days, the pizzeria would be closed, but I decided to return for a sixth night. Five minutes after midnight, Bonnie was already off the stage, and by the time he got to the door, it was not even 1 AM. Seeing him there, I swear, I saw his mouth move up and down like he was chewing on something, and I was hoping it was just carrots. I leaned out of the door on the right, and when I saw Chica in the east hall with her jaw wide open(5), I remained on guard. The animatronics all showed really paranormal behavior, and I decided that once my sixth shift was over, I would return the following night for the last time and do maintenance on the animatronics at 6 AM to check them out. They seemed completely out of control, and Bonnie once laughed madly that he had found me and was ready to avenge his murder, but I shut him out, and he knocked hard in response. My fear and keeping robots at bay made me sweat like a beast, and when Freddy reached the door, I closed it and never opened it again for the rest of the night. When the power ran out again, the night ended like the previous one. ''Once again, you have been saved by the sound of the bell. I'm only sparing your life because of this. It's not easy for me to admit it, but you're pretty good.'' said Freddy, who, once again, didn't kill me. It was the first time he and the other robots seemed impressed, and I got a bonus, which was... 50 cents. Seriously? Anyway, back home, I psychologically prepared myself for the last night.

On Night 7, I didn't have time to check the show stage that Bonnie and Chica were already gone, and Freddy did the same after half an hour. I gave up completely on the idea of checking up on Bonnie and Chica with the cameras because they would waste precious time with Freddy and Foxy, who I absolutely had to check out on. Bonnie wouldn't leave me alone for half an hour, and he and Chica were always attacking. At half past two, Bonnie had attacked me for the third time around that time, and when I closed the door, it crushed his right hand, and he let out a robotic screech that resembled a child's scream, then glared at me through the door window. He looked furious. ''Oops... I'm sorry, Bonnie... I didn't mean to...'' I whispered, sweating.

I closed the door on the right because Chica was coming, and after banging her head against the door, she looked at me angrily. I found Freddy in the restrooms, but his eyes didn't emit a white light. They were glowing of a bloody red and his expression was terribly menacing. Apparently, like Foxy and Chica, he was VERY angry. ''Great, now I feel bad for Bonnie.'' I thought. As much as he and the others had put me through terror both in my nightmares and that job, I didn't want to harm Bonnie, I just wanted to survive, but the damage was done. Furious at the incident that damaged their friend's hand, they began to use every means to get into my office, hard testing the power, and Golden Freddy appeared more often than ever. Bonnie had his guitar with him this time, and he tried to use it to smash the door, with Foxy trying to help, but he only managed to scratch it. From the cameras, all four of them were together, infuriated at me, and I swear that Freddy was growling at me. I could only pray to God that I would get out of it alive.

(''Tomb of the Ancients- Rayman 2 OST-s'')

(''Toreador March- Five Nights at Freddy's OST'')

The power ran out for the fourth night in a row, and I found myself cursing that lousy generator when Freddy was at the left door. I still hallucinated and looked at my watch. 5:55 AM. It got all dark, but I could see in the darkness that all four animatronics were entering through that same door and were approaching slowly. Despite being frightened, I remained still and did not dare to move. ''Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy... please spare me...'' I muttered under my breath, half as a thought, and half as a plea.

There was nothing I could do but wait, and I was ready to face my death, I was ready to be stunned by Bonnie's guitar and the microphone that Freddy always carried with him, ready to die in the Freddy suit.

''Well, well, well... Mike Schmidt, you were tougher than we expected.'' Freddy said, chuckling.

''We've never faced such a stubborn nightguard, and it's time for us to finish you off.'' Bonnie said in a threatening tone.

They looked really mischievous, and apparently psychologically tortured the victims before killing them. Even though I didn't move an inch, I realized that I had peed myself, and I was on the verge of pooping my pants, not to mention how much I had sweated in those hours, even though it was autumn. With the music taunting me, I closed my eyes, waiting for my fate...

(''Alarm Clock at 6 AM- Five Nights at Freddy's 4 OST'')

but there was no robotic scream, just a quite high-pitched sound. It was my watch alarm. I opened my eyes and I saw with great joy that the hour had passed from 5:59 AM to 6:00 AM. I had survived once again.

