3. Enter the Virus!

A/N: Hey, guys! In the previous chapter, Michael Afton freed the souls of the children, including that of his sister Elizabeth. But if his father died once and for all, does that mean it's over? Maybe not.

WARNING: There may be spoilers in this chapter for Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach, which has not yet been released. Given that the game will only be released in late 2021, this attempt of mine to explain the storyline may be just a hypothesis and may not fully match the full game when it is released. Before we begin, I wish, albeit belatedly, a happy seventh anniversary to the Five Nights at Freddy's series, with the first game being released on August 8, 2014! Now let's get started!

Chapter 3: Enter the Virus!

(''Creepy Freddy- Five Nights at Freddy's VR: Help Wanted OST'')

Despite the sacrifices of Henry Emily and Michael Afton, the story of Fazbear Entertainment did not end there. Henry wanted Fazbear Entertainment to end with him and to be dissolved and be forgotten along with all the disasters and tragedies. With video games developed by a certain indie game developer that talked about it, the company became very unpopular and wanted to disprove everything that had happened in order to regain their lost reputation. For this reason, he commissioned a VR video game, the Freddy Fazbear Virtual Experience, developed by Silver Parasol Games but secretly commissioned to the indie game developer himself to force him to prove himself wrong. However, scanning Scraptrap's old circuits accidentally created a virus codenamed Malhare, better known as Glitchtrap. In addition to a simple virus, he was William's digital reincarnation personified in the Spring Bonnie suit, the same one he had used for his infanticides, with a particularly oppressive and disturbing presence.

A colleague of Jeremy, who had recorded his experiences on fifteen tapes, tried to imprison Glitchtrap, who was trying to escape into the real world, but due to a mistake, she failed. She then had to disperse the fifteen tapes to protect the game, and made a sixteenth that would explain how to defeat him. In the first fifteen tapes, which were in no particular order, she talked about the development, some sort of malicious code, Jeremy's strange behavior, the animatronic materials sent to Silver Parasol Games and the first appearance of Glitchtrap and much more.

A woman named Vanny met Glitchtrap face to face while working as a beta tester for the game. As she found the tapes, she noticed that from transparent, he began to take on a physical form and appeared continuously, disturbing her more and more. It was clear that she had discovered the secrets of the game, and was surprised when she found the sixteenth tape. She listened to all the tapes, which were in numerical order, so she had to listen to them all several times to get an idea of what was going on. Once that was done, he crossed out the previous numbers on them and wrote the new numbers in chronological order with a permanent marker and listened to all the tapes one last time, starting with number 15, which was the first one chronologically.

''Hello. You don't know me. I'd created a series of logs for you documenting the troubled development of this VR game that you're now testing in hopes that you, whoever you are, and whatever team you are with, will abandon development. Now I fear that those logs are being used as a Trojan horse. If you're unable to abandon development, hide all traces of these logs that I've created. I fear that finding them and reassembling them will also reassemble the very thing I've tried so desperately to destroy.''

What was it that she tried to destroy? Was it that creepy figure? It seemed to mean something, but she had to go on to better understand what was happening. She moved on to the second tape, which was previously number 1.

''Hello? Can you hear me? Don't exit this room, ok? This isn't a mistake. This room isn't a mistake. I had to hide these logs away from the core gameplay files in a place that only a beta tester would look and in a place where the files could be protected. I just really, really hope that the next development team finds this before the game is released to the public. This game has some kind of malicious code in it that we haven't been able to fully contain or even understand for that matter. We're over-budget and out of time. But that's not the reason that we're shutting down. Listen, I have to keep this short so the file size will be small enough to fly under the radar. There are more. They may not be in order.''

The second tape didn't contain much information, so he moved on to the third one, which was previously number 5, and it felt like the beginning of the story.

''The drawers have been emptied out. Someone was here. I don't think it was spring cleaning either. No, there was plastic on the floor. Someone was definitely here during the night. It had to have been the client. I mean, they sent us that stuff in the first place with no explanation. Told us to scan it. Said it would expedite the process so we wouldn't need to program any path finding ourselves. It was a budget thing, I guess. It was just junk- circuit boards and things like that. Looked pretty old. Somehow, though, there was usable code on some of it. It seemed to take hold by itself. Things started changing. But then, he started appearing. At least, that's what Jeremy said.''

Vanny was starting to feel nervous. That he was the strange shape? Who sent the materials? And who was Jeremy? Was he a colleague of that woman? She went on with the tape that used to be number 7.

''Jeremy complained of nightmares when he came in this morning. He wasn't talking about it like someone telling a friend about his dreams, though. He was pale and looked like he hadn't eaten in days. He spent an hour talking in the office of our manager, Dale, but it didn't look like he was given much sympathy. When he came out, he went directly back to the testing room. He doesn't even jump anymore. Nothing scares him. He just stands there like he's talking to someone. Sometimes he rocks from side to side. We were told to leave him alone. I knew I was in line to do the testing next. They'd been prepping me for it. I guess they knew that Jeremy would need to be replaced soon.''

That was the first clue. Jeremy was the colleague of the woman who had recorded these tapes, and after the materials arrived, he reported a strange presence and had terrible nightmares, but no one was listening to him and it seemed that Silver Parasol Games was trying to replace or fire him. While feeling a strong anxiety, Vanny moved on with the tape that was previously number 8.

''You can always tell when a company is getting ready to fire someone. They start giving out written warnings for silly things, making sure to make a paper trail and make a case for a firing. Things that normally no one would care about suddenly become grave offenses, all worthy of being written and documented. I guess it works two ways, because it also encourages a person to quit rather than be scrutinized so heavily. I think Jeremy was too far gone to consider that option though. The thing about it is, that I don't think they were going to fire him because of anything he was doing wrong. They just knew he'd seen something. They needed to discredit him.''

Listening to that tape, Vanny understood. Jeremy had seen Glitchtrap and was starting to suffer bad effects from this exposure, but the developers wanted to silence everything by trying to discredit and fire him because he knew too much. But why? She moved on to the sixth tape.

''I came in early that morning, and no one else was there. At least, that's what I thought. The supply room was lit. I didn't even notice Jeremy standing in the testing room as I walked past. The supply room was so bright - glowing from all the way down the hall.''

There were no particular clues, but it seemed related to the previous two with regard to the time they were recorded. Vanny listened to the tape which was previously number 9, the seventh in chronological order.

''There was something that looked like a Halloween mask laying on the floor. I didn't understand. Ink must have spilled. It was only then that I heard a shuffle from the testing room and realized Jeremy must be there. I went back and peered in the window. I couldn't see his face. He had the VR visor covering his head. He had ink spilled on himself as well. The front of his shirt looked black in the dark room. He turned his head in my direction, but I don't think he knew I was there.''

Ok, this was just sinister. She could not understand what was on the ground, but she had no doubt that this event had happened either in the middle of the night or in a dark room, such as the supply room. But what could the ink mean? And what was the Halloween mask on the floor? She moved on to the eighth tape, which was previously number 4.

''Have you ever heard of a guillotine paper slicer? It sounds made up, but it's an actual piece of office equipment. I didn't even know we had one in the supply room. I guess they're more common at businesses that do a lot of graphic design work. I remember seeing one when I was still in school, and even then I knew how dangerous it looked. I was always afraid of losing a finger. That seems so silly now. Jeremy used to do design work. I guess that's how he knew it was there.''

After listening to that tape, Vanny stopped in shock. Maybe what happened to Jeremy wasn't an accident at work: it was suicide. After two minutes of doing nothing because she was too shocked, she reflected. No one could clearly know what had happened to Jeremy because it had all happened in the warehouse, nothing could be seen. That around Jeremy was blood, which was seen as ink because it was all dark, and the Halloween mask? It was his own face. He had probably gone mad and committed suicide by slashing his face with the guillotine letter opener to avoid coming under Glitchtrap's control. Now the woman was really scared, but she decided to go on, she had to understand what was happening. She inserted the tape that was previously number 3, the ninth in chronological order.

''I heard a pretty heated conversation this morning between Dale and someone else on the line. It really feels like this project is in trouble, in no small part because of the lawsuit I'm sure. There has to be a lawsuit, there's no way there isn't! It happened in this building just a few doors down from me. I think it's made worse by the fact that Jeremy tried to tell us something was wrong. But as a development team, we all just saw it as a challenge to find what the problem was and fix it. Who could have known that- I have to go.''

It was clear that the incident that caused Jeremy's suicide had infuriated those at Fazbear Entertainment, and for the wrong reasons. Not because they had let him die, but because this accident had jeopardized the project. And to make matters worse, Jeremy had tried to warn everyone, the folks at Fazbear Entertainment were certainly hiding something. She moved on to tape number 13, the tenth in chronological order.

