Hey everybird! What's up!?
So I actually forgot to mention this, but the story later on will include a lot of stereotypes, it's more for some humor and not meant to offend anyone, at least I hope it won't!
Also, a quick thank you to Tomada The Falcon for the fav and follow!
Now back to the story!
Chapter 2: Reaching Inside
As Tomada finally revealed what has been haunting him to Alex, the Scarlet macaw knew that they needed to get to the bottom of this right away. Alex asked Tomada if he knew exactly where, but Tomada didn't know, his memory not having formed those images yet as Alex tried to think of a solution…
"Lets get our family and friends, we can all think of something to help you buddy." Alex strongly suggested.
"You sure this is a good idea?" Tomada asked.
"One way or another, they're going to find out." Alex reminded his friend. "Tell you what, I'll go get everyone while you stay here and try to conjure up your memory." Alex instructed his friend as he went to go get their family and friends.
Tomada stayed behind and tried to remember, but for some time, he felt pain and couldn't think more, like his mind didn't want to bring up those times as he patiently waited for Alex to return with everyone. Eventually, Alex arrived back with everyone, Tomada's family, as well as Alex's adopted brother and his family, Blu, Jewel, Bia, Carla, and Tiago, and last but not least, Alex's real sister, Lisa, who was dating Tiago.
"Why didn't you tell us Tomada?" Blu asked with concern. "You should have done so right away."
"Yeah Uncle Tomada, we're family too you know." Bia added.
"Alright, so what are we going to do about Tomada's problem, lets think of something everyone." Alex reminded the group as they started to help of something and it was finally Tomada's daughter who spoke up, with like an imaginary lightbulb going over her head.
"I got it." Bobbie yelled out happily.
"What is it sweetie?" Sorrel brightened up.
"I know exactly what dad needs, follow me." Bobbie told everyone as she flew out, with everyone following her as they flew to the healer's hollow in the Blue macaw tribe, Bobbie leading the group inside the large tree to a special spot.
There the group looked to see a small pool, filled with water that was so clear, one could see their reflection like a mirror, added to the stillness of the liquid were fresh flowers growing all around, their aroma filling the void as they pointed down towards the water as once in awhile small clusters of pollen dropped in. How this would help… Tomada had no idea, but he trusted his little girl knew what she was doing, after all, she often volunteered in this place.
"This here is a special treatment for anyone suffering from mental pain or having suffered a traumatic experience, it's to help them clear their heads and face their hardship quietly and peacefully." Bobbie explained.
"Oh, like a sensory deprivation tank…" Blu thought. "Remember when Linda tried it that one time back home Alex?"
"Oh yeah… That was a weird day…" Alex shaking his feathers as Bobbie was a little confused, but continued on.
"Right…" Bobbie said slowly before focusing back to the task at wing. "Okay dad, all you need to do is lay down in the water here, face up, close your eyes, and relax." Bobbie instructed as even still, Tomada was a little nervous as he felt Sorrel hold his wing.
"You can do it honey." Sorrel told the falcon as Tomada took a deep breath and did as his daughter told him, slowly getting into the shallow pool, before laying down, half his body submerged as he relaxed, letting out a breath before closing his eyes and letting his mind drift off.
"So how long will this take?" Jewel wondering.
"Depends on how painful the memories are, it'll take some time for dad's memory to fully surface, sometimes it takes more than a day." Bobbie answered as the group mostly stayed quiet while Tomada felt the water cool and relax him like it had special properties, his senses blocking everything outside his body and only letting what was inside him to come to reality…
Tomada opened his eyes, but instead of seeing his family and friends, as well as the special treatment room he was in, he was at like a human place, just like when he was in Minnesota. Only here it was more sunny, as Tomada looked around, barely able to make out a tall light brown tower, which looked like it had moving arms of some kind and nearby, a giant revolving wheel, along the other human structures.
"Where am I?" Tomada asked himself as he looked more around and well he saw cheering crowds of humans, looking up towards the sky, their eyes drawn to something as Tomada looked to see a flock of falcons racing in the sky, competing for something, but what, Tomada didn't know and… "Is that dad?" Tomada told himself in his head as he saw a falcon along them which looked a lot like him.
"Look at your father go." A female voice spoke to Tomada as he turned in the direction of the voice to see an adult female Peregrine Falcon speaking as her eyes were also watching the flock of falcons.
What surprised Tomada was how tall the female falcon was to him, she was a giant as Tomada laid her eyes upon her, this wasn't possible unless…
"I'm little…" Tomada in shock as he looked up and down his body, which was the body of a tiny falcon chick. "But how…" Tomada confused as this was a really bizarre treatment as Tomada decided to trust his daughter and let it go on as he returned his current focus to his "father", who looked like he had a bunch of prey in his claws as he was in the lead, getting to the finish line as the human crowd went wild.