(''Alarm Clock at 6 AM- Five Nights at Freddy's 4 OST-s'')

''No! Not right now!'' Bonnie yelled in frustration.

''Well, you survived again. We still can't believe it.'' Chica said.

''Maybe I should do some maintenance on you guys. I think something's not right with you.'' I said.

''I might need it.'' Foxy commented, nodding.

''Bonnie... I'm sorry I closed the door on your hand. You were so quick that I reacted immediately, and I didn't know this was going to happen.'' I said to Bonnie, as I examined his hand. ''Fortunately, it's just a minor hole, it can be fixed.''

Bonnie nodded, but didn't answer. Maybe he understood me? ''Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, let's go back to our spots. Maybe this guy isn't the one who killed us.'' Freddy said, and the other three nodded.

My heart was pounding, and I couldn't believe I survived! I followed the animatronics with a toolbox from the backstage and I got ready to do their maintenance. There were no problems in their circuits, so I guessed that the problem was inside. I was about to take off the masks from the animatronics when I got caught. Bad timing. I was thus fired for my bad smell, general unprofessionalism and for being accused of tampering with animatronics. They were active, but since it was dawn, they no longer tried to kill me, and they instead looked... disappointed? Disappointed because I couldn't solve their problem? Very annoyed, I went home.

(''Waltz Of The Damned- Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMix OST'')

Later, my father sent me to an abandoned underground facility, Circus Baby's Entertainment and Rental, to free the soul of my sister, Elizabeth. In here, there were animatronics from a place that opened after the Fredbear Family Diner closed, Circus Baby's Pizza World. The robots were Circus Baby herself, a robot that looked like a little girl dressed as a clown and was the mascot, Ballora, who looked a ballerina, Funtime Freddy and Funtime Foxy, and they were known as the Funtimes. Baby and Ballora also had assistants: Baby's were the Bidybabs, with the appearance of newborn girls, while Ballora's were the Minireenas, doll-like mannequins that, unlike the other robots, didn't speak and had neither an endoskeleton nor faceplate mechanisms. Due to the features implemented by my father, the animatronics were built with the intent of luring children and killing them, especially with Funtime Freddy and Baby. Baby could not only sing and dance, but she could also accept song requests, inflate balloons from her fingers via a helium tank, and make ice cream from a device inside her chest. However, my little sister disobeyed his orders not to go near Baby, and she was grabbed by claw in the robot's stomach, brutally dying inside the ice cream blender. Elizabeth's spirit took possession of Baby, and after that incident, the place was closed that same day for alleged gas leaks, while the robots were used only for private parties.

I was then hired as a technician who had to check on the animatronics and make sure they are ready, receiving instructions from an artificial intelligence, HandUnit. My first shift was extremely short, as I had to motivate the robots to return to their stage using a controlled shock, and it succeeded with Ballora and Funtime Foxy, who were in the rooms to my left and right respectively, but not on Baby. I went back for my second shift, but the elevator stopped and there was an electrical fault. I tried to use a controlled shock on Ballora and Funtime Foxy, without success, so I crawled down the vent in front of me and tried with Baby, but nothing happened, and HandUnit left me in the dark while it solved the problem. Even though I couldn't see Baby, I could hear her voice, which was quiet and almost reassuring. She didn't recognize me, but she seemed willing to help me. ''There is a space under the desk, someone before you used it as a hiding place and it worked. Just don't make eye contact, they'll lose interest in you.'' she said. Her voice seemed to come from the small portable keyboard that HandUnit was giving me instructions from, and I remember that when I tried typing my name that same night, it automatically digitized it as ''Eggs Benedict'' due to a problem, and I felt like an idiot.

(''Waltz Of The Damned- Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMix OST-s'')

Following Baby's instructions, I took a flashlight and hid under the desk, where two pairs of eyes that were staring at me. ''She's watching us.'' a female voice whispered. It was one of the two Bidybabs. One had blue eyes, while the other had purple eyes. They stared at me through the holes in the desk door, knocked and then tried to open it to attack me. I managed to stop them a couple of times, and I got a little anxious. ''We have to leave now! We will see you again soon!'' Bidybab said. Although her voice was a whisper, it was a bit sinister.

(''Crumbling Dreams- Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location OST'')

''Baby? What should I do now?'' I asked.