''They lied to us. They lied to all of us. They told us that the whole point of this VR game was to undo the bad PR done by a rogue indie game developer, who supposedly made up a bunch of crazy stories that tarnished the brand. But that's not true at all! In their haste to develop this VR game and clear their name, they sent us some things I don't think they intended us to see, such as a hard drive containing e-mails between Fazbear Entertainment and a certain indie developer. Fazbear Entertainment hired the game developer. Those indie games were designed to conceal and make light of what happened. This isn't just an attempt to rebrand. It's an elaborate cover-up. A campaign to discredit everything.''

So Fazbear Entertainment was trying to cover up the evidence all this time? Was that the reason why Jeremy's colleagues, apart from that woman, weren't listening to him? That corporation was certainly very manipulative. She kept listening, and this time she went to tape number 10, the eleventh chronologically.

''I was told I had three days to finish Jeremy's work, but I know it's just passing the time. They don't really expect me to do anything. It's just to keep up appearances until the buyout is complete. We have to look like we have things under control. There's another potential development studio that wants to pick up from here. But who knows what kind of lies they're being fed to convince them to do it. Against my better judgement, I'm going to do my best to see what's here, make notes of it, and try to isolate where this thing is hiding. At least then, the next person that tests this will have a chance of getting rid of it.''

Listening to this tape, Vanny now knew that whoever recorded those tapes had taken Jeremy's place after his death, but was very suspicious because she had discovered the truth. She also said of a development studio that would be tasked with finishing the game, and as she saw at the start of her beta testing assignment, it was Steel Wool Studios. She moved on to tape number 2, the twelfth in chronological order.

''I saw it for the first time today. There was a character, I couldn't make out who it was, standing at the end of the hall. I thought it was just bugged out, so I made a note of it and kept playing. But then it was looking in the window. And not like Chica or Bonnie would. It was like it was actually looking in the window, seeing what I was doing.''

Vanny felt her hair stand up under her VR headset. Jeremy was right then, Glitchtrap's appearances weren't just hallucinations, and that woman had seen it. She went to tape number 11, which was the thirteenth in chronological order.

''Today was my last day of beta testing and the anomaly that I've been seeing is nowhere to be found. But after inspecting some of the files, it seems that it's attached itself to these logs. My logs. That can't be an accident. So now I have to make a choice. Do I leave these logs here for you to find or do I try to purge this thing myself by destroying the logs. I've chosen the latter.''

The last day of the deadline before the transfer of the project to Steel Wool seemed unusually quiet, which was not a good sign for Vanny. It seemed to her as if to lure into a false sense of security. She moved on to tape number 12, the fourteenth in chronological order.

''I can't delete them. By creating a protected area to store these logs apart from the game, I effectively gave this thing a safe place to hide itself. It's in here now. I may not be able to delete it. But I might be able to do something else now that it's attached itself. I have an idea.''

Vanny's breathing became heavy. It really was the calm before the storm. Never store glitched files separately from the game, better delete them. She then listened to the fifteenth tape in chronological order, which was previously number 14.

''I ran a fragmentation program on the area of memory that was storing these logs for you. I effectively broke the files into pieces, and broke the anomaly along with it. That means that you won't have my warnings to guide you. But hopefully, it also means that this anomaly, this virus, or whatever it is, will remain broken and unable to do more damage.''

This explained why the tapes were scattered. But what did Glitchtrap want to do? What was his purpose? She listened to the sixteenth and final tape.

''There is a way to get kill it. It wants to escape through someone, someone who has connected to the game, swapping bodies with whoever it's facing. In short, you who are listening to this message. I'll give you the instructions on how to get rid of the anomaly. It can merge with the subconscious of people, and those who have not been possessed by it can go insane and commit suicide, as happened to poor Jeremy. Let it approach you. Let it begin to merge with you. Then press the disconnection button I connected to the stage, play the music by pressing button on the left side of the computer and flip the lever on the left. This will cause a hard restart the game and defeat that thing. It's a risky method, and I don't know if it will permanently destroy that virus, but it will prevent it from escaping.''

Vanny was still very nervous, but maybe she could get rid of Glitchtrap. Fazbear Entertainment wanted this virtual reality game to disprove past incidents and hide the evidence, and they wanted it to be completed as quickly as possible, sending the necessary materials from the chips from the animatronics. However, Jeremy, one of the Silver Parasol Games beta testers, saw Glitchtrap and realized that something was wrong, but despite his terrible nightmares and his warnings, no one believed him, and one day, he went completely insane. To prevent him from escaping through his body, he committed suicide by cutting his face with the guillotine paper slicer in the supply room. The folks at Fazbear Entertainment were furious, as that incident would ruin their plans, and a colleague of Jeremy's who was supposed to take his place for three days found out that they were lying. She also stumbled upon Glitchtrap, proof that Jeremy was right, but despite her attempts to destroy it, she only ended up allowing him to hide in the tapes warning future beta testers, forcing her to separate them. As soon as she finished summing up the whole thing, she got scared when she saw Glitchtrap staring at her. Remembering the instructions on the tape, she managed to defeat him and trapped him in a plushie. Despite this, her influence was slowly driving her insane, and after getting over a secret content, she found a white rabbit mask with blood-red eyes and a creepy smile. At this point, however, unable to handle circumstances, she ended up becoming a reluctant follower of his.

Meanwhile, Fazbear Entertainment created the Fazbear Funtime Service, which could send animatronic clones into people's homes to entertain them. However, due to a virus spreading through their circuits, they became aggressive. On one occasion, a Bonnie clone literally ended up eating a stray cat who lived near a shop. Behind it all was Vanny, blackmailed by Glitchtrap, who threatened to do something terrible to her if she didn't want him to. ''When I first found you, you were nothing. You were small, pathetic. But now, you are more.'' he had told her. Thus, Vanny hacked the animatronic systems and spread Glitchtrap's influence. This caused anti-animatronic sentiment in the population, and dozens of complaints were sent to the company. It was not the first time that Fazbear Entertainment neglected the health of their clients.

Later, the now hugely unpopular Fazbear Entertainment built a three-story restaurant based on a vast shopping mall that also had underground passages, Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex. There were animatronics there too, forming an 80s punk-style band, Glamrock. However, due to the controversy surrounding the animatronic clones from the Fazbear Funtime Service, there were no Glamrock versions of Bonnie and Foxy, replaced by Montgomery Gator, an alligator, and Roxanne Wolf, a wolf, respectively, and since Bonnie wasn't among them, his role had been filled by Glamrock Chica, while Montgomery played the bass and Roxanne played the keytar. One evening, a young boy named Gregory visited the pizzaplex with a group of friends, and they met the animatronics. They were acting normally. That same night, however, the restaurant was mysteriously isolated from the outside, preventing the children from returning to their parents, and a blackout occurred.

Gregory's friends suddenly disappeared, leaving him alone in the dark. When the black out ended, he was alone. He couldn't see his parents nor his friends, and at midnight, walking with the speed of one walking on eggshells, he reached the exit door, but the restaurant closed at that time,at midnight, so he was stuck in here.''No! Wait! I'm still here!'' he cried out in panic. A voice called to him, and he found himself face to face with Vanny. Her stitched suit, the butcher knife she had, her creepy smile, and her blood-red eyes that glowed in the dark only frightened him even more. The woman in the costume told him that he could trust her, but the child was not fooled and ran off to a random room. He could hear Vanny laughing madly, as if Glitchtrap had corrupted her to such an extent that she was no longer that reluctant, and since he wasn't as fast as she was, he often had to temporarily hide behind something before starting to run again, but he found her so close that he seriously risked death. He managed to dodge a stab in the eyes, but the blade of that knife grazed his skin and caused a small cut on his right cheek.

Finding himself in front of a ventilation vent, Gregory had no choice but to crawl into it. Given his small size, the vent was wide enough for him to crawl comfortably, and he moved quickly to leave Vanny behind, but when he reached the museum room, where the green rooms of the animatronics and objects from Fazbear Entertainment's old places, he immediately noticed that something was wrong. The wall of Montgomery's green room was cracked, the neon sign with his name was broken and objects were scattered here and there, as if he had wrecked the room in a fury, plus, there was no one in those rooms . He had left Vanny behind, but he got a nasty fright to see Roxanne chasing him with a red glow in her eyes. ''Help! Someone help me!'' Gregory shouted as Roxanne snarled at him.

He fled to the main hall, where he found a flashlight. He turned it on and saw another robot in front of him,with the appearance of a bear. ''Ah! Don't kill me!'' he cried, covering his face with his hands.

''I won't hurt you.'' said a voice. It was Glamrock Freddy. His voice was deep but not sinister. ''Gregory, it's me, Freddy.

Gregory took his hands off his face. Glamrock Freddy recognized him even though they had only been together for a few minutes. Did he have a facial recognition system? ''Freddy?''

The robot gave him a smile. It wasn't a sadistic smile like Vanny's, but a reassuring one. Suddenly, he noticed the cut on the young boy's cheek and winced. He was bleeding a little. ''You're hurt! You look really scared, Gregory. What happened to you?'' he asked.

Shaking like a leaf, Gregory sighed. ''It's all so confusing... I don't know what happened, but my friends and I got separated and I found myself alone in the dark, then a rabbit lady attacked me with a knife.'' he replied.

