Hey everybird! What's up!?
We're back at this story and well this chapter (And maybe the next one too) will be about the fun the group has on the cruise ship while it's on its way to UK!
Also warning, there will be a reference to a somewhat cheesy romantic movie, well cheesy to me at least! With that, lets get on with it!
Chapter 4: Cruise Fun
A couple of days have passed since the group left Rio on a large cruise ship, traveling across the wide Atlantic to the United Kingdom, the trip taking at least several more days as right now, there was not a speck of land in sight, only miles upon miles of endless ocean. Tomada was especially impatient considering that the trip was for him after all, he just couldn't wait to find out if his parents and maybe if he had any siblings were really there like he saw very clearly in the sensory pool.
"How much longer will the trip take?" Tomada asked to no one in particular.
"Well, depends on the speed and course the ship will take, but most likely around four to five days." Bia guessed.
"Would have been there in less than a day if we took the plane." Blu added. "But than we would need to bring Linda and Tulio too so they could get us on the plane, would be very hard to sneak abroad one." Blu finished.
"Relax dad, there's no rush and besides we can have some fun while we're here." Tomada reminded his dad.
"Good idea son, we been stuck here so far, I think it's safe to explore around, maybe see if we can grab some food." Sorrel agreed as the group was still on the roof of the ship's bridge, out of sight of the ship's crew and passengers.
The teens of the group took the opportunity an they left right away, without another word, the couples going together of course. As cruises were sometimes for romantic purposes, it was the chance the kids could get to have some memories as Bia and Tomada Junior went one way and Lisa and Tiago another.
"Come on Jewel, why don't we see if we can spot some dolphins or whales out there." Blu suggested to Jewel.
"Alright." Jewel up for it as the two then left, joining the kids in having their own fun.
"Want to join them honey?" Sorrel asked.
"You go ahead, I want to stay here for now." Tomada answered as Sorrel decided to not question it and went to go join Blu and Jewel while the only ones left were Alex and Tomada.
"You know buddy, if I can really look, I can see Big Ben." Alex joked in order to brightened up the mood.
"Sure you can Alex…" Tomada rolled his eyes. " We could have been there so easily… You think we can just fly the rest of the way?"
"Better not buddy, we don't want to get lost and it's a BIG ocean, trust me." Alex putting emphasis on "BIG". "Don't worry, your parents aren't going anywhere, if what you saw is true, than they'll still be there." Alex putting his wing on his friend.
"Yeah…" Tomada sighed.
"So, you sure you don't want to stretch out your wings, take a fly around the ship?" Alex smiling.
"You can go ahead buddy, I think I could use some alone time if you don't mind." Tomada politely requested.
"Okay buddy, better not go anywhere." Alex joked as he thought about heading to go join up with Blu, Jewel, and Sorrel. "Wonder how my brother's faring with this…" Alex thought as he remembered Blu was never on the ocean like the rest of them…
Meanwhile with Blu, Jewel, and Sorrel…
"Oh Blu…" Jewel sighed as Blu was puking over the cruise's ship railing, obviously very sick… "Why didn't you tell me you were seasick?"
"I didn't realize okay?" Blu quickly spoke before puking up more, his face all green as he had trouble not to stop at the moment.
"So, you going to remember this moment?" Sorrel teased.
"It's not the worst thing that's ever happened to us…" Jewel tried to look at the positive side. There was that one time when we were first together when we fell from the hang glider over Rio…" Jewel remembered as Blu hurled again as she tried to think about what the teens were up to right now…
With Bia and Tomada Junior…
"Wow, never thought I would be on the ocean…" Junior smiled as the couple were on the very bow of the ship, where down below the very tip of the bow formed a wake trail of white form off the water.
"Yeah…" Bia agreed. "You know this reminds me of a movie I once saw…" Bia scooting closer to her boyfriend.
"Oh? What?" Junior curious.
"Well, this boy got his crush up and on the very edge, held her steady while she spread out her arms." Bia remembered as there was a visible brush on her face. "And I was wondering if maybe we could try it?" Bia very scared to suggest this as she felt a little stupid for saying this.
"Sure, why not, I would love to do anything you want." Junior smiled. "So what do I have to do?"
"Okay, just make sure I won't fall while I get on the edge and once I'm there, just hold my sides until I'm done." Bia instructed as she carefully did her part, going to the very froward tip of the ship as Junior was right behind her, ready to catch her if she fell. "Okay, I'm here, ready Junior?"
"Ready…" Junior a little nervous to do this, not that he didn't touch Bia's sides before, but in this way… It would be new for him as he slowly held onto Bia's sides with his wings, gently touching her soft feathers as Bia couldn't help but giggle a little, being a little ticklish. "Sorry, want me to stop?"