Her reply was not long in coming. ''When your guide comes back online, he will tell you that he was unsuccessful in rebooting the system and you will have to do it manually. Then he will tell you to go through the Ballora Gallery as fast as possible to reach the Breaker Room, where you will fix the system via the control panel. If you follow his instructions, you will die. Ballora will never go back to her stage.'' she said.

''How can I get past Ballora without getting caught?''

''Ballora can't see you, but she has great hearing and will listen to your footsteps, so move carefully, and if you hear her music, it means she's close by, and you mustn't move, or she'll kill you. To access the Ballora Gallery, go back to the control module you passed through and crawl up the vent on the left. ''

I crept down the vent to the left and reached the Ballora Gallery. I was undecided who to trust, but Baby's instructions had already saved my life, so I did what she told me. HandUnit, as expected by her, came back online, giving me the wrong instructions, but his voice was so loud that Ballora almost spotted me. I ignored him and advanced cautiously, avoiding Ballora until I reached the Breaker Room, where I saw Funtime Freddy. He had a Bonnie-like ventriloquism puppet in place of his right hand. HandUnit told me to reboot the systems for all eight rooms, and that to keep Funtime Freddy from getting too close, I could record the voice of Bon-Bon, his ventriloquist puppet, to keep him at bay. It wasn't easy, but I managed to fix everything and I went home.

(''Crumbling Dreams- Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location OST-s'')

On Night 3, I checked both Ballora and Funtime Foxy, and noticed some oddities: Ballora was in pieces, with the Minireenas holding up her parts, while Funtime Foxy wasn't there at all. Despite this, HandUnit completely ignored everything, much to my annoyance. I went to the Circus Control, where Baby told me the story of the one day she and her companions were active, the party that was on that day, how she counted children, and how a little girl died in an accident. At the time, she wasn't aware of herself when the claw in her stomach killed the young girl, but she was aware of what had happened, and it shocked her. The fact that the poor little girl who had died in that accident was Elizabeth was disconcerting, but Baby was very sentient, more than normal. Almost everyone here was, and they looked a lot more technological than the ones at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, but she seemed upset about that incident.

Under HandUnit's instructions, I crawled through the vent on the right to enter the Funtime Auditorium. I had to get to the Parts & Service room to do maintenance on Funtime Freddy, but Funtime Foxy was sensitive to motion and light, so I had to use a special flashlight sparingly and go cautiously to avoid him. I reached my destination, found Funtime Freddy deactivated, and I had to open his faceplace first and then his chestplate to take a power module, then I had to retrieve the other one by touching the button located under Bon-Bon's red bow tie. However, he broke away from Funtime Freddy's hand and hid behind him. Despite having no legs, he was really fast, and when I caught him off guard and turned him off, he was visibly scared. My assignment was done, but as I left the Funtime Auditorium, I found myself in front of Funtime Foxy, who screamed in my face and everything went black.

(''Who Are You- Final Fantasy VII OST'')

I woke up the following night, in a springlock suit that was different from the ones at the Fredbear Family Diner. I heard Baby's voice again. Funtime Foxy hadn't killed me, but only made me pass out, and Baby had saved me by ''kidnapping'' me and hiding me from the cameras inside that suit in the Scooping Room, a room that contains the Scooper, a machine that separated the animatronics' endoskeletons from their costumes (as Baby said, it was ironic that they used a name that had to do with ice cream for this machine), and I saw Ballora undergo this treatment, which left me horrified and scared, as it was just brutal. Baby also told me about pretending, and how Ballora didn't want to do it, but then, after opening the mask to make me visible to the cameras and allow the technicians to find me the next morning, she warned me to keep the screws on the sides wound up, as my breathing and heartbeat were causing them to get loose. ''You don't want them to get too loose, trust me.'' she said.

Once again, the instructions Baby had given me were vital to my survival: several Minireeras tried to climb into the suit, and I had to continually rewind the screws to keep them from entering and killing me, but at the same time, I also had to struggle if some of them attempted to climb from the sides. I had to repeat this process all night, and I sweated a lot, but after what seemed like endless hours, the technicians found me and I could go home. ''So tired... I think I'll go home to sleep...'' I yawned.