''Vanny.'' Glamrock Freddy suddenly said.

''What?''

''Her name is Vanny. I don't know what happened, but I think that it has to do with the blackout and the strange behavior of the robots.''

''I noticed it too. Just a moment ago, I ran away from Roxanne. When I met her with my friends, she didn't act like that.'' Gregory said.

''This is all very suspicious, yes. Vanny also blocked the exits, so you won't be able to get out of the Pizzaplex.'' the robot said.

''Freddy... when Roxanne saw me, she had a red glow in her eyes, and she snarled at me. If so, Chica and Montgomery have a problem too. Were you made like this too after the blackout?'' the child asked.

''No, I managed to escape, I realized what was going on. Neither of us is safe. Monty attacked me while I was trying to escape. I don't know what tampered with the other robots' circuits, but I think it's a virus.'' Glamrock Freddy replied.

Gregory was really scared. ''Don't let them take me... '' he murmured.

''Don't worry. As long as I'm here, you'll be safe.'' Glamrock Freddy said. He held the child close with one arm and put a baid aid on his cheek. With a new ally protecting him, Gregory felt safer, but he was still scared. He walked slowly, holding the robot's hand.

''Gregory, your friends are worried about you. I may have lost my temper earlier, but it won't happen again. It was just a glitch.'' said a voice, which Gregory recognized as Vanny's.

Glamrock Freddy heard her footsteps, opened his stomach hatch and lowered himself. ''Enter my chest cavity, you will be protected in here.(2)'' he said in a whisper.

Gregory went inside, shaking like a leaf in the wind. It was a little cramped, but there was enough space. ''What do we do?'' he asked.

''Shhhhh... Gregory, be still. I think she's found us.'' Glamrock Freddy shushed him in a hushed voice.

They waited for a few seconds and heard Vanny's footsteps getting louder and louder. She was getting nearer. The bear stood still, careful to not make noise, and Vanny, believing Gregory was not there, walked away.

''Is she gone? Can I go out?''

''The coast is clear. You can come out now.''

Gregory came out of his hiding place, but he didn't have the courage to step forward and cried on Glamrock Freddy's shoulder. ''I'm so scared... I want my mommy... '' he whimpered.

''I know it. But stay calm. You're not alone.'' Glamrock Freddy said, hugging the child in an attempt to calm him down.

''How can I stay calm when I got almost killed?'' Gregory asked.

''Because I will protect you. I will accompany you through the various rooms, and as long as I am with you, no one will be able to harm you. However, some places are too small, and only you will be able to access them. The Pizzaplex will reopen in six hours.'' the bear replied.

''Six hours?! I won't even last five minutes, how do you think I can survive here for six hours?!'' Gregory snapped.

''Do not panic. You should be able to escape when the security doors open at 6 AM. Until then, keep moving and try not to draw attention to yourself. If there is another way out, I will help you find it. I promise. At the moment there is no choice but to check what is happening here.'' replied the bear.

(''Prologue- The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past OST'')

Back in the museum area, Gregory looked around nervously. There were no robots, but he saw a young woman walking around the room with a flashlight, and not trusting her, he hid behind Glamrock Freddy's back. ''Who is she?'' he asked him.

''I think she's a security guard. I'm a little skeptical about her, but I've seen her a couple of times recently, and she's wandering around the pizzaplex looking for something important. Aside from her and Vanny, I haven't seen any other people, so I guess she's the only one you could trust. She's definitely looking for you or your missing friends.'' Glamrock Freddy replied.

The nightguard, named Vanessa, saw Gregory and gasped. ''I finally found one of the missing children!'' she exclaimed. ''You're Gregory, aren't you?''

Gregory nodded, a little unsure, but didn't answer. ''Yes, it's Gregory. He's still troubled by what he's been through so far, and he can't get out because the Pizzaplex has been isolated from the outside. I don't think he trusts you, he doesn't know you.'' Glamrock Freddy replied for him.

''I don't blame him. Anyone would be scared to death to see out-of-control robots and someone running around with a butcher knife in their hand. Strange things have been going on for days. First several children started going missing, then there was a blackout and now the robots are acting strangely. Gregory, we can get you out of here. You and me, together.'' Vanessa said.

''But how are we going to do it?'' Gregory asked, not knowing what to do.

''If Gregory explores the place carefully, we may find out something.'' replied the nightguard.

Gregory felt short of breath for an instant. ''No! Gregory is a kid, he can't go around the place like that, Vanny will kill him, and if not her, the other robots will!'' Glamrock Freddy objected.

''I know, but we don't have many options. There are a few areas in the pizzaplex that we can't access, and Gregory is the only one small enough to explore these areas. I am aware of the danger, but we have no choice, and even if Vanny were responsible for all of this, we don't have the clues to prove it, nor do we have a way to stop her. We'll split up so we can find out what's going on.'' Vanessa said, noticing the robot's expression.

Glamrock Freddy sighed. ''OK, but I still don't trust this. The last thing I want to do is put Gregory in danger after several other children have disappeared.'' he said.

''As much as this frightens me, it doesn't seem to me that we have alternatives. How can I avoid Vanny and the robots without getting caught?'' Gregory asked.

Glamrock Freddy gave Gregory a specially designed watch with Freddy ears. ''Here, take this watch. It's a Faz-Watch.''

''The watch is connected to a camera system and a map. There are several cameras along the rooms, and if you look at them carefully, you will be able to tell if animatronics or other threats are approaching you or not. You can also use it to record documents or emails that might help us understand more about what's going on, check Glamrock Freddy's status, or communicate with me. I see you have a flashlight with you, and the watch will also help you check its battery.(3)'' Vanessa said. "We have to get you out by morning, there is more going on than you realize."

''Yes, and Vanny and the robots are hunting you. If I am with you, I will protect you from them and allow you to enter my chest cavity when they get close, but I'm not always available and I can't access some areas. To avoid them when I'm not with you, you will have to look around with the flashlight, move without making too much noise and hide. Without my protection, this will be the only way to get out of it alive. If they spot you, take refuge in the nearest room or in a place where only you can access, such as ball pits, but if there are no places to hide, they will kill you before you can even call for help. To get started, go to the daycare area. The animatronic here has a dual personality: if the lights are on, he is known as Sun, and if the room is dark, he becomes Moon. He is supposed to take care of young children, but he fears his Moon form, the purpose of which is to take the children out at closing time, but the children are afraid of him, and recently, he has become more aggressive, he may try to kill you too. Attacking guests, especially children, is not in their program, and they are not themselves. We will try to find out more, but do not attack them. Now go, superstar.''

Gregory nodded and walked into a room, and Vanessa took another direction, while the robot stayed behind.

Glamrock Freddy stayed in the main hall to try to distract his bandmates and keep them from chasing Gregory, who was wandering around the restaurant with caution. Some small robots weren't lethal, but if they saw him, they caused a diversion by setting off the alarm, which could alert Montgomery, Roxanne, and Chica. The place was haunted by a clown-looking robot, with a moon-shaped head, a night cap and pajamas. ''Naughty boy. It's past your bed time, you should be punished.'' he mumbled, and he, with agile jumps, began to chase him. Frightened, the child looked around and saw the five generators on the facilities where the children could play. Continuing cautiously, he turned on the generators, avoiding Moon's assaults, and the robot changed shape, turning yellow, with a sun-shaped head.

''Hello, little friend! Did you turn on the lights?'' asked Sun, hopping around him.

''Yes, it was me.'' replied Gregory.

''And it's a good thing you did! You know, I'm afraid of becoming Moon. When the children are with me, my only rule is to keep the lights on.'' said Sun. ''You were afraid of Moon, weren't you? Weren't you? Weren't you?''

Gregory began to feel uncomfortable. Sun was too hyperactive and did not know the concept of personal space. ''Sorry, I can't talk! Gotta go!'' he cut short, leaving the room.

Vanessa also explored the place, being careful not to get spotted by the animatronics. Checking her watch, he saw that it was 1 AM already. At a go-kart-themed attraction with Roxanne as a mascot, he found a sheet of paper and realized it was one of her documents, talking about a virus. ''Gregory, this is Vanessa. Can you hear me?'' she asked, sending a video message to Gregory.

Gregory's image appeared on the clock screen. ''Yes. I'm in the kitchen. Chica is here, but I managed to avoid her.'' he replied.

''Gregory, it's as I feared. The robots have been hacked by a virus, and Vanny is responsible. Before I was hired here as a security guard, I was the senior IT representative at Fazbear Entertainment, and my colleague Luis often worried about suspicious security breaches.(4) Several animatronic clones from the past had been tampered with by a virus, and I immediately ruled out the hypothesis that they might be possessed by child spirits or had a malfunction. If that were the case, then they should only be aggressive towards adults, but then Roxanne attacked you. I recently analyzed Glamrock Freddy, and he also has traces of that virus.'' Vanessa said, noticing that Gregory was shocked. ''But don't worry, he's handled it surprisingly well so far, and he wants to get you out of here at all costs. Keep exploring the Pizzaplex, if you can find other documents and record them in your watch, we can find out more about the situation.'' she then added, reassuring him.