"And we have a winner!" One of the humans shouted with joy as Tomada's "father" returned to him and the female next to the little Tomada as he wore a huge smile.
"That was a jolly good show on my part." The male chuckled with pride as he sounded like the racing was no problem to him, Tomada thinking the male's voice sounded strange, much different from what he sounded like.
"So it was hun." The female agreed as she gave him a kiss as Tomada saw a human male walk up to them.
"Well done my boy." The human beamed with joy as he held out a gloved hand, to which Tomada's "father" jumped up slightly and rested upon the hand. "Another win for us this year." The human smiled as he had a generous piece of meat in his other hand, to which he gave it to Tomada's "father", who ate it up, licking his beak as he enjoyed his treat.
As Tomada let the scene play out, he and his parents were put in a large, comfortable cage, to which it was then put in a rich looking car. Tomada was still dumbfounded as he couldn't believe this was once his life as the car drove down the road, out into the countryside, filled with forests, not the kind Tomada was used to in the Amazon, for it wasn't like a jungle rainforest. Added to the fact that Tomada noticed the car and its driver was doing it wrong, at least from what Tomada knew of Blu and Alex telling him about humans and their driving.
The car soon enough reached its destination, a rather large and beautiful looking estate, with large gardens all around and wide open fields to complete it. Tomada stared in wonder as the car stopped and the human passengers got off as one of them picked up the cage Tomada was in as he and his parents were taken to their own home, small compared to the large mansion Tomada saw, but still huge for falcons. Tomada and his parents were dropped off as the cage door opened and he was free to fly on in, but his "mother" picked him up and carried him, Tomada guessing he wasn't able to fly yet.
"Is this really real…" Tomada told himself in his head as he was taken to his own space as his "father" came and joined the two.
"I can't wait until you're old enough to take your old man's place son, you'll be just as strong and good as me one day." Tomada's "father" praised.
"But until than hun, you'll still be the number one companion in this land." Tomada's "mother" added.
Tomada didn't say anything as the day began to end and outside the weather started to turn stormy as rain and wind were heard. Tomada's parents fell asleep, Tomada's "mother" first putting little Tomada to sleep as Tomada couldn't of course because of the rainstorm outside. With his parents still sleeping, Tomada couldn't take it anymore and by himself, he got up and took a breath as he was on an edge, needing to fly to move on.
"Okay, you can do this Tomada…" Tomada told himself as he spread his wings and flew on out through a small crack, now outside as the wind nearly knocked him over, forgetting for a second that he was now a small chick and not the big, strong falcon he was.
And then it started as Tomada flew on out and that's when he realized this was his last bad dream… The flying in the storm, the flashes of lightning and the constant shower of raindrops, flying about aimlessly and becoming lost. And then wanting to get back home, but losing his sense of direction as he then saw his "parents", but they couldn't see him as they kept flying further and further away… And finally ending with the flash of lightning striking him…
"NOOO!" Tomada shouted as he shot up from the pool of water, panting heavily as his family and friends became alert, coming to him to see what was wrong.
"Dad, it's okay, you're safe." Tomada Junior told his dad as Blu and Alex went to either side of the falcon to make sure he was steady, helping him stand back up.
"Relax buddy, you're safe." Alex told his friend as Tomada took big, deep breaths as Bobbie came and gave her father a cup of water to drink and cool his throat so he could speak.
"How long was I out?" Tomada asked.
"A couple of hours." Blu answered. "The sun has just started to set."
"So what did you see honey?" Sorrel asked as Tomada explained everything he saw as Blu and Alex took note, trying to think of the place Tomada was talking about.
"Sweetie, do you know what Uncle Tomada is talking about?" Blu asked his booksmart daughter, Bia, as she got to thinking and after a couple of minutes knew the place Tomada was describing.
"If I'm not mistaken, the place Uncle Tomada is talking about is not a place in Brazil or South America for that matter… No, it's in fact far away, an ocean away…" Bia explained as everyone present was fully curious as to what Bia would say. "When Uncle Tomada said, "tall tower with moving arms and a giant revolving wheel, I think he was describing Big Ben and the London Eye…"
"So that means…" Jewel starting.
"Uncle Tomada originally came from England…" Bia finishing her best guess as to the place as everyone simply looked at each other, as for Tomada… He was lost for words.
And I'll leave it there!
So you know what this means… A trip to the land of tea and royalty, God save the Queen and Country and all, the United Kingdom! Of course we have to first find a way to get there!
So until next time…
See everybird later!
