Chapter 24

At the curse womb estate…

Junpei was a little nervous. He has been texting with Suiryu and Fushiguro ever since the body thief incident, but something was off. Choso even said so aloud that Yuuji has been badly hurt. "I sense my brothers in pain… he was in terrible agony…" he said as his hand came over his heart. "Has no one said anything?"

Ever since then, Junpei has been trying to get answer. He considered going to the school himself yet worries the barrier in place would repel him. There have been a lot more curse attacks as of late, which prompted the brothers to go out and take then down. Yet at the same time, he has been trying to see what's been going on. Suiryu is insisting Yuuji is okay, he is starting to heal which is a good sign.

Yet as he texted Fushiguro, he gets a rather perplexing response. "We knew he was hurt, but no one said anything about his condition. In fact, he isn't kept in the hospital anymore. But no one has told us otherwise as to what has happened or if he is okay."

"It's like the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing…" Junpei muttered. Yet as he turned to Choso, he appeared rather calm. Before, shortly after the incident, he was in constant pain and felt it. Yet recently, he has been settled. "I don't know what to say to you big bro. I got Suiryu telling me he's okay, but his best friend has no idea as to how badly Yuuji got hurt."

Choso merely nodded to him. "He is healing, I can feel that. But at the same time, my connection to him is getting blurred." He paused as he tried to focus. His head nodded in confirmation. "He's changing,"

"Changing?"

"I can feel it in his core, it's radiating throughout his whole body, pulsing with energy that I have never felt before in any brother. But at the same time, it is making me feel distant from him. It's not natural."

Junpei looked about the living room and found one of his many notebooks, he's been recording notes on not just himself, but the brothers as well. Including Yuuji and Suiryu. He found Itadori's book and started to make notes. Date and time as well as the source. Choso has always been bang on when something is amiss among the siblings. Despite being the third youngest this time around, he explained to Junpei when he was first brought into the world as a curse womb, he was the eldest brother.

He finished making the notes before he paused. "Choso… you spoke of this before to me when we were training… how you don't like your curse ability because of where it came from… do you mind if I ask you about it?"

He smiled to him and nodded. "I've been waiting for this day, you are one of us, but not in the same sense of enduring our hardships. However, I do believe you were a mere experiment like we were from the same deprived individual who did this to the family."

Junpei sat and listened as Choso explained the circumstances of he and his brother's existence. About a curse sorcerer named Noritoshi Kamo, but the sorcerer that possessed such a man is really named Kenjaku, who heard about their mother's ability. "She could give birth to half human and half curse children… Kenjaku sought to experiment on her, and how well the process worked. But he never let her carry to full term…"

He felt a pit form in his stomach. Junpei was sick at the notion. "Thus… you guys… and part of me…" he whispered.

Choso nodded. "My ability… comes from the Kamo clan, supposedly one of the great families of the Jujutsu world. That's why my technique is powerful… because it came from him…" he said and clenched his fist with anger. "But at the same time…" his tense state relaxed as he looked to Junpei and smiled. "I used it to defy him and protect those I care about. I have my family, if only mother could see us… but I feel like we are a whole family again."

Junpei merely smiled to his words. "I am starting to feel more and more connected to you guys, every day. I have learned so much from everyone, and also come to see you guys really are brothers to me."

He nodded. "It's funny, as of late, ever since you started the band… some of our other siblings have decided to take up music… they want to join you on stage… and they are jealous that Eso, Suiryu and Tanso get you all to themselves." Chose snickered.

He thought it was odd. "Wait, they are jealous? Why? I mean, I am just one brother!" he laughed.

"Yes, but you fail to see how truly treasured you are here. No one really shares the same hobbies, you have gone out of your way to enjoy what we all like to do, and just so we have company and someone to speak to about it. Eso with his cooking, now band, Sho with his poetry, me with my paintings, the triplets when they want to play sports, Tanso with his familiars. Sanso with his garden, you help all of us and enjoy our hobbies. When we don't get to spend as much time as the others do with you… well… we get a little jealous"

He never thought of it like that, nor did he think that the brothers would get that way when he's not around to hang out with them! "We got to do more as a family then," Junpei said aloud.

Choso instantly perked up in interest. "Really? What do you have in mind?"

"Well we all seem to enjoy movies, but I think there is a lot more we can do. There are amusement parks to go to, but none of that would give us a thrill to say the least with our line of work. We could go into the city and just look about, also we can find activities we can all do as a family." He said offhandedly. "But, I suppose that will all have to wait if we want Yuuji to be part of it too."

Junpei paused. "Choso, would you be offended if I say we did some things without Yuuji and Suiryu?"

He shook his head and smiled. "As much as I care for my younger brothers… they are doing their own thing, if they wish to join us I will welcome them. But at the moment, I do believe they have enough to contend with."

"In that case, let's get everyone together and think of things we can do as a family, stuff you guys have always wanted to try, things like that," he said in a very upbeat tone.

Choso smiled once more and nodded. "Very well then, let's gather the everyone and see what they think."

Junpei pulled out a white erase board from his room, he used it from time to time when it came to his own abilities and made notes as he went along testing out his new power and body. But today, its use will be properly used for something else. He gathered the brothers outside and stood before the white board, Choso explained earlier about the idea of them spending time as a family, but wanted ideas from everyone. "So, let's have it!" Junpei called, as he appeared prepared to write a massive list.

But the brothers were oddly silent on the matter. "Bros?" Junpei asked.

"Uh… sorry little brother, we aren't too familiar with this." Sho explained. "Not to mention, we haven't seen enough of this world yet to know what we want to do and see of it."

"Then let's make that one of our goals. We will go out more as a family. Shopping, sight seeing, whatever! Let's get everyone modernized" Junpei stated as he wrote family outings.

"Well… we could always see what these professional athletes are…" said Kotsuso.

"Ooo, sport events, not bad." It went on the list. "Choso… would you like to see an art gallery? Go to an opera? Comic book convention?"

He appeared interested in the art gallery. Tanso was interested in the opera of all things. Sanso and Noranso were curious to what a comic book convention was. "Ooo, we got to do comic book conventions. We can go as we are and no one would think otherwise!" he said with great cheer.

"That does sound like fun…" snickered Eso. "Cooking classes." He said aloud. "I wish to see if there is a cooking class that could teach me something new."

"There are some I know of, and this should be a skill we ALL learn, right? This can be another family activity, hell we wouldn't HAVE to go out, Eso could teach us here too. But if we wanted to… let me research this."

"A farmer's market… or at least a nice small town market place, out of the city." Sanso said aloud.

"Travel, I am sure we could do that sooner than later…"

Soon, more and more ideas came out of the brothers. They want to travel, see the world and get to know it. Movies are nice, but it can't substitute for the same thing.

"Say, little brother… is there something YOU have always wanted to do?" asked Sanso.

He smiled a little and nodded. He wrote it on the list, but it stunned the brothers. "Really?" asked Eso.

He nodded. Ever since he returned, it was the one thing he kept thinking about. In fact, he remembered the first time the idea was brought up, and he fell in love with it.

Junpei wants to go back to school, but wants to enroll as Tokyo Jujutsu High like Yuuji.
