Tall Shadow looks at Gray Wing and smiles. The man has Turtle Tail next to him with Sparrow Fur, Owl Eyes, and Pebble Heart surrounding him. He's giving one hundred percent to being a leader, father, teacher, and mate. He's tired a lot more, but Tall Shadow can see how much of this drains him. She's gotten back to her leadership self after Moon Shadow died.
Wind Runner is trying to help Gray Wing, but her leadership is not what Gray Wing is trying to do. Tall Shadow gets the woman trying to prove herself, but she is flustering Gray Wing. Tall Shadow knows that Gray Wing never wants to be a leader, but he's fantastic at it. Gray Wing is trying too hard and wants to help, but with Wind Runner, Tall Shadow, and Thunder trying to lead, Gray Wing is stuck in the middle.
When Gray Wing said that they had to separate into smaller groups so each leader can have the chance to lead, everyone was in disbelief. They didn't want to divide into even small groups. Tall Shadow has seen how River Ripple held onto Gray Wing and was a concern lacing through her. She can see the love River Ripple has for Gray Wing.
The loner was always willing to help, and Gray Wing was always the one to say thank you. The black hair woman has seen the love Gray Wing and Clear Sky have for each other, as she has come to love the younger man. Gray Wing is younger than most of them but has wisdom beyond his years. Tall Shadow would go herself to the younger man for advice.
Gray Wing would always know what to do. He has the best battle strategies out of all of the cats that she has to know. Thunder is good, but he's no Gray Wing. Tall Shadow was sad to see Gray Wing go to Wind Runner but knew that after Turtle Tail died and left Gray Wing with three kits, Gray Wing fell into depression. So when she met Slate, Tall Shadow smiles at how happy Gray Wing is by being with her. She smiles at the family Gray Wing made for himself.