On my fifth and final shift, HandUnit gave me more instructions: I had to go fix Baby. Baby thought she was already broken, and asked me to retrieve a chip inside her and send her to the Scooping Room to undergo the same trial as Ballora, reminding me of how she said she could ''pretend''. As I walked around the Funtime Auditorium in the dark, I had the feeling of being followed by something, and Baby told me it was Ballora's endoskeleton. She gave me instructions to get to the Scooping Room. I reached the center of the room, and saw two doors. The Private room was on the left, while to the right was the Scooping Room, where I entered. In here, I uncovered the animatronics' pieces, and from the glass window, I saw in horror what it was that was following me. He was a mass of threads, with the eyes of various robots scattered everywhere, and he wore a clown mask. His name was Ennard, and he was made up of the endoskeletons of the four main animatronics: Ballora's head, Baby's chest, Funtime Freddy's arms and Funtime Foxy's legs. He started talking to me, and he used Baby's voice. He had deceived me. The animatronics absolutely wanted to get out of there, and Ennard activated the Scooper, gutting me. I was supposed to die, but Ennard took the place of my organs. A week later, my body rotted and regurgitated Ennard into the sewers, then I heard Baby's voice saying ''You won't die'' and I got up.

Although I could not explain it, I was still alive, but I looked like a living dead: my skin had turned purple and rotten, I had lost all my hair, nose and most of my teeth, becoming bald and mostly toothless, and my blue eyes also had lost their color, becoming hollow and black with white pupils. I had survived because my body was injected with remnant, a substance vulnerable to high temperatures that, when injected into animatronics, made them more sentient than normal, and the Scooper injected me with some of it. My father wanted to use the remnant for his own shady purposes, which I did not know, and after this experience, I knew that I failed free Elizabeth's soul, and that my father had sent me to that place to die, and I swore to look for him to get revenge.

I spent years hunting after my father, but I couldn't find him. The opportunity came in 2023, thirty years after Freddy Fazbear's Pizza closed. The horror attraction Fazbear's Fright was built and prepared to open to the public the following week, and I became the local nightguard to check if everything was okay. In my office there were bits of animatronic from the past, some that I didn't recognize. They were the Toys, plastic versions of the animatronics, and with them was Balloon Boy, while the pink and white fox was called Mangle. To my left there was a panel used to fix the three systems, which were cameras, audio and ventilation, while to my right, another panel showed the cameras, which were present in both the building and the vents. One thing that immediately jumped to my eye was that the old animatronics were lifeless and used as lamps or mannequins. Freddy's mannequin was right outside the office, Bonnie's was in the nearby hallway, Chica's head was in a distant room, and Foxy's head was hanging on the wall of a room in the right side like a lamp. I wanted to do maintenance on the animatronics to free the souls of the poor children who had possessed them for years, and I thought that by taking apart the robots and then rebuilding them, I could free them from their torment, but I got caught and fired, and since they had accepted to undergo at this treatment, they were disappointed when I had to leave.

On the Night 1, nothing happened, and in the meantime, touching a Balloon Boy poster, I found a secret retro-style minigame in which I controlled Balloon Boy himself and had to find eight balloons, then I found a secret passage where I saw the spirit of a child, to which Balloon Boy gave a cake. I saw Freddy's mannequin with no eyes or limbs and with a broken, open jaw, close his mouth and nod slightly. Maybe he approved? At 6 AM, another minigame began, in which I controlled Freddy, who had to follow a purple Freddy known as Shadow Freddy, and when I went down the west hall, I saw a combination of buttons. I thought it was a clue, and I was curious.(6) I led Freddy to the restrooms, where there was a room nearby, but he couldn't enter. I was horrified to see a purple axe-wielding figure who was my father. Freddy tried to fight him, but he was brutally destroyed. ''Poor Freddy...'' I murmured.

On Night 2, I found myself face to face with Springtrap. The forty years of neglect had caused the loss of of his right ear and several rips on his faded, greenish costume, and inside of him, there were the decaying remains of my father, making him a zombie rabbit of sorts. Since there were no doors, a man on the phone told me how to prevent Springtrap from entering the office: I had to control the cameras via the panel on my right to see where he was and use the sound system to simulate the voice of an animatronic from the past, Balloon Boy, to lure him into the rooms next to him, as he was attracted to sound. Interacting with an arcade machine, I discovered a minigame with Mangle as the protagonist. I had to find the parts of Mangle by being careful of the children trying to dismantle it, but when I found a secret passage, I noticed the second spirit that Mangle gave a cake to. Bonnie's mannequin behaved the same way as Freddy's, and I realized that I was freeing the souls of the children that my father killed, and I was freeing the robots from their possession.