''I'll do my best.''

''Good. Watch out for the robots and Vanny, they have several tricks. I'll see you later.''

The video message ended. After avoiding Moon a few times during the night, Gregory went to Monty Golf, based on a swamp golf course with Montgomery as a mascot, and the alligator was chasing him, eager to bash his head with his bass. He even yelled at other robots to catch him for him. However, through his watch, the child checked his position, used the flashlight from time to time to explore the dark area, and hid in the ball pit in case the robots got too close. At one point, towards the exit, he found a small piece of paper. ''When fear takes hold and reality fails, the stage is set and insanity prevails.'' he read. He couldn't figure out what it meant, but he was sure it was a clue, so he continued exploring the restaurant under Glamrock Freddy's protection and traversing alone the areas where he couldn't follow him. At one time he found himself in one of the offices, but he got stuck, and he had to wait for Glamrock Freddy to arrive in the room directly below him to detach a grate, and when he gave him the signal, he jumped down, landing in the arms of the bear that had saved his life. After finding more pieces of paper that contained other clues, he returned to the main hall and looked at his watch. It was 3 AM. He knew it was awfully past his bedtime, and the fact that he hadn't come home yet would have worried his parents, all the more reason to get out of the Pizzaplex as soon as possible.

''Gregory! Are you all right?'' Glamrock Freddy asked.

''I'm OK, Freddy. I found this.'' Gregory replied, handing him the piece of paper. ''Do you think it means something?''

Glamrock Freddy looked at the piece of paper and was intrigued by the message. ''I don't know, but this message is curious.'' he said. ''I can't quite understand what that means, but it's definitely a clue as to what we're looking for, I'm sure. Maybe the nightguard understands more of that than we do.'' he said.

''I just hope to get out of here as soon as possible. It's very late, and I should be in bed at this hour.''

''Don't you have a home or a family?'' Glamrock Freddy asked.

''No, Freddy. My father abandoned me when I was very young, and my mother and I don't have a fixed home because we don't have the money to afford it. She works all the time, so he's largely absent, and I had to learn to fend for myself early on while living on the street. When I got here with my friends, I sneaked in because I didn't even have the money to buy a pass, so no one has any information about me.'' Gregory explained.

Glamrock Freddy stopped in shock, but soon after he felt bad for his little friend. His initial shock gave way to sadness, and he looked at him with his top hat in his hands. ''You're homeless? Oh, Gregory, I'm sorry. I'm truly sorry. You know what? I will let Vanessa know, then we will do what we can to help you. We will take you back to your mother and do everything we can to help you.'' ''And we'll take you home.''

Gregory smiled. ''Thank you, Freddy.''

Suddenly, Glamrock Freddy's expression changed to horror. ''Gregory, behind you!'' he shouted.

Gregory turned and saw Vanny, who grabbed him by the wrist. ''Don't worry, Gregory, you will see your friends very soon.'' She said, dragging him away.

''No! Let go of me! Freddy! Freddy, help me!'' Gregory yelled.

The animatronic bear chased after Vanny in an attempt to rescue the child, but he was too slow for her. ''Let him go, you psycho!'' he shouted at her.

''Oh, he won't die. But he will wish he could '' Vanny replied, dragging Gregory to an elevator.

''FREDDY!'' Gregory screamed, before the elevator closed.

Vanessa saw what was happening too, and she gasped in shock. ''Gregory!'' she exclaimed, as the elevator went down, with Gregory and Vanny inside.

''No! Gregory! Gregory!'' Glamrock Freddy cried out. There was nothing he could do, and he had had to witness it all.

Vanessa couldn't believe what had just happened. That woman in the rabbit costume could have traumatized that poor boy and imprisoned him, or worse, killed him. ''I have to save him, or he will die.'' she thought. She turned his gaze to Glamrock Freddy and immediately noticed his very sad expression.

''I... I couldn't protect you... I'm so sorry, Gregory...'' the bear murmured, kneeling in despair. He didn't know what Vanny would do to Gregory, but he was sure that she would gladly kill him.

Looking the animatronic bear in the face, Vanessa thought she saw tears peeping into his blue eyes. Seeing the elevator return to the main hall, she thought it wasn't over yet. ''Freddy, get it together! He is not dead. Maybe there is still some hope. We can still save him.'' she said.

''I don't know. That psycho probably kidnapped him and took him underground.'' Glamrock Freddy murmured.

''We'll free Gregory and get him out of here, or else I'm not a nightguard.'' Vanessa replied. "If they find out that a child died here during closing time, they will fire me. But I know Gregory, he's smarter than you think.''

''He... he gave me this.''

The nightguard took the piece of paper from Glamrock Freddy's hand and gasped. She had the solution to everything. '' Freddy! I just remembered something! I have to go to the control room! You go find Gregory!'' he told him.

The animatronic stood up. ''I will save him. See you later, Vanessa.'' he said, entering the elevator.

Gregory didn't know how long he had been passed out, but when he woke up, he had a severe headache. He looked at his watch and saw that it was half past four. This shocked him. He had been unconscious for over an hour! It was past 4 AM already, and he wasn't home yet! Seeing a large iron gate that prevented him from escaping, he realized he was imprisoned. He discarded all the nonsense ideas that went through his head and tried to climb up to get to the other side, but he wasn't very good at climbing and fell halfway through. ''I can't stay here anymore! I have to escape!'' he thought. He looked around and saw what appeared to be his salvation. A ventilation vent! He climbed and crawled into the ventilation vent until he reached a room in the underground areas of the pizzaplex. Being alone, he continued on and saw a videotape. He turned it on and heard a female voice.

''Yes, I hear you. I know ... No. There's no miscommunication... I understand... Yes, I have it. I made it myself. I think you'd like it... No, no one suspects anything... Don't worry, I'll be ready, and I won't let you down. It will be fun...'' said the voice.

Gregory felt his heart leap in his throat. That voice was familiar. It was Vanny. He listened again, and this time, he heard a very strange sound, almost like an ultrasound. He made his way with the flashlight and advanced cautiously, but still very frightened: Montgomery, Roxanne, Glamrock Chica and Vanny were coming out of all directions, and Monty even smashed an iron gate, which made his hair stand on end. He checked the cameras carefully and went on in silence until he found a piece of paper with a series of numbers. He'd seen enough science fiction movies with his family to realize it was a code. He quickly recorded it in his watch, and remembering that Glamrock Freddy had told him that the back doors of the animatronic green rooms led to the maintenance area, located in the basement, he searched for these areas. He hadn't heard from Vanessa again, and he didn't know where Glamrock Freddy was. He sent Vanessa what he had discovered and went on, shaken and frightened. ''Where are you, Freddy?'' he murmured. Suddenly, he saw Moon. ''Oh, no! That moon thing!'' he exclaimed, pointing his flashlight at him. Moon returned to Sun form, and after that he gave him a sorry look, then left.

Suddenly, the child heard laughter behind him. Vanny was there, and animatronics were with her as well. ''I found you, Gregory. Nice try, but you won't get away from me.'' she said. ''Get him!'' she then ordered.

Scared as ever, Gregory ran as fast as he could to every room he could, chased by the animatronics and by Vanny, who kept giving them orders to catch him and kill him. He could at best force them to slow down by pushing some objects to try to trip them, but he felt that the more he ran, the closer they got, and hiding was a bad idea. ''Help! Someone help me!'' he yelled. His heart was pounding, but he didn't dare stop.

''Get back here, you brat!'' Roxanne shouted.

''I'll bite your head off, you little pest!'' Montgomery yelled.

''You won't run away!'' Glamrock Chica added.

Gregory spotted some spare parts on the shelves and immediately opened a door that led him into Glamrock Freddy's green room and the museum area. Vanny and the animatronics were slowly approaching as they passed the green rooms. He ran into the main hall, pushed some chairs down to try to slow them down, and hid under a table. Unfortunately, Monty destroyed it seconds later with a kick, robbing him of his cover. He had never been so scared in his life, and he began to retreat. He felt he would pass out from putting his heart under strain.

''Now we've got you, you little freak.'' Montgomery said.

"This time Freddy won't come to save you." Glamrock Chica said.

''And now you will die!'' Roxanne yelled.

''Kill him.'' Vanny ordered.

Gregory found himself directly in front of a series of tables. He had no escape, and he was sure it would be the end for him. He could see Vanny, her knife raised and ready to stop his heart, Roxanne with claws raised and Montgomery with mouth open, all eager to kill him. He closed his eyes, screaming loudly. ''HELP! FREDDY! FREDDY! FREDDY, HELP ME!''

''LET HIM GO!'' a voice roared. The robots gasped. It was Glamrock Freddy, who had come to protect Gregory. He punched Montgomery, pushed Glamrock Chica away, kicked Vanny in the face and hit Roxanne in the muzzle with his elbow, then hit them all with his microphone stand and stood in front of Gregory, forming a protective shield for him.

