Chapter 1

"Dad, I'm heading out!" I yelled as I was walking out the door. "Don't forget! We need to pack for Camp, so get back before dinner!" he yelled back. How 'bout I introduce myself? I'm Percy Jackson only demigod son of Nyx and grandson of Lycaon, I'm 11 years old and my birthday is on the 18th of August. I'm not proud of it though, but it does have its benefits. Even if I'm not stronger during a full moon, I can still shift. It helps against the monsters. We're getting off topic, so back to what I was doing. I went to the garage to get my bike. I was going to go to my demigod friend, Annabeth's, house. We have known each other since the first time we went to Camp which was when we were five. We have been best friends since, and I was, according to my father, ecstatic with joy. She is the daughter of Athena, which means that she is crazy smart, which helps when I have trouble with my homework. She has blond hair, princess curls, and stormy grey eyes that seem to try and learn as much as possible about her surroundings.

When I got to her house, which was just at the end of the street, I knocked on the door and a few seconds later, Annabeth's father, Dr. Fredrick Chase, opened the door and exclaimed, "Why, hello Percy! I wasn't expecting you to come by today." "I know," I replied, "I just wanted to know if Annabeth wanted to ride her bike with me." "Of course, she can, she just has to be careful, though. You two have very powerful scents and will most likely attract a lot of monsters," he replied. "Just bring a weapon just in case." "I always bring one wherever I go. My claws, remember. I had them outfitted with a celestial bronze coating." "Ah, I wasn't there for that. As you may recall, I am a mortal." Just then, Annabeth came out and exclaimed, "Hey, Percy!" "Hey Annabeth. We don't have much time because I have to go pack for camp soon." "Well then what are we still doing here? Let's go!" "Okay, bye Dr. Chase!" "Bye, have fun. And don't forget, we're meeting up for dinner, so Annabeth, come back when Percy does."

-Before dinner at Percy's house-

Malcom Jackson's POV

"Percy! Hurry up, we'll be late to meet up with the Chases, and I know about your little crush on a certain daughter of Athena!" "Okay, okay, okay, I'll be done in a second. No need to threaten me with that, but how did you know?" "I didn't, you just told me, and it's a little obvious." "Do you think she knows? Oh my gosh what am going to say if she does? What am I going to wear? What am I going to do? I hope she still wants to be my friend. I-" "Percy, I don't think she wouldn't not want to be your friend regardless of if she knew about this crush," I interrupted his rant about what he will do. It was actually quite funny, the fact that he is worried about a crush at the age of 11, almost 12.

As he was finishing up, I looked at the past pictures of me and him, and a few with me, Nyx, and little Percy. I started to get a little teary-eyed because the time just went by so fast, it felt like just yesterday I was dropping him off at camp for the first time. "Dad, are you ok?" "Yeah, just wondering where the years went." "Dad, we're meeting the Chases for dinner, not dropping me off for a date," he said as we were getting in the car. "Yeah, but we might as well be, considering how close you and Annabeth are getting." "Dad, It's not like that, we're just friends!" "Relax! I'm just messing with you."

--10 minutes later-

Percy POV

"Well, here we are," Dad said as we arrived at the restaurant. "This was built in a Classic Greek style exterior, but on the inside, it was a classic Etruscan style interior. Annabeth likes to go on and on about architecture. I guess some of it rubbed off on me," I said as my father started to give me a confused look. "It seems to me that you're spending a lot of time with that friend of yours." "It's not like that and you know it," I replied. He smiled, "I know, I'm just teasing you."

Sorry for the short chapter, I couldn't think about anything else to write.