While I was working, the systems were damaged more than once during the night. What a lousy quality, even 1950s TVs were better than this. At one point, I was attacked by what looked like a burnt Balloon Boy, but he disappeared at the last moment when he lunged at me, and a red light flashed with an alarm. The ventilation system was damaged. Maybe he was a hallucination. At the end of the night, there was the same minigame as the night before, but I controlled Bonnie, and the secret was four black cupcakes. When I reached the restrooms, a scene started in which poor Bonnie knelt in front of the remains of Freddy in despair, then saw my father and angrily attacked him, determined to avenge his friend, but he too was destroyed. I decided to continue investigating for the rest of the week and went home.

Over the next few nights, a familiar voice spoke of springlock suits and their dangers. I found the four cupcakes and unlocked a minigame with Toy Chica as the protagonist. She had to find four cupcakes and serve them to four crying children. I did so and found a secret room where she gave the cake to the third spirit. I checked the room where Chica's head was and noticed that her eyes no longer emitted light. I had more hallucinations, and saw what seemed to be Freddy limping in front of the window. He disappeared, only to catch me off guard, and then Foxy also appeared in the office. He was also burned, but he had no hook, and then I saw Chica in black and white on an arcade machine and ignored her immediately. During the night, I noticed that Springtrap was moving faster was starting to use the vents as shortcuts, but closing the vents from where he passed solved the problem. Two in particular, located on the right hand side, led directly to the office. Now I was in control of Chica, and the secret was a combination of keys, 3-9-5-2-4-8, which I wrote on a piece of paper. She reached the restrooms, where she saw the remains of Freddy and Bonnie and was immediately destroyed. I went home, shaken.

At the beginning of Night 4, I found that the combination was compatible with the tiles on the wall. I typed it in and found myself in a minigame with Golden Freddy, then known as Fredbear, and Springtrap, then known as Spring Bonnie, in the Fredbear Family Diner, performing in front of children. I had to use Fredbear, and going through a wall, I found the fourth child. Foxy's head stopped glowing. I then concentrated all my efforts on Springtrap, who moved quickly and used the vents more often, not to mention that the systems were frequently damaged. The Phantoms appeared more often, causing me problems, and a Mangle-looking one made a terrible audio sound that lured Springtrap and damaged the audio system. As he stared at me through the window, I noticed that some springlocks had penetrated my father's jaw, which chilled my blood. Fortunately, it hit 6 AM, and I controlled Foxy in the same minigame from previous nights, where I discovered a new secret, a black Bonnie known as Shadow Bonnie, then he was brutally dismantled like Freddy and the others. I was very sad to see him destroyed, especially to see his head. Foxy was my favorite of these four, and when I pranked my brother, I used that mask, but I ignored it. I was scared, but I decided not to quit my job, as I felt that I was close to something.

On Night 5, I found a Shadow Bonnie figurine on my desk, and it triggered a minigame where I had to control him. He could glitch and teleport to rooms from previous minigames, and after some time figuring out where to go, I reached a purple room where the last spirit was, to which Shadow Bonnie gave the cake. I saw that a grayish figure similiar to Golden Freddy was staring at me, then disappeared. Maybe he didn't want to to be freed? While checking out Springtrap, I lost sight of him a few times because he was very fast, and I also had to ignore the Phantoms to keep them from causing problems to me, but I saw another one. It was a marionette known as the Puppet. The Puppet did not attack and didn't cause the systems to fail, but he blocked my view for a minute. I kept closing the vents and using the audio to keep Springtrap out, but towards 6 AM, he came to the door and glared at me from the threshold. Though scared of how loathsome he was, I glared back at him and didn't move until 6 AM struck.

Thus a minigame similar to the previous ones began, but now I was controlling the spirit of a child, and there was another difference: the room that Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy could not go into was now accessible. From there, I saw four more spirits and the silhouette of my father. Filled with fear, he hid inside the old Spring Bonnie suit, which had blood stains from previous murders, and then laughed, believing he had won, but he was wrong. His movements were abrupt, and the rain had made the room damp, and I witnessed a macabre scene. The springlocks loosened and my father was brutally crushed from the inside, bleeding to death. Disgusted, I threw up in the trash can in the office and understood everything. The springtrap... that's why Springtrap was renamed this way. The panel screen told me there was one last secret available tomorrow, so I left.