''Stay out of this, Freddy!'' Monty shouted angrily.

''Step aside!'' Roxanne added. Even Vanny seemed on the verge of a nervous breakdown.

''Silence! If you dare to put even a finger on him, I'll make you pay!'' Glamrock Freddy threatened. He looked really angry.

''You dare to take the protections of that little pest?'' Glamrock Chica challenged him.

''Don't think it's over, you two. My master will be back soon, and it will be the end for you.'' Vanny said.

''Then we will kill him!'' Monty said.

''ABSOLUTELY NOT! That young boy will have nightmares for the rest of his life because of you! Now clear off!'' Glamrock Freddy yelled.

''Fine, we'll go!'' Glamrock Chica said irritably, and Vanny left with the other animatronics.

He didn't know how, but Gregory could still feel his heart beating fast. The hand that took him by the wrist and helped him up from the ground was metallic, but gentle at the same time. Still frightened, he opened his eyes and saw Glamrock Freddy's worried face. ''Oh, Gregory... I was so worried about you, I thought they did something terrible to you.'' Glamrock Freddy said, picking him in his arms.

''Freddy... thank you... I thought they were gonna kill me...'' Gregory murmured, throwing his arms around his robotic neck.

''I know, but you're okay now, the rest doesn't matter. Nobody's going to hurt you, not while I'm here.'' Glamrock Freddy whispered.

At those words, the child calmed down, feeling safe. Was this what it felt like to be hugged by a father? It seemed so to him, because he noticed that the animatronic bear was acting almost fatherly with him.

Vanessa came into the room and saw Gregory in Glamrock Freddy's arms. ''Gregory! Thank goodness you're alright!'' she exclaimed, breathing a sigh of relief. ''I saw Vanny drag you into the elevator. What happened? I tried to call you, but you didn't answer!''

''I must have taken a blow to the head. I had a big headache when I woke up. I was locked in an iron gate in the underground areas, but I managed to escape through the vents and sent you some clues that I found.'' Gregory said.

''Nicely done, Gregory. What you have found will be essential to us. I've developed something that will help us rid robots of the virus.'' Vanessa said.

''And how are we going to do it?'' the child asked.

''Go to the space-themed control room on the third floor, near the roof. It's located next to the offices. When you get there, I'll tell you what to do.'' said the nightguard. '' Freddy, you stay with Gregory. If you didn't reach him in time, he would be dead. Stay close to them and keep protecting them in case they come back again. ''

''Of course.'' Glamrock Freddy said. ''Come on, Gregory, let's go.''

''My poor heart will not be able to endure all this...'' Gregory murmured.

''Don't worry. Hold on tight to me and you'll be fine.'' Glamrock Freddy reassured him. ''The nightguard said we need to get you out of here before dawn, and it's 5 AM now. We have to resolve everything as soon as possible.''

Glamrock Freddy took the elevator to the third floor and explored the corridors quickly but carefully, with Gregory on his shoulders. He just had to watch out for Vanny and the robots and hide Gregory in his chest cavity in case they got too close. Arriving at the terrace, he found the offices a short distance away. ''We're here, Gregory.'' he said, placing Gregory on the ground. Suddenly, he began to shake, as if he had a short circuit, and his eyes suddenly turned red.

''What's wrong, Freddy?'' Gregory asked, taken aback.

''I believe the virus is slowly starting to get stronger. I've managed to hold on so far, but the more time passes, the stronger it gets. The others are almost like animals, but I am very aware. Fix this problem as soon as possible, before I get aggressive too.'' Glamrock Freddy replied.

(''Navigation Room- Metroid Fusion OST'')

Entering the control room, Gregory saw the different monitors indicating the various rooms and sent a message to Vanessa. ''This is Gregory. I've reached the control room. '' He said.

''Good job, Gregory. From this room, you can keep an eye on the entire Pizzaplex. I have completed the program for an antivirus that will allow us to free the robots that are Vanny's control. Freddy is currently the only one who hasn't been completely corrupted, so we can keep him from being consumed by the virus if we hurry. Thanks to the code you sent me, we can activate the antivirus. I will dictate the sequence of numbers that you will have to enter via the computer in front of you. Once that is done, you can install the antivirus.'' Vanessa said.

''I'm ready.''

''The code is as follows: 2-5-1-2-4-1-3-5-6-4-8-1-9-6-2-1-2-3-5-3-7-4.''

Gregory typed the code and the computer started installing the antivirus. ''It works! Now we can free them! '' he exclaimed.

''Great job, Gregory. The antivirus will become active shortly. Glamrock Freddy wants Glamrock Chica, Montgomery and Roxanne to go to the main hall. See you there.'' Vanessa said.

Gregory quickly reached the elevator and returned to the ground floor. He noticed that the pizzaplex was terribly quiet, and when he returned to the main hall, everyone was waiting for him. There were also Glamrock Chica, Montgomery and Roxanne, but they no longer had that red glow in their eyes.

''You did it, superstar! Thanks to the antivirus, you managed to free all the robots!'' Glamrock Freddy said, ruffling his messy hair.

''We make a good team, Gregory.'' Vanessa said, and Gregory nodded.

''Freddy, what happened? I felt so weird.'' Glamrock Chica asked.

''Yeah, we looked as feral as wolves.'' Roxanne added.

''You were corrupted by Vanny via a virus. I managed to keep control, but you got aggressive and tried to kill Gregory on multiple occasions. He met us this evening before the blackout, and through an antivirus designed by the nightguard, he managed to free you from her control.'' Glamrock Freddy explained.

Glamrock Chica was incredulous. ''Gregory... thanks for setting us free. I can't believe I've done all this, we were aware.'' she said.

Montgomery walked over to Gregory and raised his star-shaped sunglasses. ''Me neither. Thanks, I guess.'' he told him.

''No problem. But I didn't do anything.'' Gregory replied.

''Gregory gave us several clues that helped us understand who Vanny is and why she did all this.'' Glamrock Freddy said.

''And we have the answer. Vanny, who tampered with you with a virus, has serious mental problems. According to a piece of paper that Gregory found, ''When fear takes hold and reality fails, the stage is set and insanity prevails'', and he also found out that she's working for someone. I decoded the voice in the videotape he sent me via his watch and I found out that she's acting under someone's orders. And that someone is a virus named Glitchtrap.'' Vanessa said.

''What? Why?'' asked Glamrock Chica.

''Glitchtrap is not a common virus. I found out that he is the reincarnation of an infanticidal serial killer who lived many years ago, William Afton. He died inside the costume of an animatronic from the past, Spring Bonnie, and he's so associated with him that scanning his circuitry has reincarnated him in this virus personified in the Spring Bonnie suit. His son Michael had to deal with the consequences of his father's actions and freed the souls of the children he had killed, but he died a few years ago in a fire. Vanny had confronted Glitchtrap to prevent him from escaping the game he was in by using her body, and she had managed to trap him in a plushie, but his influence had a particular effect on her, and at one point, she lost her inner struggle and succumbed to his control.'' explained the nightguard.

''That explains why she went around with a huge knife.'' Gregory said.

''Yes, but that's not all.'' Glamrock Freddy said.

(''Final Hours- The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask OST'')

''Gregory, remember when I said we have to get you out of here by dawn?'' Vanessa asked, and the young boy nodded. ''Vanny caused tonight's blackout, kidnapped the children and sabotaged the animatronics on Glitchtrap's orders. She kidnapped the children to kill them and use them to resurrect him. We have to get you all to escape before 6 AM because at dawn, Vanny will use the souls of the children in a dark ritual to free Glitchtrap from his prison, making him corporeal and thus resurrecting William Afton, who will then burn the entire pizzaplex, built on top of the remains of a pizzeria burned down by a fire. The ritual will take place in the underground areas, and at 6 AM, Glitchtrap will be able to escape, as the restaurant will open again. It's ten past five at the moment, we don't have much time.(5)'' she explained.

Glamrock Chica gasped. ''Guys, I just remembered something! I have to go to the dungeons!'' she said.

''Chica, no! Vanny will destroy you!'' Glamrock Freddy exclaimed.

''But Freddy, the children are in danger! I have to save them!'' Glamrock Chica replied. ''Vanny's lair is in the sewers, and the children are locked up there. I'll go ahead. We'll meet up there.'' After that, she left through her green room.

Gregory was very nervous. He didn't want Glamrock Chica to sacrifice herself. ''I don't like how this will turn out...'' he murmured.

''If we act quickly, we can still stop them. Let's hurry!'' Roxanne said.

''I cannot allow Afton to return. He killed too many children, and it's his fault that all these tragedies happened!'' Glamrock Freddy snapped. This time, his voice lacked that usual reassuring warmth, but it sounded almost sinister.

''Do you know William Afton?'' Vanessa asked.

''No, but something inside me reminds me of him. But there is no time to explain. We need to save the children and get them out of here!'' Glamrock Freddy declared.

