Julia woke up very early the next day, Fee was still asleep on the couch in her room, so she tried to get up silently and look at the window. The castle gardens were white, filled with snow. Very pretty snow glistening with the morning sun, she quite enjoyed the view, despite almost dying in the snow not so long ago. How long had she even been there? Not even she knew.
As she was lost in thought looking at the snow, she got suddenly snapped back to reality by Fee, who was standing beside her without her noticing, "The Silessian winter is beautiful, isn't it Julia?" She said.
Julia jumped and let out a squeal at the sudden call, "O-Oh, Fee...it's you. It is, yes, I like it...a lot. It's pretty..."
"It is, but it gets boring after a while. Maybe it's just me though. I've lived my entire life here and the only thing there really is here is snow!" Fee sighed, mindlessly looking at the falling snow, before turning toward the priestess. "I just want to see the world! I've read about all the different places in jugdral and I want to visit them all. If only my father would let me…" she continued, looking down before she looked back at Julia.
Julia was unsure of what to say, so she only stared at Fee, how else could she react besides that?
"Oh, sorry for ranting, you probably don't understand any of this."
Looking back down, she tried to figure out what to respond with. "N-No...it's okay. I-I like listening to you talk…"
Fee laughed. "You flatter me, Julia. Anyway, we should go get breakfast, you must be hungry!"
Julia only nodded and followed Fee to the dining room. The castle was huge, she probably would've gotten lost if she was by herself. As they made it to the dining room. The moment they reached there, it was noisy, so much so compared to the quietness of Fee's room.
Guiding Julia through the dining hall, they both picked up their food, and went to look for a seat. Most of the seats were already occupied, so they took a while to find an empty one. After a while Fee rushed to one of the seats, "Cedsy! Over here! We are gonna sit next to you!" she shouted.
"Oh you finally weren't late this time around. Well, go ahead." Ced said, before taking a bite of his apple.
"You are mean! There goes Julia's good impression on me!" Fee pouted and sat down. "I'm so hungry!" She exclaimed and started eating her breakfast.
Julia only stared at her plate as the two siblings ate, which Fee noticed shortly after, "You haven't touched your food at all, Julia! It's not poisoned, you know?" she said, "well, but if you don't want it I'll eat it!"
"U-Um...No! I-I'll eat it...just give me some time!" Julia said, her voice louder than it has ever been since she arrived at the castle, Ced and Fee were surprised.
"Well, eat up before it gets cold!" Fee exclaimed and then continued eating her food.
At that, Julia finally started digging in on her food, she ate eagerly since she hadn't eaten anything since she came to the castle. She quickly finished her food and looked a lot better than before.
"See? You ate it all so fast! I told you it was good!" Fee said, patting Julia on the back.
Ced smiled slightly at his sister's enthusiasm, before making eye contact with Julia. "Well, now that you seem more calm this morning, perhaps you could tell us a little more about yourself?"
Julia only looked down for a moment, trying to remember what had happened, though she didn't know much about her past. A few minutes of silence passed and Julia finally got something, it was a very vague memory of her brother. A powerful dark aura surrounded him and he looked to be in pain. She didn't recall much other than that, she just knew remembering it brought her to tears. "I-I don't remember…" She said between sobs.
"J-Julia, is everything alright?" Fee asked, looking worried, "S-Sorry if we pressured you...it must be hard…"
"Oh, that's fine...no need to stress yourself over it." Ced sighed, well that was a bust, he thought. He decided he might as well just not interrogate her any further. "I should tell father, I think he would like to know. He looked fascinated the whole time last night."
"Okay, I'll be with Julia, then!" Fee said, then she turned to Julia, "Julia, I'll show you around the castle! Come with me, we can go outside and see the snow up close later, what do you think?"
Julia only nodded, Fee grabbed her hand and led her out the dining room. Ced was left alone and walked out of the dining room as well, making his way toward where his father might be,.Lewyn was never easy to find, he would always appear in the most unexpected places, the place where Ced had seen him the most is his office, so he might as well start looking from there.
And it seemed that he had been correct for once, as when he opened the door, he saw his father looking at the numerous books in his office's bookshelves. He looked lost in thought, so Ced cleared his throat and stepped further inside the office. "Father. I came to inform you that we weren't able to get information from Julia. You seemed interested in her past so I figured I should tell you, that's all." He said, before he turned around and tried to leave.
"Don't you leave just yet, I have something I would like you to do, Ced." Lewyn bluntly told him, not even bothering to turn around and look at him.
Ced turned back, trying to sound as neutral as possible. "Oh, what is it?"
"I want you to head to Thracia, to hopefully take care of those Grannvalians over there."
"What? Why?" Ced attempted to interrogate. "I mean, Thracia is not somewhere I would think to go to fend off Grannvalians."
"Thracia is dangerous, I want you to dispose of them before it gets worse." He finally turned toward Ced, arms crossed.
"I don't believe I understand, please ela-"
"Just do as I say. Now get out." He pointed at the door, looking back at the bookshelf again.
Without a word, Ced departed, there was no way he could convince his father. As much as he was confused, he knew how Lewyn got when his orders weren't obeyed. So, he went to go look for his sister and Julia.
When he went outside to the castle garden, he saw the two playing in the snow. Fee was teaching her how to do a snowman, it was very similar to Ced somehow.
Once Fee noticed Ced was coming, she waved at him, "Cedsy! Look, we made a snowman that looks just like you! What do you think?!"
"Heh, that's sweet of you!" Ced smiled.
"Glad you liked it, me and Julia put a lot of effort into it!" Fee exclaimed, Julia only smiled a bit, "What took you so long anyway? I haven't seen you in a while." She asked.
"So you know I talked with father, correct? He asked me to go on a mission to Thracia, I do not understand why, but I suppose it's what I must do." Ced sighed, arms folded.
Hearing that, Fee's expression changed to one of concern. "Thracia? That's...odd to say the least."
"Yeah, well, I should probably go. I definitely don't want to make father mad…"
"I-I understand, just be safe out there. I don't know what I would do if I were to lose you…"
"I will be fine, you can trust me." Ced said, patting Fee's head, "make sure you take care of Julia while I'm gone. I admit I'm little bit worried about leaving her in your care!" He laughed.
"Hey! Who do you think I am? I can take care of her, there is nothing to worry about!" He exclaimed, before she looked at Julia, "Isn't that right, Julia! You had a great time with me today, right?" She elbowed her on the arm.
"Y-Yeah...you are very nice!" Julia giggled.
"See? We will be fine! You can stop worrying now."
"Well, I trust you." Ced laughed, "I'll be off now. Take care,, you two, see you soon!"
He turned around and took out a rewarp staff, he thought. 'Let's hope whatever is going on in Thracia is not what father says...' and then, he was gone.