I went back to Fazbear's Fright for Night 6 ten minutes early, and finding a drawing of the Puppet, I touched it from the panel and the last secret minigame started. It was set in a party where several masked children were sitting at the tables, and I was controlling a little girl in the Puppet mask. I advanced until I met four children with the masks of Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy and a fifth one that had no mask. The kid in Freddy's mask and the one without the mask were celebrating their birthday, just as I thought, with the others next to them. The little girl I was controlling put a big cake on the table and gave the fifth child a Golden Freddy mask, then they all disappeared and the masks fell to the floor. I noticed that the Puppet and Golden Freddy masks, the latter in particular, fell more slowly. Were those two not ready?

The horror attraction was supposed to open to the public the day after, but that night was a real nightmare, something beyond horror. The three systems were damaged continuously and in a chain, to my enormous annoyance, the hallucinations continued to haunt me and Springtrap seemed demoniac, exploiting the static of the cameras. I was a middle-aged man, not a private detective, and as the hours went by, I was starting to go crazy. At 5 AM, I found him in front of me, with his mask raised to the point of making my father's face clearly visible, still stuck in the horror he had felt at his death, and he was glaring at me with his mad homicidal maniac glare, with a stench that was worse of a skunk carcass. Being a living dead myself, I wasn't sweating, but I didn't care either. I ran out of the office screaming bloody murder until I reached a room, and through the window, I saw that it was dawn. From there, I took some oil, scattered it around the rooms, and burned it with a lighter before fleeing to the exit, hoping that the fire would destroy Springtrap. I was safe.

When I walked out of Fazbear's Fright, something behind me caught my attention. It was the masks of Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy, which levitated in midair and then fell into my hands. I noticed that they had their eyes again, which were closed, and also their lower jaw. They seemed to smile, and I heard a voice. ''Mike Schmidt ... no. Michael... thank you.'' It was Freddy's voice. His spirit levitated beside me, along with those of Bonnie, Chica and Foxy.

''Thanks to you, the children who possessed us are free.'' Foxy said.

''After nearly forty years, they can enjoy their eternal rest in heaven.'' Chica said.

''I was starting to go crazy with those spirits who possessed us, but thanks to you, Michael, we now feel a serenity that we never felt before. It's a shame you couldn't fix us when you got fired, maybe you could have fixed it sooner if it wasn't for that. We may not be rebuilt, but perhaps, it's better like this than still being possessed by vengeful spirits. Thanks you.'' Bonnie finished.

The spirits disappeared, and smiling, I put the masks in my pockets, leaving Fazbear's Fright behind as it was consumed by the flames. I had succeeded in my intent, keeping that promise I had made to them. Gabriel, Fritz, Susie and Jeremy were finally free now. After what I had been through, I felt like I didn't want to sleep for the rest of my life, but I had to, maybe I deserved it. It was all over, or so I thought.

Some time later, I met Henry Emily, the old co-founder of Fazbear Entertainment, who asked me for help with something, and I became the new manager of Fazbear Entertainment, managing a new pizzeria, Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place, until a test which would take place on Saturday. During the day, I would have to take care of the management of the pizzeria, buying furniture, decorations and animatronics, and at night, I had to order them so that they would arrive for the next day. According to the instructions of Henry, who was my boss, I also had to follow Paragraph 4, which was salvaging four possessed animatronics from the alley and lead them inside the pizzeria. An animated figurine similar to Funtime Freddy, named Helpy, would help me manage it all.

On Monday, after closing time, I inspected the back alley and saw a pile of wires that I recognized immediately. It was Ennard, but he had a bear mask, a hat and a bow tie, so Baby wasn't the dominant animatronic anymore, but Funtime Freddy was. And speaking of Funtime Freddy, Bon-Bon wasn't there. Had he died during the endoskeletal fusion process? My God, that thing was very ugly to see, these three details were the only distinguishable things about him, the rest was all melted wires everywhere and eyes scattered here and there. ''What is this crap?'' I thought. Anyway, I recovered it and prepared for the test, waiting for my boss's message. I was wearing headphones to communicate with Henry, who was sending messages to me via videotape. ''I salvaged the animatronic.'' I said.