The six ran to the dungeons, where however, they found bloodstains in the places where the children were imprisoned, and believed that maybe it was too late. When they reached the sewers. Gregory was disgusted by the stench of filth in the area, but fell silent, and Vanessa checked her watch every fifteen seconds, worried that dawn might come any moment. They came to a dark area, where Montgomery spotted something, and gasped to see what it was. It was Glamrock Chica. Her beak was missing, and several parts of her body had cracks.

''Chica! Chica, are you okay?!'' Glamrock Freddy exclaimed, kneeling in front of her.

''I'm- I'm sorry... I should have expected this to happen...'' Glamrock Chica coughed. Her voice box was damaged, and she had suffered severe damage.

''The children. Are they all dead?'' Vanessa asked.

''Almost all of them... I managed to get some of Gregory's friends to safety, but the other children have already been sacrificed... The children I saved are in the main hall, but Vanny... she overwhelmed me...'' the chicken said.

''Save your strength, Chica.'' Montgomery said.

''You're badly damaged. Go to the maintenance area and get back on your feet there. We'll try to stop Vanny.'' Glamrock Freddy said.

''Okay... Gregory, you better survive tonight or else we'll have your death on our conscience.'' Glamrock Chica said.

Gregory nodded with tears in his eyes. He was silent, too shocked to say anything, but Glamrock put a hand on his shoulder. ''Everything will be fine.'' he told him.

''They'll pay for this, Gregory, you'll see.'' Monty added.

''We're almost there! Vanny's lair is over there!'' Roxanne said, and they reached a closed door. Vanessa tried to open it with a lockpick, to no avail.

''What do we do now?'' Gregory asked.

''I'll break it down. Everyone, stay back. ''Montgomery replied. The others backed away, and the robotic alligator hit the door with his shoulder, smashing it.

''This is it, Gregory. Let's go in.'' Vanessa said.

When the five entered, Gregory suddenly jumped. There were souls around Vanny, who was laughing madly. ''You arrived too late. I've collected enough souls to complete the ritual, and now William Afton will be back!'' she sneered.

''No!'' Glamrock Freddy shouted in horror.

Suddenly, what appeared to be a mutated purple rabbit appeared. His hands had long claws, his mouth was full of terribly sharp fangs. Seeing him, Gregory let out a terrible scream. ''What is that thing?!'' he screamed.

''I don't know, but I think it's Glitchtrap's new physical body!'' Vanessa replied.

Glitchtrap didn't even give Vanny a nod of thanks. ''Free, at last! And now, this child will die too, and then this place will burn!'' he shouted, laughing madly, then the two disappeared.

''Drat! He's about to escape!'' Montgomery yelled. ''Where did they go?!''

In a panic, Gregory quickly checked the cameras from the watch and saw Vanny and Glitchtrap in the control room. ''They're in the control room!'' he replied.

''We gotta hurry, there's no time to waste!'' Vanessa exclaimed, and the five ran as quickly as possible to the animatronic green rooms, hoping to get to the third floor in time.

The rush to the third floor was frantic, and Glamrock Freddy, carrying Gregory in his arms, dared not look back. When they got into the elevator, Roxanne immediately hit the button, and when they got to the third floor, they didn't waste a moment getting out, even though they were tight. ''Let's hurry, before they set the pizzaplex on fire!'' Vanessa said. From the windows, she could see that the sky was getting lighter and taking on a whitish-orange hue. It was almost dawn.

They entered the control room, and saw Glitchtrap in his physical body. ''You won't stop me from escaping. I ALWAYS COME BACK!'' he declared.

''Look, Freddy!'' Roxanne exclaimed, and everyone turned.

''Sorry for keeping you waiting! I've brought backup!'' said a female voice. It was Glamrock Chica. She had her beak again and had recovered, but her arms still had minor damage. Behind her was Sun .

''Chica? What are you doing here?'' Gregory asked.

''I couldn't leave you guys. I called Sun to ask them to help us, and he accepted. After what you've done for us, Gregory, it's time for us to return the favor.'' Glamrock Chica replied.

(''Omega Metroid Boss- Metroid: Samus Returns OST'')

Suddenly, Glitchtrap took a mysterious box with two locks and destroyed them both, opening it. ''No! Not the box!'' Glamrock Freddy shouted.

''What? What does that mean?'' Vanessa asked.

From the box came four monstrous animatronics similar to Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy, all with claws and fangs like Glitchtrap's physical body. They were the Nightmare animatronics. Gregory let out a terrible scream as they roared at him.

''We can't physically hurt Glitchtrap! Gregory, take this taser and pull the trigger with your finger to fire a controlled shock when he comes close to you, and you will paralyze him! I'll try to upgrade the antivirus to destroy him!'' Vanessa said, handing Gregory a taser.

'' I will try to distract them! You think about attacking!'' Sun told the Glamrocks.

''Gregory, hide! If they attack you, you'll be dead before you scream for help!'' Glamrock Chica said.

The child hid behind the furniture and waited for his chance. Nightmare Chica attacked Montgomery, but it turned out to be a bad choice, as the physical strength of the alligator animatronic was high, and he used his bass as a weapon, while also getting some help by Glamrock Freddy and Roxanne, who then hit Vanny. Taking advantage of the fact that the Glamrocks were distracted, Glitchtrap attempted to attack Gregory with his claws, but the child immediately released a controlled shock, paralyzing him and revealing his former appearance. Sunrise and Moondrop leaped around him, while Glamrock Freddy and Montgomery kicked and punched him.

''How are we going to do those things?'' Gregory asked, barely avoiding another attack from Glitchtrap and hitting him again with a control shock.

''It looks like they come from that box. We have to seal them in there somehow!'' Roxanne replied.

Using the controlled shock, Gregory was able to paralyze all the Nightmares, leaving them open to attack, but the Glamrocks took damage. Roxanne and Montgomery were hit in the chest by Nightmare Foxy's hook, while Glamrock Freddy, to protect the child from Nightmare Freddy and Nightmare Bonnie, was bitten in the head.

''We won't let you escape, you loathsome bunny!'' Montgomery yelled.

Suddenly, Glamrock Chica sensed something. Fire? ''Oh, no! The Pizzaplex is on fire! Glitchtrap set the place on fire!'' she exclaimed. ''Sun,, tell the other robots to get water from the kitchen and stop the fire before it destroys the place, quick!''

''Got it!'' said Sun,, leaving the battle.

Nightmare Foxy tried to attack Glamrock Chica and hit her a couple of times, but Roxanne bit him, Montgomery threw him in the air with an uppercut and Glamrock Freddy kicked him away. To protect Gregory, they had taken a considerable amount of damage: Glamrock Freddy had a damaged head, Roxanne had a couple of exposed wires in the back area, the damage to Glamrock Chica's arms had worsened and Montgomery's chest had small cracks, but the bear was the most damaged, as he continually parried in front of little Gregory.

Suddenly, with a snap of his fingers, Glitchtrap forced three souls out of Glamrock Chica, Roxanne and Montgomery Gator and absorbed them. It was two little girls and a boy, and Glamrock Freddy was shocked. ''Elizabeth? Charlie?'' he murmured.

Suddenly, Gregory understood. ''You're possessed by Michael Afton!'' he said.

Glamrock Freddy nodded. ''I am. But we'll talk about it later.(6)'' Glamrock Freddy replied.

Glitchtrap walked over to Vanny. ''A puppet that can no longer be used is mere garbage. She's done her work, and now she'no longer needed.'' he said, referring to her. There was no gratitude in his voice. He hit her on the head with a backhand, knocking her out. ''The role of that puppet is over.''

Gregory continued to use the taser against those nightmare monsters, but remained hidden to avoid further attacks. Suddenly, Glamrock Chica saw the box. ''Gregory, the Nightmares are weakened! Open the box and seal them in there!'' she told him.

Nodding, Gregory ran to the box. ''Go back where you came from, you monsters!'' he shouted, opening it. The Nightmares roared as the box sealed them. Glamrock Freddy then punched and kicked it until there was nothing left of it.

''How's it going with that antivirus?'' Glamrock Chica asked Vanessa.

''It's almost finished, distract him a little longer!'' Vanessa replied, as the update continued. It was 80%.

Smelling the stench of smoke from the neighboring rooms, Gregory looked at his watch and panicked. ''6 AM! Let's hurry before the pizzaplex is destroyed!'' he exclaimed. Glitchtrap attempted to attack him with his claws, but the animatronics pushed him away before he could even scratch him. None of them knew how the other robots were doing with the fire, but they hoped it hadn't spread too far.

Glitchtrap used his powers, and Freddy grasped his headd in pain, feeling strange. ''Ah! My head!'' he exclaimed.

''What's going on?'' asked Gregory, frightened.

''Gregory, stay back! No one should get closer!'' ordered Glamrock Freddy. His eyes turned purple.

"I think he's trying to corrupt him! Be careful!'' said Vanessa.

Glitchtrap commanded Glamrock Freddy to attack, and the bear began to move slowly. ''Freddy, you're not yourself! Snap out of it!'' said Gregory. The bear raised his hand to try to hit him with his claws, but Gregory dodged.