"No, it's okay, should have expected that." Bia apologized as she thought of the girl in the movie she saw once with her parents and Carla, of course Tiago didn't want anything to do with that as Bia closed her eyes and relaxed. "This is so peaceful, nothing will ruin this…
"What are you two doing?" A new voice spoke loudly, rudely interrupting Bia's moment as it also jumped Junior, who almost threw Bia froward and well if she wasn't a bird…
"Tiago, you bird brain!" Bia yelled harshly at her brother as he was laughing out loud.
"You know you two look so stupid." Tiago chuckled as Lisa, who was besides him rolled her eyes.
"Just so you know Bia, I don't agree with him." Lisa stating her side as she playfully punched Tiago's side a little hard in order to make him stop.
"So what have you two been doing?" Junior changing the subject.
"Managed to grab some food and even a drink, had a nice romantic meal together." Lisa answered. "With a straw for each of us." Lisa added as now it was Tiago's turn to blush.
"Well… It was just a normal meal…" Tiago said slowly. "And we had to share the drink…"
"Sure thing brother…" Bia chuckled as Tiago felt embarrassed, but Lisa came to his side and snuggled up besides him before speaking again.
"So, you two know where Carla and Bobbie are?" Lisa wondering.
"I thought my sister went with you two?" Junior remembering.
"Well, she was, but then she couldn't stand me that much, so she wanted to go find my sister." Tiago informed the teenage falcon.
"Makes sense, I can see why my sister would think that." Junior joked as Tiago…
"Hey!" Tiago snapping at the falcon as Bia and Lisa were laughing…
Meanwhile with Carla and Bobbie…
"You think it's a good idea to be inside the ship?" Bobbie asked as she and Carla were actually inside the cruise ship, where they would certainly be seen and noticed by the many humans roaming about.
"Relax, it's not like we're a couple of rats and we fit in reasonably well here." Carla pointed out as indeed it was true, most cruise ships had a tropical theme around them and well Blue macaws like Carla and Bobbie were very much tropical birds.
"Still, not sure our parents would like this, I feel like they would want us to try to stay out of sight." Bobbie reminding Carla.
"It'll be okay, we won't cause any trouble." Carla urged her friend as the two explored the inside of the ship, eventually they almost passed by something, which made Carla stop and turn around as she smiled upon looking at the area of the ship…
It was a dance club, with a DJ spinning around records while loud speakers played music, with the partygoers dancing wildly to the music, a disco ball spinning above, to complete the scene. It reminded Carla so much of her Uncle Nico and Pedro's club back in Rio.
"Hey Bobbie, hang on." Carla called out to her friend, who didn't notice at first that Carla stopped, coming back as she saw the club and then the look on her friend's face.
"Don't you think of it…" Bobbie warned.
"Think of what?" Carla needing clearance.
"We're already inside, don't you go attracting anymore attention than we need to." Bobbie knowing exactly what Carla was thinking of.
"Too late!" Carla yelled as she zipped into the dance club, leaving behind Bobbie who couldn't stop her in time, Carla being way too fast.
"Why do I even bother?" Bobbie groaned to herself as she watched Carla join the party, careful of the crowd of humans as she danced to her heart's content.
It was only a matter of time until the humans around Carla began to notice her as they stopped, Carla not paying attention at all as an empty circle formed around her. The humans watched in amusement as it took Carla a good couple of minutes to notice that all eyes were upon her as she slowly stopped and chuckled nervously. Carla didn't know how to react, but luckily someone came to her rescue as she grabbed onto her and took her out of the party.
"See what I'm talking about?" Bobbie told Carla as the teen struggled a little to carry the chubby teen away. "And why are you so heavy?"
"Hey, I lost a few!" Carla snapped back as Bobbie dropped Carla as soon as they were out of sight. "Lets just get back to exploring.
By the end of the day, with darkness having fallen and the cruise ship's lights turning on, the group regathered at their original spot, settling down as they talked about what they did. Tomada of course didn't do much, simply laying down on the roof of the ship's bridge and thinking about such things like what England would be like, how his life would have been different if he never left there, or even if his parents would still be there at all. Luckily the falcon was traveling with friends and family as one of them came over to him.
"Hey Tomada." Blu greeted.
"Hey Blu, how are you feeling?" Tomada asked. "I heard you got a little seasick."
"Yeah, I guess some birds aren't meant to be over the water." Blu joked as Tomada chuckled a tiny bit. "You doing okay?"
"Yeah, just have a lot on my mind." Tomada sighed as he looked up towards the star filled sky.
"Well, we'll reach England very soon and we'll search for your parents for as long as we have to." Blu smiled.
"Thanks, for you and everyone else coming with me." Tomada sincerely thanked his friend.
"Anytime." Blu replied. "Now, why don't you join us, we're not complete without you." Blu requested as Tomada looked back to see everyone around one of the sets of lights as they laughed telling each other what they did.
"Sounds good." Tomada getting up and joining Blu as they sat down with everyone else, enjoying the last of the day before they went to sleep for the night, the ship continuing its trek across the ocean.
And I'll leave it there!
Next time the ship will have England in its sights and we can then truly begin the journey for the birds!
Until than…
See everybird later!