''Alright, Michael. Now that the animatronic is with you, we will run tests to see if it responds to loud noises. The test will end after five audio sounds have been used, and if you can keep the animatronic at bay, you will get some money. If it moves and you feel it is becoming aggressive, use the taser to release a controlled shock and return it to its neutral state. You can use it safely three times, but if you do it again later, you could damage the animatronic and you'll get less money.'' Henry informed me. ''The audio prompt starts in three, two one.''

The bundle of wires, known as Molten Freddy, didn't move, but at the second sound, he looked at me and I used the taser. The same thing happened on the fourth sound, but after that, he didn't move anymore. ''Done. Looks like he didn't attack me.''

''Well done. Be careful though: at night, he could get aggressive and will try to enter your office through the ventilation vents. Remember that animatronics like this one are sensitive to sound. During the night shift, listen to their movements if possible, use the flashlight when you see them coming, and use the audio to lure them elsewhere. To prevent them from hearing anything, you can turn off the ventilation system, which heats the office, or turn on silent ventilation. Good luck.''

''Thanks for letting me join the party, I'll try not to disappoint.'' said Molten Freddy. Compared to Funtime Freddy, who was just plain eccentric, this one was completely insane. I couldn't keep that thing in contact with customers. What if he killed someone? For this reason, I had him moved to the back, where my office was.

The week went on like this. After the end of the second day, which was Tuesday, I discovered with horror an old acquaintance of mine. I couldn't believe Springtrap survived the Fazbear's Fright fire. The few items that hadn't been destroyed by the fire, like a Freddy figurine, had been delivered to a charity auction, but through the newspaper that talked about the fire and blamed it on the faulty wires, I had seen the Springtrap's head. He was now known as Scraptrap, and he was even more decadent: he had to replace the suit, he had lost most of his left arm, with a sharp bone attached to the rest, what was left of his right ear and half of the left one, and the corpse of my father was reduced to a skeleton, with all the flesh burned by the flames, long bony claw-like fingers, and his skull was visible through the holes in Scraptrap's head. Scraptrap said in a dark voice that while he knew the call was deceptive, it was intriguing to him. ''You may not recognize me at first, but I assure you, that's still me. I always come back.'' I was frightened by his voice, but what he said was a little suspicious. However, Henry had given me directions to follow, and I decided not to rebel.

On Wednesday, I salvaged Baby, who was badly run down by time, had rollerskates in place of her shoes, several parts of her body had discolored and her right hand was replaced by the claw inside her stomach. Her voice was still quiet, but I noticed that it was more sinister and her demeanor was different, as if Elizabeth's spirit had taken more and more control of her over time. She recognized me as I recognized her, saying she didn't expect to see me. Now that Scraptrap was with her, with our father's remains, they were reunited, and Molten Freddy was provoking me that we were all three together now, a whole family. On Thursday evening I found the animatronic that was in the best condition of the four. He was a mysterious black bear named Lefty. I was almost attacked by the two of them, but still managed to manage with salvaging.

Thanks to the money from the salvages and the money received from the sponsors (which, however, made noise with their advertisements, and therefore the animatronics almost caught me a few times), I managed to buy several robots for the pizzeria. Among them were new versions of Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy, the Rockstars, and there were also other robots, the Mediocre Melodies. They were Happy Frog, a singing frog, Mr. Hippo, a purple hippo who served as an entertainer, Pigpatch, a pig who played the banjo, Orville, an elephant who served as the magician of the group, and Nedd Bear, a bear who wore a tie and had green eyes. Nedd was definitely forgettable, as he reminded me too much of a low-budget Freddy. I also got a spider-like animatronic, Music Man. Over the days, the pizzeria received some irritating lawsuits regarding something that had happened to a child. Helpy helped me respond to the lawsuits, but I noticed that he was always annoyed when he did that. I couldn't blame him, some of these lawsuits were really stupid.

Friday night was my last shift. I faced the four animatronics until I ordered all the materials, and once that was done, I turned off the computer. ''Done!'' I exclaimed.