''Gregory, Freddy is not in himself! Try to call him!'' said Montgomery.

Gregory hid under a desk and dodged Glamrock Freddy's attempts to bite him, then his strong metal hands grabbed him, causing him a lot of pain. He felt that his arm would break at any moment. ''Freddy, don't do that! It's me, Gregory! You are stronger than this! Wake up!'' he shouted.

Suddenly, Glamrock Freddy gave up his grip on Gregory and firmly took his head, feeling short of breath. His eyes were blue again, and they opened wide seeing the child, leading him to fuss about him. ''Gregory! Oh, what did I do? I could have killed you! You're fine, aren't you? Did I hurt you?'' he asked, very worried.

''It's nothing broken, Freddy. Let's put an end to all this, come on.'' replied Gregory.

Vanessa began to swear under her breath, very stressed that time was running out. They had to destroy Glitchtrap and escape, but the upgrade was at 91%. ''Come on, hurry up...!'' she mumbled.

The final confrontation continued, but Gregory was overwhelmed, losing his taser. He tried to take him back, but Glitchtrap slammed him against the wall with his supernatural powers. ''And now you die!'' he said, ready to finish it. Gregory covered his face with his hands and closed his eyes, waiting for death in fear. None of the other animatronics could react in time, he thought.

But he was wrong. ''GREGORY!'' Glamrock Freddy had thrown himself in front of him with his whole body, holding him to his chest with his welcoming and protective arms like a father shielding his son. Just moments later, a sound of destroyed metal was heard, and Vanessa, Chica, Monty and Roxanne turned around, shocked.

The reincarnation of William Afton had hit Glamrock Freddy in the back with his sharp claws, and screws and metal parts began to come out of the sore robot from the inside. When Glitchtrap pulled out his claws, the bear fell to his knees, in pain.

''Nooooo!'' Gregory screamed, horrified.

''Gregory... Y-You... you are my... superstar...'' said Glamrock Freddy. Because of the damage he suffered, his voice was strange, as if his voice box was damaged. ''please... s-s-save yourself... -Gregory...''

''Freddy! Freddy, wake up! Freddy!'' shouted Gregory, shaking the animatronic bear's head. Seeing that he did not get up, he cried as he begged him to open his eyes and get up. Hearing him cry, Vanessa was shocked, Montgomery trembled with anger and seemed on the verge of breaking something, Chica seemed as if she was about to cry and Roxanne was in a fighting position.

Glitchtrap laughed madly. ''I killed Freddy Fazbear! I killed Freddy Fazbear!'' he said in a mocking tone.

Chica stood in front of Gregory. ''If you want to kill Gregory, you'll have to pass over our wreckage!'' he declared, clinging to him from the right side.

''We won't listen to you this time!'' shouted Roxanne, to Gregory's left.

''Freddy is a rival to me, but I will no longer be your puppet!'' roared Montgomery, grabbing Glitchtrap by the ear and slamming him to the ground before stomping him and biting him in different places.

Finally, the update ended. ''There we go! Now we can destroy that virus!'' she said, arming herself with her taser.

The antivirus began to spread around the room. ''Let's do it!'' Montgomery exclaimed.

The robots continued to attack Glitchtrap, which had been paralyzed by the controlled shock released by Vanessa's taser. To everyone's surprise, Glamrock Freddy got up again. ''Freddy! I thought you had left me!'' Gregory said happily.

''Robots don't die, they just shut down, dear Gregory.'' said Glamrock Freddy, joining the fight.

After Roxanne lunged at Glitchtrap, and Montgomery hit him in the head, causing one of his chips to fall of the ground. William Afton's digital reincarnation started screaming things like hatred of Michael. ''You won't hurt anyone anymore, Father!'' Glamrock Freddy shouted. ''No child will be killed by you anymore! This time, take a hint and stay dead!'' He lifted his leg and stomped the chip with all his strength. With the chip destroyed, Glitchtrap screamed again and then exploded, releasing sparks and wires across the room, and the souls ascended into the sky, free again.

Gregory's legs felt terribly heavy, and he fell to his knees. ''Is it over?'' he asked in a whisper.

''It's all over, Gregory. Glitchtrap was destroyed. Now we can get you out of here.'' Vanessa told him.

''I have to admit, you did a great job.'' Roxanne said.

Sun returned to the control room. ''Here I am! We managed to put out the fire thanks to the collaboration between all the robots, but some areas were damaged. The maintainers will put everything back in place.'' he said.

''Thanks, Sun.'' Glamrock Chica told him.

Suddenly, Vanny rose from the ground in silence. ''Show us your face.'' Glamrock Freddy ordered her.

Vanny took off her mask, revealing her true face. ''But... She is just like me!'' exclaimed Vanessa, shocked. In fact, Vanny the same blonde hair as her, her same build, and was generally almost identical to her, like a half-apple, except that Vanny had colorful hair extensions, and while Vanessa's eyes were apple green, Vanny's eyes were darker, almost yellow. ''What... what happened?'' she asked. She looked quite confused and disoriented.

''Glitchtrap possessed you, that's what.'' Vanessa replied.

''I remember now. I don't know how it happened, but Glitchtrap has started to take control of me. I was a beta tester for a virtual reality game, and that virus wanted to escape the game through my body. I managed to imprison him, but it didn't stop his influence.'' she said.

''Then why didn't you rebel?'' Glamrock Chica asked.

''I tried, and I was reluctant to follow his orders, but he blackmailed me. He also threatened to do something terrible to me if I didn't obey him, so I had no other choice.'' the woman in costume replied.

Gregory took a piece of paper from his pockets. ''I think this has to do with you.'' he said.

''You found it. It's a note I wrote myself, and you're right, it's about me. I had some unpleasant experiences in my life, and over time, I had begun to question my sanity. When my fear took over and reality disillusioned me, I couldn't refuse the offer to work as a beta tester on that game, where the stage was set, and because of Glitchtrap, insanity prevailed.'' Vanny said. ''There was nothing I could do more, I had lost my inner struggle.''

''Of course you couldn't stand up to him! You have a weak mind and you have no inner strength, and that was your sentence!'' Glamrock Freddy replied. While he sympathized with the fact that she hadn't done this of her own volition, he was still irritated by the fact that she had tried to kill Gregory and the other children.

''That explains a lot of things.'' Vanessa said.

''What about the children? Where are they?'' asked Vanny.

''They were largely sacrificed, but now their souls are free. I managed to get some survivors to safety, they are at the entrance.'' Glamrock Chica replied.

''You shouldn't have put yourself at the service of that madman reincarnated in a virus. He used you so he could return, and he didn't even thank you after that.'' Montgomery said.

Vanny made a decision. ''I can't go on like this. I will do the right thing. I'll reopen the exits for Gregory and the other kids to get out. I'll call the police and explain to them everything that's happened, and if they arrest me for murder and security breaches, I'll get what I deserve. Who knows, I might even be accused of identity theft.'' she declared.

''Good. I think you've learned your lesson.'' Vanessa said, relieved that it was all over, and Vanny left.

A soul came out of Glamrock Freddy's body. It was the soul of a middle-aged man, who, despite his former undead appearance he had for over thirty years, looked as healthy as in his youth. ''Greetings, Gregory.'' he said.

''Michael Afton. So it's you who possessed Freddy.'' Gregory said, amazed.

Michael nodded. ''After my death, I was able to rest in peace with the spirits of the children, but at some point, the last three souls I had freed disappeared. I thought my monstrous father was dead once and for all in that fire, but I was wrong, and this was proof. I kept an eye on everything, and when I found out that he was behind the disappearance of those children and that he was using Vanny as a pawn to return, I came across Glamrock Freddy and took possession of him to make him more sentient, so that he could save the children. That's why he was so protective of you.'' he explained.

''About those three souls, were they someone important to you?'' Gregory asked.

''Two of them. These three souls were a young boy and two little girls. The first is my little sister Elizabeth. She was so fascinated by Circus Baby, an animatronic built by our father, that she disobeyed his orders, and she died due to a feature he installed in Baby. The other is Charlotte Emily, the daughter of Fazbear Entertainment co-founder Henry Emily. After the fire of a horror attraction, Fazbear's Fright, I became the new franchiser of Fazbear Entertainment, and Henry got in touch with me, asking me to run a pizza place, which I accepted. It was all part of a plan that I only discovered at the last minute. He wanted to attract the last possessed animatronics and set fire to the pizzeria to free the souls of the children who possessed them. Among them was the soul of his daughter Charlie, my father's first victim. When he discovered his betrayal, Henry was so furious that he never wanted to have anything to do with him again, and after the death of his daughter, he had several episodes of self-harm and attempted suicide more than once.'' Michael replied.

The child was shocked. ''Why did your father do all this?'' he asked.

''I don't know. I believe it happened after the accidents that killed my siblings. You heard what happened to my sister, but there's another thing you don't know. My brother Evan was accidentally bitten by the animatronic Fredbear at his birthday party in 1983 due to a prank that went wrong. I often pranked him with a mask, but on that occasion, the prank that three of my friends and I had done to him had went wrong. We had lifted him next to Fredbear, thinking he wanted to kiss him, but he was afraid of the animatronics and his head got stuck in the robot's mouth. At the time, Fredbear was singing, and when he closed his mouth, this resulted in the accidental bite. Evan died in the hospital after a week in a coma, and I guess after that, something clicked in my dad. Even though he and Henry were the co-founders, the design of the animatronics was up to Henry at the time, and I guess the fact that his colleague's creations had killed Evan prompted him to take revenge on him by killing his daughter. And the worst is that that night, there was a party going on that she was excluded from, and the other children had left her to die.'' Michael sighed.

Gregory couldn't believe what he had heard. ''I'm gonna have nightmares for weeks...'' he murmured.

''I don't blame you. You've been through things a normal kid shouldn't go through, and looking at you, you're no older than eight.''

''What's the meaning of that box?''

At this question, Michael sighed. ''It's a long story. After that prank resulted in the death of my brother Evan, my father was furious with me, and as punishment, he took me to an underground facility connected to my house, where he sent distorted versions of animatronics to scare me. I was so upset by my brother's death that those things only made my trauma worse, and I spent at least eight nights having terrible nightmares about those monsters. This box contained the Nightmares, which I sealed in it. Now that the box has been destroyed, they have been destroyed with it.''

''Thank goodness it's all over... Where are you going now, Michael?''

''I'll go back to heaven. My father will never come back, as the virus he reincarnated into has been destroyed. With this, I want to thank you for what you have done. You freed the souls, you defeated my father so that he never comes back, you freed the animatronics from the control of a person who could have been his successor, and you saved your surviving friends.''

''Hey, there's little I've done. I just found clues as to what was going on and freed the animatronics from the virus.''

''Yes, but your contribution was fundamental, and I am very grateful to you. Thank you, Gregory. Thank you for everything.''

Michael Afton passed through the ceiling, ready to return to heaven, and Gregory returned to the entrance with Vanessa and the animatronics. Vanny had reopened the exits, and from there, they stared at the sky in amazement. The sun was beginning to rise, and its first rays of sunlight illuminated the sky in a yellow and orange color that gave Gregory a new feeling of serenity. It was the dawn of a new day. ''I'm so sleepy... I feel that I should spend two days resting at home before I go back to school...'' he yawned.

''The police are outside. They will escort home all the surviving children.'' Vanessa said. The police arrested Vanny for hacking, kidnapping and multiple second degree murder and sentenced her to several years in prison. She regretted what she had done and accepted the punishment, feeling that she deserved it.

''Well, I guess we have to say goodbye, Gregory.'' Glamrock Chica said sadly.

''We're grateful to you, Gregory. I don't know what would have happened if you hadn't come.'' Roxanne said. ''I could have dealt with Glitchtrap and Vanny by myself without any problems if it weren't for the fact that they tampered with us.''

''We hope to see you soon.'' Montgomery said, ruffling Gregory's messy hair.

Gregory received a hug from all the animatronics, but when it was time to get into the police car, he looked back. He had said goodbye to all of them but one. And that someone put a hand on his shoulder. It was Glamrock Freddy, looking at him sadly. ''Gregory, I... I will miss you so much... come back to Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex soon, OK?'' he murmured. He then pulled something from behind his back and gave it to him. It was a Glamrock Freddy plushie. ''Here, take this plushie. When you'll look at it, you'll know that I'll always be with you. No matter what anybody says, you will always remain my superstar.'' He lifted him off his feet and hugged him tightly, and the child noticed that black tears of oil peeped into his blue eyes.

''Thank you so much, Freddy... thank you for everything... I'll never forget you.'' Gregory said, also in tears.

Everyone remained respectfully silent as human child and robot exchanged tears. The hug ended two minutes later, and Gregory got into the car. A few police cars began escorting the children to their respective homes, and Gregory waved at the animatronics one last time.

''I don't think it's a ''goodbye'', just a ''bye-bye''. Gregory may come back here sooner or later.'' Vanessa said.

The animatronics shouted a last farewell to Gregory. ''See you soon, Gregory!''

''See you next time you come back!''

''Come back soon, Gregory!''

Overwhelmed with exhaustion, Gregory fell sound asleep, the early morning sunlight enveloping him in its warmth. What he had been through was not what he expected, but it was all over. The news that the animatronics had helped save the children and destroy Glitchtrap hit all the papers and improved their perception. Over the days, Glamrock Freddy discussed Gregory's situation with Vanessa, and she was shocked to discover that he had neither money nor a house. Together they began to reflect on what to do and managed to find a solution together with the other robots: a fundraiser for orphaned and homeless children. Because of the events at the Pizzaplex, Gregory had even been interviewed, and was the main recipient of the funds, as he had survived all the vicissitudes he had faced. The fundraiser was a success, and thanks to the money from it, Gregory could finally live in a stable home with his mother, go to school and live like any child of his age, but most of all, with the Glamrock Freddy plush, he could always thing about dear old Papa Bear. Although animatronics were now better received by the public, some adults still had doubts. Maybe only a bit of time was needed to give the animatronics a second chance. And who knows if it would ever happen...

A/N: The chapter is over! I hope you enjoyed my version of the Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach storyline! Now that we've finished the Vanny, Glitchtrap, Gregory and Glamrock Freddy arc, let's move on to the next arc, one of the most mysterious in the series, one that has to do with Golden Freddy/Fredbear. Until next time!

(1): In the second trailer of Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach, there is a sort of museum section in the lower floors where there are four green rooms where the animatronics are present when they are not performing, and Glamrock Chica is shown on stage in his green room and does not attack Gregory like elsewhere in the trailer. This means that the animatronics, or at least her, will be harmless at the beginning of the game, but then, almost all the robots will become aggressive because of Vanny.

(2): Glamrock Freddy will be the second animatronic to directly help the player after Circus Baby in Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location, but he's the only good animatronic in the entire series so far, and one of two Funko figurines for the game shows him looking concerned as he protects Gregory from Vanny by hiding him in his chest cavity, which can hold a child inside, similar to Funtime Freddy, but while Funtime Freddy's is used to kill children (one is visible inside of him in his footprints in the extra menu), Glamrock Freddy uses his for good. The second shows the night guard Vanessa hiding from Vanny, and both Funko figurines, according to Scott Cawthon, show gameplay details.

(3): Gregory's watchwill be an important mechanic in gameplay alongside stealth. He can use it to check the map and cameras in the various rooms, inventory and documents that might be useful for the plot, or his flashlight battery. There are also some special icons: an icon of Freddy's head, which would indicate his status, a triangle with a number that could refer to the number of lives (which would introduce the mechanics of lives, discarded from the first game because it would have been too much difficult) and a number of tickets, which could probably be used to play minigames through arcade machines to get bonuses or useful items. It's also possible that Gregory won't be the only playable character, but Vanessa and possibly Glamrock Freddy could also be used.

(4): In Five Nights at Freddy's: AR: Special Delivery, Luis Cabrera's emails to Vanny are central to the plot. According to an email not in the game, a Bonnie clone had eaten a stray cat.

(5) In some recent trailers and games, including Security Breach: Fury's Rage, there are clues to the Security Breach plot. In the second trailer, Vanessa states that Gregory will have to get out of here by morning, which means the game will only have a long night until 6 AM instead of five nights, with even references to the tight time via the sounds of a ticking clock at the beginning of the trailer, and at the end, a long purple arm is shown, while in the penultimate level of Security Breach: Fury's Rage, the boss is Vanny, and Scrap Baby and Lefty are visible in the background, indicating that her plan is to kidnap Gregory and the other trapped children and sacrifice them at dawn in a dark ritual in the areas under the pizzaplex built above the pizzeria from Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator to allow Glitchtrap to access the real world and provide him with a real physical body, thus resurrecting William Afton. The references to the sixth game are also present in the second level, with the presence of Scraptrap, while the final boss of the game, which is fought in the control room if played in Hard Mode, is some kind an of abstract monstrosity full of locks on its body and with references to the bedroom of Five Nights at Freddy's 4 and the mysterious box that appears after completing Night 7.

(6): Three animatronic from Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator, namely Scrap Baby, Molten Freddy and Lefty, had souls of children who took possession of them, and we know that Baby is possessed by Elizabeth Afton, inside of Lefty there's the Puppet, which is possessed by Charlotte Emily, and Molten Freddy/Ennard is possessed by the dead child inside Funtime Freddy, while Scraptrap is possessed by William Afton, who later reincarnated as Glitchtrap. The fourth soul is Michael Afton, who died in the fire along with Henry, so it is possible that these souls could return and possess Glamrock Chica, Montgomery Gator and Roxanne Wolf. If that's the case, Michael, being a benign spirit, would take control of Glamrock Freddy with the purpose of preventing his father's resurrection, protecting Gregory and saving the imprisoned children, which would explain why Glamrock Freddy is a good animatronic rather than a bad one.