Scrap Baby's voice caught my attention. ''You fell right into our trap. Did you really believe this job fell out of the sky for you? No. It was a gift for us. You gathered them in one place, just like he told you. All these little souls in one place. We can now do what we were created to do and be complete. I will make you proud, Daddy!'' she said. Just as I thought, Elizabeth, who still possessed Baby, was following in the footsteps of our father, who was with her as Scraptrap.

''Elizabeth?... what are you saying?'' I murmured.

Henry intercepted the call, told Baby she had been misinformed, and ordered all robots to give up their spirits, also referring to who he called his daughter. ''Henry, what is the meaning of all this?'' I asked, noticing that the place was slowly getting hot.

''My brave volunteer, the time has come for me to tell you everything. My real plan was to bring all the remaining possessed animatronics here, trap them in the ventilation vents, and burn them to free the souls. William... that bastard has killed several children for his own purposes, which have to do with the remnant inside these robots. If you wonder about Lefty's origins, I built him myself to trap the Puppet, which is possessed by the soul of my daughter Charlie.'' he explained.

''How is it possible that I am alive after the Scooper gutted me?'' I asked.

''The Scooper could was capable of injecting remnant. This substance kept you alive after death. Your father destroyed Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy thirty years ago because he believed that remnant would last until the robots were destroyed, but he was wrong. I turned on the heater to consume the remnant within them, destroy them and free their spirits. Among the victims of my old friend is Charlie, the first one he killed, and when I found out, not only was I so furious with him that we distanced ourselves, but I tried to commit suicide more than once. His excessive arrogance led to his death, and even if he is dead, he can rot in the deepest pit of Hell for all I care.'' said Henry, and I quickly noticed that when he referred to my father, his voice was venomous as a snake, almost resentful, but as he spoke of young Charlie, his tone became sad.

I began to cough. The building was overheating. ''What do I do now?''

''I'll stay here to die. Fazbear Entertainment will end with me. I originally planned a way out for you, but maybe that's not what you want. The choice is up to you.''

''After what I've been through, I'd say it's time for me to die. The Afton line will die out with me.''

I noticed that Henry's voice, in his last words, was warm. ''Even though we only worked for five days, it was a good experience. Thank you for everything, Michael, and goodbye. End tape.''

My mission was successful. My little sister was finally free. Charlie was free. The souls of my father's victims were all free. I had decided to die with Henry, and my misadventures were over. Helpy jumped off the desk and tried to escape, while I stayed in my seat, letting the fire consume the remnant inside me and destroy my body along with Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place. ''Elizabeth, my dear little sister... you're free now. We will be together again, for real, this time. Evan... will you forgive your foolish brother?'' I murmured. Apart from the incident of the Bite of '83, I regretted nothing, and these were my last words, my thoughts, before I died.

A/N: We finished Michael Afton's story, but this is just the beginning! How's his father doing after his death? And is it really over? Find out in the next chapter! See you soon!

(1): Bonnie is the first animatronic in the series to be created by Scott Cawthon, who thought he was the scariest of the four, having nightmares about him during the game's development.

(2): In the first two games, Freddy is active from Night 3, but if you run out of energy, he also activates in the first two nights to kill the player, while in Five Nights at Freddy's VR: Help Wanted, he also becomes active in Night 2.

(3): In the first game, on the nights after the third one, it is possible for Chica to become active before Bonnie, but that never happens in the second game, and Bonnie is usually more active than her in general.

(4): On the last few nights, Bonnie tends to use this tactic if he's in the supply closet, as if he was teleporting. Also, in the trailer, he's shown running down the hall, but in the final game, this ability is given to Foxy.

(5): In Five Nights at Freddy's VR: Help Wanted, it's possible to lean out of the doors, which allows you to see the animatronics in the hallways without looking at the cameras, but you will not be able to leave the office anyway: trying to leave the office will result in a jumpscare from Foxy.

(6): The six secret mini-games in Five Nights at Freddy's 3 are essential to achieving the good ending. With the exception of the first one, the others must be faced on a specific night, and to complete them, the player-controlled animatronic must reach secret passages and reach the spirits of the children to bring them a cake. Once you have completed all the mini-games and then complete Night 5, you will get the good ending, in which, unlike the bad one, the heads of Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy will not have a light in their left eye, indicating that the souls of the children that possessed them now rest in peace.
